Improving the fracture strain of graphite materials by in-situ porosity introduction by two-step sintering

High-performance graphite materials have important roles in aerospace and nuclear reactor technologies because of their outstanding chemical stability and high-temperature performance.Their traditional production method relies on repeated impregnation-carbonization and graphitization,and is plagued by lengthy preparation cycles and high energy consumption.Phase transition-assisted self-pressurized selfsintering technology can rapidly produce high-strength graphite materials,but the fracture strain of the graphite materials produced is poor.To solve this problem,this study used a two-step sintering method to uniformly introduce micro-nano pores into natural graphite-based bulk graphite,achieving improved fracture strain of the samples without reducing their density and mechanical properties.Using natural graphite powder,micron-diamond,and nano-diamond as raw materials,and by precisely controlling the staged pressure release process,the degree of diamond phase transition expansion was effectively regulated.The strain-to-failure of the graphite samples reached 1.2%,a 35%increase compared to samples produced by fullpressure sintering.Meanwhile,their flexural strength exceeded 110 MPa,and their density was over 1.9 g/cm^(3).The process therefore produced both a high strength and a high fracture strain.The interface evolution and toughening mechanism during the two-step sintering process were investigated.It is believed that the micro-nano pores formed have two roles:as stress concentrators they induce yielding by shear and as multi-crack propagation paths they significantly lengthen the crack propagation path.The two-step sintering phase transition strategy introduces pores and provides a new approach for increasing the fracture strain of brittle materials. 展开更多

Three-dimensional stability of two-step slope with crack considering temperature effect on unsaturated soil

In existing studies, most slope stability analyses concentrate on conditions with constant temperature, assuming the slope is intact, and employ the Mohr-Coulomb (M-C) failure criterion for saturated soil to characterize the strength of the backfill. However, the actual working temperature of slopes varies, and natural phenomena such as rainfall and groundwater infiltration commonly result in unsaturated soil conditions, with cracks typically present in cohesive slopes. This study introduces a novel approach for assessing the stability of unsaturated soil stepped slopes under varying temperatures, incorporating the effects of open and vertical cracks. Utilizing the kinematic approach and gravity increase method, we developed a three-dimensional (3D) rotational wedge failure mechanism to simulate slope collapse, enhancing the traditional two-dimensional analyses. We integrated temperature-dependent functions and nonlinear shear strength equations to evaluate the impact of temperature on four typical unsaturated soil types. A particle swarm optimization algorithm was employed to calculate the safety factor, ensuring our method’s accuracy by comparing it with existing studies. The results indicate that considering 3D effects yields a higher safety factor, while cracks reduce slope stability. Each unsaturated soil exhibits a distinctive temperature response curve, highlighting the importance of understanding soil types in the design phase. 展开更多

In many fields of high-tech industry the ultra-t hi n wall parts are employed. In this paper the experiments were carried out to dis cuss the surface microstructure of the camera’s guided drawtube by applying ult rasonic vibration cutting device to the traditional lathe. The influence rule of the cutting condition on the surface roughness was put forward, which was drawn by comparing the ultrasonic cutting with the common cutting by use of the cemen ted carbide tool and the polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tool. The test results sh owed that the ultrasonic cutting performs better than the common cutting in the same condition. According to the test results analyzing, the surface characteriz ation is influenced clearly by the rigidity of the acoustic system and the machi ne tool, as well the setting height of the tool tip. Otherwise, the dense regula r low frequency vibration ripples will be scraped on the machined surface. When the tool tip is set higher than the rotating center of the work piece by three t imes of the amplitude of ultrasonic vibration, the vibration ripples behave alig ht; they turn light and shade alternatively when the tool tip is lower than the rotating center of the work piece by three times of the amplitude of ultrasonic vibration. According to the test result analyzing, the following conclusions are put forward: 1) The surface roughness in ultrasonic cutting is better than that in common cutting. Under a one third critical cutting velocity, the value of th e surface roughness in ultrasonic cutting rise slightly along with the cutting v elocity, while in common cutting it decreases contrast to the cutting velocity; the curves of the surface roughness in ultrasonic cutting and common cutting see m to be alike, both increase along with the feed rate and the cutting depth, but the value in ultrasonic cutting is smaller in the same condition.2) The influen ce of the coolant on the surface roughness cannot be ignored. The kerosene can b e employed to improve the surface roughness in ultrasonic machining.3) In ultras onic cutting process of aluminum alloy ultra-thin wall work piece, the PCD tool performs better than the cemented carbide tools.4) The vibration ripples result from the not enough rigidity of the acoustic system and the improper setting he ight of the tool tip. The departure of the tool tip from the rotating center of the work piece to some extent causes the vibration ripples on the machined surfa ce. 展开更多

