Objective To systematically analyze the current status of outcomes reporting in clinical trials on treating stasis acute mastitis with Traditional Chinese Medicine breast massage.Methods We searched CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,S...Objective To systematically analyze the current status of outcomes reporting in clinical trials on treating stasis acute mastitis with Traditional Chinese Medicine breast massage.Methods We searched CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,Sino Med,Pub Med,Web of Science,Embase,Cochrane library,JBI,CINAHL,Psyc INFO,Clinical Trials Registry Platform portal,Clinical Trials Registry,Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry,Center Watch Registry from inception to May 15,2022 to find randomized controlled trials,non-randomized controlled trials,case series and cohort studies which reported the outcomes of stasis acute mastitis managed with Traditional Chinese Medicine breast massage,with search terms of mastitis,acute mastitis,lactation mastitis,puerperal mastitis,breast problem,breast engorgement,milk stasis,blocked ducked,breast pain,breast massage,and acupoint massage.Outcomes and the measurement schemes(measurement methods,timing of assessing outcome,frequency of assessing outcome,measurers)were extracted from the included studies.We used the Management of Otitis Media with Effusion in Children with Cleft Palate(MOMENT)to assess the quality of each study,then categorized outcomes derived from the included studies into different domains according to the Outcome Measures in Rheumatology Arthritis Clinic Trials(OMERACT)Filter 2.1 framework.Results We identified 85 clinical trials,in which 54 different outcomes were reported.A total of 81.2%(69/85)of studies were assessed as medium quality with a mean score of 2.6,and 18.8%(16/85)as low quality with a mean score of 0.9.These outcomes were organized in three core areas.Lump size(89.4%,76/85)was the most frequently reported outcome,followed by breast pain(69.4%,59/85)and milk excretion(68.2%,58/85).Five methods were used to assess lump size and four methods to assess breast pain.Conclusions The outcomes reported in clinical trials regarding stasis acute mastitis treated by Traditional Chinese Medicine breast massage are heterogeneous.Developing a core outcome set to achieve consistent standards for reporting outcomes and modalities for validation of the outcomes is clearly warranted.展开更多
Background:The traditional Chinese medicine NiuBeiXiaoHe(NBXH)extract and Chinese medicine preparation JieHeWan(JHW)exhibit anti-tuberculosis(TB)effects.The anti-TB effect of NBXH was compared with that of JHW to eluc...Background:The traditional Chinese medicine NiuBeiXiaoHe(NBXH)extract and Chinese medicine preparation JieHeWan(JHW)exhibit anti-tuberculosis(TB)effects.The anti-TB effect of NBXH was compared with that of JHW to elucidate the mechanism of action of NBXH.Methods:BALB/c mice aged 6-8 weeks were randomly divided into a normal control group,TB model group,JHW treatment group,and NBXH treatment group.After 3 and 13 weeks of treatment,the therapeutic effect in each group was evaluated by comparing lung histopathology,lung and liver colony counts,the number of spots representing effector T cells secreting IFN-γin an enzyme-linked immunospot assay(ELISPOT),and the levels of Th1,Th2,and Th17 cytokines,which were measured by a cytometric bead array(CBA).Mouse RNA samples were subjected to transcriptome sequencing.Results:After 13 weeks of treatment,the mean histopathological lesion area of the NBXH group was significantly smaller than that of the TB model group(P<0.05).Compared with those in the TB model group,the lung colony counts in the JHW and NBXH groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the IL-2 and IL-4 levels in the NBXH group were significantly increased(P<0.05).NBXH partly restored significant changes in gene expression caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis(M.tuberculosis)infection.According to GO and KEGG analyses,the changes in biological process(BP),cell composition(CC)and molecular function(MF)terms and in signaling pathways caused by NBXH and JHW treatment were not completely consistent,but they were mainly related to the immune response and inflammatory response in the mouse TB model.Conclusions:NBXH had therapeutic effects similar to those of JHW in improving lung histopathology,reducing lung colony counts,and regulating the levels of cytokines.NBXH restored significant changes in gene expression and repaired cell damage caused by M.tuberculosis infection by regulating immune-related pathways,which clarified the mechanism of action of NBXH.展开更多
