Based on the CPP, we utilize the averaged vector field(AVF) method in the computations of drift orbits. Demonstrating significantly higher efficiency, this advanced method is capable of accomplishing the simulation in less than one-third of the time of directly computing the guiding center motion. In contrast to the CPP-based Boris algorithm, this approach inherits the advantages of the AVF method, yielding stable trajectories even achieved with a tenfold time step and reducing the energy error by two orders of magnitude. By comparing these two CPP algorithms with the traditional RK4 method, the numerical results indicate a remarkable performance in terms of both the computational efficiency and error elimination. Moreover, we verify the properties of slow manifold integrators and successfully observe the bounce on both sides of the limiting slow manifold with deliberately chosen perturbed initial conditions. To evaluate the practical value of the methods, we conduct simulations in non-axisymmetric perturbation magnetic fields as part of the experiments,demonstrating that our CPP-based AVF method can handle simulations under complex magnetic field configurations with high accuracy, which the CPP-based Boris algorithm lacks. Through numerical experiments, we demonstrate that the CPP can replace guiding center dynamics in using energy-preserving algorithms for computations, providing a new, efficient, as well as stable approach for applying structure-preserving algorithms in plasma simulations.展开更多

We introduce a Dynamic and Integrated Resource Scheduling algorithm (DAIRS) for Cloud data centers. Unlike traditional load-balance scheduling algorithms which often consider only one factor such as the CPU load in physical servers, DAIRS treats CPU, memory and network bandwidth integrated for both physical machines and virtual machines. We develop integrated measurement for the total imbalance level of a Cloud datacenter as well as the average imbalance level of each server. Simulation results show that DAIRS has good performance with regard to total imbalance level, average imbalance level of each server, as well as overall running time.展开更多

During the plugging process, the violent vibration will occur by the flow field, which can cause serious damage to the pipeline and PIPR. In this paper, we propose a dynamic regulating strategy to reduce the plugging-induced vibration by regulating the spoiler angle and plugging velocity. Firstly, the dynamic plugging simulation and experiment are performed to study the flow field changes during dynamic plugging. And the pressure difference is proposed to evaluate the degree of flow field vibration. Secondly, the mathematical models of pressure difference with plugging states and spoiler angles are established based on the extreme learning machine (ELM) optimized by improved sparrow search algorithm (ISSA). Finally, a modified Q-learning algorithm based on simulated annealing is applied to determine the optimal strategy for the spoiler angle and plugging velocity in real time. The results show that the proposed method can reduce the plugging-induced vibration by 19.9% and 32.7% on average, compared with single-regulating methods. This study can effectively ensure the stability of the plugging process.展开更多

It is well recognized that the irregular geometry of these ice formations markedly influences their dynamic behavior. This study introduces a polyhedral Discrete Element Method (DEM) tailored for polar ice, incorporating the Gilbert-Johnson-Keerthi (GJK) and Expanding Polytope Algorithm (EPA) for contact detection. This approach facilitates the simulation of the drift and collision processes of floating ice, effectively capturing its freezing and fragmentation. Subsequently, the stability and reli ability of this model are validated by uniaxial compression on level ice fields, focusing specifically on the influence of compression strength on deformation resistance. Additionally, clusters of ice floes nav igating through narrow channels are simulated. These studies have qualitatively assessed the effects of Floe Size Distribution (FSD), initial concentration, and circularity on their flow dynamics. The higher power-law exponent values in the FSD, increased circularity, and decreased concentration are each as sociated with accelerated flow in ice floe fields. The simulation results distinctly demonstrate the con siderable impact of sea ice geometry on the movement of clusters, offering valuable insights into the complexities of polar ice dynamics.展开更多

With the development of fast computers and robust CFD software, CFD has become an important tool for designers and engineers in the ship industry. In this paper, the hull form of a ship was optimized for total resistance using CFD as a calculation tool and a genetic algorithm as an optimization tool. CFD based optimization consists of major steps involving automatic generation of geometry based on design parameters, automatic generation of mesh, automatic analysis of fluid flow to calculate the required objective/cost function, and finally an optimization tool to evaluate the cost for optimization. In this paper, integration of a genetic algorithm program, written in MATLAB, was carried out with the geometry and meshing software GAMBIT and CFD analysis software FLUENT. Different geometries of additive bulbous bow were incorporated in the original hull based on design parameters. These design variables were optimized to achieve a minimum cost function of "total resistance". Integration of a genetic algorithm with CFD tools proves to be effective for hull form ootimization.展开更多

