In this paper,a novel launch dynamics measurement system based on the photoelectric sensor pair is built.The actual muzzle time(i.e.a time duration that originates from the initial movement to the rocket’s departure from the muzzle)and the muzzle velocity are measured.Compared with the classical methods,the actual muzzle time is obtained by eliminating the ignition delay.The comparative analysis method is proposed with numerical simulations established by the transfer matrix method for multibody systems.The experiment results indicate that the proposed measurement system can effectively measure the actual muzzle time and reduce the error of classical methods,which match well with the simulation results showing the launch dynamics model is reliable and helpful for further analysis and design of the MLRS. 展开更多

A measurement system was designed to measure the railgun's parameters in launching process,which includes Rogowski coil sensor for measuring rail's current,B-dot probe for obversing projectile's velocity in bore,net target for catching muzzle velocity,signal condition circuit and high-speed data acquisition card for analyzing and storing data.Its software was also developed in WINDOWS operational environment via modularized design.The designed sensors and test software were successfully used in a practical electromagnetic railgun system to monitor the process of launching.The test results indicate that the state of launching can be intuitively observed and the parameters are accurately acquired and recorded.The software design method can shorten the development cycle,enhance the system's flexibility and provide the interface for the secondary development.The system shows great reliability.It is an effective and practical measurement platform for further research on the electromagnetic launch system. 展开更多

The concept of emissivity has been with the scientific and engineering world since Planck formulated his blackbody radiation law more than a century ago.Nevertheless,emissivity is an elusive concept even for ex⁃perts.It is a vague and fuzzy concept for the wider community of engineers.The importance of remote sensing of temperature by measuring IR radiation has been recognized in a wide range of industrial,medical,and environ⁃mental uses.One of the major sources of errors in IR radiometry is the emissivity of the surface being measured.In real experiments,emissivity may be influenced by many factors:surface texture,spectral properties,oxida⁃tion,and aging of surfaces.While commercial blackbodies are prevalent,the much-needed grey bodies with a known emissivity,are unavailable.This study describes how to achieve a calibrated and stable emissivity with a blackbody,a perforated screen,and a reliable and linear novel IR thermal sensor,18 dubbed TMOS.The Digital TMOS is now a low-cost commercial product,it requires low power,and it has a small form factor.The method⁃ology is based on two-color measurements,with two different optical filters,with selected wavelengths conform⁃ing to the grey body definition of the use case under study.With a photochemically etched perforated screen,the effective emissivity of the screen is simply the hole density area of the surface area that emits according to the blackbody temperature radiation.The concept is illustrated with ray tracing simulations,which demonstrate the approach.Measured results are reported. 展开更多

On-machine measurement(OMM)stands out as a pivotal technology in complex curved surface adaptive machining.However,the complex structure inherent in workpieces poses a significant challenge as the stylus orientation frequently shifts during the measurement process.Consequently,a substantial amount of time is allocated to calibrating pre-travel error and probe movement.Furthermore,the frequent movement of machine tools also increases the influence of machine errors.To enhance both accuracy and efficiency,an optimization strategy for the OMM process is proposed.Based on the kinematic chain of the machine tools,the relationship between the angle combination of rotary axes,the stylus orientation,and the calibration position of pre-travel error is disclosed.Additionally,an OMM efficiency optimization model for complex curved surfaces is developed.This model is solved to produce the optimal efficiency angle combinations for each to-be-measured point.Within each angle combination,the effects of positioning errors on measurement results are addressed by coordinate system offset and measurement result compensation method.Finally,the experiments on an impeller are used to demonstrate the practical utility of the proposed method. 展开更多

This paper addresses a problem of observer-based sensor fault reconstruction for continuous-time systems subject to sensor faults and measurement disturbances via a descriptor system approach. An augmented descriptor plant is first formulated, by assembling measurement disturbances and sensor faults into an auxiliary state vector. Then a novel descriptor state observer for the augmented plant is constructed such that simultaneous reconstruction of original system states, sensor faults and measurement disturbances are obtained readily. Sufficient conditions for the existence of the proposed observer are explicitly provided, and the application scope of the observer is further discussed. In addition, an extension of the proposed linear approach to a class of nonlinear systems with Lipschitz constraints is investigated. Finally, two numerical examples are simulated to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed fault-reconstructing approaches. 展开更多

