The present study, based on structural, petrological and geochronological investigations in the Kinnar Kailas Granite (KKG) and surrounding HHC sequence, evidences a discordant intrusive contact of the Ordovician KKG with respect to Pre\|Alpine high grade deformed HHC sequence in the Sutlej valley.Four main phases of deformation are recorded in this HHC sequence and pre\|Ordovician sediments. The first three phases of deformation occurred under high\|grade metamorphic conditions, before the intrusion of the KKG. The geometry of the main progressive ductile deformation (D2—D3) results from SW vergent doming and migmatisation. The latest deformation is expressed by local shearing under greenschist facies conditions. This late D4 deformation corresponds to N—S oriented ductile normal faults lowering the eastern blocks. The KKG is a shallow depth intrusion, showing discordant contacts with the surrounding basement rocks and large scale magmatic stoping. The KKG crosscuts the high\|grade deformation structures (D2—D3) but is locally affected by the local late D4 extensional deformation. The granite textures reflect only slight orientation related to magmatic deformation and even at few centimetres from the intrusion contact, the granite appears undeformed in contrast to the surrounding highly foliated rocks. Furthermore, xenoliths of Kyanite\|Sillimanite bearing basement rocks are present within the KKG.展开更多

Measurements were mad e of the horizontal and vertical force components and the consumed power in order to obtain the tangential and the normal force components. The temperatures at the diamond-granite contact zone were measured using a foil thermocouple. T he measurement, together with the net sawing power, was subsequently used to est imate the energy partition to the granite by a temperature matching technique. B ased on the energy partition values, the temperatures at individual cutting poin ts were estimated using an analytical model. SEM was used to follow the topograp hies of worn diamond segments. The average force acting on each diamond grit was found to be only 4% of the diamond compressive strength measured by a static me thod. The strength disparity of diamond grits and the random protrusion of grits beyond bond matrix should be significant factors in accounting for the wear of diamond grits. The wear of diamond grits was also found to be closely related to the high temperatures generated at individual cutting points and the pop-outs of diamonds from the bond matrix might be mainly attributed to the heat conducte d to the segments.展开更多

It is understood that the main factors affecting the tool wear, the energy, and the efficiency during the machining process are related to the tribological interactions that occur at the interface between the diamond tool surface and the workpiece. Based on this consideration, we propose a new machining method to machine granite materia ls to achieve improved cost effectiveness. In the proposed method, the tribologi cal interactions are maintained to a minimum. Based on the analyses of the experimental results, the following conclusions can be drawn: The wear performance is greatly dependent on the machining parameters and their combination. Therefore, optimum machining parameters must be set up at first in order to optimize the tribological characteristics of segments and thereby sawbl ade performance. These may be realized by balancing the energy expended by frict ion and the mechanical load on diamond crystal. The geometry and structure of diamond segments are another important criterion f or the diamond saw blade. Using a seven-layer structure for multi-blades sawin g and applying segments with side slots for trimming application had greatly red uced the frictions in the sawing processes. The wetting and bonding between diamonds and matrix alloys have been considered as the prerequisite for high wear performance of the segments. Diamonds coated w ith Ti-Cr alloy by a unique technique can effectively improve its wetting c apability and provide more storage space for debris, thereby reducing friction i nteractions.展开更多

Three different types of strain curves were obtained at different stress levels. Based on creep characteristics of the granite residual soil under different stress levels, a creep model of the granite residual soil was established by rheological theory, and related parameters of the model were determined according to the experimental data at the same time. Further on, based on the established creep model, a theoretical model of dynamic stress accumulation in the granite residual soil under cyclic loading was deduced. It is found that there is a threshold of dynamic stress accumulation in this theoretical model. The dynamic stress accumulation laws of the granite residual soil are different under different cyclic loading stress. Finally, with the dynamic stress accumulation laws in the small-size samples of granite residual soil under different cycle loading studied and the experimental results comparing with the theoretical results, it verifies the validity of the theoretical model.展开更多

The wear of diamond grits was also found to be closely related to the high temperatures generated at individual cutting points and the pop-outs of diamonds from the bond matrix might be mainly attributed to the heat conducte d to the segments.