Recently, researchers demonstrated that the interaction topology plays an i...The genetic algorithm (GA) is a nature-inspired evolutionary algorithm to find optima in search space via the interac- tion of individuals. Recently, researchers demonstrated that the interaction topology plays an important role in information exchange among individuals of evolutionary algorithm. In this paper, we investigate the effect of different network topolo- gies adopted to represent the interaction structures. It is found that GA with a high-density topology ends up more likely with an unsatisfactory solution, contrarily, a low-density topology can impede convergence. Consequently, we propose an improved GA with dynamic topology, named DT-GA, in which the topology structure varies dynamically along with the fitness evolution. Several experiments executed with 15 well-known test functions have illustrated that DT-GA outperforms other test GAs for making a balance of convergence speed and optimum quality. Our work may have implications in the combination of complex networks and computational intelligence.展开更多

Then the DAS problem is ...This paper deals with dynamic airspace sectorization (DAS) problem by an improved genetic algorithm (iGA). A graph model is first constructed that represents the airspace static structure. Then the DAS problem is formulated as a graph-partitioning problem to balance the sector workload under the premise of ensuring safety. In the iGA, multiple populations and hybrid coding are applied to determine the optimal sector number and airspace sectorization. The sector constraints are well satisfied by the improved genetic operators and protect zones. This method is validated by being applied to the airspace of North China in terms of three indexes, which are sector balancing index, coordination workload index and sector average flight time index. The improvement is obvious, as the sector balancing index is reduced by 16.5 %, the coordination workload index is reduced by 11.2 %, and the sector average flight time index is increased by 11.4 % during the peak-hour traffic.展开更多

In this paper, we propose a genetic algorithm based approach to allocate the power spectrum dynamically. The objective is to maximize the sum of individual Shannon utilities with the background interference and crosstalk consideration. Based on the analytic solution to the dynamic equation of the integrated anchor bar, the new approach which combines genetic algorithm and the toolbox of Matlab is applied to solve the problem of multi-parameters reverse deduction for integrated anchorage system in dynamic testing. Using the traits of the self-organizing, self-adapting and the fast convergence speed of the genetic algorithm, the optimum of all possible solutions to dynamic parameters is obtained by calculating the project instances. In the system-level optimization model, a new objective function was advised, integrating all the subsystem-levels' objective functions, so as to eliminate the effects of dimensions and magnitude order. The proposed CO architecture enabled multi-objectives of the system and subsystem-level to be considered at both levels during optimization. A bi-level optimization strategy was advised, using the multi-island genetic algorithm. The proposed model was demonstrated with a deck optimization problem of container ship stern. The analysis progress and results of example show that the CO strategy is not only feasible and reliable, but also well suited for use in actual optimization problems of ship design.展开更多

Obtaining its dynamic response is a challenging task and usually achieved by numerical methods. The objectives of the study are twofold. Firstly, the discrete singular convolution (DSC) is used for the first time to analyze the impact dynamics. Secondly, the efficiency of various numerical methods for dynamic analysis is explored via an example of a flexible rod hit by a rigid ball. Three numerical methods, including the conventional finite element (FE) method, the DSC algorithm, and the spectral finite element (SFE) method, and one proposed modeling strategy, the improved spectral finite element (ISFE) method, are involved. Numerical results are compared with the known analytical solutions to show their efficiency. It is demonstrated that the proposed ISFE modeling strategy with a proper length of con- ventional FE yields the most accurate contact stress among the four investigated models. It is also found that the DSC algorithm is an alternative method for collision problems.展开更多

Compared to the traditional static protocol stack, DPS operates in a dynamic and adaptive manner and is scalable to network condition changes. In addition, a protocol construction algorithm is proposed to dynamically construct of the protocol stack each network node. Simulation results show that, the processing and forwarding performance of our scheme is close to 1 Gb/s, and the performance of our algorithm is close to that of the classical algorithms with much lower complexity.展开更多