The past twenty years have seen the increasingly important role of ontology in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).However,the development of TCM ontology faces many challenges.Since the epistemologies dramatically diff...The past twenty years have seen the increasingly important role of ontology in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).However,the development of TCM ontology faces many challenges.Since the epistemologies dramatically differ between TCM and contemporary biomedicine,it is hard to apply the existing top-level ontology mechanically.“Data silos”are widely present in the currently available terminology standards,term sets,and ontologies.The formal representation of ontology needs to be further improved in TCM.Therefore,we propose a unified basic semantic framework of TCM based on in-depth theoretical research on the existing top・level ontology and a re-study of important concepts in TCM.Under such a framework,ontologies in TCM subdomains should be built collaboratively and be represented formally in a common format.Besides,extensive cooperation should be encouraged by establishing ontology research communities to promote ontology peer review and reuse.展开更多

BACKGROUND:Despite the fact that traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has been developed and used to treat acute and urgent illness for many thousands of years.TCM has been widely perceived in western societies that TCM ...BACKGROUND:Despite the fact that traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has been developed and used to treat acute and urgent illness for many thousands of years.TCM has been widely perceived in western societies that TCM may only be effective to treat chronic diseases.The aim of this article is to provide some scientific evidence regarding the application of TCM in emergency medicine and its future potential.METHODS:Multiple databases(PubMed,ProQuest,Academic Search Elite and Science Direct) were searched using the terms:Traditional Chinese Medicine/ Chinese Medicine,Emergency Medicine,China.In addition,three leading TCM Journals in China were searched via Oriprobe Information Services for relevant articles(published from 1990—2012).Particular attention was paid to those articles that are related to TCM treatments or combined medicine in dealing with intensive and critical care.RESULTS:TCM is a systematic traditional macro medicine.The clinical practice of TCM is guided by the TCM theoretical framework- a methodology founded thousands of years ago.As the methodologies between TCM and Biomedicine are significantly different,it provides an opportunity to combine two medicines,in order to achieve clinical efficacy.Nowadays,combined medicine has become a common clinical model particular in TCM hospitals in China.CONCLUSIONS:It is evident that TCM can provide some assistance in emergency although to combine them in practice is still its infant form and is mainly at TCM hospitals in China.The future effort could be put into TCM research,both in laboratories and clinics,with high quality designs,so that TCM could be better understood and then applied in emergency medicine.展开更多

Both of the CDs exhibited good selectivity and satisfactory separation for test mixtures and aromatic positional isomers, and volatile compounds from Ligusticurn chuanxiong Hort. Additionally, the selectivity and elution orders of major compounds were compared with a well-recognized commercial column on the basis of the results by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The present work demonstrates the good selectivity of the two new CDs and can be used as GC stationary phases for the separation of positional isomers and analytes in complex samples.展开更多

文摘Master-apprentice system is a main mode of talent cultivation for Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM). To vigorously push forward inheritance and innovation of TCM nursing, Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine carried out TCM nursing inheritance work in 2016, establishing 3 studios and 1 workstation. In this paper, we summarized constructional methods and achievements in TCM nursing inheritance studios and workstation, raised issues during working, and thought about how to work in the next stage, in hoping to lay a good foundation for carrying out in-depth work about TCM nursing inheritance.
