Methods: A collection of 34 patients with astrocytomas proved by surgery and pathology were examined by magnetic resonance imaging(MRI), with 26 cases of gradeⅠ-Ⅱ(low-grade) and 8 cases of grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ(high-grade). MR perfusion images were obtained with spin-echo echo planar imaging (SE-EPI) techniques. Expression of VEGF was examined by immunohistochemical method of streptavidin-biotin-peroxidase(SP). The vascular development was measured by micro-vascular density (MVD) which was immunostained with anti-factor Ⅷ-related antigen monoclonal antibody. Results: Both of the expression of VEGF and the angiogenesis in 34 cases of astrocytomas were significantly correlated to the maximum relative cerebral blood volume (Max rCBV) (r=0.604, P<0.001;r=0.625, P<0.001, respectively). The Max rCBV and the expression of VEGF, MVD in high-grade astrocytomas were significantly higher than that of in low-grade astrocytomas (t= 3.0, P=0.017; t=7.08, P=0.01;t=3.37,P=(0.011,) respectively). Conclusion: MR perfusion weighted imaging might be a valuable method in in vivo study of the angiogenesis of astrocytomas and evaluating their malignant degree and prognosis.展开更多

Methods With a 4F catheter, 1% diluted carbon tetrachloride ( 1 ml/kg) was selectively injected into fight or left hepatic artery of 12 dogs fortnightly. The half fiver into which carbon tetrachloride was injected was called as study side (SS), while the other half fiver without carbon tetrachloride injection was called as study control side (SCS). Conventional and peffusion-weighted MRI were performed in every 4 weeks. Via a 4F catheter, 5ml gadolinium diethylentriamine pentaaceti acid (Gd-DTPA) dilution was injected into superior mesenteric artery at the 5th scan. The signal intensity-thne curves of SS, SCS, and portal vein were completed in MR workstation. The maximal relative signal increase ( MRSI), peak time ( tp), and slope of the curves were measured. Results On conventional MR images, no abnormalities of externality and signal intensity were observed in both SS and SCS of fiver at each stage. The mean tp, MP, SI, and slope of intensity-time curves in normal fiver were 10. 56 seconds, 1.01, and 10. 23 arbitrary unit (au)/s, respectively. Three parameters of curves didn't show obvious change in SCS of fiver at every stage. Abnormal perfusion curves occurred in SS of fiver at the 12th week after the 1st injection. The abnormality of perfusion curve in SS was more and more serious as the times of injection increased. The mean tp, IVlRSI, and slope intensity-time curves in SS of fiver were 19.45 seconds, 0. 43, and 3. 60 au/s respectively at the 24th week. Conclusion Perfusion-weighted imaging can potentially provide information about portal peffusion of hepatic parenchyma, and to some degree, reflect the severity of cirrhosis.展开更多

Microvessel density(MVD) was counted and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) expression was assessed with immunohistochemical method. Dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI-derived parameters, such as peak height(PH), steepest slope(SS), maximum enhancement rate(E max),enhancement rate at 1-6 minutes(E 1-6), were calculated and compared with MVD in pulmonary adenocarcinoma. And the parameters were also compared between VEGF-positive and VEGF-negative pulmonary adenocarcinoma. Results:The microvessel density was 68.31±19.84 in 37 pulmonary adenocarcinoma. The PH, SS, E max, E 1-6 correlated positively with MVD respectively(P<0.001). The strongest relationship was found between SS and MVD(r=0.827,P<0.001). There was a significant difference between MVD of VEGF-positive pulmonary adenocarcinoma (79.47±21.35) and MVD of VEGF-negative pulmonary adenocarcinoma (43.16±17.85)(P<0.001). All the parameters in VEGF-positive pulmonary adenocarcinoma were higher than those in VEGF-negative pulmonary adenocarcinao(P<0.001). Conclusion: Dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI-derived parameters of pulmonary adenocarcinoma correlated positively with MVD. The parameters in VEGF-positive pulmonary adenocarcinoma were higher than those in VEGF-negative pulmonary adenocarcinoma(P<0.001).展开更多

Methods: TRICKS is a high temporal resolution (2-6 s) MR angiographic technique using a short TR(4 ms) and TE(1.5 ms), partial echo sampling, in which central part of k-space is updated more frequently than the peripheral part. TRICKS pre-contrast mask 3D images are firstly scanned, and then the bolus injecting of Gd-DTPA, 15-20 sequential 3D images are acquired. The reconstructed 3D images, subtraction of contrast 3D images with mask images, are conceptually similar to a catheter-based intra-arterial digital subtraction angiographic series (DSA). Thirty patients underwent contrast-enhanced MR angiography using 3D-TRICKS. Results: Totally 12 vertebral arteries were well displayed on TRICKS, in which 7 were normal, 1 demonstrated bilateral vertebral artery stenosis, 4 had unilateral vertebral artery stenosis and 1 was accompanied with the same lateral carotid artery bifurcation stenosis. Four cases of bilateral renal arteries were normal, 1 transplanted kidney artery showed as normal and 1 transplanted kidney artery showed stenosis. 2 cerebral arteries were normal, 1 had sagittal sinus thrombosis and 1 displayed intracranial arteriovenous malformation. 3 pulmonary arteries were normal, 1 showed pulmonary artery thrombosis and 1 revealed pulmonary sequestration's abnormal feeding artery and draining vein. One left lower limb fibrolipoma showed feeding artery. One displayed radial-ulnar artery artificial fistula stenosis. One revealed left antebrachium hemangioma. Conclusion: TRICKS can clearly delineate most body vascular system and reveal most vascular abnormality. It possesses convenience and high successful rate, which make it the first choice of displaying most vascular abnormality.展开更多

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) are used to obtain morphological imaging data. Functional imaging data, such as the spectrum and blood flow changes are obtained by proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-MRS) and CT perfusion (CTP). Results show that PD rat models have no characteristic morphological imaging abnormalities, but exist regional cerebral blood flow (CBF) reductions and spectral changes in the striatum.展开更多
