This paper investigates the impacts of a bus holding strategy on the mutual interference between buses and passenger cars in a non-dedicated bus route,as well as the impacts on the characteristics of pollutant emissio...This paper investigates the impacts of a bus holding strategy on the mutual interference between buses and passenger cars in a non-dedicated bus route,as well as the impacts on the characteristics of pollutant emissions of passenger cars.The dynamic behaviors of these two types of vehicles are described using cellular automata(CA)models under open boundary conditions.Numerical simulations are carried out to obtain the phase diagrams of the bus system and the trajectories of buses and passenger cars before and after the implementation of the bus holding strategy under different probabilities of passenger cars entering a two-lane mixed traffic system.Then,we analyze the flow rate,satisfaction rate,and pollutant emission rates of passenger cars together with the performance of a mixed traffic system.The results show that the bus holding strategy can effectively alleviate bus bunching,whereas it has no significant impact on the flow rate and pollutant emission rates of passenger cars;the flow rate,satisfaction rate,and pollutant emission rates of passenger cars for either the traffic system or for each lane are influenced by the bus departure interval and the number of passengers arriving at bus stops.展开更多

Essentially, the paper introduces the integration of FCS on I/O layers. Based on a real coal mine safety-monitoring and control system applied with a CAN field bus, the major technology of system relays and extensions is discussed. We believe that one of the most applicable methods is currently replacing the connection between function-stations and field-sensors with a CAN bus on I/0 layers for system integration.展开更多

The problems of the existing system are first solv...To guarantee bus priority with a minimum impact on car traffic at intersections, an optimal control system of the intermittent bus-only approach (IBA) was proposed. The problems of the existing system are first solved through optimization: the judgment time of the IBA system was advanced to allow a bus to jump car queues if the bus was detected to arrive at the intersection, and the instant that the IBA lane became available to cars was controlled dynamically to increase the capacity of the IBA lane. The total car delay in one cycle was then analyzed quantitatively when implementing the optimal control system. The results show that in comparison with the existing system of the IBA, the car delay is greatly reduced and the probability of a car stopping twice is low after optimizing the IBA system.展开更多

The mathematics model of the drive control system for this motor is established. The new mode that the added exiting magnetism field could be weakened and the speed of the motor could be controlled automatically is proposed and realized. The method of root locus design is applied to analyze the acceleration control characteristic. The results of simulation show that the new drive motor control system has extraordinary response characteristic and adjustable performance. Experiments of vehicle running show that the drive control system's antijamming ability is strong and the adjustable performance is fast and smooth, it can meet the demand of power characteristic very well.展开更多

It usually annoys the customers and have a bad influe...With the development of society, customers are having an increasing expectation on bus service. Problems such as bus being late all the time seem to become common. It usually annoys the customers and have a bad influence on bus companies.It's crucial to improve the bus service. This report adapts and applies a modified SERVQUAL approach to estimate the service quality in public transport. Wessex Red servcie, bus service in England UK, operated in partnership with the University of the West of England and the University of Bristol, is evaluated in the report being representative for bus service. In this study, the author has applied the SERVQUAL questionnaire among the three groups of customers in Bristol UK based on these five dimensions of SERVQUAL:"Tangibles, Responsiveness, Assurance, Reliability and Empathy"(Parasuraman, 1988). The results illustrates a high degree of importance placed on reliability, in which bus being late is an issue most concerned. The author analyzes the problem and finally provides suggestions and recommendation for the issue. This study is to provide a quality evaluation tool readily usable by transport operators willing to certify the service offered and it also offers a tool for practioners characterized by flexibility so as to fit individual needs. In addition, this study is beneficial to students who are learning Marketing. The study provides students a methodology in their marketing research. It also gives students a tool to evaluate services so as to set up their marketing plan and could give a better horizon to understand marketing.展开更多