In recent years, data-driven approaches have been proposed and implemented to tackle the problem, e.g., neural networks, fuzzy and neuro...Fault diagnostics is important for safe operation of nuclear power plants(NPPs). In recent years, data-driven approaches have been proposed and implemented to tackle the problem, e.g., neural networks, fuzzy and neurofuzzy approaches, support vector machine, K-nearest neighbor classifiers and inference methodologies. Among these methods, dynamic uncertain causality graph(DUCG)has been proved effective in many practical cases. However, the causal graph construction behind the DUCG is complicate and, in many cases, results redundant on the symptoms needed to correctly classify the fault. In this paper, we propose a method to simplify causal graph construction in an automatic way. The method consists in transforming the expert knowledge-based DCUG into a fuzzy decision tree(FDT) by extracting from the DUCG a fuzzy rule base that resumes the used symptoms at the basis of the FDT. Genetic algorithm(GA) is, then, used for the optimization of the FDT, by performing a wrapper search around the FDT: the set of symptoms selected during the iterative search are taken as the best set of symptoms for the diagnosis of the faults that can occur in the system. The effectiveness of the approach is shown with respect to a DUCG model initially built to diagnose 23 faults originally using 262 symptoms of Unit-1 in the Ningde NPP of the China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation. The results show that the FDT, with GA-optimized symptoms and diagnosis strategy, can drive the construction of DUCG and lower the computational burden without loss of accuracy in diagnosis.展开更多

Novel centralized base station architectures integrating computation and communication functionalities have become important for the development of future mobile communication networks.Therefore,the development of dyn...Novel centralized base station architectures integrating computation and communication functionalities have become important for the development of future mobile communication networks.Therefore,the development of dynamic high-speed interconnections between baseband units(BBUs)and remote radio heads(RRHs)is vital in centralized base station design.Herein,dynamic high-speed switches(HSSs)connecting BBUs and RRHs were designed for a centralized base station architecture.We analyzed the characteristics of actual traffic and introduced a switch traffic model suitable for the super base station architecture.Then,we proposed a data-priority-aware(DPA)scheduling algorithm based on the traffic model.Lastly,we developed the dynamic HSS model based on the OPNET platform and the prototype based on FPGA.Our results show that the DPA achieves close to 100%throughput with lower latency and provides better run-time complexity than iOCF and HE-iSLIP,thereby demonstrating that the proposed switch system can be adopted in centralized base station architectures.展开更多
During the pipeline plugging process,both the pipeline and the pipe isolation tool(PIT)will be greatly damaged,due to the violent vibration of the flow field.In this study,it was proposed for the first time to reduce ...During the pipeline plugging process,both the pipeline and the pipe isolation tool(PIT)will be greatly damaged,due to the violent vibration of the flow field.In this study,it was proposed for the first time to reduce the vibration of the flow field during the plugging process by optimizing the surface structure of the PIT.Firstly,the central composite design(CCD)was used to obtain the optimization schemes,and the drag coefficient and pressure coefficient were proposed to evaluate the degree of flow field changes.Secondly,a series of computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulations were performed to obtain the drag coefficient and pressure coefficient during dynamic plugging.And the mathematical model of drag coefficient and pressure coefficient with the surface structure of the PIT were established respectively.Then,a modified particle swarm optimization(PSO)was applied to predict the optimal value of the surface structure of the PIT.Finally,an experimental rig was built to verify the effectiveness of the optimization.The results showed that the improved method could reduce the flow field vibration by 49.56%.This study provides a reference for the design of the PIT surface structure for flow field vibration technology.展开更多

Several experiments executed with 15 well-known test functions have illustrated that DT-GA outperforms other test GAs for making a balance of convergence speed and optimum quality. Our work may have implications in the combination of complex networks and computational intelligence.

文摘This paper deals with dynamic airspace sectorization (DAS) problem by an improved genetic algorithm (iGA). A graph model is first constructed that represents the airspace static structure. Then the DAS problem is formulated as a graph-partitioning problem to balance the sector workload under the premise of ensuring safety. In the iGA, multiple populations and hybrid coding are applied to determine the optimal sector number and airspace sectorization. The sector constraints are well satisfied by the improved genetic operators and protect zones. This method is validated by being applied to the airspace of North China in terms of three indexes, which are sector balancing index, coordination workload index and sector average flight time index. The improvement is obvious, as the sector balancing index is reduced by 16.5 %, the coordination workload index is reduced by 11.2 %, and the sector average flight time index is increased by 11.4 % during the peak-hour traffic.

