The friction and wear properties of the disc-to-column were studied under four separate normal values of 5, 10, 20 and 30 N. The increasing hardness value of the nanocomposite may be attributed to the large amount of TiC(i.e., 1.3 wt.% and 1.7 wt.%) introduced to the composites. The friction coefficient of the nanocomposite decreased with the increase of TiC nanoparticles(0-1.7 wt.%) under the same load. But the wear resistance of the TiC/AA2219 nanocomposite increased by 30%-90% as compared to the 2219 matrix alloy. And it decreased with the increasing load. The composite with 0.9 wt.% TiC produced the best results in terms of friction and wear because of its relatively higher hardness and perfect ability to retain a transfer layer of a comparatively larger thickness. On the wear surface, some Al2O3particles were found which aided in the development of protective shear regions and improved the wear resistance. The wear mechanism for the TiC/AA2219 nanocomposite was a combination of adhesive and oxidative wear, with the composites containing hard TiC nanoparticles being mainly abrasive.展开更多

Significantly, the efficiency of the photocatalysis depends markedly on the structure of the [RuPVP-AuNP:POM] even when photonic properties are very similar. Strikingly, despite their similar photonic properties, an additional optical transition is observed in UV-vis and the Raman spectra of pre-assembled drop cast [RuPVP-AuNP:POM], which was not seen in dip coated [RuPVP-AuNP:POM]. Importantly, this electronic communication enhances the photocatalytic oxidation of benzaldehyde by a factor of more than four. While there is clear evidence for photosensitisation in the drop cast not present for the dip coated systems, the magnitude of the photocurrent, i.e.,(82.2 6.6) nA·cm 2for pre-assembled drop cast [RuPVP-AuNP:POM] at a ruthenium to Au nanoparticle mole ratio of 48:1, is twice as large as that those found in [Ru-PVP:POM] film.展开更多

Fe3O4 nanoparticles were coated with human serum albumin(HSA) for magnetic resonance imaging as contrast agent. Characteristics of magnetic particles coated or uncoated were carried out using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. Zeta potentials, package effects and distributions of colloid particles were measured to confirm the attachment of HSA on magnetic particles. Effects of Fe3O4 nanoparticles coated with HSA on magnetic resonance imaging were investigated with rats. The experimental results show that the adsorption of HSA on magnetic particles is very favorable to dispersing of magnetic Fe3O4 particles, while the sizes of Fe3O4 particles coated are related to the molar ratio of Fe3O4 to HSA. The diameters of the majority of particles coated are less than 100 nm. Fe3O4 nanoparticle coated with HSA has a good biocompatibility and low toxicity. This new contrast agent has some effects on the nuclear magnetic resonance imaging of liver and the lowest dosage is 20μmol/kg for the demands of diagnosis.展开更多

In order to satisfy various applications, well-crystallized pure HA nanoparticles were synthesized at moderate temperatures by hydrotherrnal synthesis, and HA nanoparticles with different lengths were obtained by adding organic additives. X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry were used to characterize these nanoparticles, and the morphologies of the HA particles were observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results demonstrate that shorter rod-like HA particles can be prepared by adding cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), as the additive of CTAB can block the HA crystal growth along with c-axis. And whisker HA particles are obtained by adding ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA), since EDTA may have effect on the dissolution-repreeipitation process of HA.展开更多

Scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) were employed to characterize the morphology and composition of the films fabricated in the electrolytes with and without addition of Si C nanoparticles. Results show that Si C particles can be successfully incorporated into the oxide film during the anodizing process and preferentially concentrate within internal cavities and micro-cracks. The ball-on-disk sliding tests indicate that Si C-containing oxide films register much lower wear rate than the oxide films without Si C under dry sliding condition. Si C particles are likely to melt and then are oxidized by frictional heat during sliding tests. Potentiodynamic polarization behavior reveals that the anodized alloy with Si C nanoparticles results in a reduction in passive current density to about 1.54×10-8 A/cm2, which is more than two times lower than that of the Ti O2 film(3.73×10-8 A/cm2). The synthesized composite film has good anti-wear and anti-corrosion properties and the growth mechanism of nanocomposite film is also discussed.展开更多

