Hardening mechanism and thermal-solid coupling model of laminar plasma surface hardening of 65 Mn steel

In the present work,the laminar plasma surface hardening method is employed to enhance the service life of metal components fabricated from 65 Mn steel.The mechanical and wear behaviors of the laminar plasma surface hardened 65 Mn steel were analyzed.The martensite transition transformation of the temperature of the laminar plasma-hardened 65 ferrite Mn steel was determined by a thermal-solid coupling model.Based on the orthogonal experimental results,the optimal hardening parameters were confirmed.The scanning velocity,quenching distance and arc current are 130 mm/min,50 mm and 120 A,respectively.The pearlites and ferrites are transformed into martensites in the hardened zone,while the ratio of martensite in the heataffected zone decreases with the increase in the hardening depth.Compared to the untreated 65Mn steel,the average hardness increases from 220 HV_(0.2)to 920 HV_(0.2)in the hardened zone and the corresponding absorbed power increases from 118.7 J to 175.5 J.At the same time,the average coefficient of friction(COF)decreases from 0.763 to 0.546,and the wear rate decreases from 5.39×10^(-6)mm^(3)/(N·m)to 2.95×10^(-6)mm^(3)/(N·m),indicating that the wear resistance of 65Mn steel could be significantly improved by using laminar surface hardening.With the same hardening parameters,the depth and width of the hardened zone predicted by the thermal-solid coupling model are 1.85 mm and 11.20 mm,respectively,which are in accordance with the experimental results;depth is 1.83 mm and width is 11.15 mm.In addition,the predicted hardness distributions of the simulation model are in accordance with the experimental results.These results indicate that the simulation model could effectively predict the microstructure characteristics of 65 Mn steel. 展开更多

In this paper,the channel impulse response matrix(CIRM)can be expressed as a sum of couplings between the steering vectors at the base station(BS)and the eigenbases at the mobile station(MS).Nakagami distribution was used to describe the fading of the coupling between the steering vectors and the eigenbases.Extensive measurements were carried out to evaluate the performance of this proposed model.Furthermore,the physical implications of this model were illustrated and the capacities are analyzed.In addition,the azimuthal power spectrum(APS)of several models was analyzed.Finally,the channel hardening effect was simulated and discussed.Results showed that the proposed model provides a better fit to the measured results than the other CBSM,i.e.,Weichselberger model.Moreover,the proposed model can provide better tradeoff between accuracy and complexity in channel synthesis.This CIRM model can be used for massive MIMO design in the future communication system design. 展开更多

Nanorubber/epoxy composites containing 0,2,6 and 10 wt%nanorubber are subjected to uniaxial compression over a wide range of strain rate from 8×10^(-4) s^(-1) to~2×10^(4) s^(-1).Unexpectedly,their strain rate sensitivity and strain hardening index increase with increasing nanorubber content.Potential mechanisms are proposed based on numerical simulations using a unit cell model.An increase in the strain rate sensitivity with increasing nanorubber content results from the fact that the nanorubber becomes less incompressible at high strain,generating a higher hydro-static pressure.Adiabatic shear localization starts to occur in the epoxy under a strain rate of 22,000 s^(-1) when the strain exceeds 0.35.The presence of nanorubber in the epoxy reduces adiabatic shear localization by preventing it from propagating. 展开更多

Buck-Boost converter in the total dose radiation environment will mainly bring the output voltage drift, linear adjustment rate and load adjustment rate decline and other effects, so that the output stability performance of the circuit deteriorates. Aiming at the problems of high cost,large layout area and poor universality caused by the traditional total ionizing dose effect hardening method based on process and layout, this paper proposes a total ionizing dose effect hardening design method with parallel monitoring and hardening, which can achieve total ionizing dose effect hardening at the circuit level without process. The anti-total dose capability of Buck-Boost converter is improved. The circuit design and physical implementation of the proposed method are verified based on 0.18 μm bipolar complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS) double-diffused metal-oxide-semiconductor(DMOS)(BCD) process. The results show that the system gain decrease rate can be compensated from 19.2% to 6.2%, and the output voltage shift rate can be improved from 2.00% to 0.15% at a dose of 200×10^(3) rad(Si). Moreover, the load adjustment rate and linear adjustment rate are reduced. They are respectively decreased to 0.191 %/A and 0.093 %/V. This provides a new idea for the design of total ionizing dose effect hardening at circuit and system level. 展开更多

Influences of admixtures on the workability and strength of high performance concrete (HPC) are in- vestigated. The types of investigated admixtures include naphthalene series high range water reducing agent, polycarboxlic series high range water reduce agent and sodium sulfate hardening accelerating agent. Two kinds of curing condition, namely steam curing condition and standard curing condition, are adopted. The result shows that HPC, added with polycarboxlic series of high performance water reducer, has high workability and strength, while sodium sulfate accelerating agent causes poor workability and low strength. Thus for vapor-cured HPC and its formulations, naphthalene series high range water reducing agent with less sodium sulfate should be given pri- ority. Therefore, the differences of curing conditions should be considered when selecting HPC admixtures. 展开更多