It means a temporary union formed by some independent commercial processes or corporations.Here, genetic algorithms(GA) is applied to the research of nodes DA selection optimization in wireless sensor networks(WSN) target tracking(TT) problem.The detailed optimized selection method is presented in the paper and a typical simulation is conducted to verify the effectiveness of our model.
文摘With the rapid development of wireless sensor network (WSN), the demands of limited radio frequency spectrum rise sharply, thereby dealing with the frequency assignment of WSN scientifically and efficiently becomes a popular topic. To improve the frequency utilization rate in WSN, a spectrum management system for WSN combined with cloud computing technology should be considered. From the optimization point of view, the study of dynamic spectrum management can be divided into three kinds of methods, including Nash equilibrium, social utility maximization, and competitive economy equilibrium. In this paper, we propose a genetic algorithm based approach to allocate the power spectrum dynamically. The objective is to maximize the sum of individual Shannon utilities with the background interference and crosstalk consideration. Compared to the approach in [1], the experimental result shows better balance between efficiency and effectiveness of our approach.

文摘In the analysis of the system of anchoring bar and wall rock in small strain and longitudinal vibration dynamic response, the influence of the cement grouting as well as the rock layer on the anchor bar can be evaluated as the two kinds of parameters: the dynamic stiffness and the damp, which are the vital reference of the anchorage quality. Based on the analytic solution to the dynamic equation of the integrated anchor bar, the new approach which combines genetic algorithm and the toolbox of Matlab is applied to solve the problem of multi-parameters reverse deduction for integrated anchorage system in dynamic testing. Using the traits of the self-organizing, self-adapting and the fast convergence speed of the genetic algorithm, the optimum of all possible solutions to dynamic parameters is obtained by calculating the project instances. Examples show that the method presented in this paper is effective and reliable.

文摘The goal of this effort was to provide a static and dynamic collaborative optimization (CO) model for the design of ship hull structure. The CO model integrated with static, mode and dynamic analyses. In the system-level optimization model, a new objective function was advised, integrating all the subsystem-levels' objective functions, so as to eliminate the effects of dimensions and magnitude order. The proposed CO architecture enabled multi-objectives of the system and subsystem-level to be considered at both levels during optimization. A bi-level optimization strategy was advised, using the multi-island genetic algorithm. The proposed model was demonstrated with a deck optimization problem of container ship stern. The analysis progress and results of example show that the CO strategy is not only feasible and reliable, but also well suited for use in actual optimization problems of ship design.

文摘Impact dynamics of flexible solids is important in engineering practice. Obtaining its dynamic response is a challenging task and usually achieved by numerical methods. The objectives of the study are twofold. Firstly, the discrete singular convolution (DSC) is used for the first time to analyze the impact dynamics. Secondly, the efficiency of various numerical methods for dynamic analysis is explored via an example of a flexible rod hit by a rigid ball. Three numerical methods, including the conventional finite element (FE) method, the DSC algorithm, and the spectral finite element (SFE) method, and one proposed modeling strategy, the improved spectral finite element (ISFE) method, are involved. Numerical results are compared with the known analytical solutions to show their efficiency. It is demonstrated that the proposed ISFE modeling strategy with a proper length of con- ventional FE yields the most accurate contact stress among the four investigated models. It is also found that the DSC algorithm is an alternative method for collision problems.