According to the method of systems analysis, the dynamic palm theorem is introduced to establish the prediction model of the spares demand rate, and its main influence factors are analyzed, based on which, the spares support effectiveness evaluation index system is studied, and the system optimization-oriented spares dynamic configuration method for multi-echelon multi-indenture system is proposed. Through the analysis of the optimization algorithm, the layered marginal algorithm is designed to improve the model calculation efficiency. In a given example, the multi-stage spares configuration project during its life cycle is gotten, the research result conforms to the actual status, and it can provide a new way for the spares dynamic optimization. 展开更多

In equipment integrated logistics support(ILS), the supply capability of spare parts is a significant factor. There are lots of depots in the traditional support system, which makes too many redundant spare parts and causes high cost of support. Meanwhile,the inconsistency among depots makes it difficult to manage spare parts. With the development of information technology and transportation, the supply network has become more efficient. In order to further improve the efficiency of supply-support work and the availability of the equipment system, building a system of one centralized depot with multiple depots becomes an appropriate way.In this case, location selection of the depots including centralized depots and multiple depots becomes a top priority in the support system. This paper will focus on the location selection problem of centralized depots considering ILS factors. Unlike the common location selection problem, depots in ILS require a higher service level. Therefore, it becomes desperately necessary to take the high requirement of the mission into account while determining location of depots. Based on this, we raise an optimal depot location model. First, the expected transportation cost is calculated.Next, factors in ILS such as response time, availability and fill rate are analyzed for evaluating positions of open depots. Then, an optimization model of depot location is developed with the minimum expected cost of transportation as objective and ILS factors as constraints. Finally, a numerical case is studied to prove the validity of the model by using the genetic algorithm. Results show that depot location obtained by this model can guarantee the effectiveness and capability of ILS well. 展开更多

A three-dimensional finite element model was established for the milling of thin-walled parts. The physical model of the milling of the part was established using the AdvantEdge FEM software as the platform. The aluminum alloy impeller was designated as the object to be processed and the boundary conditions which met the actual machining were set. Through the solution, the physical quantities such as the three-way cutting force, the tool temperature, and the tool stress were obtained, and the calculation of the elastic deformation of the thin-walled blade of the free-form surface at the contact points between the tool and the workpiece was realized. The elastic deformation law of the thin-walled blade was then predicted. The results show that the maximum deviation between the predicted value and the actual measured machining value of the elastic deformation was 26.055 μm; the minimum deviation was 2.011 μm, with the average deviation being 10.154 μm. This shows that the prediction is in close agreement with the actual result. 展开更多

A two-step leaching method in combination of acid and ethylene diaminetetraacetic acid disodium (EDTA-Na2) was applied to extract metals such as Cd, Cu, Fe, Pb and Zn from a zinc smelting slag. The results show that the extraction rates of Cd, Cu, Fe and Zn in slag reach 88.3%, 54.1%, 69.6% and 54.7%, respectively, while the extraction rate of Pb is only 0.05% leached with 1.25 mol/L sulfuric acid under the conditions of the ratio of slag to liquid of 100 g/L, 65 ℃ and 120 r/min for 2 h. However, Pb extraction rate from 1.25 mol/L sulfuric acid leached residue reaches as high as 66.5% by using 0.1 mol/L EDTA-Na2 solution. The results indicate that two-step sequential extraction procedure combining 1.25 mol/L sulfuric acid and 0.1 mol/L EDTA-Na2 solution can extensively extract Cd, Cu, Fe, Pb and Zn from zinc smelting slag. 展开更多