The grinding temperature and the cooling rate are measured in the grind-hardening process of 40Cr steel under different conditions. Moreover, the grind-hardening effects are investigated. Experimental results show that the calculated temperatures are comparatively close to the measured ones, and the required temperature and cooling rate can be achieved. Furthermore, the microstructure of the hardened zone is similar to that obtained through the high-frequency induction technique. The average hardness of the entirely hardened zone is HV670 and the thickness of the hardened layer is adjacent to 1.3 mm. It indicates that the hardening mechanism induced by the grinding heat and high-frequency heating is identical. Finally, the fine needlelike martensite is obtained. 展开更多

针对传统一维Terzaghi固结理论的局限性,本文引入了考虑时间效应的UH (unified hardening)本构模型,将Hansbo渗流模型耦合到UH本构模型固结方程中,建立了几种典型循环荷载作用下基于UH模型和考虑Hansbo渗流模型的固结方程。采用FlexPDE... 针对传统一维Terzaghi固结理论的局限性,本文引入了考虑时间效应的UH (unified hardening)本构模型,将Hansbo渗流模型耦合到UH本构模型固结方程中,建立了几种典型循环荷载作用下基于UH模型和考虑Hansbo渗流模型的固结方程。采用FlexPDE软件进行了数值分析,将计算结果与已有文献结果对比,验证了该算法的可靠性。在此基础上,研究了饱和黏土在几种典型循环荷载作用下的渗流固结特性,分析了各模型参数对饱和黏土固结特性的影响。结果表明:在循环荷载作用下,地基的平均固结度、沉降量等始终处于循环状态;Hansbo渗流模型参数对平均固结度的影响相对于Darcy渗流参数影响程度较大,其中UH模型中次固结系数对固结过程影响程度较大。另外,Hansbo渗流参数及土的回弹指数和渗透指数等对固结过程的影响主要体现在中期,固结过程后期将处于稳定循环状态。 展开更多

To evaluate the new designed cutting tools for high-efficiency milling of the hardened die steel SKD11,surface integrities of millers with different geometric structures are analyzed, considering the surface roughness, micrograph of chips, surface microhardness, residual stress and metallurgical texture of the surface layer. The in fluences of geometric characteristics of different cutting tools and their wear characteristics on the surface integrity are studied. Results show that the milling tool with rake angle; 5 of the hardened diesteel. The generation of saw-tooth chips is depressed when a reasonable positive rake angle is selected. And the compressive residual stress is induced on the machined surface in milling the hardened die steel. The occurrence of surface softening is postponed by increasing the clearance angle and reducing the tool flank wear. 展开更多

To select high performance milling tools with optimum geometry structure suitable for machining hardened steel SKD11, geometry structures of tools are optimized. Four kinds of TiAlN coated cemented carbide tools are developed. The milling performance in high-speed milling hardened steel SKD11 by using these four kinds of tools is evaluated through the aspects of cutting force, cutting vibration, chip deformation, tool life, and tool wear mechanism, thus determining the optimum milling tool. The tool life of the optimum tool is 3 times of that of other tool, and the cutting force and vibration decrease by 70% compared with that of other tools. To study the strength properties and evolution laws of cracked sandstone samples in re-loading tests,strength and damage evolution properties of intact sandstone samples were first analyzed through the triaxial compression tests carried on TAW-2000 microcomputer control electro-hydraulic servo rock triaxial test system.Damage evolution models were established based on dilatancy properties realizing the real-time and quantitative evaluation of samples damage state in loading process.On this basis,samples with different damage were obtained by pre-peak,peak point,post-peak and residual strength stage unloading tests in the loading process of intact samples.The characteristics of the stress-strain curves and strength evolution laws were studied through the re-loading tests of samples with different damage under different stress states.The experimental results showed that the slope of stress-strain curves,peak strength and residual strength of cracked samples increased linearly with confining pressure and decreased linearly with damage.The equivalent cohesion decreased with damage in the exponential decay curves.The mechanics properties of samples transformed from strain softening to strain hardening with damage. 展开更多

The shear characteristics of soil-structure interfaces with different roughness are studied systematically by us-ing the DRS-1 high normal stress and residual shear apparatus. The experimental results indicate that,under a relatively high normal stress,normal stress and the coefficient of structural roughness are the most important factors affecting the mechanical interface characteristics. The relationship between shear stress and shear displacement of the soil-structure interface is a hyperbolic curve with high regression accuracy. Based on our experimental results,a nonlinear elastic con-stitutive model of the soil-structure interface under relatively high normal stress is established with a definite physical meaning for its parameters. The model can predict the strain hardening behavior of the soil during the shearing process. The results show an encouraging agreement with experimental data from direct shear tests. 展开更多

