Understanding the creep mechanical behavior of deep roadway surrounding rock under the influence of underground water is of great significance. Compression and creep experiments on sandstone with varying water contents were conducted using a deep soft rock five-linked rheological experiment system. The experimental conditions, including water content (0%, 0.8%, 1.6%, 2.4% and 3.3%) and confining pressure (0, 6, 9 and 12 MPa), were determined based on pressure-free water absorption tests and in-situ stress measurements. The experimental results show that the compressive strength, creep failure stress, and dilatancy stress of sandstone decrease exponentially with increasing water content, while they increase exponentially with confining pressure. The ratio of lateral to axial instantaneous strain increases nearly linearly with the increase of stress, and the lateral creep strain characteristics of the sample are more significant than the axial ones. The duration of the attenuation creep stage of sandstone decreases with increasing water content and increases with increasing confining pressure. The lateral strain enters the steady-state creep stage before the axial strain, and the onset time of the accelerated creep stage of lateral strain under the failure stress is earlier than that of axial strain. The long-term strength of sandstone was determined based on the lateral steady-state creep rate curve, showing a negative exponential relationship with water content and a positive exponential relationship with confining pressure. A method for determining the long-term strength of rocks based on the ratio of lateral strain to axial strain (μc) is proposed, which is independent of water content. The research results provide a reliable theoretical basis for the analysis of the long-term stability of roadways under the influence of groundwater and the early prediction of creep failure.展开更多

Based on experimental results, rock rheological properties influenced by seepage-stress coupling were studied, and variations of seepage rate with time in complete creep processes of rock were analyzed. It is shown that, when the applied stress is less than failure stress level, the creep deformation is not obvious, and its main form is steady-state creep. When applied stress level is greater than or less than but close to fracture stress, it is easier to see the increase of creep deformation and the more obvious accelerative creep characteristics. The circumferential creep deformation is obviously higher than the axial creep deformation. At the stage of steady-state creep, the average of seepage flow rate is about 4.7×10-9 rn/s at confining pressure (tr3) of 2 MPa, and is about 3.9×10-9 m/s at a3 of 6 MPa. It is seen that the seepage flow rate at or3 of 2 MPa in this case is obviously larger than that at tr3 of 6 MPa. At the stage of creep acceleration, the seepage flow rate is markedly increased with the increase of time. The variation of rock permeability is directly connected to the growth and evolution of creep crack. It is suggested that the permeability coefficient in complete creep processes of rock is not a constant, but is a function of rock creep strain, confining pressure, damage variable and pore water pressure. The results can be considered to provide a reliable reference for the establishment of rock rheological model and parameter identification.展开更多

The corresponding creep strain and mechanical properties of samples were studied by conducting creep tests and uniaxial tensile tests. The electrical conductivity was measured using an eddy-current conductivity meter. The microstructures were observed by transmission electron microscopy(TEM). With the increase in regression aging time, the steady creep strain first increased and then decreased, and reached the maximum at 45 min.The steady creep strain increased with the increase in regression aging temperature, and reached the maximum at 200 ℃.The level of steady creep strain was determined by precipitation and dislocation recovery. Creep aging strengthens 7B50-RRA treated with regression aging time at 190 ℃ for 10 min, and the difference in the mechanical properties of alloy becomes smaller. The diffusion of solute atoms reduces the scattering of electrons, leading to a significant improvement in electrical conductivity and stress corrosion cracking(SCC) resistance after creep aging. The findings of this study could help in the application of creep aging forming(CAF) technology in Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy under RRA treatment.展开更多

In this study, we investigated the effect of aging temperature(143 °C-163 °C) on the creep behavior of Al-Li-S4 aluminum alloy and their mechanical properties at room temperature. The mechanical properties were tested by tensile testing, and the microstructural evolution at different aging temperatures was examined by transmission electron microscopy. Results show that the creep strains and the room-temperature mechanical properties after creep aging increase with the aging temperature. As the aging temperature increases, the creep strain increases from 0.018% at 143 °C to 0.058% at 153 °C, and then to 0.094% at 163 °C. Within 25 h aging, the number of creep steps increases and the duration time of the same steps is shortened with the growth of aging temperatures. Therefore, the increase in aging temperatures accelerates the progress of the entire creep. Two main strengthening precipitates θ′(Al2 Cu) and T1(Al2 Cu Li) phases were characterized. This work indicates that the creep strain and mechanical properties of Al-Li-S4 alloys can be improved by controlling aging temperatures.展开更多

