Preparation of reduced sensitivity co-crystals of cyclic nitramines using spray flash evaporation 被引量:10

The present day weapon technology demands novel energetic materials that exhibit simultaneous high explosive yield and reduced sensitivity.This article demonstrates application of spray evaporation to prepare reduced sensitive co-crystals of high performance nitramine explosives like HMX and CL-20 with a relatively less insensitive explosive 1,1-diamino-2,2-dinitroethylene or FOX-7.Stronger intermolecurar hydrogen bonding in FOX-7 is responsible for limited solubility in nost of o rganic solvents.Large solubility differences of FOX-7 with HMX and CL-20 restricts ifs co-crystallization through classical methods that yields thermodynamically favorable product.Spray flash evaporation,a kinetic crystallization method,has been therefore adopted and could successfully produce CL-20/FOX-7(2:1) and HMX/FQX-7(4:1) co-crystals.The fine powdered materials obtained were characterized by SEM,powder XRD,Raman spectro scopy,DSC-TGA etc.Multipoint Raman spectra showed consistent occurrence of spectral features indicating stoichiometric co-existence of ingredients in the crystal lattices.DSC analysis showed absence of all thermally assisted solidsolid phase transformation in the co-crystals as they were observed in pristine materials.The thermal stability calculated in terms of activation barrier fordecomposition,revealed the CL-20/FOX-7 co-crystal to be interlediately stable on comparison to their constituents while,the HMX/FOX-7 co-crystal is more stable.Compared to pure HMX and CL-20,both the co-crystals have shown higher insensitivity to impact force,suggesting them to be suitable for future generation insensitive munitions. 展开更多

Organic Rankine cycle(ORC)is widely used for the low grade geothermal power generation.However,a large amount of irreversible loss results in poor technical and economic performance due to its poor matching between the heat source/sink and the working medium in the condenser and the evaporator.The condensing temperature,cooling water temperature difference and pinch point temperature difference are often fixed according to engineering experience.In order to optimize the ORC system comprehensively,the coupling effect of evaporation and condensation process was proposed in this paper.Based on the laws of thermodynamics,the energy analysis,exergy analysis and entropy analysis were adopted to investigate the ORC performance including net output power,thermal efficiency,exergy efficiency,thermal conductivity,irreversible loss,etc.,using geothermal water at a temperature of 120℃as the heat source and isobutane as the working fluid.The results show that there exists a pair of optimal evaporating temperature and condensing temperatures to maximize the system performance.The net power output and the system comprehensive performance achieve their highest values at the same evaporating temperature,but the system comprehensive performance corresponds to a lower condensing temperature than the net power output. 展开更多

The mesoporous Ti O2 has been synthesized by evaporation induced self assembly(EISA) method. The thermogravimetric/differential scanning calorimetric(TG/DSC), X-ray diffraction(XRD), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HR-TEM) and N2 adsorption desorption and adsorption are used to study the effects of the synthesized process condition on the microstructure of the as-synthesized mesoporous Ti O2. The photocatalytic performances of as-synthesized samples are evaluated by the degradation of the formaldehyde under ultraviolet light irradiations. The results demonstrate that the as-synthesized mesoporous Ti O2 are anatase with the uniform size about 20-40 nm. The sample is prepared using cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB) as the template with average pore size distribution of 8.12 nm, specific surface area of 68.47 m2/g and pore volume of 0.213 m L/g. The samples show decomposition of formaldehyde 95.8% under ultraviolet light irradiations for 90 min. These results provide a basic experimental process for preparation mesoporous Ti O2, which will posses a broad prospect in terms of the applications in improving indoor air quality. 展开更多

Polyfunctional aziridine/polyester microcapsules as control-release waterborne cross-linker were synthesized by multiple emulsion-solvent evaporation method. The results show that,a lower surface free energy with shell polyester is more favourable for the formation of microcapsules. Full encapsulating microcapsules are synthesized with the polyester with a surface free energy of 34.5 mJ/m2. Shell-to-core feeding mass ratio has a significant influence on the morphology and core content of the resulting microcapsules. Well defined spherical microcapsules with uniform shell thickness and core content at around 22% are produced at a shell-to-core mass ratio of 1:1. When 2.5% of colloid stabilizer is used,hollow spherical microcapsules are obtained. A high solvent evaporation rate results in wrinkling and porosity of the microcapsules,and an evaporation rate equivalent to solvent elimination in about 2 h provides a uniform rate of surface hardening. The characterization of the microcapsules by SEM and FTIR demonstrates that polyfunctional aziridine is encapsulated at the centre of the microcapsule. The microcapsules synthesized can be broken at a high shear rate. 展开更多

The samples were prepared by the ultra-high vacuum electron beam evaporation. The clear band gaps were observed. Satisfactory agreement between experimental and calculated results was obtained without fitting. The thickness of SiO_(2 )film has influence on the photonic band gap, as well as it awfully affects the transmittance of Ag. More layers can get clearer PBG. 展开更多