Single particle-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(SP-ICP-MS) was investigated to detect the size of gold nanoparticles(Au NPs) in this work. Discrimination of particle signal and iterative algorithm were used to calculate the baseline of particle signal. Influence of dwell time was discussed and 3 ms was selected as dwell time for size detection. Different Au NPs standards(30, 60, 80 and 100 nm) and mixed samples(60 and 100 nm) were determined by SP-ICP-MS and the accuracy was confirmed with reference values. The particle size detection limit was 19 nm in ultrapure water(UP water) and 31 nm in 0.1 μg/L Au^(3+) solution. Stability of Au NPs in ultrapure water and natural water samples was investigated by detecting size variation of AuN Ps. The result shows that Au NPs are stable in aqueous environment for 6 d but degraded after 30 d.展开更多

文摘Thin layers of an electrostatically associated adduct RuPVP-AuNP:POM formed between the polyoxomolybdate, [S2 Mo18 O62 ]4, the polycationic metallopolymer [Ru(bpy)2(PVP)10 ](ClO4)2 and DMAP-protected gold nanoparticle have been deposited onto electrodes using two separate methods, alternate immersion layer-by-layer assembly and pre-assembled drop-casting; PVP is poly(4-vinylpyridine), BPY is 2,2'-bipyridyl, and DMAP is 4-dimethylaminopyridine. While there is clear evidence for photosensitisation in the drop cast not present for the dip coated systems, the magnitude of the photocurrent, i.e.,(82.2 6.6) nA·cm 2for pre-assembled drop cast [RuPVP-AuNP:POM] at a ruthenium to Au nanoparticle mole ratio of 48:1, is twice as large as that those found in [Ru-PVP:POM] film.
文摘Magnetic nanoparticles (Fe304) were prepared by chemical precipitation method using Fe^2+ and Fe^3+ salts with sodium hydroxide in the nitrogen atmosphere. This new contrast agent has some effects on the nuclear magnetic resonance imaging of liver and the lowest dosage is 20μmol/kg for the demands of diagnosis.

文摘Folic acid conjugated chitosan was prepared by cross-linking reaction with 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide hydrochloride(EDC), and then used as a template to prepare folic acid-chitosan(FA-CS) conjugated nanoparticles and load mitoxantrone nanoparticles(FA-CSNP/MTX). Drug dissolution testing, CCK-8 method, and confocal microscopy were used to detect their controlled-release capability in different situations and the specific uptake by HONE1 cells. The experimental results show that the nanoparticles have uniform size distribution of 48-58 nm. The highest encapsulation rate of the particles on mitoxantrone hydrochloride(MTX) is(77.5±1.9)%, and the drug loading efficiency is(18.4±0.4)%. The sustained release effect, cell growth inhibition activity and targeting effect of the FA-CS/MTX nanoparticles are good in artificial gastric fluid and intestinal fluid. It is demonstrated that the FA-CSNP system is a potentially useful system for the targeted delivery of anticancer drug MTX.

文摘Efficient modelling approaches capable of predicting the behavior and effects of nanoparticles in cement-based materials are required for conducting relevant experiments. From the microstructural characterization of a cement-nanoparticle system, this paper investigates the potential of cell-based weighted random-walk method to establish statistically significant relationships between chemical bonding and diffusion processes of nanoparticles within cement matrix.LaSr_(0.5)C_(0.5)O_(3)(LSCO)nanoparticles were employed to develop a discrete event system that accounts for the behavior of individual cells where nanoparticles and cement components were expected to interact. The stochastic model is based on annihilation(loss)and creation(gain)of a bond in the cell. The model considers both chemical reactions and transport mechanism of nanoparticles from cementitious cells, along with cement hydration process. This approach may be useful for simulating nanoparticle transport in complex 2D cement-based materials systems.