Dry milling of S136 hardened steel is carried out using TiAlN coated carbide micro-end mill (2 mm).The effect of cutting speed, feed per tooth and radial depth of cut on cutting force is analyzed. Cutting parameters adapting to dry machining and strategy optimized for higher rate of material removal with lower cutting force are attained. Results of SEM observation show that the main failure patterns of micro-end mill are breakage of tool tip, wear and drop-off of surface coating, micro-chipping, and breakage of flank. 展开更多

In the present paper we study the influences of the bias voltage and the external components on the damage progress of a bipolar transistor induced by high-power microwaves. The mechanism is presented by analyzing the variation in the internal distribution of the temperature in the device. The findings show that the device becomes less vulnerable to damage with an increase in bias voltage. Both the series diode at the base and the relatively low series resistance at the emitter, Re, can obviously prolong the burnout time of the device. However, Re will aid damage to the device when the value is sufficiently high due to the fact that the highest hot spot shifts from the base-emitter junction to the base region. Moreover, the series resistance at the base Rb will weaken the capability of the device to withstand microwave damage. 展开更多

In order to solve the hardening problem of complex calcium lubricating grease, the water absorption test of several calcium salts was carried out, and it was found that calcium 12-hydroxystearate did not absorb water, and calcium acetate, calcium phosphate and calcium borate had different degrees of water absorption. Calcium acetate has the highest water absorption rate, while calcium phosphate and calcium borate show comparable water absorption rates. Upon using the molecular simulation technology, it is found that in the complex calcium grease system, calcium phosphate and calcium borate tend to combine with water, which inhibits the water absorption of calcium acetate and alleviate the hardening problem. 展开更多

In this work,coarse-grained 316 L stainless steels were cold rolled with a thickness reduction of^83%(CR 83%).After annealing,the behaviors of the nanostructured stainless steel samples were systematically investigated in the temperatures range of 200C–650C.It was found that with increasing annealing temperature the volume fraction of theα0-martensite first increased to reach a maximum value at 400C,then the volume fraction decreased with further increases of the annealing temperature.The yield strength was increased from 1400 MPa to 1720 MPa after annealing;this strong hardening effect in cold rolled 316 L stainless steel was mainly attributed to the increase of the volume fraction ofα0-martensite. 展开更多

In high-speed machining,hardened steel materials are subjected to high temperatures and high strain rates.Under these conditions,the composition and microstructure of the material may change,and phenomena,such as thermal softening,emerge.These effects are difficult to detect by only observing the chip morphology.Here,using a microscopic detection method,the dynamic mechanical behavior and microstructure of SDK11 hardened steel(62HRC)is investigated at high temperature and high strain-rate,and the relationship between strain hardening,thermal softening,and strain-rate strengthening is determined.The metallographic phases of specimens treated using a split-Hopkinson pressure bar,and″chips″generated during high-speed machining at high temperature and high strain rate state are compared.The results indicate that the phase composition at low temperature and low strain rate differs from that at high temperature and high strain rate.It is further concluded that shear slip occurs at high temperature and high strain rate,and the shear behavior is more pronounced at higher strain rates. 展开更多

A dual double interlocked storage cell(DICE)interleaving layout static random-access memory(SRAM)is designed and manufactured based on 65 nm bulk complementary metal oxide semiconductor technology.The single event upset(SEU)cross sections of this memory are obtained via heavy ion irradiation with a linear energy transfer(LET)value ranging from 1.7 to 83.4 MeV/(mg/cm^(2)).Experimental results show that the upset threshold(LETth)of a 4 KB block is approximately 6 MeV/(mg/cm^(2)),which is much better than that of a standard unhardened SRAM with an identical technology node.A 1 KB block has a higher LETth of 25 MeV/(mg/cm^(2))owing to the use of the error detection and correction(EDAC)code.For a Ta ion irradiation test with the highest LET value(83.4 MeV/(mg/cm^(2))),the benefit of the EDAC code is reduced significantly because the multi-bit upset proportion in the SEU is increased remarkably.Compared with normal incident ions,the memory exhibits a higher SEU sensitivity in the tilt angle irradiation test.Moreover,the SEU cross section indicates a significant dependence on the data pattern.When comprehensively considering HSPICE simulation results and the sensitive area distributions of the DICE cell,it is shown that the data pattern dependence is primarily associated with the arrangement of sensitive transistor pairs in the layout.Finally,some suggestions are provided to further improve the radiation resistance of the memory.By implementing a particular design at the layout level,the SEU tolerance of the memory is improved significantly at a low area cost.Therefore,the designed 65 nm SRAM is suitable for electronic systems operating in serious radiation environments. 展开更多