文摘BACKGROUND:Despite the fact that traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has been developed and used to treat acute and urgent illness for many thousands of years.TCM has been widely perceived in western societies that TCM may only be effective to treat chronic diseases.The aim of this article is to provide some scientific evidence regarding the application of TCM in emergency medicine and its future potential.METHODS:Multiple databases(PubMed,ProQuest,Academic Search Elite and Science Direct) were searched using the terms:Traditional Chinese Medicine/ Chinese Medicine,Emergency Medicine,China.In addition,three leading TCM Journals in China were searched via Oriprobe Information Services for relevant articles(published from 1990—2012).Particular attention was paid to those articles that are related to TCM treatments or combined medicine in dealing with intensive and critical care.RESULTS:TCM is a systematic traditional macro medicine.The clinical practice of TCM is guided by the TCM theoretical framework- a methodology founded thousands of years ago.As the methodologies between TCM and Biomedicine are significantly different,it provides an opportunity to combine two medicines,in order to achieve clinical efficacy.Nowadays,combined medicine has become a common clinical model particular in TCM hospitals in China.CONCLUSIONS:It is evident that TCM can provide some assistance in emergency although to combine them in practice is still its infant form and is mainly at TCM hospitals in China.The future effort could be put into TCM research,both in laboratories and clinics,with high quality designs,so that TCM could be better understood and then applied in emergency medicine.
文摘Sudden deafness is one of the commonest acute symptoms in otolaryngology.In recent years,the incidence of sudden deafness is on the rise all over the world,but its etiology is still unclear,and the prognosis is greatly different.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)believes that the onset of sudden deafness is related to the liver,gallbladder,heart and triple energizer meridians.This article mainly explored the key points of common syndromes,TCM nursing methods and health guidance of sudden deafness.
文摘Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)is a complex respiratory disorder,characterized by chronic airflow limitation and an elevated inflammatory response of the airways.The people with COPD are more likely to develop comorbidities,with significant impacts on patients'quality of life,exacerbation frequency,and survival.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)exhibits good therapeutic effects on improving the clinical symptoms,lung function and quality of life in patients with COPD.Herein,this article primarily summarized the key points of common syndromes,TCM nursing methods and healthy guidance of COPD,aiming at maintaining and developing the strengths of TCM,improving its efficacy and standardizing its behavior.

However, the current teaching methods are far from satisfaction. This paper analyzes some existing problems and contradictions present in the teaching practices and suggests some measures for improvement.
文摘Atrial fibrillation(AF), the most common cardiac arrhythmia worldwide, is associated with a higher risk of mortality and morbidity, in which paroxysmal atrial fibrillation(PAF) approximately accounts for 25%-60% of AF. Anti-arrhythmic drugs(AAD) have been used to treat different indications of AF for a long time, but its use is limited due to potential proarrhythmic cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular toxicity as well as the modest impact on the maintenance of sinus rhythm. Recently, Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) exhibits an excellent effect on PAF. This article primarily investigated the key points of common syndromes, TCM nursing methods and healthy guidance of PAF, aiming at maintaining and developing the strengths of TCM, improving its efficacy and standardizing its behavior.
文摘Objective Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)prescriptions have been used to cure diseases in China for thousands of years,in which many TCM herbs have no definite common quantity.Some key TCM herbs are commonly used and thus deserve in-depth investigations based on a more acceptable classification method.This study analyzes whether TCM prescriptions follow Zipf's law and attempts to obtain the thresholds of key TCM herbs based on the application of Zipfs law;Methods A total of 84,418 TCM prescriptions were collected and standardized.We tested whether Zipf's law and Zipfs distribution fit the Chinese herb distributions.A linear fitting experiment was performed to verify the relationship between the frequency distribution and frequency of TCM herbs.Results The distribution of TCM herbs in TCM prescriptions conformed to Zipf's law.Accordingly,the thresholds were obtained for the key TCM herbs.Conclusion The distribution of TCM herbs in TCM prescriptions follows Zipfs law.
