Pressure measurements of two typical sections, one train-head section and one train-body section, at the windward and leeward tracks were conducted under the smooth and turbulence flows with wind attack angles between-6° and 6°, and the corresponding aerodynamic force coefficients were also calculated using the integral method. The experimental results indicate that the track position affects the mean aerodynamic characteristics of the vehicle, especially for the train-body section. The fluctuating pressure coefficients at the leeward track are more significantly affected by the bridge interference compared to those at the windward track. The effect of turbulence on the train-head section is less than that on the train-body section. Additionally, the mean aerodynamic force coefficients are almost negatively correlated to wind attack angles, which is more prominent for vehicles at the leeward track. Moreover, the lateral force plays a critical role in determining the corresponding overturning moment, especially on the train-body section.展开更多

According to structural characteristic of a slab track, a new spatial vibration model of track segment element of the slab track was put forward. The spatial vibration equation set of the high-speed train and slab track system was then established on the basis of the principle of total potential energy with stationary value in elastic system dynamics and the rule of "set-in-right-position" for formulating system matrices. The equation set was solved by the Wilson-θ direct integration method. The contents mentioned above constitute the analysis theory of spatial vibration of high-speed train and slab track system. The theory was then verified by the high-speed running experiment carried out on the slab track in the Qinghuangdao-Shenyang passenger transport line. The results show that the calculated results agree well with the measured rcsults, such as the calculated lateral and vertical rail displacements are 0.82 mm and 0.9 mm and the measured ones 0.75 mm and 0.93 mm, respectively; the calculated lateral and vertical wheel-rail forces are 8.9 kN and 102.3 kN and the measured ones 8.6 kN and 80.2 kN, respectively. The interpolation method, that is, the lateral finite strip and slab segment element, for slab deformation proposed is of simplification and applicability compared with the traditional plate element method. All of these demonstrate the reliability of the theory proposed.展开更多

Numerical simulations are conducted, and the rainwater accumulation and flow characteristics over two types of windshields are studied based on the presented model. The results show that an uneven water film is formed over the windshield, with rain water accumulation occurring for the concave windshield but not for the convex windshield. At low speeds, the average fluid-film thickness for a concave windshield is larger than that of a convex windshield;however, a minor difference occurs between these two values at high speeds, and a critical velocity is observed for the two types of windshields. When the train velocity is less than the critical velocity, the fluid film at the lower part of the windshield and the train nose flows downward, and beyond the critical velocity, the fluid film over the entire windshield and train nose flows upward.展开更多

Wear of wheel profiles has great effect on vehicle performance. Thus, it is important not just for the analysis of wear characteristics but for its prediction. Actual wheel profiles of the high-speed trains on service were measured in the high-speed line and the wear characteristics were analyzed which came to the following results. The wear location was centralized from-15 mm to 25 mm. The maximum wear value appeared at the area of 5 mm from tread center far from wheel flange and it was less than 1.5 mm. Then, wheel wear was fitted to get the polynomial functions on different locations and operation mileages. A binary numerical prediction model was raised to predict wheel wear. The prediction model was proved by vehicle system dynamics and wheel/rail contact geometry. 文摘The motor and trailer cars of a high-speed train were modeled as a multi-rigid body system with two suspensions. All of these demonstrate the reliability of the theory proposed.

文摘Calculation grid and turbulence model for numerical simulating pressure fluctuations in a high-speed train tunnel are studied through the comparison analysis of numerical simulation and moving model test.Compared the waveforms and peak-peak values of pressure fluctuations between numerical simulation and moving model test, the structured grid and the SST k-ωturbulence model are selected for numerical simulating the process of high-speed train passing through the tunnel. The largest value of pressure wave amplitudes of numerical simulation and moving model test meet each other. And the locations of the largest value of the initial compression and expansion wave amplitude of numerical simulation are in agreement with that of moving model test. The calculated pressure at the measurement point fully conforms to the propagation law of compression and expansion waves in the tunnel.

文摘In this paper, a Euler-Lagrangian particle/fluid film/VOF coupled multiphase flow model is presented. When the train velocity is less than the critical velocity, the fluid film at the lower part of the windshield and the train nose flows downward, and beyond the critical velocity, the fluid film over the entire windshield and train nose flows upward.

文摘Taking a high-speed train in China as an example, using computer simulation technology and comparing with the test data, the three current methods including linear stability analysis method, nonlinear stability analysis method and the field testing criterion are studied to evaluate stability of high-speed trains.A new stability evaluation method is proposed which can be used to evaluate lateral stability of high-speed vehicle based on the codes of UIC 515and UIC 518.From the viewpoint of taking the most unfavorable track conditions into account and improving the safety margin, the new method uses the root mean square of bogie lateral acceleration as a criterion to evaluate the lateral stability of high-speed trains.Numerical example shows that the proposed method not only considers the forced vibration caused by track irregularities in the actual practice, but also takes the instability self-excited vibration into account,so it can realize early warning of bogie slight unstable oscillation, meanwhile the method itself does not involve complex algorithms which has the possibility of engineering applications.