The corresponding physical models were established for analyzing the microstructure evolution and creep mechanism. The results show that four second phases are found in Mg-5.5%Zn-(0.7%, 1.5%, 3.5%, 7.5%)Y alloys, including Mg3 Zn Y, Mg3Zn6 Y, Mg3Zn3Y2 and Mg7Zn3, where the rare earth rich phase(Mg3Zn Y, Mg3Zn6 Y, Mg3Zn3Y2) with high melting point can more effectively improve the creep resistance properties of alloys than Mg7Zn3. With the increasing of Y content, the creep resistance of alloys is improved correspondingly. The alloys with(1.5%, 3.5%)Y addition exhibit high creep resistance at temperatures from 175 °C to 200 °C and load from 55 MPa to 70 MPa. The 7.5%Y added alloy presents excellent creep resistance even at 275 °C and 55 MPa. The second phase which shows discontinuous distribution at the grain boundary of(0.7%, 1.5%, 3.5%)Y added alloys has preferred orientation and clogs in triple junctions of grain boundary. Simultaneously, the arrangement of second phase particles along tensile direction and the formation of denuded zones are observed during the creep process. Moreover, the crack initiates in these areas and propagates along grain boundary. Compared with discontinuous second phase, the continuous skeleton-like second phase of 7.5%Y added alloy at grain boundary has a better effect on improving the creep resistance properties of alloys.展开更多

Increasing temperature resulted in a noteworthy change in creep ageing behaviour, including a variation in creep curves, an improvement in creep rate during early creep ageing, and an increased creep strain. Tensile tests indicate that the specimen aged at higher temperature reached peak strength within a shorter time. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) was employed to explore the effect of temperature on the microstructural evolution of the AA2198 during creep ageing deformation. Many larger dislocations and even tangled dislocation structures were observed in the sample aged at higher temperature. The number of T1 precipitates increased at higher ageing temperature at the same ageing time. Based on the analysed results, a new mechanism, considering the combined effects of the formation of larger dislocation structures induced by higher temperature and diffusion of solute atoms towards these larger or tangled dislocations, was proposed to explain the effect of temperature on microstructural evolution and creep behaviour.展开更多

文摘Based on reasonable assumptions that simplified the calculational model,a simple and practical method was proposed to calculate the post-construction settlement of high-speed railway bridge pile foundation by using the Mesri creep model to describe the soil characteristics and the Mindlin-Geddes method considering pile diameter to calculate the vertical additional stress of pile bottom.A program named CPPS was designed for this method to calculate the post-construction settlement of a high-speed railway bridge pile foundation. The result indicates that the post-construction settlement in 100 years meets the requirements of the engineering specifications, and in the first two decades, the post-construction settlement is about 80% of its total settlement, while the settlement in the rest eighty years tends to be stable.Compared with the measured settlement after laying railway tracks, the calculational result is closed to that of the measured, and the results are conservative with a high computational accuracy. It is noted that the method can be used to calculate the post-construction settlement for the preliminary design of high-speed railway bridge pile foundation.

文摘Active fault creep slip induces deformation of rock mass buried deeply in fault zones that significantly affect the operational safety of long linear projects passing through it.Displacement distribution patterns of rock masses in active fault zones which have been investigated previously are the key design basis for such projects. Therefore,a discrete element numerical model with different fault types, slip time, dip angles, and complex geological features was established, and then the creep slip for normal, reverse, and strike-slip faults were simulated to analyze the displacement distribution in the fault rock mass.A disk rotation test system and the corresponding laboratory test method were developed for simulating rock mass displacement induced by creep slippage of faults.A series of rotation tests for softand hard-layered specimens under combined compression and torsional stress were conducted to verify the numerical results and analyze the factors influencing the displacement distribution. An S-shaped displacement distribution independent of fault dip angle was identified corresponding to reverse, normal, and strike-slip faults. The results indicated that the higher the degree of horizontal extrusion, the softer the rock mass at the fault core, and the higher the degree of displacement concentration in the fault core;about 70%of the creep slip displacement occurs within this zone under 100 years of creep slippage.