Studies on Fast Remediation of Soda Meadow Alkaline Soil

Researches on models of remediation quickly in soda meadow alkaline soil, and dynamic variation of water-salt in saline soil of Zhaozhou County were studied systematically from 2001 to 2006. Realize the vegetation cover of those years through the artificial planting, mixed seeding lyme grass (Elymus dahuricus Turcz) and melilot in the mode of rotary tillage and deep loosening in lower and medium saline soils. The results showed that there was remarkable relationship between net evaporation (difference of precipitation and evaporation) and total salt content in the soil. The net evaporation could be used as a new method to forecast the dynamics variation of salt to ensure the pasture optimum sowing time. Realize the autumnal vegetation cover of those years through direct planting on the bourgeon layer of soda meadow alkaline soil, on the other hand, the covered pasture made the function of restraining salt and alkaline content to realize the biology reverse succession quickly. Forage seeds were seeded directly on the seeding bed of soda alkaline meadow at the end of July. In fall of the same year, a certain amount of biomass was obtained. The model, which has remarkable economical efficiency and use widely, represented the innovative model for the fast vegetation restoration on the soda alkaline meadow soil. 展开更多

Heat strain experienced by individuals wearing chemical protective clothing(CPC)is severe and dangerous especially in hot-humid environment.The development of material science and interdisciplinary studies including ergonomics,physiology and heat transfer is urgently required for the reduction of heat strain.The aim of this paper was to study the relationship among clothing thermal properties,physiological responses and environmental conditions.Three kinds of CPC were selected.Eight participants wore CPC and walked(4 km/h,two slopes with 5%and 10%)on a treadmill in an environment with(35±0.5)℃ and RH of(60±5)%.Core temperature,mean skin temperature,heart rate,heat storage and tolerance time were recorded and analyzed.Physiological responses were significantly affected by the clothing thermal properties and activity intensity in hot-humid environment.The obtained results can help further development of heat strain model.New materials with lower evaporative resistance and less weight are necessary to release the heat strain in hot-humid environments. 展开更多

In this work, eleven pure working fluids(as categ... Organic Rankine cycle(ORC) is applicable for the heat-work conversion. Whereas, there also exist a lot issues that influence the efficiency and the cost of the system. In this work, eleven pure working fluids(as categorized into alkanes, and fluorinated alkanes) are investigated based on the first and second law of thermodynamics. The major objective is to obtain the most suitable working fluid for the latent heat source. The results show that the working fluid is an important factor of the system performance. The heat absorption of the working fluid in the evaporator is inversely proportional to the evaporating temperature, but the thermal and exergetic efficiencies are just the opposite. RC318 has the highest net power output and the lowest outlet temperature of the heat source, but its global warming potential(GWP) value is too high. The cyclohexane shows the highest thermal efficiency among the fluids investigated. Moreover, the figure of merit(FOM) of the isobutane is higher than that of other working fluids. Overall, the cyclohexane shows that the optimal comprehensive performance is more feasible for medium grade heat source in engineering applications. 展开更多

The evaporative cooling,which assists the refrigeration machinery air-conditioning systems test-rig,has been designed.Its structure and working principle were described,and the performance test was conducted and analyzed.The test shows that making full use of the evaporative cooling "free cooling" in Spring and Autumn seasons can fully meet the requirements of air-conditioned comfort through the switch of the function in different seasons.Taking into account the evaporative cooling fan and pump energy consumption,compared with the traditional mechanical refrigeration system,more than 80 percent of energy can be saved,and the energy efficiency ratio of the Unit(EER)is as high as 7.63.Using the two stages of indirect evaporative cooling to pre-cool the new wind in summer,under the conditions of the same air supply temperature requirements,0.83 kg/s chilled water saved can be equivalent to the traditional mechanical refrigeration system,and when the new wind ratio up to 50 percent,more than 10 percent load was reduced in mechanical refrigeration system.The overall EER increased about 35 percent. 展开更多

The standard k-ε turbulence model and discrete phase model (DPM) were used to simulate the heat and mass transfer in a liquid-desiccant evaporator driven by a heat pump using FLUENT software, and the temperature field and velocity field in the device were obtained. The performance of the liquid-desiccant evaporator was studied as the concentration of the inlet solution varied between 21% and 30% and the pipe wall temperature between 30 and 50 ℃. Results show that the humidification rate and the humidification efficiency increased with the inlet air temperature, the solution flow rate, the solution temperature, and the pipe wall temperature. The humidification rate and humidification efficiency decreased with increasing moisture content in inlet air and the concentration of inlet solution. The humidification rate increased substantially but the humidification efficiency decreased as the inlet air flow rate increased. A two-dimensional steady state model was developed and solved numerically to predict the performance of evaporative condensing regenerator.Two-dimensional parameter distributions of air,solution and refrigerant were calculated by the mathematical model.The solution content first increases and then decreases along the solution flow direction.At y/Hr=0.98(where Hr is the height of regenerator),air humidity increases from 1.99% to 2.348% firstly and then decreases.The experimental results were used to validate mathematical model.It is indicated that the simulation results agree with experimental data well.The results not only show that the mathematical model can be used to predict the performance of regenerator,but also has great value in the design and improvement of evaporative condensing regenerator. 展开更多
