The effects of pre-compression and pre-aging on the age-hardening response and microstructure of Mg-9.8Sn3.0 Zn(wt.%)alloy have been investigated via hardness test and advanced electron microscopy.The alloy subjected to both pre-compression and pre-aging exhibits the most refined and densest distribution of precipitates upon aging at 200℃,leading to the superior age-hardening performance observed in the alloy.Comparatively,the alloy that underwent only pre-aging displayed a greater number density of precipitates than its counterpart that was neither pre-compressed nor pre-aged when both were aged to their peak conditions at 200℃,indicating an enhanced age-hardening response in the pre-aged alloy.The precipitates in these three peak-aged alloys consist of Mg_(2)Sn and MgZn_(2)phases.The reason why the pre-aged alloy has a higher number density of precipitates than the directly aged alloy is that MgZn_(2)phase formed during pre-aging can serve as heterogeneous nucleation site for the formation of Mg_(2)Sn.The reason why the pre compression and pre-aged alloy has the highest number density of precipitates is that Mg_(3)Sn and MgZn_(2)phases formed during pre-aging,alongside lattice defects introduced during pre-compression,collectively act as effective heterogeneous nucleation sites for the formation of Mg_(2)Sn during the subsequent aging at 200℃. 展开更多

The deformation and recrystallization textures of 6111 Al alloy with various precipitation states have been investigated by means of the orientation distribution functions (ODFs). It was found that the precipitation state had significant effects on both rolling and recrystallization textures of Al alloy. For the alloy with no or little precipitate, the orientation intensities were distributed more homogeneously along the β-fiber. With increasing aging temperature, the orientation intensities along the β-fiber increased firstly and decreased then. Simultaneity, the orientation intensities along the β-fiber were distributed more and more inhomogeneously. On the other hand, with the precipitates increasing the recrystallization textures changed gradually from {001}<UVW> and very weak {011}<111> orientation to the strong {001}<311> and {011}<111> orientation. 展开更多

The calculated results were... Precipitation behavior of Ti in high strength steels was investigated by means of the equilibrium solid solubility theory. The contributions of Ti content to yield strength were calculated. The calculated results were verified by the hot rolling experiment for C–Mn steel and C–Mn–Ti micro alloyed steel, respectively. The research results show that the precipitates are mainly Ti N at the higher temperature. With the decreasing temperature, the proportion of Ti C in precipitates increases gradually. When the temperature drops to 800 °C, Ti C will become predominant for the precipitation of Ti. When Ti content is less than 0.014%(mass fraction), Ti has little influence on the yield strength. When Ti content is in the range of 0.014%–0.03%(mass fraction), the yield strength of Ti micro alloyed steel is greatly increased, which leads to instability of the mechanical properties of the steel. Therefore, the design of Ti content in high strength steels should avoid this Ti content range. When Ti content is higher than 0.03%, the yield strength increases stably. In this experiment, when added Ti content was controlled in the range of 0.03%–0.05%, the contribution to the yield strength of Ti micro alloyed steel can reach about 92.44 MPa. 展开更多

Continuous precipitation was sampled at several stations in the southern Tibetan plateau to study the variation of stable isotope in precipitation. Our work shows that there is a strong signal of monsoon precipitation in the stable isotope of precipitation, which is quite different from that in other regions in the Tibetan plateau. The spatial variation, the seasonal variation of δ 18 O and the relationship between δ 18 O in precipitation and local meteorological parameters are all affected by monsoon precipitation in the south of Tibetan plateau.From the spatial variation, precipitation samples were collected from a dozen stations from south to north of the Tibetan plateau. A strong spatial variation of stable isotope in precipitation has been found. Extremely low value of δ 18 O in precipitation in the south of Tibetan plateau can be seen which can be contributed to the monsoon precipitation in the south of Tibetan plateau. The strong precipitation in the south slope of Himalayas Mts. depleted heavily the heavy stable isotope which resulting in very low δ 18 O in precipitation in the south of Tibetan plateau. This work also shows that the monsoon precipitation can affect effectively as far as to the Tanggula Mts. in the middle of the Tibetan plateau. 展开更多

Based on global monthly average data set of sea surface temperature (SST) during 1950 - 1992 and global monthly average 500 hPa height during 1930- 1997 offered by NCARINCEP, the feature of SST anomaly in the Atlantic and its relation with summer precipitation over the Northeast China are analyzed. The results show that, the second eigenvector of the SST’s empirical orthogonal expanssion in winter season over the North Atlantic suggests that dist-ibution of SST anomaly has unusual meridional difference; The location of its center is basically identical to center of significant correlation region be- tween summer precipitation over the Northeast China and winter SST in the Atlantic. When winter SST in the North Atlantic is hot in south and cold in north, the blocking situation is stronger in the middle- high latitude. Correspondingly, the blocking high pressure in the northern North Pacific is also getting stronger, the westerlies circulation index in East Asia in next summer would be lower,as a result,more precipitation in the summer would be experienced over Northeast China and vice versa. 展开更多