This research work is carried out to study the friction and wear behavior of parts made of newly developed Nylon6-Fe composite material by FDM. This work also involves the comparison of the friction and wear characteristics of the Nylon6-Fe composite with the existing acrylonitrile butadiene styrene(ABS) filament of the FDM machine. This Is carried out on the pin on disk setup by varying the load(5, 10, 15 and 20 N) and speed(200 and 300 r/min). It is concluded that the newly developed composite is highly wear resistant and can be used in industrial applications where wear resistance is of paramount importance. Morphology of the surface in contact with the Nylon6-Fe composite and ABS is also carried out. 展开更多

By adopting the parameterized designing method of f ea ture assembled and feature unit, for the feature of non-conventional type parts , such as welding box and bearer, by use of Visual C++ and AutoCAD a s soft tools, the system can successfully carry out the basic function of featur e assembled, the processing of two-dimensional figure, the building of three-d imensional feature, the automatic producing of technical papers, and so on. The thoughts and design methods of this system can be served as the preference to CA D/CAPP integrated for othernon-conventional type parts. For non-conventional parts, its feature is too much, so the parameter is much. By adopting interactive entry for graphic parameter, under the control of main c ontrol module, through inputting the feature parameter and calling the feature g raphic unit, the function for modeling is completed. To reduce input of feature parameter, the description of position feature is adopted in the feature descrip tion of non-conventional parts, that is, fix position is constraint through str ucture and dimension of non-conventional parts. In such a manner, the assembled process has been transformed the coordinate conversion process, and this is ver y important in the production of three-dimensional graphics. In the one hand, b y calling the feature of parts in the library of feature-graphic unit, the two -dimensional DXF file and three-dimensional SCR file are automatically produce d in AutoCAD. On the other hand, by calling the rules and standard operational s equences in the technologic knowledge base, through inferring of inference engin e, the assembled sequence of non-conventional parts and welding sequences are a utomatically produced. The two aspects constitute overall design philosophy for system. So the CAD/CAPP integration of feature-assembled for non-conventio nal parts are completed. The principle of dividing feature is based on the thought of group technology, t hat is, according to the function feature of parts. The feature-assembled p arameterized design method is to divide the parts into many feature-units, acco rding to the structure, function, and secondary feature, and the each unit is in teractively produced, so the whole part is assembled gradually. At the same time , to display the sequences which deviser chooses varied features, hidden feature code is adopted. The feature-unit parameterized design method is to assemble dimension, margin tolerance and fitting-in, and surface roughness into one unit that it becomes a fixed structure. However big it is, it could be added to or taken off like a ba sic feature-unit.By adopting above-mentioned methods, the module of parts is e stablished. Under the integrated environment, according to basic construct of expert system, CAPP system is made up of three sectionsdynamic database (document-view ), knowledge library and inference engine. Dynamic database is served as storing initialized and middle information as well as ultimate design result. With the wide application of condition based maintenance(CBM) in aircraft maintenance practice, the joint optimization of maintenance and inventory management, which can take full advantage of CBM and reduce the aircraft operational cost, is receiving increasing attention. In order to optimize the inspection interval, maintenance decision and spare provisioning together for aircraft deteriorating parts, firstly, a joint inventory management strategy is presented, then, a joint optimization of maintenance inspection and spare provisioning for aircraft parts subject to the Wiener degradation process is proposed based on the strategy.Secondly, a combination of the genetic algorithm(GA) and the Monte Carol method is developed to minimize the total cost rate.Finally, a case study is conducted and the proposed joint optimization model is compared with the existing optimization model and the airline real case. The results demonstrate that the proposed model is more beneficial and effective. In addition, the sensitivity analysis of the proposed model shows that the lead time has higher influence on the optimal results than the urgent order cost and the corrective maintenance cost, which is consistent with the actual situation of aircraft maintenance practices and inventory management. 展开更多

