The Main Optical Telescope (MOT) is an important payload of the Space Solar Telescope (SST) with various instruments and observation modes. Its real-time data handling and management and control tasks are arduous. Based on the advanced techniques of foreign countries, an improved structure of onboard data handling systems feasible for SST, is proposed. This article concentrated on the development of a Central Management & Control Unit (MCU) based on FPGA and DSP. Through reconfigurating the FPGA and DSP programs, the prototype could perform different tasks. Thus the inheritability of the whole system is improved. The completed dual-channel prototype proves that the system meets all requirements of the MOT. Its high reliability and safety features also meet the requirements under harsh conditions such as mine detection. 展开更多

With the construction of new power systems,the power grid has become extremely large,with an increasing proportion of new energy and AC/DC hybrid connections.The dynamic characteristics and fault patterns of the power grid are complex;additionally,power grid control is difficult,operation risks are high,and the task of fault handling is arduous.Traditional power-grid fault handling relies primarily on human experience.The difference in and lack of knowledge reserve of control personnel restrict the accuracy and timeliness of fault handling.Therefore,this mode of operation is no longer suitable for the requirements of new systems.Based on the multi-source heterogeneous data of power grid dispatch,this paper proposes a joint entity–relationship extraction method for power-grid dispatch fault processing based on a pre-trained model,constructs a knowledge graph of power-grid dispatch fault processing and designs,and develops a fault-processing auxiliary decision-making system based on the knowledge graph.It was applied to study a provincial dispatch control center,and it effectively improved the accident processing ability and intelligent level of accident management and control of the power grid. 展开更多

Water projects’ sediment deposition problems always cause widespread concerns. The gravity of them varies in accordance not only with reservoirs’ natural and socio-economic characteristics but also with their modes of operation. The unique characteristics, configuration and mode of operation of Three Gorges Project (TGP) reservoir are compared with those of several existing large reservoirs in this paper. As many reservoirs are troubling environment by gradually extending coarse sediment deposition at the uppermost end of fluctuating backwater region toward upstream, Gezhouba reservoir on Yangtze and Danjiangkou reservoir on Hanjiang have shown no trace of such upstream extension of sediment deposition in relevant prototype observation data for the past 20 and more years. TGP reservoir’s in-coming flow sediment conditions and configuration in plane are almost the same as those of Gezhouba reservoir, and TGP reservoir’s mode of operation(usually keeping a very low pool level for flood control in flood season and storing up in-coming flow only thenceafter) is similar to that of Danjiangkou reservoir. New findings of sediment research and prototype flow sediment investigations as well as new agenda of large hydro projects’ construction on Jinshajiang in nearest future assure the prospects of TGP sediment handling. 展开更多

This paper researches how to apply the advanced control technology of model predictive control (MPC) to the design of the dynamic positioning system (DPS) of a semi-submersible platform. First, a linear low-frequency motion model with three degrees of freedom was established in the context of a semi-submersible platform. Second, a model predictive controller was designed based on a model which took the constraints of the system into account. Third, simulation was carried out to demonstrate the feasibility of the controller. The results show that the model predictive controller has good performance and good at dealing with the constraints or the system. 展开更多

Mooring systems play an important role for semi-submersible rigs that drill in deepwater.A detailed analysis was carried out on the mooring of a semi-submersible rig that conducted a trial well drilling at a deepwater location in the South China Sea in 2009.The rig was 30 years old and had a shallow platform with a designed maximum operating water depth of 457 m.Following the mooring analysis,a mooring design was given that requires upgrading of the rig’s original mooring system.The upgrade included several innovations,such as installing eight larger anchors,i.e.replacing the original anchors and inserting an additional 600 m of steel wires with the existing chains.All this was done to enhance the mooring capability of the rig in order for the rig to be held in position to conduct drilling at a water depth of 476 m.The overall duration of the drilling was 50 days and the upgraded mooring system proved to be efficient in achieving the goal of keeping the rig stationary while it was drilling the trial well in the South China Sea.This successful campaign demonstrates that an older semi-submersible rig can take on drilling in deep water after careful design and proper upgrading and modification to the original mooring system. 展开更多

In partnership with Foresight Energy, J. H. Fletcher & Company was tasked to design and manufacture a new roof bolting machine with six independent drilling apparatus on board capable of drilling and bolting the roof and ribs with material handling. The objective was to produce a machine capable of drilling and installing six bolts simultaneously with a limited number of operators. The goal of the mine is to decrease the time to bolt a cut to improve the safety level of the current roof bolting method, improve efficiency and to improve the bottom line cost of entry development. The customer wanted four drills at the front of the machine dedicated to installing roof bolts and then another two drills behind them dedicated to rib bolts. This dictated the requirement of latched controls, which would allow the operator to start drilling one hole and then latch the controls to be able to move on to the next.The result of the design is a machine with a single platform and six independent masts with drillheads:four masts strictly for drilling and installing roof bolts on the front of the platform and two masts on the back of the platform for rib bolts. The controls at each operator's station include a latch control for drilling. The six-head roof bolter allows fewer operators to drill and install roof and rib bolts, which in turn lowers the miners' roof exposure per cut. This design reduces the operator's exposure from the inherent pinch points and rotary hazards once he has engaged the latch drilling. Therefore, the machine will help to decrease the time to bolt a cut, improving productivity while enhancing the ability to operate the machine safely. 展开更多

This paper begins with a brief introduction of the embedded real-time operating system VxWorks and CompactPCI standard, then gives the programming interfaces of Peripheral Controller Interface (PCI) configuring, interrupts handling and multi-tasks programming interface under VxWorks, and then emphasis is placed on the software frameworks of CPCI interrupt management based on multi-tasks. This method is sound in design and easy to adapt, ensures that all possible interrupts are handled in time, which makes it suitable for data acquisition systems with multi-channels, a high data rate, and hard real-time high energy physics. 展开更多

Secure storage yard is one of the optimal core goals of container transportation;thus,making the necessary storage arrangements has become the most crucial part of the container terminal management systems(CTMS).This paper investigates a random hybrid stacking algorithm(RHSA) for outbound containers that randomly enter the yard.In the first stage of RHSA,the distribution among blocks was analyzed with respect to the utilization ratio.In the second stage,the optimization of bay configuration was carried out by using the hybrid genetic algorithm.Moreover,an experiment was performed to test the RHSA.The results show that the explored algorithm is useful to increase the efficiency. 展开更多

The research results show that the deteriorating tendency of the steering stability due to the increase of the vehicle speed is improved obviously in the case of four-wheel steering. The approach of variable steering ratio is discussed. The use of the variable steering ratio can not only raise the steering stability of vechicles at high vehicle speed, but also reduce the dicomfort and steering burden of drivers; and hence is helpful for the subjective evaluation of four-wheel steering vehicles. 展开更多