文摘A small problem about soil particle regularization and contacts but essential to geotechnical engineering was studied. The soils sourced from Guangzhou and Xiamen were sieved into five different particle scale ranges(d<0.075 mm,0.075 mm≤d<0.1 mm,0.1 mm≤d<0.2 mm,0.2 mm≤d<0.5 mm and 0.5 mm≤d<1.0 mm)to study the structures and particle contacts of granite residual soil. The X-ray micro computed tomography method was used to reconstruct the microstructure of granite residual soil. The particle was identified and regularized using principal component analysis(PCA).The particle contacts and geometrical characteristics in 3D space were analyzed and summarized using statistical analyses. The results demonstrate that the main types of contact among the particles are face-face,face-angle,face-edge,edge-edge,edge-angle and angle-angle contacts for particle sizes less than 0.2 mm.When the particle sizes are greater than 0.2 mm,the contacts are effectively summarized as face-face,face-angle,face-edge,edge-edge,edge-angle,angle-angle,sphere-sphere,sphere-face,sphere-edge and sphere-angle contacts. The differences in porosity among the original sample, reconstructed sample and regularized sample are closely related to the water-swelling and water-disintegrable characteristics of granite residual soil.

文摘Fissures play a significant role in predicting the unstable failure of rock mass engineering. For deep rock underground engineering, rock mass containing pre-existing fissures is usually located in triaxial stress state. Therefore, not only pre-existing fissure but also confining pressure affects the failure mechanical behavior of rock material. In this research, the granite specimens containing two non-coplanar open fissures were investigated by a series of conventional triaxial compression tests.First, the effect of bridge angle and confining pressure on strength and deformation characteristics of granite specimens was evaluated. Results show that the triaxial compressive strength, failure axial strain, and crack damage threshold increased nonlinearly with confining pressure.Under high confining pressures, elastic modulus was insensitive to bridge angle. Then,an X-ray micro-CT scanning technique was used to analyze the internal fracture characteristics of granite specimens with respect to various bridge angles and confining pressures.Five typical crack coalescence modes were identified, namely, indirect coalescence, shear coalescence and three types of tensile coalescence. The reconstructed 3-D CT images indicated that under uniaxial or low confining pressures, the bridge angle had a significant effect on crack evolution behavior, while under high confining pressures,shear-dominated failures occurred with the development of anti-wing cracks.
文摘In order to implement cost-effective machining of gr anite materials with diamond impregnated tools, we should realize low tool w ear, low energy consumption, and high cutting efficiency, while the accuracy of the workpiece surfaces are maintained to be satisfactory. Diamonds coated w ith Ti-Cr alloy by a unique technique can effectively improve its wetting c apability and provide more storage space for debris, thereby reducing friction i nteractions.
文摘The diamond wire-sawing process was developed to cut granite in both quarries and block processing plants. In this paper, swarf was collected from different areas along the sawing arc when sawing three granites. The particle size distribution and the morphology of the swarf were investigated systematically, along with the swarf formation mechanism in sawing.Granite swarf formation was dominated by transgranular fractures based on the morphology of sawn granite chips and the analysis of sawn chip size.A long cutting arc increased the movement among the swarf, tool, and workpiece, thereby inducing a secondary fracture in the sawn chip.

文摘In China,Beishan granite is chosen as a potential host surrounding rock of a high-level radioactive waste(HLW)repository. For this research,Beishan granite specimens were heated up to 300℃,400℃ and 500℃,respectively.And conventional triaxial compression tests were conducted after cooling down the samples. The results show that after 300℃,400℃ and 500℃ heating treatment, the diameter of samples increases by 0.066%,0.143%and 0.409%,respectively,which is a little larger than the axial length changes.Mechanical tests show that peak strength increases slightly with increasing temperature. However, the dilatancy threshold is lower than that observed for samples which have not experienced heating treatment.Peak strain and dilatancy threshold strain show a strong temperature dependence. The higher the temperature, the greater the strain.Furthermore, increasing temperature has negative influence on threshold elastic modulus E_(c) and tangent elastic modulus E_(t).Poisson ratio decreases when temperature increases from 300℃ to 500℃,but it is still larger than that observed for samples which have not experienced heating treatment. In addition,AE monitoring shows a quiet period in the initial loading stage, which proves that the micro cracks are closed during heating and contribute to the increase of peak strength.