文摘Properties of hydroxyapatite (HA, Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2), including bioactivity, biocompatibility, solubility and adsorption could be tailored over wide ranges by the control of particle composition, particle size and morphology. And whisker HA particles are obtained by adding ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA), since EDTA may have effect on the dissolution-repreeipitation process of HA.

文摘Anodized composite films containing Si C nanoparticles were synthesized on Ti6Al4 V alloy by anodic oxidation procedure in C4O6H4Na2 electrolyte. The synthesized composite film has good anti-wear and anti-corrosion properties and the growth mechanism of nanocomposite film is also discussed.

文摘A novel technique of immobilizing indicator dyes by electrostatic adsorption and covalent bonding to fabricate optical sensors was developed.3-Amino-9-ethylcarbazole(AEC)was attached to the outmost surface of quartz glass slide via aminosilanizing the slide, crosslinking chitosan, adsorbing Au nanoparticle,self-assembling HS(CH2)11OH,and coupling AEC.Thus, an AEC-immobilized optical sensor was obtained. The sensor exhibits a wide linear response range from 7.0×10- 7to 1.0×10 -4 mol/L and a correlation coefficient of 0.995 9 for the detection of 2-nitrophenol.The detection limit and response time of the sensor are 1.0×10- 7mol/L and less than 10 s,respectively. The fluorescence intensity of the used sensor can be restored to the blank value by simply rinsing with blank buffer.A very effective matrix for immobilizing indicator dye is provided by the proposed technique, which is adaptable to other indicator dyes with amino groups besides AEC.

文摘A reliable method for detecting nanoparticles is necessary for the wide application of nanomaterials. The result shows that Au NPs are stable in aqueous environment for 6 d but degraded after 30 d.
文摘Mesoporous molecular sieve with Al-promoted sulfated rirconia (SZA) based strong solid acid nano-particles within its mesoporous channels was synthesized by using a one-step incipient wetness impregnation method with zirconium sulfate and aluminum sulfate as the precursors. The assemblies of SZA/MCM-41 were obtained by thermal decomposition of the precursors in air.The resultant composite was characterized with various techniques such as nitrogen physisorption, X-ray diffraction, SEM and TEM. It was shown that the well-ordered channels of MCM-41 arranged in hexagonal arrays as well as the hollow tubular morphology was retained. The strong solid acid nanoparticles were isolated born each other and highly, dispersed in the channels. Nitrogen sorption showed the expected decrease in pore volume. The catalytic activity of SZA/MCM-41 composite in the isomerization of n-butane was dramatically improved in comparison to bulk SZA or SZA/silica.

文摘Rational design and synthesis of non-precious-metal catalyst plays an important role in improving the activity and stability for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)but remains a major challenge. In this work,we used a facile approach to synthesize iron nanoparticles encapsulated in nitrogen-doped porous carbon materials(Fe@N-C)from functionalized metal-organic frameworks(MOFs,MET-6).Embedding Fe nanoparticles into the carbon skeleton increases the graphitization degree and the proportion of graphitic N as well as promotes the formation of mesopores in the catalyst. The Fe@N-C-30 catalyst showed the excellent ORR activity in alkaline solutions(E^(0)=0.97 V vs.RHE,E1/2=0.89 V vs.RHE).Moreover,the Fe@N-C-30 catalyst exhibited better methanol resistance and long-term stability when compared to commercial Pt/C.The superior ORR performance could be attributed to the combination of high electrochemical surface area, relative high portion of graphitic-N,unique porous structures and the synergistic effect between the encapsulated Fe particles and the N-doped carbon layer. This work provides a promising method to construct efficient non-precious-metal ORR catalyst through MOFs.
