To improve frame synchronization precision, a scheme named training symbol correlation (TSC) is presented for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing ( OFDM ) system. Based on the solution from Schmidl and Cox, a timing metric related to TSC scheme is put forward and examined. The specific method to select a threshold value provides more precise detection results, which can be shown by performance comparison between the two schemes through Monte Carlo simulation. Taking IEEE 802.1 la WLAN standard as an example, the proposed approach is superior to the most popular Schmidl scheme in terms of BER. 展开更多

This paper introduces a joint nonlinearity and chromatic dispersion pre-compensation method for coherent optical orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing systems. The research results show that this method can reduce the walk- off effect and can therefore equalize the nonlinear impairments effectively. Compared with the only other existing nonlinearity pre-compensation method, the joint nonlinearity and chromatic dispersion pre-compensation method is not only suitable for low-dispersion optical orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing system, but also effective for high- dispersion optical orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing transmission system with higher input power but without optical dispersion compensation. The suggested solution does not increase computation complexity compared with only nonlinearity pre-compensation method. For 40 Gbit/s coherent optical orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing 20 × 80 km standard single-mode fibre system, the suggested method can improve the nonlinear threshold (for Q 〉 10 dB) about 2.7, 1.2 and 1.0 dB, and the maximum Q factor about 1.2, 0.4 and 0.3 dB, for 2, 8 and 16 ps/(nm.km) dispersion coefficients. 展开更多

The major constraint on the performance of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based underwater acoustic (UWA) communication is to keep subcarriers orthogonal. In this paper, Doppler estimation and the respective compensation technique along with various diversity techniques were deliberated for OFDM-based systems best suited for underwater wireless information exchange. In practice, for mobile communication, adjustment and tuning of transducers in order to get spatial diversity is extremely difficult. Considering the relatively low coherence bandwidth in UWA, the frequency diversity design with the Doppler compensation function was elaborated here. The outfield experiments of mobile underwater acoustic communication (UWAC) based on OFDM were carried out with 0.17 bit/(s-Hz) spectral efficiency. The traditional fractional frequency offset(FFO) estimation schemes for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) in non-cooperative communication have the problems of susceptible performance with the frequency offset values and the number of OFDM symbols,a novel fractional frequency offset blind estimation scheme based on EKF for OFDM systems is conceived.The nonlinear function of the frequency offset is calculated by employing the correlation.And then the frequency offset is estimated by means of the iterative algorithm of EKF.The finally fractional frequency offset is estimated by adopting repeated the above process.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme is robust to the frequency offset values without any requirements of a prior knowledge. 展开更多

Non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA) is a new access method to achieve high performance gains in terms of capacity and throughput, so it is currently under consideration as one of the candidates for fifth generation(5 G) technologies. NOMA utilizes power domain in order to superimpose signals of multiple users in a single transmitted signal. This creates a lot of interference at the receive side. Although the use of successive interference cancellation(SIC) technique reduces the interference, but to further improve the receiver performance, in this paper, we have proposed a joint Walsh-Hadamard transform(WHT) and NOMA approach for achieving better performance gains than the conventional NOMA. WHT is a well-known code used in communication systems and is used as an orthogonal variable spreading factor(OVSF) in communication systems. Application of WHT to NOMA results in low bit error rate(BER) and high throughput performance for both low and high channel gain users. Further, it also reduces peak to average power ratio(PAPR) of the user signal. The results are discussed in terms of comparison between the conventionalNOMA and the proposed technique, which shows that it offers high performance gains in terms of low BER at different SNR levels, reduced PAPR, high user throughput performance and better spectral efficiency. 展开更多

In recent years,the time-frequency overlapping multi-carrier signal has been a novel and valuable topic in blind signal processing,especially in the non-cooperative receiving field.But there is little related research in public published papers.This paper proposes two timing estimation algorithms,which are non-data-aided and based on the cyclic auto-correlation function.In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithms,the theoretical bound of the timing estimation is derived.According to the analyses and simulation results,the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms has been demonstrated.It shows that MethodⅠhas better performance than MethodⅡ.However,MethodⅡdoes not need prior information,so it has a wider range of applications. 展开更多

The emerging ultra-wideband (UWB) system offers a great potential for the design of high-speed short-range communications.Compared with great progress at physical layer,the corresponding medium access control (MAC) layer designs are naturally placed on the schedules.We focus on the optimal power load scheme,which is an integral part of the MAC layer protocol design,for UWB space-time coded (STC) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) transmissions.Assumed the transmitter has perfect or partial channel stage information (CSI).Based on the optimization criteria of maximizing capacity,three kinds of power load schemes were presented with different tradeoff among performance,complexity and feedback bandwidth overhead.The proposed schemes are verified and compared under the channel prototype proposed by IEEE 802.15.3a Task Group. 展开更多

