Observed-based adaptive neural tracking control for nonlinear systems with unknown control directions and input delay

Enhancing the stability and performance of practical control systems in the presence of nonlinearity,time delay,and uncertainty remains a significant challenge.Particularly,a class of strict-feedback nonlinear uncertain systems characterized by unknown control directions and time-varying input delay lacks comprehensive solutions.In this paper,we propose an observerbased adaptive tracking controller to address this gap.Neural networks are utilized to handle uncertainty,and a unique coordinate transformation is employed to untangle the coupling between input delay and unknown control directions.Subsequently,a new auxiliary signal counters the impact of time-varying input delay,while a Nussbaum function is introduced to solve the problem of unknown control directions.The leverage of an advanced dynamic surface control technique avoids the“complexity explosion”and reduces boundary layer errors.Synthesizing these techniques ensures that all the closed-loop signals are semi-globally uniformly ultimately bounded(SGUUB),and the tracking error converges to a small region around the origin by selecting suitable parameters.Simulation examples are provided to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach. 展开更多

The parameter value is changed a little, but cluster results are entirely different. Aiming at this vulnerability, a shielding parameters sensitivity trajectory cluster (SPSTC) algorithm is proposed which is insensitive to the input parameters. Firstly, some definitions about the core distance and reachable distance of line segment are presented, and then the algorithm generates cluster sorting according to the core dis- tance and reachable distance. Secondly, the reachable plots of line segment sets are constructed according to the cluster sorting and reachable distance. Thirdly, a parameterized sequence is extracted according to the reachable plot, and then the final trajectory cluster based on the parameterized sequence is acquired. The parameterized sequence represents the inner cluster structure of trajectory data. Experiments on real data sets and test data sets show that the SPSTC algorithm effectively reduces the sensitivity to the input parameters, meanwhile it can obtain the better quality of the trajectory cluster. 展开更多

Two design problems of the observer with internal delay and without internal delay are formulated. Based on H∞ control theory in time-delay systems, the proposed observer is designed in term of linear matrix inequalities (LMI). A design algorithm is proposed. In recent years,with the continuous development of multi-agent technology represented by unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)swarm,consensus control has become a hot spot in academic research.In this paper,we put forward a discrete-time consensus protocol and obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for the second-order consensus of the second-order multi-agent system with a fixed structure under the condition of no saturation input.The theoretical derivation verifies that the two eigenvalues of the Laplacian of the communication network matrix and the sampling period have an important effect on achieving consensus.Then we construct and verify sufficient conditions to achieve consensus under the condition of input saturation constraints.The results show that consensus can be achieved if velocity,position gain,and sampling period satisfy a set of inequalities related to the eigenvalues of the Laplacian matrix.Finally,the accuracy and validity of the theoretical results are proved by numerical simulations. 展开更多

Due to the popularity of the systems with input redundancy,this paper focuses on the problems with input redundancy,where we concern about the effects of adding new input redundancy into the controllable systems.Time optimal control problems are discussed,where such effects are evaluated by the optimal time.Based on the assumption of the existence and uniqueness of the optimal control,the paper proves that increasing the number of input redundancy will result in a strict reduction of the optimal time from the same initial state if there exists non-idle channel among the redundant input channels.Moreover,if the problem is normal,then all of the redundant input channels are used to shorten the optimal time.On the other hand,without the assumption of normality,the optimal time will also be smaller for the redundant system as comparing to the original system if at least one of these redundant input channels is completely controllable.Finally,two numerical examples are deployed to demonstrate the main results of this paper. 展开更多

This paper addresses the problem of three-dimensional trajectory tracking control for underactuated autonomous underwater vehicles in the presence of parametric uncertainties,environmental disturbances and input saturation.First,a virtual guidance control strategy is established on the basis of tracking error kinematics,which resolves the overall control system into two cascade subsystems.Then,a first-order sliding mode differentiator is introduced in the derivation to avoid tedious analytic calculation,and a Gaussian error function-based continuous differentiable symmetric saturation model is explored to tackle the issue of input saturation.Combined with backstepping design techniques,the neural network control method and an adaptive control approach are used to estimate composite items of the unknown uncertainty and approximation errors.Meanwhile,Lyapunov-based stability analysis guarantees that control error signals of the closed-loop system are uniformly ultimately bounded.Finally,simulation studies are conducted for the trajectory tracking of a moving target and a spiral line to validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller. 展开更多

In order to solve this problem, a sliding-mode control(SMC) scheme is technically employed by using the backstepping approach to make the dynamic system stable. In addition,SMC with the tanh-type switching function plays an important role in reducing intrinsic vibration. Furthermore, an auxiliary system(AS) is developed to compensate for nonlinear terms arising from input saturation. Finally, the simulation results provide a solution to demonstrate that the suggested SMC and the AS methodology have advantages of strong tracking capability, anti-interference ability and anti-saturation performance. 展开更多