文摘A dynamic protocol stack(DPS) for ad hoc networks, together with a protocol stack construction scheme that is modeled as a multiconstrained knapsack problem is proposed. Compared to the traditional static protocol stack, DPS operates in a dynamic and adaptive manner and is scalable to network condition changes. In addition, a protocol construction algorithm is proposed to dynamically construct of the protocol stack each network node. Simulation results show that, the processing and forwarding performance of our scheme is close to 1 Gb/s, and the performance of our algorithm is close to that of the classical algorithms with much lower complexity.
文摘Fault diagnostics is important for safe operation of nuclear power plants(NPPs). In recent years, data-driven approaches have been proposed and implemented to tackle the problem, e.g., neural networks, fuzzy and neurofuzzy approaches, support vector machine, K-nearest neighbor classifiers and inference methodologies. Among these methods, dynamic uncertain causality graph(DUCG)has been proved effective in many practical cases. However, the causal graph construction behind the DUCG is complicate and, in many cases, results redundant on the symptoms needed to correctly classify the fault. In this paper, we propose a method to simplify causal graph construction in an automatic way. The method consists in transforming the expert knowledge-based DCUG into a fuzzy decision tree(FDT) by extracting from the DUCG a fuzzy rule base that resumes the used symptoms at the basis of the FDT. Genetic algorithm(GA) is, then, used for the optimization of the FDT, by performing a wrapper search around the FDT: the set of symptoms selected during the iterative search are taken as the best set of symptoms for the diagnosis of the faults that can occur in the system. The effectiveness of the approach is shown with respect to a DUCG model initially built to diagnose 23 faults originally using 262 symptoms of Unit-1 in the Ningde NPP of the China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation. The results show that the FDT, with GA-optimized symptoms and diagnosis strategy, can drive the construction of DUCG and lower the computational burden without loss of accuracy in diagnosis.

文摘This paper analyses the dynamic residual aberrations of a conformal optical system and introduces adaptive optics (AO) correction technology to this system. The image sharpening AO system is chosen as the correction scheme.Communication between MATLAB and Code V is established via ActiveX technique in computer simulation.The SPGD algorithm is operated at seven zoom positions to calculate the optimized surface shape of the deformable mirror.After comparison of performance of the corrected system with the baseline system,AO technology is proved to be a good way of correcting the dynamic residual aberration in conformal optical design.

文摘The guidance and control for UAV aerial refueling docking based on dynamic inversion with L1 adaptive augmentation is studied.In order to improve the tracking performance of UAV aerial refueling docking,aguidance algorithm is developed to satisfy the tracking requirement of position and velocity,and it generates the UAV flight control loop commands.In flight control loop,based on the 6-DOF nonlinear model,the angular rate loop and the attitude loop are separated based on time-scale principle and the control law is designed using dynamic inversion.The throttle control is also derived from dynamic inversion method.Moreover,an L1 adaptive augmentation is developed to compensate for the undesirable effects of modeling uncertainty and disturbance.Nonlinear digital simulations are carried out.The results show that the guidance and control system has good tracking performance and robustness in achieving accurate aerial refueling docking.

文摘Novel centralized base station architectures integrating computation and communication functionalities have become important for the development of future mobile communication networks.Therefore,the development of dynamic high-speed interconnections between baseband units(BBUs)and remote radio heads(RRHs)is vital in centralized base station design.Herein,dynamic high-speed switches(HSSs)connecting BBUs and RRHs were designed for a centralized base station architecture.We analyzed the characteristics of actual traffic and introduced a switch traffic model suitable for the super base station architecture.Then,we proposed a data-priority-aware(DPA)scheduling algorithm based on the traffic model.Lastly,we developed the dynamic HSS model based on the OPNET platform and the prototype based on FPGA.Our results show that the DPA achieves close to 100%throughput with lower latency and provides better run-time complexity than iOCF and HE-iSLIP,thereby demonstrating that the proposed switch system can be adopted in centralized base station architectures.

文摘During the pipeline plugging process,both the pipeline and the pipe isolation tool(PIT)will be greatly damaged,due to the violent vibration of the flow field.In this study,it was proposed for the first time to reduce the vibration of the flow field during the plugging process by optimizing the surface structure of the PIT.Firstly,the central composite design(CCD)was used to obtain the optimization schemes,and the drag coefficient and pressure coefficient were proposed to evaluate the degree of flow field changes.Secondly,a series of computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulations were performed to obtain the drag coefficient and pressure coefficient during dynamic plugging.And the mathematical model of drag coefficient and pressure coefficient with the surface structure of the PIT were established respectively.Then,a modified particle swarm optimization(PSO)was applied to predict the optimal value of the surface structure of the PIT.Finally,an experimental rig was built to verify the effectiveness of the optimization.The results showed that the improved method could reduce the flow field vibration by 49.56%.This study provides a reference for the design of the PIT surface structure for flow field vibration technology.