The precipitation performance and kinetics of gibbsite from sodium aluminate solution with different sodium oxalate concentrations as well as the corresponding influence mechanism of oxalate during the seed precipitation process were systematically investigated by physicochemical properties test,using SEM and Raman spectra.As the concentration of sodium oxalate increases,both the precipitation rate and particle size of gibbsite decrease.The presence of sodium oxalate not only increases the viscosity of sodium aluminate solution,but also promotes the transformation of Al(OH)4^? to Al2O(OH)6^2?.The overall reaction rate constant decreases and the apparent activation energy of gibbsite increases with the increasing sodium oxalate concentration,the rate controlling step of which is chemical reaction.The needle-like sodium oxalate precipitates on the gibbsite crystals and covers the active Al(OH)3 seed sites,which leads to the lower precipitation rate and the finer particle size of gibbsite during the seed precipitation process. 展开更多

Wind erosion is a major cause of land desertification and sandstorm formation in arid and semi-arid areas.The objective of this study was to evaluate the potential of soybeans crude extract induced calcium carbonate precipitation(SICP)on reducing wind erosion risk of sandy soil.Field tests were carried out in Ulan Buh Desert,Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region,China.Results showed that the SICP method could significantly enhance the surface strength and wind erosion resistance of the topsoil.The optimal cementation solution(urea-CaCl2)concentration and spraying volume,according to experiments conducted on sandy land,were 0.2 mol/L and 4 L/m^2,respectively.Under this condition,the CaCO3 content was approximately 0.45%,the surface strength of sandy soil could reach 306.2 kPa,and the depth of wind erosion was approximately zero,after 30 d completion of SICP treatment.Soil surface strength declined with the increase of time,and long-term sand fixation effects of SICP treatment varied depending on topography.Whereas wind erosion in the top area of the windward slope was remarkable,sandy soils on the bottom area of the windward slope still maintained a relatively high level of surface strength and a low degree of wind erosion 12 month after SICP treatment.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)tests with energy dispersive X-ray(EDX)confirmed the precipitation of CaCO3 and its bridge effect.These findings suggested that the SICP method is a promising candidate to protect sandy soil from wind erosion in desert areas. 展开更多

In order to expand the application of the basic magnesium carbonate in the field of flame retardant,the plate-like basic magnesium carbonate(Mg5(CO3)4(OH)2.4H2O)was prepared successfully by template-mediated/homogeneous precipitation method,using magnesium chloride hexahydrate(MgCl2.6H2O)and urea(CO(NH2)2)as reaction materials.Phase and morphology of the product were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM)and atomic force microscope(AFM),respectively.The results showed that well-crystallized plate-like Mg5(CO3)4(OH)2.4H2O can be prepared at the water bath temperature of 100°C,water bath time of 24 h,the aging time of 5 h after adding organic template agent.The investigation on organic template mediated mechanism shows that the template affects the crystal morphology by changing surface energy of different crystal plane.Through a preliminary study on the growth mechanism of the product,it is found that the generation of the plate-like Mg5(CO3)4(OH)2.4H2O could be explained by two-dimensional nucleation/step growth mechanism. 展开更多

Aging precipitation and solid solution heat treatment were carried out on three steels which have chromium content of 18%, manganese content of 12%, 15%, 18%, and nitrogen content of 0.43%, 0.53%, 0.67%, respectively. The mechanisms of precipitation and solid solution of high nitrogen anstenitic stainless steel were studied using the scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, electron probe micro analysis and mechanical testing. The results show that, Cr2N is the primary precipitate in the tested stainless steels instead of Cr23C6. Cr2N nucleates at austenitic grain boundaries and grows towards inner grains with a lameUar morphology. By means of pre-precipitation of Cr2N at 800 ~C, the microstructure of the steels at solid solution state can be refined, thus improving the strength and plasticity. After the proposed treatment, the tensile strength, the proof strength and the elongation of the tested steel reach 881 MPa, 542 MPa and 54%, respectively. 展开更多

Effects of tetracarbon additives, 1-butanol, 1,4-dioxane and tetrahydrofurane on gibbsite precipitation from caustic seeded sodium aluminate liquor were investigated. The additive was charged into supersaturated seeded sodium aluminate liquor, then the precipitation ratio of aluminate liquor in 10 h was evaluated and compared, and the particle size distribution of product was measured. The Mulliken atomic charge of oxygen in the additive molecule was calculated with DMo13 program. The results show that 1-butanol has little effect on gibbsite crystallization, while the precipitation ratios under the effect of 1,4-dioxane and tetrahydrofurane are 1.7% and 3.6% higher than that of the blank, respectively. The agglomeration efficiency of the product is also enhanced obviously by the addition of 1,4-dioxane and tetrahydrofurane. The precipitation ratio is inversely proportional to Mulliken atomic charge of oxygen atom, which implies that functional group in the additive molecule is involved in the gibbsite precipitation process more fundamentally than carbon chain. 展开更多