文摘New cyclodextrin derivatives (CDs), heptakis(2, 6-di- O-methyl-3- O-methoxymethyl)-β-CD ( Ⅰ ) and heptakis(2, 3, 6-tri-O-methoxymethyl)-β-CD ( Ⅱ ), were investigated for their chromatographic performance as stationary phases for capillary gas chromatography (CGC). Both of the CDs exhibited good selectivity and satisfactory separation for test mixtures and aromatic positional isomers, and volatile compounds from Ligusticurn chuanxiong Hort. Additionally, the selectivity and elution orders of major compounds were compared with a well-recognized commercial column on the basis of the results by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The present work demonstrates the good selectivity of the two new CDs and can be used as GC stationary phases for the separation of positional isomers and analytes in complex samples.
文摘Acute myeloid leukemia(AML)is a form of cancer characterized by infiltration of proliferative,clonal,and abnormally differentiated cells of the hematopoietic system into the bone marrow,blood,and other tissues.Clinically,the eligible AML patients first receive induction therapy to achieve complete remission(CR).Unfortunately,minimal residual diseases usually persist in CR,which will inevitably lead to relapse if treatment is discontinued.In traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),it is believed that the weakness of healthy qi is one of the basic pathologies of leukemia after remission,and is also the major cause for relapse.This article primarily investigated the key points of common syndromes,TCM nursing methods and healthy guidance of AML,aiming at maintaining and developing the strengths of TCM,improving its efficacy and standardizing its behavior.
文摘Facial paralysis is defined as severe or complete loss of facial muscle motor function possibly due to peripheral or central lesions.Currently,there are no effective treatment modalities for facial paralysis in western medicine.In Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),it is believed to be associated with malnutrition of facial muscles caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis due to wind-cold invasion.This article primarily investigated the key points of common syndromes,TCM nursing methods and healthy guidance of facial paralysis,aiming at maintaining and developing the strengths of TCM,improving its efficacy and standardizing its behavior.
文摘ABSTRACT:Knee osteoarthritis(KOA),a complicated peripheral joint disorder,can be caused by non-modifiable and modifiable risk factors.At present,the treatment for osteoarthritis is mainly to manage symptoms and improve quality of life.Although some patients with osteoarthritis may choose pharmacological agents for pain relief,it has been confirmed that a variety of preparations and doses of pharmacological agents were ineffective.In recent years,Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has been shown unique superiorities in the treatment of osteoarthritis,including KOA.Therefore,this article primarily investigated the key points of common syndromes,TCM nursing methods and healthy guidance of KOA,aiming at maintaining and developing the strengths of TCM,improving its efficacy and standardizing its behavior.
文摘Fever caused by exogenous pathogens,also called upper respiratory infection( URI),refers to a classification of exogenous diseases induced by invasion of six pathogenic factors into the body leading to disharmony betw een nutrient Qi and defensive Qi and imbalance of Yin and Yang. As an extremely common symptom or sign,it is frequently seen in various processes of acute and chronic diseases. In recent years,traditional Chinese medicine( TCM) has achieved a certain efficacy in the treatment of fever caused by exogenous pathogens,such as modified formulae,Chinese patent drugs,self-made formulae,acupuncture,moxibustion and so on.This article mainly explored the key points of common syndromes,TCM nursing methods and health guidance of fever caused by exogenous pathogens,in order to further develop the advantages of TCM,improve its efficacy and standardize its nursing behavior.

The standardization of translation of TCM terms is also the key to promote the theoretical research of TCM translation and the international exchange and scientific research.

Recent progress in the study of anticancer drugs originating from plants and traditional medicines in China is reviewed in this paper, with particular emphasis on taxol, daidzein, acetyl boswellic acid,curcumin and ginsenosid Rh2.
文摘Prevalence of dislipidemia is increasing rapidly in China and there has been a growing interest in Chinese herbal medicine for the treatment of hyperlipidemia both inside and outside China. In this article, lipids regulating effects of 9 herbs or their extracts and 5 herbal formulae which have been published in English-language literature are reviewed. Although evidence from animals and humans consistently supports the therapeutic activities of these Chinese herbal medicines, few multi-center large-scale clinical trials have been conducted to confirm the efficacy and evaluate their safety.
