The study showed the results of a survey of 300 farmers which was organized to assess ...This study has been conducted in three districts of Punjab Province namely, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajan Pur and Bahawalpur of Pakistan. The study showed the results of a survey of 300 farmers which was organized to assess awareness level of farmers regarding crop insurance, factors affecting the awareness level among farmers and the perception of farmers about crop insurance. Based on exploratory research work upon the responses of farmers, the average and standard deviation were calculated. Probit model was applied to explore the factors affecting the awareness level of farmers. SPSS was used for the analysis of the collected data. The results revealed that out of 300 farmers, 184 farmers were aware with crop insurance and rests of the 116 farmers were not aware. Banks and E-media were found to be the two most important sources of the awareness for the respondent farmers. In the study area, the climatic risks were reported as the most severe risks faced by the farmers. The results also revealed the existence of negative perceptions of the farmers about crop insurance i.e. farmers perceived crop insurance as a kind of tax and they believed premium was so high that it was out of range of poor farmers and only large scale farmers could afford it. Results obtained by applying Probit model revealed that "education" and "previously availed agricultural credit" were the two most important factors which affected the awareness of the farmers regarding crop insurance.展开更多
Space-based optical(SBO)space surveillance has attracted widespread interest in the last two decades due to its considerable value in space situation awareness(SSA).SBO observation strategy,which is related to the per...Space-based optical(SBO)space surveillance has attracted widespread interest in the last two decades due to its considerable value in space situation awareness(SSA).SBO observation strategy,which is related to the performance of space surveillance,is the top-level design in SSA missions reviewed.The recognized real programs about SBO SAA proposed by the institutions in the U.S.,Canada,Europe,etc.,are summarized firstly,from which an insight of the development trend of SBO SAA can be obtained.According to the aim of the SBO SSA,the missions can be divided into general surveillance and space object tracking.Thus,there are two major categories for SBO SSA strategies.Existing general surveillance strategies for observing low earth orbit(LEO)objects and beyond-LEO objects are summarized and compared in terms of coverage rate,revisit time,visibility period,and image processing.Then,the SBO space object tracking strategies,which has experienced from tracking an object with a single satellite to tracking an object with multiple satellites cooperatively,are also summarized.Finally,this paper looks into the development trend in the future and points out several problems that challenges the SBO SSA.展开更多
The status of an operator’s situation awareness is one of the critical factors that influence the quality of the missions.Thus the measurement method of the situation awareness status is an important topic to researc...The status of an operator’s situation awareness is one of the critical factors that influence the quality of the missions.Thus the measurement method of the situation awareness status is an important topic to research.So far,there are lots of methods designed for the measurement of situation awareness status,but there is no model that can measure it accurately in real-time,so this work is conducted to deal with such a gap.Firstly,collect the relevant physiological data of operators while they are performing a specific mission,simultaneously,measure their status of situation awareness by using the situation awareness global assessment technique(SAGAT),which is known for accuracy but cannot be used in real-time.And then,after the preprocessing of the raw data,use the physiological data as features,the SAGAT’s results as a label to train a fuzzy cognitive map(FCM),which is an explainable and powerful intelligent model.Also,a hybrid learning algorithm of particle swarm optimization(PSO)and gradient descent is proposed for the FCM training.The final results show that the learned FCM can assess the status of situation awareness accurately in real-time,and the proposed hybrid learning algorithm has better efficiency and accuracy.展开更多
Recent researches show that inter-session network coding could decrease the number of packets transmission and achieve higher throughput in wireless network compared with traditional forwarding mechanism. In most exis...Recent researches show that inter-session network coding could decrease the number of packets transmission and achieve higher throughput in wireless network compared with traditional forwarding mechanism. In most existing relay mechanisms based on inter-session network such as COPE, relay node demands to collect the messages from its neighbor nodes to get notice of which packets already overheard by them so as to determine whether there exists coding opportunity between or among forwarding packets. However, transmission overhead of this message collection and computing cost of opportunity determination will degrade the performance of these mechanisms. It is observed that coding opportunity at relay node is much more related with the local topology, and the opportunity of encoding three or more packets together is far less than that of encoding two packets together in wireless network with general density. Based on this, a new coding-aware routing mechanism, named TCAR, is proposed. TCAR ignores the oppommity of encoding three or more than three packets together. Each relay node maintains an encoding mapping table being established according to the result of its local topology detection, which can be used to calculate the path cost during routing setup phase, and determine that which two packets can be encoded together during the packets forwarding phase. In TCAR, instead of periodic messages collection, each relay nodes just need once local topology detection, and the encoding determination is much simpler than that of the former mechanisms. Simulation results show that compared with typical inter-session network coding mechanisms COPE and COPE-based routing, TCAR achieves 12% and 7% throughput gains, and keeps the minimum end to end delay.展开更多

Objective:To explore the relationship between cancer awareness and the survival of the patients with non-small cell lung carcinoma(NSCLC).Methods:A total of 865 NSCLC patients were screened for the risk factors,includ...Objective:To explore the relationship between cancer awareness and the survival of the patients with non-small cell lung carcinoma(NSCLC).Methods:A total of 865 NSCLC patients were screened for the risk factors,including age,gender,address,tumor/lymph nodes/metastasis(TNM)stage,and cancer awareness.Survival of the patients was calculated by Kaplan-Meier method and Cox regression analysis.Results:After an average observation time of 304 d(ranging from 0 to 4718 d),62 of the 394 patients in the cancer awareness group survived,whereas 26 of the 471 patients in the cancer concealment group survived.Cancer-specific and all-cause survival was poorer in the cancer concealment group(P<0.001 for each,log-rank test).Cox multivariate regression analysis showed that cancer concealment displayed significantly lower cancer-specific survival[hazard ratio(HR)=1.534,95%con fi dence interval(CI)1.320 to 1.784,P<0.001]and all-cause survival(HR=1.558,95%CI 1.346 to 1.803,P<0.001).Conclusion:Cancer concealment is associated with a poor survival of NSCLC patients,which may prohibit the patients from obtaining the real“right to survival”.展开更多

In the process of performing a task,autonomous unmanned systems face the problem of scene changing,which requires the ability of real-time decision-making under dynamically changing scenes.Therefore,taking the unmanne...In the process of performing a task,autonomous unmanned systems face the problem of scene changing,which requires the ability of real-time decision-making under dynamically changing scenes.Therefore,taking the unmanned system coordinative region control operation as an example,this paper combines knowledge representation with probabilistic decisionmaking and proposes a role-based Bayesian decision model for autonomous unmanned systems that integrates scene cognition and individual preferences.Firstly,according to utility value decision theory,the role-based utility value decision model is proposed to realize task coordination according to the preference of the role that individual is assigned.Then,multi-entity Bayesian network is introduced for situation assessment,by which scenes and their uncertainty related to the operation are semantically described,so that the unmanned systems can conduct situation awareness in a set of scenes with uncertainty.Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified in a virtual task scenario.This research has important reference value for realizing scene cognition,improving cooperative decision-making ability under dynamic scenes,and achieving swarm level autonomy of unmanned systems.展开更多

The purpose of the discussion is to understand the factors that influence SA and to help in designing the training systems to improve operators’ SA. The status function of SEs is defined and the derivative of the function represents trends of the status of SEs at each moment. Then, Fourier transform(FT) is used to give the frequency-domain function in terms of the time-domain status function. In frequency domain, the bandwidth of the status function is used as a criterion to characterize the notion of "fast" and"slow" of the change of SE’s status, which represents the dynamic characteristic of SEs.