A backstepping method is used for nonlinear spacecraft attitude stabilization in the presence of external disturbances and time delay induced by the actuator. The kinematic model is established based on modified Rodrigues parameters (MRPs). Firstly, we get the desired angular velocity virtually drives the attitude parameters to origin, and then backstep it to the desired control torque required for stabilization. Considering the time delay induced by the actuator, the control torque functions only after the delayed time, therefore time compensation is needed in the controller. Stability analysis of the close-loop system is given afterwards. The infinite dimensional actuator state is modeled with a first-order hyperbolic partial differential equation (PDE), the L-2 norm of the system state is constructed and is proved to be exponentially stable. An inverse optimality theorem is also employed during controller design. Simulation results illustrate the efficiency of the proposed control law and it is robust to bounded external disturbances and time delay mismatch. 展开更多

The classic multi-mode input shapers(MMISs)are valid to decrease multi-mode residual vibration of manipulators or robots simultaneously.But these input shapers cannot suppress more residual vibration with a quick response time when the frequency bandwidth of each mode vibration is very different.The methodologies and various types of multi-mode classic and hybrid input shaping control schemes with positive impulses were introduced in this paper.Six types of two-mode hybrid input shapers with positive impulses of a 3 degree of freedom robot were established.The ability and robustness of these two-mode hybrid input shapers to suppress residual vibration were analyzed by vibration response curve and sensitivity curve via numerical simulation.The response time of the zero vibration-zero vibration and derivative(ZV-ZVD)input shaper is the fastest,but the robustness is the least.The robustness of the zero vibration and derivative-extra insensitive(ZVD-EI)input shaper is the best,while the response time is the longest.According to the frequency bandwidth at each mode and required system response time,the most appropriate multi-mode hybrid input shaper(MMHIS)can be selected in order to improve response time as much as possible under the condition of suppressing more residual vibration. 展开更多

Input variables selection(IVS) is proved to be pivotal in nonlinear dynamic system modeling. In order to optimize the model of the nonlinear dynamic system, a fuzzy modeling method for determining the premise structure by selecting important inputs of the system is studied. Firstly, a simplified two stage fuzzy curves method is proposed, which is employed to sort all possible inputs by their relevance with outputs, select the important input variables of the system and identify the structure.Secondly, in order to reduce the complexity of the model, the standard fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm and the recursive least squares algorithm are used to identify the premise parameters and conclusion parameters, respectively. Then, the effectiveness of IVS is verified by two well-known issues. Finally, the proposed identification method is applied to a realistic variable load pneumatic system. The simulation experiments indi cate that the IVS method in this paper has a positive influence on the approximation performance of the Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy modeling. 展开更多

This paper presents augmented input estimation(AIE)for multiple maneuvering target tracking.Multi-target tracking(MTT)is based on two main parts,data association and estimation.In data association(DA),the best observations are assigned to the considered tracks.In real conditions,the number of observations is more than targets and also locations of observations are often so scattered that the association between targets and observations cannot be done simply.In this case,for general MTT problems with unknown numbers of targets,we present a Markov chain Monte-Carlo DA(MCMCDA)algorithm that approximates the optimal Bayesian filter with low complexity in computations.After DA,estimation and tracking should be done.Since in general cases,many targets can have maneuvering motions,then AIE is proposed to cover both the non-maneuvering and maneuvering parts of motion and the maneuver detection procedure is eliminated.This model with an input estimation(IE)approach is a special augmentation in the state space model which considers both the state vector and the unknown input vector as a new augmented state vector.Some comparisons based on the Monte-Carlo simulations are also made to evaluate the performances of the proposed method and other older methods in MTT. 展开更多

By use of the global PPMLR Magnetohydrodynamics(MHD) model,a serial of quasisteady-state numerical simulations were conducted to examine the modulation property of the interplanetary magnetic field clock angle θ on the solar wind energy input into the magnetosphere.All the simulations can be divided into seven groups according to different criteria of solar wind conditions.For each group,37 numerical examples are analyzed,with the clock angle varying from 0° to 360° with an interval of 10°,keeping the other solar wind parameters(such as the solar wind number density,velocity,and the magnetic field magnitude) unchanged.As expected,the solar wind energy input into the magnetosphere is modulated by the IMF clock angle.The axisymmetrical bell-shaped curve peaks at the clock angle of 180°.However,the modulation effect remains invariant with varying other solar wind conditions.The function form of such an invariant modulation is found to be sin(0/2)^(2.70) + 0.25. 展开更多

The basic idea is to minimize the H2 norm of the transfer function from disturbance to estimation error using the design degrees of freedom provided by a parametric approach in the observer design. Besides the design parameters, the eigenvalues of the closed-loop system are also optimized within desired regions on the left-half of the complex plane. Using the proposed approach, additional specifications can be easily achieved. A spring-mass system is using to show the effect of the proposed approaches. 展开更多

This paper studies the global fixed time synchronization of complex dynamical network,including non-identical nodes with disturbances and uncertainties as well as input nonlinearity.First,a novel fixed time sliding manifold is constructed to achieve the fixed time synchronization of complex dynamical network with disturbances and uncertainties.Second,a novel sliding mode controller is proposed to realize the global fixed time reachability of sliding surfaces.The outstanding feature of the designed control is that the fixed convergence time of both reaching and sliding modes can be adjusted to the desired values in advance by choosing the explicit parameters in the controller,which does not rest upon the initial conditions and the topology of the network.Finally,the effectiveness and validity of the obtained results are demonstrated by corresponding numerical simulations. 展开更多
