FedCLCC:A personalized federated learning algorithm for edge cloud collaboration based on contrastive learning and conditional computing

Federated learning(FL)is a distributed machine learning paradigm for edge cloud computing.FL can facilitate data-driven decision-making in tactical scenarios,effectively addressing both data volume and infrastructure challenges in edge environments.However,the diversity of clients in edge cloud computing presents significant challenges for FL.Personalized federated learning(pFL)received considerable attention in recent years.One example of pFL involves exploiting the global and local information in the local model.Current pFL algorithms experience limitations such as slow convergence speed,catastrophic forgetting,and poor performance in complex tasks,which still have significant shortcomings compared to the centralized learning.To achieve high pFL performance,we propose FedCLCC:Federated Contrastive Learning and Conditional Computing.The core of FedCLCC is the use of contrastive learning and conditional computing.Contrastive learning determines the feature representation similarity to adjust the local model.Conditional computing separates the global and local information and feeds it to their corresponding heads for global and local handling.Our comprehensive experiments demonstrate that FedCLCC outperforms other state-of-the-art FL algorithms. 展开更多

The attention mechanism can extract salient features in images,which has been proved to be effective in improving the performance of person re-identification(Re-ID).However,most of the existing attention modules have the following two shortcomings:On the one hand,they mostly use global average pooling to generate context descriptors,without highlighting the guiding role of salient information on descriptor generation,resulting in insufficient ability of the final generated attention mask representation;On the other hand,the design of most attention modules is complicated,which greatly increases the computational cost of the model.To solve these problems,this paper proposes an attention module called self-supervised recalibration(SR)block,which introduces both global and local information through adaptive weighted fusion to generate a more refined attention mask.In particular,a special"Squeeze-Excitation"(SE)unit is designed in the SR block to further process the generated intermediate masks,both for nonlinearizations of the features and for constraint of the resulting computation by controlling the number of channels.Furthermore,we combine the most commonly used Res Net-50 to construct the instantiation model of the SR block,and verify its effectiveness on multiple Re-ID datasets,especially the mean Average Precision(m AP)on the Occluded-Duke dataset exceeds the state-of-the-art(SOTA)algorithm by 4.49%. 展开更多

Personal conditioning system(PCS)is receiving considerable attention due to its energy-saving potential and the ability to satisfy individual comfort requirements.As a part of PCS,personal heating systems can maintain human thermal comfort in cold environments,which leads to their potential role of important heating mode in cold winter,especially in the Hot Summer and Cold Winter regions of China.In order to better promote the development and application of personal heating systems,this paper reviews the published studies.Personal heating systems can be divided into four types based on the mode of heat transfer:conductive,convective,radiative and combinative type.Characteristics of each category and respective devices are introduced.Furthermore,identifying the effects of personal heating on thermal comfort and the models for predicting or evaluating thermal comfort during local heating.This paper would provide users with a guideline for choosing suitable heating equipment during winter. 展开更多

Although real-world experiences show that preparing one image per person is more convenient, most of the appearance-based face recognition methods degrade or fail to work if there is only a single sample per person(SSPP). In this work, we introduce a novel supervised learning method called supervised locality preserving multimanifold(SLPMM) for face recognition with SSPP. In SLPMM, two graphs: within-manifold graph and between-manifold graph are made to represent the information inside every manifold and the information among different manifolds, respectively. SLPMM simultaneously maximizes the between-manifold scatter and minimizes the within-manifold scatter which leads to discriminant space by adopting locality preserving projection(LPP) concept. Experimental results on two widely used face databases FERET and AR face database are presented to prove the efficacy of the proposed approach. 展开更多

With the development of ordnance technology,the survival and safety of individual combatants in hightech warfare are under serious threat,and the Personal Protective Equipment(PPE),as an important guarantee to reduce casualties and maintain military combat effectiveness,is widely developed.This paper systematically reviewed various PPE based on individual combat through literature research and comprehensive discussion,and introduced in detail the latest application progress of PPE in terms of material and technology from three aspects:individual integrated protection system,traditional protection equipment,and intelligent protection equipment,respectively,and discussed in depth the functional improvement and optimization status brought by advanced technology for PPE,focusing on the achievements of individual equipment technology application.Finally,the problems and technical bottlenecks in the development of PPE were analyzed and summarized,and the development trend of PPE were pointed out.The results of the review will provide a forward-looking reference for the current development of individual PPE,and are important guidance for the design and technological innovation of advanced equipment based on the future technological battlefield. 展开更多

Destination prediction has attracted widespread attention because it can help vehicle-aid systems recommend related services in advance to improve user driving experience.However,the relevant research is mainly based on driving trajectory of vehicles to predict the destinations,which is challenging to achieve the early destination prediction.To this end,we propose a model of early destination prediction,DP-BPR,to predict the destinations by users’travel time and locations.There are three challenges to accomplish the model:1)the extremely sparse historical data make it challenge to predict destinations directly from raw historical data;2)the destinations are related to not only departure points but also departure time so that both of them should be taken into consideration in prediction;3)how to learn destination preferences from historical data.To deal with these challenges,we map sparse high-dimensional data to a dense low-dimensional space through embedding learning using deep neural networks.We learn the embeddings not only for users but also for locations and time under the supervision of historical data,and then use Bayesian personalized ranking(BPR)to learn to rank destinations.Experimental results on the Zebra dataset show the effectiveness of DP-BPR. 展开更多

