The microbial induced calcium carbonate precipitation(MICP)technology provides a new approach to solve borehole destabilization in broken formations;however,the high-temperature and alkaline environments inhibit the g...The microbial induced calcium carbonate precipitation(MICP)technology provides a new approach to solve borehole destabilization in broken formations;however,the high-temperature and alkaline environments inhibit the growth of microorganisms,which in turn affects the performance of their wall enhancement performance.In this study,a pH and temperature-coupled induced domestication method was applied to Bacillus pasteurii,and its wall enhancement performance was evaluated.Post domestication,Bacillus pasteurii exhibited high growth activity at pH 10.3 and temperature 45℃.In a sodium carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC)drilling fluid environment,bacterial concentration reached 1.373 with urease activity at 1.98 after 24 h,and in a xanthan gum(XG)environment,the figures were 0.931 and 1.76,respectively—significantly higher than those before domestication.The Bacillus pasteurii-CMC system exhibited enhanced performance with the unconfined compressive strength of the specimen up to 1.232 MPa,permeability coefficient as low as 0.024,and calcium carbonate production up to 24.685 g.The crushed specimen portions remained lumpy with even calcium carbonate distribution.In contrast,the Bacillus pasteurii-XG system exhibited the highest unconfined compressive strength of 0.561 MPa,lowest permeability coefficient of 0.081,and the greatest calcium carbonate production of 16.03 g,with an externally cemented shell but internally loose structure and uneven calcium carbonate distribution,resulting in weaker mechanical properties.The Bacillus pasteurii induced predominantly vaterite calcium carbonate crystals in the CMC drilling fluid.In the XG drilling fluid,the crystals were mainly calcite.Both types effectively cemented the broken particles,improving formation strength and reducing permeability.However,under the same conditions,the Bacillus pasteurii-CMC system demonstrated a more pronounced enhancement effect.展开更多

Since an ...The purpose of this study is to contribute to the literature by studying the effects of sudden changes both on crude oil import price and domestic gasoline price on inflation for Turkey, an emerging country. Since an inflation targeting regime is being carried out by the Central Bank of Turkey, determination of such effects is becoming more important. Therefore empirical evidence in this paper will serve as guidance for those countries, which have an in- flation targeting regime. Analyses have been done in the period of October 2005-December 2012 by Markovswitching vector autoregressive （MS-VAR） models which are successful in capturing the nonlinear properties of variables. Using MS-VAR analysis, it is found that there are 2 regimes in the analysis period. Furthermore, regime changes can be dated and the turning points of economic cycles can be determined. In addition, it is found that the effect of the changes in crude oil and domestic gasoline prices on consumer prices and core inflation is not the same under different regimes. Moreover, the sudden increase in gasoline price is more important for consumer price infla- tion than crude oil price shocks. Another finding is the presence of a pass-through effect from oil price and ga- soline price to core inflation.展开更多

The results indicate that for domestic sewage (averagely, ρ(BOD5)=295.7 mg/L; ρ(CODCr )= 811.7 mg/L; ρ(SS)= 119.6 mg/L), the removal rates are 95.3%, 85.7%, 91%, respectively. The CASS technique is operable in a wide range of temperature (about -5～20 ℃), but φ(S) and ρ(S) values are higher at low temperature than those at normal temperature. A low temperature is good for oxygen transmission and the cyclic fluctuation of DO (dissolved oxygen) is benefit for the removal of P and N, preventing the sludge from bulking.展开更多

Olfactory receptors（ORs）,the first dedicated molecules with which odorants physically interact to arouse an olfactory sensation,constitute the largest gene family in vertebrates.Dogs and wolves,like many other mamma...Olfactory receptors（ORs）,the first dedicated molecules with which odorants physically interact to arouse an olfactory sensation,constitute the largest gene family in vertebrates.Dogs and wolves,like many other mammals,have a highly developed capability to detect and identify odorant molecules,even at minimum concentrations.In this study,the olfactory receptor repertoire from domestic dog and its closest relative,the wolf,were sequenced to estimate the fraction of pseudogenes in each subspecies.The fraction of disrupted olfactory receptor genes in dog was 17.78%,whereas,that in wolf was 12.08%.As expected the dog was less dependent on olfaction than the wolf,and the dog had more olfactory receptor pseudogenes.However,the observed difference between the two subspecies was not at the significant level（χ2 = 1.388,p = 0.239 0.05）.The values indicated that although domestication might play a role in the reduction of OR genes,it could not be concluded that the living environment provided by domestication lead to a significant reduction of the functional olfactory receptor repertoire.Furthermore,the purpose of domestication may also have influence on the ratio of functional olfactory receptor genes reduction.展开更多

文摘Olfactory receptors（ORs）,the first dedicated molecules with which odorants physically interact to arouse an olfactory sensation,constitute the largest gene family in vertebrates.Dogs and wolves,like many other mammals,have a highly developed capability to detect and identify odorant molecules,even at minimum concentrations.In this study,the olfactory receptor repertoire from domestic dog and its closest relative,the wolf,were sequenced to estimate the fraction of pseudogenes in each subspecies.The fraction of disrupted olfactory receptor genes in dog was 17.78%,whereas,that in wolf was 12.08%.As expected the dog was less dependent on olfaction than the wolf,and the dog had more olfactory receptor pseudogenes.However,the observed difference between the two subspecies was not at the significant level（χ2 = 1.388,p = 0.239 0.05）.The values indicated that although domestication might play a role in the reduction of OR genes,it could not be concluded that the living environment provided by domestication lead to a significant reduction of the functional olfactory receptor repertoire.Furthermore,the purpose of domestication may also have influence on the ratio of functional olfactory receptor genes reduction.