文摘The bending creep and its disturbance effects of red sandstone rock beam and oil shale rock beam were studied by adopting the self-developed gravitation level style rock creep test machine and bending creep test system, and the constitutive equations were established. It is found that fracture morphology of rock beams under no disturbance load is regular, cracking position of fractures is on part of loading concentration, the crack starts from a neutral plane. However, fracture morphology of rock beams under disturbance load is irregular, cracking position of fractures deviates from a neutral plane.Delayed instability of rock beam occurs for some time under constant disturbance load. When disturbance load is beyond a certain range, suddenly instability of occurs rock beam in a certain time. The results show that there is a guiding significance for creep stability in the geotechnical engineering fields.

文摘A study was conducted to better understand how different parameters, namely, regression aging time and regression aging temperature, affect the creep aging properties, i.e., the creep deformation and performance of Al-Zn-MgCu alloy during regressive reaging. The findings of this study could help in the application of creep aging forming(CAF) technology in Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy under RRA treatment.

文摘The mechanical behavior of EPS(Expanded polystyrene) with three densities at room temperature and under tension loading was studied. The results show that EPS material is characterized by brittle behavior in the tension tests, and tensile properties of EPS increase with the increase of density.Volume fraction has no a significant effect on the modulus of these foams. The tensile creep strain increases with stress for EPS with same density, indicating that the creep behavior is of the stress dependency. And the creep behavior of EPS exhibits density dependency, which the creep strain decreases with densities for a fixed stress value. Moreover the creep behavior under the constant tension load is well in coincidence with the three-parameter solid model.

文摘Creep age forming techniques have been widely used in aerospace industries. This work indicates that the creep strain and mechanical properties of Al-Li-S4 alloys can be improved by controlling aging temperatures.

文摘For most soft soil, the consolidation process and the creep process were coupled and the character of settlement time curve was obtained by the consolidation test at the same time.A simple and continuous function was presented to express the whole process of consolidation including immediate settlement stage, the primary consolidation stage and the secondary consolidation stage. And the features of the continuous function were analyzed. The results of the long-term(duration to 18 months) consolidation test on clays from the Chek Lap Kok formation proved the rightness of the method. In the end,the parameter meanings of the continuous function were discussed.

文摘The tensile creep resistance of Mg-5.5%Zn-(0.7%, 1.5%, 3.5%, 7.5%)Y(mass fraction, %) gravity-casting alloys was investigated systematically. Compared with discontinuous second phase, the continuous skeleton-like second phase of 7.5%Y added alloy at grain boundary has a better effect on improving the creep resistance properties of alloys.

文摘The effect of temperature in range of 155-175 ℃ on the creep behavior, microstructural evolution, and precipitation of an Al-Cu-Li alloy was experimentally investigated during creep ageing deformation under 180 MPa for 20 h. Based on the analysed results, a new mechanism, considering the combined effects of the formation of larger dislocation structures induced by higher temperature and diffusion of solute atoms towards these larger or tangled dislocations, was proposed to explain the effect of temperature on microstructural evolution and creep behaviour.

文摘Creep ageing forming(CAF)has been widely used in the aerospace engineering, but how to optimize the processing conditions, especially under complex stress state of the CAF process for large-size components produced by friction-stir welding is still a great challenge to now.In this work, the creep ageing behaviors and underlying microstructure evolution of a thick friction-stir welded Al-Cu alloy plate after CAF process under different stress levels are systematically investigated. The creep strain and the strength of the joint are both significantly increased when the stress is close to the average yield strength of the initial weld joint. The grain size reduces while the local strain and dislocation density increase from top to bottom of the NZ;hence, the bottom layer of the weld joint exhibits higher creep strain and steady-stage creep strain rate during the CAF process. The results reveal that the gradient microstructures sensitive to the stress level effectively govern the creep-ageing performance from the upper to the bottom layer in a thick friction stir welded Al-Cu alloy plate.Rationally increasing the initial dislocation density of the weld joint can both enhance the tensile properties and promote the creep deformation of the weld joint for CAF process.