Ultrasonic treatment and hydrothermal method were applied in the traditional homogeneous precipitation for nano-TiO_2 preparation, which was used as carrier material for the production of honeycomb selective catalytic reduction(SCR) catalyst. The influence rules of the two improved methods on characterization of TiO_2 samples, denitration activity and mechanical strength of honeycomb SCR catalyst samples were mainly focused on. The results indicate that the specific surface area, particle size and uniformity of TiO_2 samples are significantly improved by both of the ultrasonic and hydrothermal treatments compared with the traditional homogeneous precipitation. Also, the denitration activities of catalyst samples are enhanced by the two improved methods(the NO_x reduction ratio increases from 88.89% to 95.45% by ultrasonic homogeneous precipitation process, and to 94.12% by hydrothermal homogeneous precipitation process). On the other hand, because of good spherical shape and high particle distribution of TiO_2 sample from hydrothermal homogeneous precipitation process, the corresponding honeycomb catalyst samples get the best mechanical strength, which is even higher than that of the reference sample from commercial nano-TiO_2. So, it is concluded that the hydrothermal homogeneous precipitation can be a feasible and effective preparation method of TiO_2 carrier for the honeycomb SCR catalyst production. 展开更多

Tributyl phosphate(TBP) was employed for the Bi(Ⅲ) extraction from hydrochloric acid medium.The effects of extraction time and material concentration were examined.The replacement mechanism between the anion(Cl^-) and TBP was proposed for extraction.The results show the species extracted into the organic phase were found to be mainly BiCl_3·x TBP(x=2 or 3).Thermodynamic parameters of the extraction reaction were obtained from the thermodynamics analysis,which illustrates that higher temperatures show a negative effect on the extraction.Extraction isotherm was obtained with 2.16 mol/L TBP for a typical solution containing 0.1 mol/L of bismuth and 1.0 mol/L of hydrochloric acid.About 98.5 % of bismuth has been extracted from the leaching solution under the optimum condition.Moreover,oxalate was explored as a precipitation stripping agent for BiCl_3·x TBP(x=2 or 3) complexes,by which Bi(Ⅲ) was stripped in the form of Bi_2(C_2O_4)_3·7H_2O.A stripping efficiency of 99.3% was obtained in only one stage at the phase ratio of 1 and TBP also could be recycled.Therefore,the method is an efficient,effective and highly selective approach to extract Bi(Ⅲ) and to recover metal bismuth. 展开更多

Spatiotemporal interpolation of precipitation across Xinjiang, China using space-time CoKriging 被引量:1

In various environmental studies, geoscience variables not only have the characteristics of time and space, but also are influenced by other variables. Multivariate spatiotemporal variables can improve the accuracy of spatiotemporal estimation. Taking the monthly mean ground observation data of the period 1960–2013 precipitation in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China, the spatiotemporal distribution from January to December in 2013 was respectively estimated by space-time Kriging and space-time CoKriging. Modeling spatiotemporal direct variograms and a cross variogram was a key step in space-time CoKriging. Taking the monthly mean air relative humidity of the same site at the same time as the covariates, the spatiotemporal direct variograms and the spatiotemporal cross variogram of the monthly mean precipitation for the period 1960–2013 were modeled. The experimental results show that the space-time CoKriging reduces the mean square error by 31.46% compared with the space-time ordinary Kriging. The correlation coefficient between the estimated values and the observed values of the space-time CoKriging is 5.07% higher than the one of the space-time ordinary Kriging. Therefore, a space-time CoKriging interpolation with air humidity as a covariate improves the interpolation accuracy. 展开更多

Based on the population balance equation in a batch crystallizer characteristic of seeded precipitation, a model to calculate the rate of apparent crystal growth of aluminum hydroxide from the size distribution was deve- loped. The simulation results indicate that the rate of apparent crystal growth during seeded precipitation exhibits a manifest dependence on the crystal size. In general, there is an obvious increase in the apparent crystal growth rate with the augment in crystal size. The apparent activation energy increases with the increase of characteristic crystal size, which indicates that the growth of small crystals is controlled by surface chemical reaction; it is gradually controlled by both the surface reaction and diffusion with the augment in crystal size. 展开更多

