The dynamical equations of a rod with arbitrary initial shape are established in general form. The dynamics of a straight rod under axial tension and torsion is discussed as an example. In discussion of static stability in the space domain the Greenhill criteria of stability and the Euler load are corrected by the influence of tension and shear strain. In analysis of dynamical stability in the time domain it is shown that the Lyapunov and Euler stability conditions of the rod in space domain are the necessary conditions of Lyapunov's stability in the time domain. The longitudinal, torsional and lateral vibrations of a straight rod based on exact model are discussed, and an exact formula of free frequency of lateral vibration is obtained. The free frequency formulas of various simplified models, such as the Rayleigh beam, the Kirchhoff rod, and the Timoshenko beam, can be seen as special cases of the exact formula under different conditions of simplification.展开更多

The established Monte Carlo model mainly concerns the variations of optical electric field and speckle. The two- dimensional intensity distribution and the time evolution of speckles in different probe locations are obtained. The fluctuation of speckle intensity tracks the acoustic-radiation-force shear wave propagation, and especially the reduction of speckle intensity implies attenuation of shear wave. Then, the shear wave velocity is estimated quantitatively on the basis of the time-to-peak algorithm and linear regression processing. The results reveal that a smaller sampling interval yields higher estimation precision and the shear wave velocity is estimated more efficiently by using speckle intensity difference than by using speckle contrast difference according to the estimation error. Hence, the shear wave velocity is estimated to be 2.25 m/s with relatively high accuracy for the estimation error reaches the minimum (0.071).展开更多

In the present work, the tensile mechanical property test and visco-plastic self-consistent (VPSC) model are used to investigate the activities of deformation modes of VW84M and VW94M magnesium alloys during the tensile deformation. The results show that the mechanical properties of the above extruded alloys are similar but VW94M has higher strength than VW84M after the same aging process. Compared with the extruded alloys, the as-aged alloys have significantly higher activation of pyramidal slip at the later stage of plastic deformation. In addition, the as-aged VW94M alloy with higher strength has the largest activity of pyramidal slip. In summary, the addition of Gd increases the critical resolved shear stress (CRSS)in each slip system of VW94M,while the increase in the strength and the decrease in the elongation of as-aged alloys are associated with the significant activation of pyramidal slip.展开更多

Here we investigate the linear elasticity response in the modified phase-field-crystal(MPFC) model. The results show that two different propagation modes control the elastic interaction length and time, which determine whether the density waves can propagate or not. By quantitatively calculating the strain field, we find that the strain distribution is indeed extremely uniform in case of elasticity. Further, we present a detailed theoretical analysis for the orientation dependence and temperature dependence of shear modulus. The simulation results show that the shear modulus reveals strong anisotropy and the one-mode analysis provides a good guideline for determining elastic shear constants until the system temperature falls below a certain value.展开更多

The thermal electronic contribution to Helmholtz free energy is estimated from the integration over the electronic DOS. By comparing the experimental results with the calculation results from the first-principles and the Debye model, it is found that the thermodynamic properties of Ta are depicted well by the first-principles. The generalized gradient approximation (GGA) with the Perdew-Burke Ernzerhof (PBE) method is used to describe the exchange-correlation energy in the present work. The calculated equilibrium lattice constant a0, bulk modulus B0, and the pressure derivative of bulk modulus B~ of NbN with rocksalt structure are in good agreement with numerous experimental and theoretical data. The elastic properties over a range of pressures from 0 to 80.4 GPa are obtained. Isotropic wave velocities and anisotropic elasticity of NbN are studied in detail. It is indicated that NbN is highly anisotropic in both longitudinal and shear-wave velocities. According to the quasi-harmonic Debye model, in which the phononic effect is considered, the relations of (V - Vo)/Vo to the temperature and the pressure, and the relations of the heat capacity Cv and the thermal expansion coefficient α to temperature are discussed in a pressure range from 0 to 80.4 GPa and a temperature range from 0 to 2500 K. At low temperature, Cv is proportional to T3 and tends to the Dulong Petit limit at higher temperature. We predict that the thermal expansion coefficient α of NbN is about 4.20 × 10-6/K at 300 K and 0 GPa.展开更多

The thermal electronic contribution to Helmholtz free energy is estimated from the integration over the electronic DOS. By comparing the experimental results with the calculation results from the first-principles and the Debye model, it is found that the thermodynamic properties of Ta are depicted well by the first-principles. The elastic properties of Ta from the first-principles are consistent with the available experimental data.

文摘The elastic and thermodynamic properties of NbN at high pressures and high temperatures are investigated by the plane-wave pseudopotential density functional theory (DFT). We predict that the thermal expansion coefficient α of NbN is about 4.20 × 10-6/K at 300 K and 0 GPa.

文摘In this paper,a new M3Y-type effective nucleon–nucleon interaction, derived based on the lowest order constrained variational approach(LOCV)and termed B3Y-Fetal,has been used in DDM3Y1,BDM3Y1,BDM3Y2,and BDM3Y3 density-dependent versions in a heavy ion(HI)optical potential based on four types of a real folded potential and a phenomenological Woods–Saxon imaginary potential to study the elastic scattering of the^(16)O+^(16)O nuclear system within the framework of the optical model(OM)by computing the associated differential cross sections at various incident energies. The results of the folding analyses have shown the DDB3Y1-Fetal and BDB3Y1-Fetal,out of the four folded potentials, give a reasonably better description of the elastic data of the nuclear system. These best-fit folded potentials are followed,in performance,by the BDB3Y2-Fetal,with the BDB3Y3-Fetal potential coming last. This performance trend was also demonstrated by the optical potentials based on the M3Y-Reid interaction.Furthermore, the best-fit folded potentials, renormalized by a factor NRof approximately 0.9,have been shown to reproduce the energy dependence of the real optical potential for^(16)O scattering found in previous optical model analyses creditably well.In excellent agreement with previous works, they have also been identified in this work to belong to the family of deep refractive potentials because they have been able to reproduce and consistently describe the evolution of Airylike structures,at large scattering angles, observed in the^(16)O scattering data at different energies. Finally,a comparison of the performances of B3Y-Fetal and M3Y-Reid effective interactions undertaken in this work has shown impressive agreement between them.