A two-step information extraction method is presented to capture the specific index-related information more accurately.In the first step,the overall process variables are separated into two sets based on Pearson correlation coefficient.One is process variables strongly related to the specific index and the other is process variables weakly related to the specific index.Through performing principal component analysis(PCA)on the two sets,the directions of latent variables have changed.In other words,the correlation between latent variables in the set with strong correlation and the specific index may become weaker.Meanwhile,the correlation between latent variables in the set with weak correlation and the specific index may be enhanced.In the second step,the two sets are further divided into a subset strongly related to the specific index and a subset weakly related to the specific index from the perspective of latent variables using Pearson correlation coefficient,respectively.Two subsets strongly related to the specific index form a new subspace related to the specific index.Then,a hybrid monitoring strategy based on predicted specific index using partial least squares(PLS)and T2statistics-based method is proposed for specific index-related process monitoring using comprehensive information.Predicted specific index reflects real-time information for the specific index.T2statistics are used to monitor specific index-related information.Finally,the proposed method is applied to Tennessee Eastman(TE).The results indicate the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

NASICON-type structured NaTi2(PO4)3 has been regarded as a promising anode material for non-aqueous and aqueous Na-ion batteries,whereas its sodium storage performance was greatly restricted by its inherent inferior electronic conductivity.In the present work,a two-step carbon modification method using prefabricated carbon spheres as support and phenolic resin as carbon source was proposed to prepare advanced NaTi2(PO4)3/C.The as-prepared composite with carbon spheres displayed a much higher reversible capacity(126.7 mA?h/g vs 106.7 mA?h/g at 0.5C)than the control sample without carbon spheres.Superior rate capability with discharge capacities of 115.1,95.5,80.8 mAh/g at 1C,10C,20C,respectively and long-term cycling stability with capacity retention of 92.4%after 1000 cycles at 5C were also observed.Owing to the designing of two-step carbon modification,although the as-prepared sample shows much smaller surface area,it possesses much better conductive network and more uniform particle distribution,resulting in higher electronic conductivity and faster ionic conductivity,thereby superior sodium storage ability at high rate. 展开更多

Part元数据是元数据中最重要的组成成分.为了能够有效管理远程共享存储上的数据,采集了所有Part元数据文件,并将其合并后,经过键值映射、序列化和反序列化,存入分布式键值数据库中.此外,还设计了一套同步策略,以确保远程共享存储上的数据与分布式键值数据库中的元数据的一致性.利用Part元数据管理策略及相关的同步策略,实现了一个针对Part元数据的管理系统,解决了ClickHouse节点启动过慢的问题,并支持高效的节点动态扩缩容. 展开更多

In the paper, the experimental researches were carr ie d out to discuss the roundness forming rule and the influence of cutting paramet ers on roundness by ultrasonic vibration cutting of the camera’s guiding drawtu be with 47.75 mm diameter and 0.6~1.5 mm wall thickness. The research results s h ow that the roundness error of ultra-thin wall parts in ultrasonic vibration cu tting is only one third of that in common cutting. The relations between the rou ndness error and the cutting parameters behave as: (1) The roundness error in co mmon cutting decreases gradually with the rise of cutting speed, while in ultras onic cutting, the roundness changes not obviously till the cutting speed is up t o a value, which is nearly equal to one third of the critical velocity. Then the roundness of workpiece will begin to increase slowly. (2) The roundness error i ncreases along with the feed rate both in common cutting and ultrasonic cutting. (3) Within the range of cutting depth in experiment, the influence of cutting d epth on the roundness error is more obvious in common cutting than that in ultra sonic vibration cutting. The conclusions are useful in machining such precise ul tra-thin wall parts. According to the tests, the following conclusions can be o btained: 1) Compared with common cutting, ultrasonic cutting can decrease effect ively roundness error of the workpiece. Under the same condition, the roundness error of the ultra-thin wall part in ultrasonic turning is about one third of t hat in common cutting. 2) In common cutting, cutting depth and feed rate have mu ch influence on the roundness and the influence of cutting velocity is little. W hile in ultrasonic cutting, the roundness was influenced heavily only when feed rate is more than 0.1 mm/r and cutting speed is more than 1/3 of the critical ro tation speed, cutting depth has little influence on the roundness in the experim ent. 3) Kerosene-oil is an optimum cutting fluid in machining ultra-thin wall workpiece. 4) To machine the ultra-thin wall precision part, ultrasonic cutting is the perfect method which can decrease the roundness error effectively an d ensure high quality of the surface. 展开更多