The mineral assemblage zoning is consistent for both horizontal and vertical zoning, from the base(center) of the ore body to the top(outermost), the mineral zones are as follows. I-1: coarse-grained pyrite and a little puce sphalerite;I-2: brown sphalerite, galena, and ferro-dolomite;I-3: galena, sandy beige and pale yellow sphalerite, and calcite;and I-4: fine-grained pyrite, dolomite, and calcite. Among them, sphalerite is the landmark mineral of different zoning. From I-1 to I-3, the color of sphalerite changes from dark to light, its crystalline size changes from coarse to fine, and its structure changes from disseminated to veinlet. This mineral zoning is seen not only on a microscopic scale, but is also clear on a mesoscopic and macroscopic scale. It is caused by the order of the sphalerite and galena precipitation. We studied the metallic minerals and fluid inclusions using a thermodynamic phase diagram method, such as lgfO2–lgfS2, pH–lgfO2, pH–lg[Pb^2+] and pH–lg[HS^-], discussed the constraints on the order of the sphalerite and galena precipitation in the migration and precipitation process of lead and zinc under different pH values, oxygen fugacity, sulfur fugacity, and ionic activity. We also explain the formation mechanism and propose that the main controlling factor of the order of the sphalerite and galena precipitation is sulfur fugacity. 展开更多

The precipitation behaviors of an A1-Cu-Li-Mn-Zr alloy at different ageing temperatures (120, 160 and 200 ~C) were investigated using Vickers hardness measurements and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) characterization. Age hardening curves show an increase in precipitation kinetics with increasing ageing temperature. The results of TEM show that for the samples peak aged at 120 ~C, the amount of g' (A13Li), GP zones/0' (A12Cu) and Z (A15Cu6Li2) phases is obviously higher than that of T1 (A12CuLi) precipitates; while the samples peak aged at 160 and 200 ~C are usually dominated by T1 phase with a minor fraction of GP zones/0' and g', and the Z phase almost does not form. In addition, quantitative analysis on the T1 platelets demonstrates that the samples peak aged at 200 ~C have larger plate diameter and smaller area fraction of T1, as compared to the samples peak aged at 160 ~C. In order to overcome the defects of air-agitated seed precipitation, such as scaring, liquid short-(circuiting,) the three-dimension flow fields with different structure are numerically simulated by computational fluid dynamics software. Euler/Euler approach was used to study the effects of structure on the flow field in the tank. Multi-fluid model, body-fitted coordinates and multi-block gird were adopted in the simulation. The simulating results are well consonant with the practical situations. The flow field is improved obviously when the flow velocity increases from (0.089m/s) to 0.1920.300m/s at the bottom of the optimized tank and therefore the scaring is reduced greatly in the industrial production. With a gathering sill, the problem of short-circuiting, which always appeares in the upper of the tank, can be solved very well. 展开更多

The precursors with NiCO3·2Ni(OH)2·2H2O, Fe2O3·nH2O coated alumina microspheres were prepared by the aqueous heterogeneous precipitation using metal salts, ammonium bicarbonate and α-Al2O3 micropowders as the starting materials. Magnetic metal Ni, α-Fe coated alumina, core-shell structural microspheres were successfully obtained by thermal reduction of the precursors at 700℃ for 2h, respectively. Powders of the precursors and the resultant metal (Ni, α-Fe) coated alumina micropowders were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The results show that optimized precipitation parameters are concentration of alumina micropowders of 15g/L, rate of adding reactants of 5mL/min and pH value of 7.5. And under the optimized conditions, the spherical precursors without aggregations or agglomerations are obtained, then transferred into Ni, α-Fe coated alumina microspheres by thermal reduction. It is possible to adjust metal coating thicknesses and fabricate a multilayer structured metal/ceramics, core-shell microspherical powder materials. 展开更多

The influence of chemical composition and cold deformation on aging precipitation behavior of 18Cr-16Mn-2Mo-I.IN (HNS-A), 18Cr-16Mn-I.3N (HNS-B), 18Cr-18Mn-2Mo-0.96N (HNS-C) and 18Cr-18Mn-2Mo-0.77N (I-INS-D) high nitrogen austenitic stainless steels was investigated. The results show that the "nose" temperatures and incubation periods of the initial time-temperature-precipitation (TTP) curves of aged HNSs are found to be 850 ℃, 60 s; 850 ℃, 45 s; 850 ℃, 60 s and 900 ℃, 90 s, respectively. Based on the analysis of SAD patterns, the coarse cellular Cr2N precipitate which presents a lamellar structure has a hexagonal structure of a=0.478 nm and c=0.444 nm. The Z phase corresponding to a composition of Fe36Cr^2Mo10, is determined to be a body-centered cubic structure ofa=0.892 nm. The precipitating sensitivity presents no more difference with the nitrogen content increasing from 0.77% to 0.96%, but exhibits so obviously that the cellular precipitates nearly overspread the whole field. The addition of Mo element can restrain the TTP curves moving left and down, which means decreasing the sensitivity of aging precipitation. With increasing the cold deformation, the sensitivity of precipitation increases obviously. 展开更多
