The sam- pling period is assumed to be time-varying and bounded. As a result, the network setting is appreciated to detect the stability and transition of collective behaviors in a network with different connection types. In this paper, the synchronization performance in time-delayed excitable homogeneous random networks(EHRNs) induced by diversity in system parameters is investigated by calculating the synchronization parameter and plotting the spatiotemporal evolution pattern, and distinct impacts induced by parameter-diversity are detected by setting different time delays. It is found that diversity has no distinct effect on the synchronization performance in EHRNs with small time delay being considered. When time delay is increased greatly, the synchronization performance of EHRN degenerates remarkably as diversity is increased. Surprisingly, by setting a moderate time delay, appropriate parameter-diversity can promote the synchronization performance in EHRNs, and can induce the synchronization transition from the asynchronous state to the weak synchronization. Moreover, the bistability phenomenon, which contains the states of asynchronous state and weak synchronization,is observed. Particularly, it is confirmed that the parameter-diversity promoted synchronization performance in time-delayed EHRN is manifested in the enhancement of the synchronization performance of individual oscillation and the increase of the number of synchronization transitions from the asynchronous state to the weak synchronization. Finally, we have revealed that this kind of parameter-diversity promoted synchronization performance is a robust phenomenon.展开更多

In this article, the framework of master stability function is generalized to stochastic complex networks with time-delayed coupling. The focus is on the effects of noise, time delay, and their inner interactions on the network synchronization. It is found that when there exists time-delayed coupling in the network and noise diffuses through all state variables of nodes, appropriately increasing the noise intensity can effectively improve the network synchronizability;otherwise, noise can be either beneficial or harmful. For stochastic networks, large time delays will lead to desynchronization. These findings provide valuable references for designing optimal complex networks in practical applications.展开更多

Conventional CTS always features a centralized network topology, which means that the CTS is accompanied by a local master clock. This largely restricts the stability and reliability of the CTS. We simulate the restriction and analyze the influence of the master clock on the CTS. It is found that the time delay can induce synchronization transitions at an intermediate and proper channel noise intensity, and the synchronization transitions become strongest when the channel noise intensity is optimal. The neurons can also exhibit synchronization transitions as the channel noise intensity is varied, and this phenomenon is enhanced at around the time delays that can induce the synchronization transitions. It is also found that the synchronization transitions induced by the channel noise are dependent on the coupling strength and the network average degree, and there is an optimal coupling strength or network average degree with which the synchronization transitions become strongest. These results show that by inducing synchronization transitions, the channel noise has a big regulation effect on the synchronization of the neuronal network. These findings could find potential implications for the information transmission in neural systems.展开更多

In particular, we consider that the equations xi(t) (for i = r+ 1, r+2,... ,n) can be expressed by the former xi(t) (for i=1,2,...,r), which is not the same as the previous equation. This approach is also able to track changes in the operating parameters of chaotic networks rapidly and the speed of synchronization and parameter estimation can be adjusted. In addition, this method is quite robust against the effect of slight noise and the estimated value of a parameter fluctuates around the correct value.展开更多

In order to increase the robustness of the two coupled neural networks, the key idea is that a sliding-mode-type controller is employed. Moreover, without the estimate values of the network unknown parameters taken as an updating object, a new updating object is introduced in the constructing of controller. Using the proposed controller, without any requirements for the boundedness, monotonicity and differentiability of activation functions, and symmetry of connections, the two coupled chaotic neural networks can achieve global robust synchronization no matter what their initial states are. Finally, the numerical simulation validates the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed technique.展开更多

Among all possible machine cooperation controls, to synchronize tremendous machines in a timing-efficient brings one of the greatest challenge and serves as the foundation for any other network control policies. In this paper, we propose a linear-time synchronization protocol in large M2M networks. Specifically, a closed-form of synchronization rate is provided by developing the statistical bounds of the second smallest eigenvalue of the graph Laplacian matrix. These bounds enable the efficient control of network dynamics, facilitating the timing synchronization in networks. Through a practical study in Metropolis, simulation results confirm our theoretical analysis and provide effective selection of wireless technologies, including Zigbee, Wi-Fi, and cellular systems, with respect to the deployed density of machines. Therefore, this paper successfully demonstrates a practical timing synchronization, to make a breakthrough of network dynamic control in real-world machine systems, such as Internet of Things.展开更多

Differing from previous results, the delay interval [0, d(t)] is divided into some variable subintervals by employing a new method of weighting delays. Thus, new synchronization criteria for complex networks with time-varying delays are derived by applying this weighting-delay method and introducing some free weighting matrices. The obtained results have proved to be less conservative than previous results. The sufficient conditions of asymptotical synchronization are derived in the form of linear matrix inequality, which are easy to verify. Finally, several simulation examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed results.展开更多

Some criteria for cluster synchronization with desired H∞ performance are presented by using a local linear control scheme. Firstly, sufficient conditions are established to realize cluster synchronization of the Lurie dynamical networks without time delay. Then, the notion of the cluster synchronized region is introduced, and some conditions guaranteeing the cluster synchronized region and unbounded cluster synchro- nized region are derived. Furthermore, the cluster synchronization and cluster synchronized region in the Lurie dynamical networks with time-varying delay are considered. 文摘Efficient multi-machine cooperation and network dynamics still remain open that jeopardize great applications in largescale machine-to-machine(M2M) networks. Therefore, this paper successfully demonstrates a practical timing synchronization, to make a breakthrough of network dynamic control in real-world machine systems, such as Internet of Things.

文摘This paper deals with the issue of synchronization of delayed complex networks. Finally, several simulation examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed results.

文摘The cluster synchronization problem of complex dynamical networks with each node being a Lurie system with exter- nal disturbances and time-varying delay is investigated in this paper. Numerical examples are finally provided to verify and illustrate the theoretical results.