文摘A set of acoustic optimization design methods is established by combining the flow field deterioration theory and the acoustic analogy theory, and applied to the acoustic optimization design of high-speed train snow-plough.The results show that the streamline bodies of the head/tail car are the most important sound sources, respectively, accounting for 23.7%and 33.7%of the total sound energy.Compared with the streamline body of tail head, the streamline body of head car is more biased towards high frequency for the sound source energy. The A-weighted radiated noise of the train body is characterized by broadband sound(mainly in the range of 1-4 kHz)and peak features(especially at 2 kHz).The snow-plough with the maximum expansion length can mitigate the strong peak effect of the sound at 2 kHz,reduce the total sound energy, and show the best acoustic radiation performance in the four schemes. The numerical computation model was checked by the wind tunnel test results.

文摘China’s high-speed railways are always facing the potential damage risk induced by strong earthquakes. And the route design concept of“using bridge instead of embankment”has also greatly increased the probability of high speed trains moving on bridges when a strong earthquake happens. In the past decades,a bunch of theoretical and numerical studies have been conducted in the seismic dynamic field of high-speed railway. However, the effective dynamic test system for verifying the given method and theoretical results is still lacking. Therefore,a novel dynamic test system(DTS)consisting of a shaking table array and a train-pass-bridge reduced-scale model is proposed in this paper.Through some crucial technical problems discussion, the effectiveness of similar design scheme and the feasibility of reduced-scale DTS are elaborated, and then the detailed DTS structures are given and displayed as part-by-part.On this basis, the demonstration tests are conducted and compared with the numerical simulation. The results show that the proposed DTS is accurate and effective. Therefore, the DTS can provide a new physical simulation approach to study the high-speed train’s running safety on bridges under earthquakes and can also provide a reference for the construction of related systems.

文摘The interaction between the car-body vibration and aerodynamic performance of the train becomes more prominent motivated by the vehicle’s light-weighting design. To address this topic, this study firstly analyzes the posture characteristics of the car-body based on the previous full-scale test results. And then the aerodynamic performance under different vibration cases(different car-body roll angles)is studied with an improved delayed detached eddy simulation(IDDES).The results revealed that car-body rolling had a significant impact on the aerodynamic behavior of bogies, which significantly increased the lateral force and yaw moment of a bogie and further may have aggravated the operational instability of the train. The unbalanced distribution of the longitudinal pressure on both sides of the bogie caused by the car-body rolling motion was the primary cause for the bogie yaw moment increase. The tail vortex of the train was also affected by the car-body rolling, resulting in vertical jitter.

文摘The complex structure of the bottom of a high-speed train is an important source of train aerodynamic drag. Thus, improving the bottom structure is of great significance to reduce the aerodynamic drag of the train. In this study, computational fluid dynamics(CFD)based on three-dimensional steady incompressible Reynolds-average Naiver-Stokes(RANS)equations and Realizable k-εturbulence model were utilized for numerical simulations.Inspired by the concept of streamlined design and the idea of bottom flow field control, this study iteratively designed the bogies in a streamlined shape and combined them with the bottom deflectors to investigate the joint drag reduction mechanism.Three models,i.e.,single-bogie model, simplified train model, and eight-car high-speed train model, were created and their aerodynamic characteristics were analyzed. The results show that the single-bogie model with streamlined design shows a noticeable drag reduction, whose power bogie and trailer bogie experience 13.92%and 7.63%drag reduction, respectively. The range of positive pressure area on the bogie is reduced. The aerodynamic drag can be further reduced to 15.01%by installing both the streamlined bogie and the deflector on the simplified train model. When the streamlined bogies and deflectors are used on the eight-car model together, the total drag reduction rate reaches 2.90%.Therefore,the proposed aerodynamic kit for the high-speed train bottom is capable to improve the flow structure around the bogie regions, reduce the bottom flow velocity, and narrow the scope of the train’s influence on the surrounding environment, achieving the appreciable reduction of aerodynamic drag. This paper can provide a new idea for the drag reduction of high-speed trains.

文摘Analysis of the aerodynamic performance of high-speed trains in special cuts would provide references for the critical overturning velocity and complement the operation safety management under strong winds. This work was conducted to investigate the flow structure around trains under different cut depths, slope angles using computational fluid dynamics(CFD).The high-speed train was considered with bogies and inter-carriage gaps. And the accuracy of the numerical method was validated by combining with the experimental data of wind tunnel tests. Then, the variations of aerodynamic forces and surface pressure distribution of the train were mainly analyzed. The results show that the surroundings of cuts along the railway line have a great effect on the crosswind stability of trains. With the slope angle and depth of the cut increasing, the coefficients of aerodynamic forces tend to reduce. An angle of 75°is chosen as the optimum one for the follow-up research.Under different depth conditions, the reasonable cut depth for high-speed trains to run safely is 3 m lower than that of the conventional cut whose slope ratio is 1:1.5.Furthermore,the windward slope angle is more important than the leeward one for the train aerodynamic performance.Due to the shield of appropriate cuts, the train body is in a minor positive pressure environment. Thus, designing a suitable cut can contribute to improving the operation safety of high-speed trains.

文摘Wheel/rail relationship is a fundamental problem of railway system. The results show that the prediction model can reflect wear characteristics of measured profiles and vehicle performances.
