However, the influences of splitter plates on the VIV and aerostatic performances are more complicated due to aerodynamic interference between highway and railway decks. To study the effects of splitter plates, wind tunnel experiments for measuring VIV and aerostatic forces of twin decks under two opposite flow directions were conducted, while the surrounding flow and wind pressure of static twin decks with and without splitter plates are numerically simulated. The results showed that the incoming flow direction affects the VIV response and aerostatic coefficients. The highway deck has poor vertical and torsional VIV, and the VIV region and amplitude are different under different directions. While the railway deck only has vertical VIV when located upstream. The splitter plates can impede the process of vortex generation, shedding and impinging at the gap between twin deck, and significantly reducing the surface fluctuating pressure coefficient, thus effectively suppressing the VIV of twin decks. While, the splitter plates hurt the upstream deck regarding static wind stability and have little effect on the downstream deck. The splitter plates of appropriate width are recommended to improve VIV performances in twin parallel bridges.展开更多

This is strongly linked to the dynamic characteristics of silt in this region. To analyze these couple effects on the dynamic characteristics of silt, a series of tests(i.e., freeze-thaw cycling tests, vibration triaxial tests and ultrasonic wave velocity tests) were conducted and two kinds of silt(i.e., salt-free and 3%-salt silt) were designed. The results indicate that the dynamic shear strength and dynamic modulus decrease with increasing freeze-thaw cycles, while the damping ratio simultaneously increases. Furthermore, compared to salt-free silt, the decrement of dynamic shear strength and dynamic modulus of silt with 3% salt is more significant, but the damping ratio of 3%-salt silt is larger. In ultrasonic wave velocity tests, ultrasonic wave velocity of frozen soil specimens decreases as the number of freeze-thaw cycles increases. Based on the results of ultrasonic wave velocity tests, a preliminary model is proposed to evaluate damage of silt through field measurement ultrasonic data. The study could provide a theoretical basis for the treatment of silty soil highway.展开更多

The influence of the central buckle on natural vibration characteristics and bridge-deck driving comfort of a long-span suspension bridge is studied by using a case study of Siduhe Suspension Bridge in China. Based on the finite element software ANSYS and independently complied program, the influence of the central buckle on the structure force-applied characteristics of a long-span suspension bridge has been explored. The results show that the huge increases of natural frequencies can result in the presence of central buckles because of the increases of bending and torsional rigidities. The central buckle basically makes the stiffening girders and cables within the triangular area covered as a relatively approximate rigid area. Hence, the central buckle can reduce the torsional displacement of the main girder. However, the increases of bending and torsional rigidities have little influence on the impact factor, which is obtained by using vehicle-bridge coupled vibration analysis. This means that the central buckle has little effect on the comfort indices. In addition, it is found that the central buckle can enhance the bridge deck's driving stability due to the decrease of the torsional displacements of the main girder.展开更多

The stru...When the tunneling boring machine(TBM) cutterhead tunnels, the excessive vibration and damage are a severe engineering problem, thereby the anti-vibration design is a key technology in the disc cutter system. The structure of disc cutter contains many joint interfaces among cutter ring, cutter body, bearings and cutter shaft. On account of the coupling for dynamic contact and the transfer path among joint interface, mechanical behavior of disc cutter becomes extremely complex under the impact of heavy-duty, which puts forward higher requirements for disc cutter design. A multi-degree-of-freedom coupling dynamic model, which contains a cutter ring, a cutter body, two bearings and cutter shaft, is established, considering the external stochastic excitations, bearing nonlinear contact force, multidirectional mutual coupling vibration, etc. Based on the parameters of an actual project and the strong impact external excitations, the modal properties and dynamic responses are analyzed, as well as the cutter shaft and bearings' loads and load transmission law are obtained. Numerical results indicate the maximum radial and axial cutter ring amplitudes of dynamic responses are 0.568 mm and 0.112 mm; the maximum radial and axial vibration velocities are 41.1 mm/s and 38.9 mm/s; the maximum radial and axial vibration accelerations are 94.7 m/s2 and 58.6 m/s2; the maximum swing angle and angular velocity of cutter ring are 0.007° and 0.0074 rad/s, respectively. Finally, the maximum load of bearing roller is 40.3 k N. The proposed research lays a foundation for structure optimization design of disc cutter and cutter base, as well as model selection, modification and fatigue life of the cutter bearing.展开更多

The total number of degree of freedom of the structure is condensed through a selection of interface degrees of freedom and significant global mode shapes, for an approximated description of vehicle dynamic behaviour. The methodology is implemented in a customised open-source software to reduce the computational efforts. The modelled tracked vehicle includes the sprung mass, the unsprung masses, connected by means of torsional bars, and all the track assemblies, composing the track chain. The proposed research activity presents a comprehensive investigation of the influence of the track chain, combined with longitudinal vehicle speed, on statics and vehicle dynamics, focusing on vertical dynamics. The vehicle response has been investigated both in frequency and time domain. In this last case road-wheel displacements are assumed as inputs for the model, under different working conditions, hence considering several road profiles with different amplitudes and characteristic excitation frequencies. Simulation results have proven a high fidelity in model order reduction approach and a significant contribution of the track chain in the global dynamic behaviour of the tracked vehicle.展开更多

The proposed method was verified experimentally and numerically by implementing the scheme on engine block. In the implementation process, the following steps were identified to be important: 1) EMD technique in order to solve the feature extraction of vibration signals; 2) Vibration measurement for the purpose of confirming the structural weak regions of engine block in experiment; 3) Finite element modeling for the purpose of determining dynamic characteristic in time region and frequency region to affirm the comparability of response character corresponding to improvement schemes; 4) Adopting a feature index oflMF for structural improvement based on EMD and wavelet analysis. The obtained results show that IMF of signal is more sensitive to response character corresponding to improvement schemes. Finally, examination of the results confirms that the proposed vibration-based feature extraction method is very robust, and focuses on the relative merits of modification and full-scale structural optimization of engine, together with the creation of new low-vibration designs.展开更多

