In the modal analysis and control of nonlinear dynamical systems,participation factors(PFs)of state variables with respect to a critical or selected mode serve as a pivotal tool for simplifying stability studies by fo...In the modal analysis and control of nonlinear dynamical systems,participation factors(PFs)of state variables with respect to a critical or selected mode serve as a pivotal tool for simplifying stability studies by focusing on a subset of highly influential state variables.For linear systems,PFs are uniquely determined by the mode’s composition and shape,which are defined by the system’s left and right eigenvectors,respectively.However,the uniqueness of other types of PFs has not been thoroughly addressed in literatures.This paper establishes sufficient conditions for the uniqueness of nonlinear PFs and five other PF variants,taking into account uncertain scaling factors in a mode’s shape and composition.These scaling factors arise from variations in the choice of physical units,which depend on the value ranges of real-world state variables.Understanding these sufficient conditions is essential for the correct application of PFs in practical stability analysis and control design.展开更多

Probit model was applied to identify the significant factors which influenced...This study was conducted to analyze the factors that negatively influence Pakistani farmers＇ willingness to participate in crop insurance. Probit model was applied to identify the significant factors which influenced our dependent variable ＂not willing to participate＂. The results of the analyses showed that crop insurance premium was the most influencing factor which had positive and significant impact on dependent variable. Similarly dissatisfaction with crop loan insurance scheme, lacking of knowledge about crop insurance, believing of being against Islamic rules and time taking process was also found to be positive and significantly influenced the dependent variable. While limited decision power and limited perils were not found to be significant in the results.展开更多

It has been commonly recognized that the cooperative finance organizations in China's rural areas have been playing an important role in spreading farm production risks, increasing farmers' income, as well as ...It has been commonly recognized that the cooperative finance organizations in China's rural areas have been playing an important role in spreading farm production risks, increasing farmers' income, as well as stimulating the overall rural economic growth. This paper attempted to identify the key factors which potentially contributed to the farmers' willingness to participate in the new-form of the rural cooperative finance organizations sponsored by the Chinese governments. In the process, a total of 442 farmer households as well as small-micro farming enterprises were sampled from the villages in Panjin municipality of Liaoning Province in China, where the new form of the rural cooperative finance organization(NFRCFO) experiment was under way. Those potential factors were classified into the four categories, including the characteristics of the famer households, the reputation of the rural finance cooperatives, transaction costs paid, as well as service quality. A discrete Logit model was used for parameter estimations. The results showed that most of the factors being considered exhibited statistically significant effects on the farmers' willingness to take part in NFRCFO, but with each presenting different levels of impacts. The causes and effects for those uncovered empirical results were fully discussed following by policy implication discussion.展开更多