文摘The cohesion weakening and friction strengthening(CWFS)model for rock reveals the strength components mobilization process during progressive brittle failure process of rock, which is very helpful in understanding mechanical properties of rock. However, the used incremental cyclic loading−unloading compression test for the determination of strength components is very complicated, which limits the application of CWFS model. In this paper, incremental cyclic loading−unloading compression test was firstly carried out to study the evolution of deformation and the strength properties of Beishan granite after various temperatures treated under different confining pressures. We found the axial and lateral unloading modulus are closely related to the applied stress and damage state of rock.Based on these findings,we can accurately determine the plastic strain during the entire failure process using conventional tri-axial compression test data.Furthermore,a strength component(cohesive and frictional strength)determination method was developed using conventional triaxial compression test.Using this method,we analyzed the variation of strength mobilization and deformation properties of Beishan granite after various temperatures treated. At last,a non-simultaneous strength mobilization model for thermally treated granite was obtained and verified by numerical simulation, which demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed strength determination method.

文摘The Pamir plateau may have been a westward continuation of Tibet plateau.Meanwhile, the Rushan-Pshart suture is correlative to the Bangong-Nujiang suture of Tibet, and the Central Pamir is the lateral equivalent of the Qiangtang Block. We present the first detailed LA-ICPMS zircon U-Pb chronology, major and trace element, and Lu-Hf isotope geochemistry of Taxkorgan two-mica monzogranite to illuminate the Tethys evolution in central Pamir.LA-ICPMS zircon U-Pb dating shows that two-mica monzogranite is emplaced in the Cretaceous(118 Ma).Its geochemical features are similar to S-type granite, with enrichment in LREEs and negative Ba,Sr,Zr and Ti anomalies. All the samples show negative zirconεHf(t)values ranging from 17.0 to 12.5(mean 14.5),corresponding to crustal Hf model(TDM2)ages of 1906 to 2169 Ma.It is inferred that these granitoids are derived from partial melting of peliticmetasedimentary rocks analogous to the Paleoproterozoic Bulunkuole Group, predominantly with muscovite schists component.Based on the petrological and geochemical data presented above, together with the regional geology, this work provides new insights that Bangong Nujiang Ocean closed in Early Cretaceous(120114 Ma).

文摘The creep behaviors of granite residual soil with pre-stress of 100 kPa was investigated by a series of small size creep tests. Finally, with the dynamic stress accumulation laws in the small-size samples of granite residual soil under different cycle loading studied and the experimental results comparing with the theoretical results, it verifies the validity of the theoretical model.

文摘The Ladakh batholith is exposed along the 600km long and 20 to 80km wide NW—SE trending Ladakh range north of the Indus\|Tsangpo Suture Zone. It was emplaced into an unmetamorphosed thick pile of mafic and felsic volcanics, ultramafics and sediments of Upper Cretaceous\|Eocene age (Dras Volcanics, Khardung Volcanics). The granites from the Ladakh batholith within the Leh\|Khardung La and Sakti—Chang La sections (samples collected between altitude of 3600m and 5440m above mean sea level, Fig.1) have been estimated for pressure and temperature of crystallization employing the hornblende geobarometer of Schmidt (1992) and hornblende\|plagioclase geothermometer of Blundy and Holland (1990), with the results of pressure of (250±60)MPa and temperature of (695±22)℃. Therefore, these granites were solidified at a depth of (8 6±2)km suggesting an unroofing of this thickness in this region. The importance of this geobarometric data in conjunction with age data on the cooling and unroofing history of the Trans\|Himalayan Ladakh batholith and geodynamic implications of the India—Asia collision are discussed.
文摘The Dalongshan A-type granite belongs to the Anlu (Anqing,Zongyang and Lujiang)A-type granite belt, the rocks of Dalongshan granite are mainly quartz syenite, syenite and alkaline-feldspar granite. Mineralogy, petrology and geochemistry features of this granite support the argument that Anlu A-type granites and Luzong shoshonite volcanic rocks belong to the same magma evolution series. And A-type granites do not represent ultrapotassic rocks.Compared to Luzong volcanic rocks, the A-type granites are the end of the shoshonitic magma association.
