The relations between t...In this paper, the naturally evolving complex systems, such as biotic and social ones, are considered. Focusing on their structures, a feature is noteworthy, i.e., the similarity in structures. The relations between the functions and behaviors of these systems and their similar structures will be studied. Owing to the management of social systems and the course of evolution of biotic systems may be regarded as control processes, the researches will be within the scope of control problems. Moreover, since it is difficult to model for biotic and social systems, it will start with the control problems of complex systems, possessing similar structures, in engineering. The obtained results show that for either linear or nonlinear systems and for a lot of control problems similar structures lead to a series of simplifications. In general, the original system may be decomposed into reduced amount of subsystems with lower dimensions and simpler structures. By virtue of such subsystems, the control problems of original system can be solved more simply. At last, it turns round to observe the biotic and social systems and some analyses are given.展开更多
During maintainability demonstration,the maintenance time for complex systems consisting of mixed technologies generally conforms to a mixture distribution.However existing maintainability standards and guidance do no...During maintainability demonstration,the maintenance time for complex systems consisting of mixed technologies generally conforms to a mixture distribution.However existing maintainability standards and guidance do not explain explicitly how to deal with this situation.This paper develops a comprehensive maintainability demonstration method for complex systems with a mixed maintenance time distribution.First of all,a K-means algorithm and an expectation-maximization(EM)algorithm are used to partition the maintenance time data for all possible clusters.The Bayesian information criterion(BIC)is then used to choose the optimal model.After this,the clustering results for equipment are obtained according to their degree of membership.The degree of similarity for the maintainability of different kinds of equipment is then determined using the projection method.By using a Bootstrap method,the prior distribution is obtained from the maintenance time data for the most similar equipment.Then,a test method based on Bayesian theory is outlined for the maintainability demonstration.Finally,the viability of the proposed approach is illustrated by means of an example.展开更多

It draws on merits of both GA and SAA ,and offsets their shortcomings.The difference from GA is that AGA takes objective function as adaptability function directly,so it cuts down some unnecessary time expense because of float-point calculation of function conversion.The difference from SAA is that AGA need not execute a very long Markov chain iteration at each point of temperature, so it speeds up the convergence of solution and makes no assumption on the search space,so it is simple and easy to be implemented.It can be applied to a wide class of problems.The optimizing principle and the implementing steps of AGA were expounded. The example of the parameter optimization of a typical complex electromechanical system named temper mill shows that AGA is effective and superior to the conventional GA and SAA.The control system of temper mill optimized by AGA has the optimal performance in the adjustable ranges of its parameters.展开更多
Aimed at inner quality controlling for complex surface parts, an ultrasonic testing system for complex surface parts has been developed using ultrasonic NDT(Non-destructive Testing)which has features of strong penetra...Aimed at inner quality controlling for complex surface parts, an ultrasonic testing system for complex surface parts has been developed using ultrasonic NDT(Non-destructive Testing)which has features of strong penetration, well direction, high sensitivity, low cost, and harmless to people and material. The technologies of the computer, NC (Numerical control), precision mechanism, signal analysis and processing were integrated in the testing system. The system includes a PC, system software, ultrasonic data acquisition card, stepper motor drive card and five-axis precision mechanical device, etc. The software was developed using WIN98-based VC++. According to CAD data of the parts and interpolation methods, the scanning programs can be programmed. The five-axis scanning system is driven by the CNC(computer numerical control) system to control the attitude of ultrasonic probes. The system’s automatic scanning for complex surface parts, real-time acquiring ultrasonic data and automatic identifying flaw signal have been realized. This system can be used not only for testing complex surface parts, but for testing random curve parts. With fast testing speed, high sensitivity, high testing precision and high reliability, the system has a wide adaptability.展开更多