针对基于索引调制的正交频分复用(OFDM-IM)技术在索引信息受限于载波激活模式数量和单一信号星座模式的问题,提出一种多模式选择的OFDM索引调制传输方案。该方案通过设计可区分的信号星座,使得模式组内和模式组间相邻星座点之间的欧氏... 针对基于索引调制的正交频分复用(OFDM-IM)技术在索引信息受限于载波激活模式数量和单一信号星座模式的问题,提出一种多模式选择的OFDM索引调制传输方案。该方案通过设计可区分的信号星座,使得模式组内和模式组间相邻星座点之间的欧氏距离相等,从而提升误码率。此外,通过在多模式选择索引调制的索引信息中引入全子载波激活模式,显著提升系统的频谱效率。同时,由于所提方案的子载波激活模式与二进制数字相匹配,系统能够采用低复杂度的对数似然比检测算法,并保持良好的误码率性能。理论分析与仿真结果表明,在加性白高斯噪声信道和瑞利衰落信道下,相较于OFDM-IM、OFDM-SSIM和MMS-OFDM-IM传输方案,所提方案有效提升了频谱效率且保持了良好的误码率。 展开更多

在正交频分复用(OFDM)系统信道估计中,以阈值为基础的离散傅里叶变换(DFT)去噪算法中阈值的选取非常关键,阈值过大会滤除有用信号,过小则无法滤除噪声。针对此问题,本文提出一种改进的基于二次阈值的DFT去噪算法,即利用循环前缀(CP)外... 在正交频分复用(OFDM)系统信道估计中,以阈值为基础的离散傅里叶变换(DFT)去噪算法中阈值的选取非常关键,阈值过大会滤除有用信号,过小则无法滤除噪声。针对此问题,本文提出一种改进的基于二次阈值的DFT去噪算法,即利用循环前缀(CP)外噪声样本来设置第一次阈值以滤除CP内噪声样点,然后在此基础上结合CP内外信号样本设置第二次阈值门限,以尽量减小第一次阈值设置过大或过小对信号造成的干扰。仿真结果表明,与现有DFT阈值门限算法相比,本文算法估计性能更好,在信噪比≥15 dB时,系统误码率降低了50%。在系统误码率为10^(-1)或更低时,本文算法至少有3 dB的性能提升,且能获取较为准确的信道信息,进一步减小了系统均方误差和误码率。 展开更多

当前,移动通信快速发展,无线通信频段正积极扩张,逐步与雷达工作频段重合,致使雷达受到越来越多的通信干扰。为了使得通信既能高效利用雷达频段,又能避免与雷达形成冲突,雷达通信频谱共享技术得到了广泛的研究与探索,其中,雷达通信一体... 当前,移动通信快速发展,无线通信频段正积极扩张,逐步与雷达工作频段重合,致使雷达受到越来越多的通信干扰。为了使得通信既能高效利用雷达频段,又能避免与雷达形成冲突,雷达通信频谱共享技术得到了广泛的研究与探索,其中,雷达通信一体化信号得到了重点关注。然而,传统的一体化信号自由度有限,无法兼顾雷达和通信的性能。为此,文中进一步拓展利用了时频域子载波自由度,提出了基于正交频分复用(OFDM)梳状谱的雷达通信一体化信号技术。所提方法针对OFDM梳状谱信号固有的距离模糊问题,通过时频捷变的方法,获得了多时频尺度下的视在距离,并采用筛选匹配算法恢复目标真实距离,在保证无线通信性能的同时,具备了优秀的雷达模糊函数。仿真结果表明:所提方法有效兼顾了优良雷达探测性能和高速无线通信性能。 展开更多

正交频分复用(OFDM)系统应用于可见光通信(VLC)中时,存在易受多径干扰、噪声频偏和较高的峰均比(PAPR)等因素影响的问题。提出一种基于滤波器组多载波(FBMC)的VLC系统。首先,运用偏移正交幅度调制(OQAM)和由逆快速傅里叶变换(IFFT)和多... 正交频分复用(OFDM)系统应用于可见光通信(VLC)中时,存在易受多径干扰、噪声频偏和较高的峰均比(PAPR)等因素影响的问题。提出一种基于滤波器组多载波(FBMC)的VLC系统。首先,运用偏移正交幅度调制(OQAM)和由逆快速傅里叶变换(IFFT)和多相网络(PPN)组成的综合滤波器,有效提升系统误码率性能,并减少带外泄露。然后,通过蒙特卡罗方法对其进行仿真验证。仿真与实验结果表明:在子载波数量为128、调制方式为16QAM且系统误码率为10^(-3)的情况下,所提出的系统相较于OFDM系统所需的信噪比(SNR)改善了大约5 dB;同时,在归一化频率为0.1时,所提系统的带外泄漏功率相对于OFDM系统减少了40 dB,而系统的调制误差率(MER)达到了19.6 dB。 展开更多