The dynamic governing equation is expressed as finite difference format and programmed by using MATLAB language. Compared with theoretical method, the finite difference method has been verified to be feasible by a case study. It is found that under seismic loading, the dynamic response of anchorage system is synchronously fluctuated with the seismic vibration. The change of displacement amplitude of material points is slight, and comparatively speaking, the displacement amplitude of the outside point is a little larger than that of the inside point, which shows amplification effect of surface. While the axial force amplitude transforms considerably from the inside to the outside. It increases first and reaches the peak value in the intersection between the anchoring section and free section, then decreases slowly in the free section. When considering damping effect of anchorage system, the finite difference method can reflect the time attenuation characteristic better, and the calculating result would be safer and more reasonable than the dynamic steady-state theoretical method. What is more, the finite difference method can be applied to the dynamic response analysis of harmonic and seismic random vibration for all kinds of anchor, and hence has a broad application prospect.展开更多

文摘In this paper,subnanosecond-pulse and one-nanosecond-pulse generators are used to study the breakdowns in highly overvolted gaps in atmospheric pressure air. With different cathodes,we measured the applied voltage and discharge current to investigate the dynamic characteristics in the subnanosecond breakdown during the generation of a supershort avalanche electron beam.Especially, characteristics of dynamic displacement current are presented in the current paper, which is detected between the ionization wave front and a plane anode. It is shown that during a subnanosecond voltage rise time, the amplitude of the dynamic displacement current can be higher than 4 kA.It is demonstrated that the breakdown in the air gap is assisted by ionization processes between the ionization wave front and a plane anode.

文摘When the tunneling boring machine(TBM) cutterhead tunnels, the excessive vibration and damage are a severe engineering problem, thereby the anti-vibration design is a key technology in the disc cutter system. The proposed research lays a foundation for structure optimization design of disc cutter and cutter base, as well as model selection, modification and fatigue life of the cutter bearing.
文摘In this paper, a model order reduction strategy is adopted for the static and dynamic behaviour simulation of a high-speed tracked vehicle. Simulation results have proven a high fidelity in model order reduction approach and a significant contribution of the track chain in the global dynamic behaviour of the tracked vehicle.

文摘In order to study the variation of machine tools’dynamic characteristics in the manufacturing space,a Kriging approximate model is proposed.Finite element method(FEM)is employed on the platform of ANSYS to establish finite element(FE)model with the dynamic characteristic of combined interface for a milling machine, which is newly designed for producing aero engine blades by a certain enterprise group in China. The stiffness and damping of combined interfaces are adjusted by using adaptive simulated annealing algorithm with the optimizing software of iSIGHT in the process of FE model update according to experimental modal analysis(EMA)results. The Kriging approximate model is established according to the finite element analysis results utilizing orthogonal design samples by taking into account of the range of configuration parameters. On the basis of the Kriging approximate model, the response surfaces between key response parameter and configuration parameters are obtained. The results indicate that configuration parameters have great effects on dynamic characteristics of machine tools, and the Kriging approximate model is an effective and rapid method for estimating dynamic characteristics of machine tools in the manufacturing space.

文摘A novel air-powered twin-rotor piston engine(ATPE) utilizing a differential velocity driving mechanism to achieve a high output torque was proposed. The ATPE had eight separated rotary cylinders which can dynamically enlarge the engine displacement as a result of the special driving mechanism, which was named dynamic volume expansion. The mathematical model of ATPE comprising a dynamic model and a thermodynamic model was established under the assumption of no mechanical friction. The model was numerically simulated in Matlab. The results show that shortage of low output torque confusing traditional air-powered engines can be overcome. The average output torque sharply increases to 100 N·m,which is about three times that of traditional air-powered engines with equal cylinder displacement under the pressure of 0.6 MPa at 480 r/min.ATPE can be used to drive vehicles directly without transmission box, therefore the energy transfer efficiency of ATPE can be increased.Furthermore, benefitting from the novel gas distribution system, the engine shows an ability in self-adjusting under different loads. The arrangements of air ports automatically adjust the open interval of air ports according to the load, which may simplify the speed control system.

文摘As a dynamic projection to latent structures(PLS)method with a good output prediction ability, dynamic inner PLS(DiPLS)is widely used in the prediction of key performance indi-cators.However,due to the oblique decomposition of the input space by DiPLS,there are false alarms in the actual industrial process during fault detection. To address the above problems,a dynamic modeling method based on autoregressive-dynamic inner total PLS(AR-DiTPLS)is proposed. The method first uses the regression relation matrix to decompose the input space orthogonally, which reduces useless information for the predic-tion output in the quality-related dynamic subspace. Then,a vector autoregressive model(VAR)is constructed for the predic-tion score to separate dynamic information and static informa-tion.Based on the VAR model, appropriate statistical indicators are further constructed for online monitoring, which reduces the occurrence of false alarms. The effectiveness of the method is verified by a Tennessee-Eastman industrial simulation process and a three-phase flow system.

文摘In order to maintain vibration performances within the limits of the design, a vibration-based feature extraction method for dynamic characteristic using empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and wavelet analysis was proposed. Finally, examination of the results confirms that the proposed vibration-based feature extraction method is very robust, and focuses on the relative merits of modification and full-scale structural optimization of engine, together with the creation of new low-vibration designs.

文摘Based on some assumptions, the dynamic analysis model of anchorage system is established. What is more, the finite difference method can be applied to the dynamic response analysis of harmonic and seismic random vibration for all kinds of anchor, and hence has a broad application prospect.