目的:探讨基于第一/第二刺激信号原理联合IL-15的的T淋巴细胞扩增技术(PersonGenTM)和细胞因子诱导的杀伤(cytokine-induced killer,CIK)细胞培养扩增方案对T细胞扩增和活化的效果。方法:分离8名健康人外周血单个核细胞(peripheral bloo... 目的:探讨基于第一/第二刺激信号原理联合IL-15的的T淋巴细胞扩增技术(PersonGenTM)和细胞因子诱导的杀伤(cytokine-induced killer,CIK)细胞培养扩增方案对T细胞扩增和活化的效果。方法:分离8名健康人外周血单个核细胞(peripheral blood mononuclear cell,PBMC),分别采用CIK细胞扩增技术(CIK组)、PersonGenTM扩增技术(PersonGenTM组)及两种技术的联合应用(C+P组)刺激PBMC增殖,应用细胞计数法和流式细胞术比较T细胞的扩增效率及T细胞亚群比例,并以人白血病K562细胞及骨髓瘤RPMI 8226细胞为靶细胞检测扩增后T细胞的杀伤活性。结果:经过3周培养后,CIK、PersonGenTM和C+P 3组T细胞扩增倍数分别为(254±56)、(863±218)和(793.3±395)倍。其中CD3+细胞所占比例分别为(51.61±14.95)%、(99.21±0.79)%和(96.14±5.16)%;CD3+CD4+在CIK组细胞扩增了近5倍,C+P组与PersonGenTM组均扩增近160倍;CD3+CD8+细胞在CIK组扩增了近500倍,C+P组和PersonGenTM组扩增达千倍;CD3+CD56+NKT细胞在CIK组扩增700多倍,其他两组达千倍。杀伤实验结果显示,当E∶T为5∶1时,3组细胞对K562杀伤率为(45.53±19.16)%、(36.53±10.6)%和(53.17±5.83)%,对RPMI 8226杀伤率为(41.23±12.5)%、(38.83±4.3)%和(45.73±7.48)%。结论:Person Gen TM扩增技术获得的T细胞数量多、纯度高,其中CD3+CD8+和CD3+CD56+NKT细胞比例较高,其对K562和RPMI 8226肿瘤细胞的杀伤效果相似于CIK细胞扩增方案获得的T细胞。 展开更多

Person re-identification(re-id)involves matching a person across nonoverlapping views,with different poses,illuminations and conditions.Visual attributes are understandable semantic information to help improve the issues including illumination changes,viewpoint variations and occlusions.This paper proposes an end-to-end framework of deep learning for attribute-based person re-id.In the feature representation stage of framework,the improved convolutional neural network(CNN)model is designed to leverage the information contained in automatically detected attributes and learned low-dimensional CNN features.Moreover,an attribute classifier is trained on separate data and includes its responses into the training process of our person re-id model.The coupled clusters loss function is used in the training stage of the framework,which enhances the discriminability of both types of features.The combined features are mapped into the Euclidean space.The L2 distance can be used to calculate the distance between any two pedestrians to determine whether they are the same.Extensive experiments validate the superiority and advantages of our proposed framework over state-of-the-art competitors on contemporary challenging person re-id datasets. 展开更多

Based on the assumption that similar persons have similar facial expression appearance and shape, the person-similarity weighted expression feature is proposed to estimate the expression feature of test persons. As a result, the estimated expression feature can reduce the influence of individuals caused by insufficient training data, and hence become less person-dependent. The proposed method is tested on Cohn-Kanade facial expression database and Japanese female facial expression (JAFFE) database. Person re-identification is a prevalent technology deployed on intelligent surveillance.There have been remarkable achievements in person re-identification methods based on the assumption that all person images have a sufficiently high resolution,yet such models are not applicable to the open world.In real world,the changing distance between pedestrians and the camera renders the resolution of pedestrians captured by the camera inconsistent.When low-resolution(LR)images in the query set are matched with high-resolution(HR)images in the gallery set,it degrades the performance of the pedestrian matching task due to the absent pedestrian critical information in LR images.To address the above issues,we present a dualstream coupling network with wavelet transform(DSCWT)for the cross-resolution person re-identification task.Firstly,we use the multi-resolution analysis principle of wavelet transform to separately process the low-frequency and high-frequency regions of LR images,which is applied to restore the lost detail information of LR images.Then,we devise a residual knowledge constrained loss function that transfers knowledge between the two streams of LR images and HR images for accessing pedestrian invariant features at various resolutions.Extensive qualitative and quantitative experiments across four benchmark datasets verify the superiority of the proposed approach. 展开更多