Bubble size measurement in three-phase system using photograph technology 被引量:1

A special experiment setup was designed to observe the interaction between bubbles and particle in flotation cell and to analyze the bubble characteristics such as bubble size, distribution and bubble-loading efficiency. Bubbles in water-gas system and three-phase system were measured. The results indicate that with the current setup the bubbles as small as 10 μm can be easily distinguished. The average size of the bubbles generated under the given conditions in two-phase system is 410 μm at frother concentration of 0.004%, which is in good correspondence with the results of other works. The effect of frother on bubble size was probed. Increasing frother concentration from 0 to 0.004% causes a reduction of bubble size from 700 to 400 μm. The bubble loading efficiency was reported. The result indicates that the fine particle is more easily entrapped than the coarse particle. Some factors, which have effect on measurement accuracy were discussed. The aeration speed has a significant effect on the accuracy of results, if it surpasses 30 mL/s, and the image becomes unclear due to the entrapment of fine particle. Another factor, which can affect observing results, is the sampling position. At a wrong sampling position, the images become unclear. 展开更多

In this paper,to study the mechanical responses of a solid propellant subjected to ultrahigh acceleration overload during the gun-launch process,specifically designed projectile flight tests with an onboard measurement system were performed.Two projectiles containing dummy HTPB propellant grains were successfully recovered after the flight tests with an ultrahigh acceleration overload value of 8100 g.The onboard-measured time-resolved axial displacement,contact stress and overload values were successfully obtained and analysed.Uniaxial compression tests of the dummy HTPB propellant used in the gunlaunched tests were carried out at low and intermediate strain rates to characterize the propellant's dynamic properties.A linear viscoelastic constitutive model was employed and applied in finite-element simulations of the projectile-launching process.During the launch process,the dummy propellant grain exhibited large deformation due to the high acceleration overload,possibly leading to friction between the motor case and propellant grain.The calculated contact stress showed good agreement with the experimental results,though discrepancies in the overall displacement of the dummy propellant grain were observed.The dynamic mechanical response process of the dummy propellant grain was analysed in detail.The results can be used to estimate the structural integrity of the analysed dummy propellant grain during the gun-launch process. 展开更多

Influence of sampling on three-dimensional surface shape measurement

In order to accurately measure an object’s three-dimensional surface shape,the influence of sampling on it was studied.First,on the basis of deriving spectra expressions through the Fourier transform,the generation of CCD pixels was analyzed,and its expression was given.Then,based on the discrete expression of deformation fringes obtained after sampling,its Fourier spectrum expression was derived,resulting in an infinitely repeated"spectra island"in the frequency domain.Finally,on the basis of using a low-pass filter to remove high-order harmonic components and retaining only one fundamental frequency component,the inverse Fourier transform was used to reconstruct the signal strength.A method of reducing the sampling interval,i.e.,reducing the number of sampling points per fringe,was proposed to increase the ratio between the sampling frequency and the fundamental frequency of the grating.This was done to reconstruct the object’s surface shape more accurately under the condition of m>4.The basic principle was verified through simulation and experiment.In the simulation,the sampling intervals were 8 pixels,4 pixels,2 pixels,and 1 pixel,the maximum absolute error values obtained in the last three situations were 88.80%,38.38%,and 31.50%in the first situation,respectively,and the corresponding average absolute error values are 71.84%,43.27%,and 32.26%.It is demonstrated that the smaller the sampling interval,the better the recovery effect.Taking the same four sampling intervals in the experiment as in the simulation can also lead to the same conclusions.The simulated and experimental results show that reducing the sampling interval can improve the accuracy of object surface shape measurement and achieve better reconstruction results. 展开更多

In this paper,a bandwidth-adjustable extended state observer(ABESO)is proposed for the systems with measurement noise.It is known that increasing the bandwidth of the observer improves the tracking speed but tolerates noise,which conflicts with observation accuracy.Therefore,we introduce a bandwidth scaling factor such that ABESO is formulated to a 2-degree-of-freedom system.The observer gain is determined and the bandwidth scaling factor adjusts the bandwidth according to the tracking error.When the tracking error decreases,the bandwidth decreases to suppress the noise,otherwise the bandwidth does not change.It is proven that the error dynamics are bounded and converge in finite time.The relationship between the upper bound of the estimation error and the scaling factor is given.When the scaling factor is less than 1,the ABESO has higher estimation accuracy than the linear extended state observer(LESO).Simulations of an uncertain nonlinear system with compound disturbances show that the proposed ABESO can successfully estimate the total disturbance in noisy environments.The mean error of total disturbance of ABESO is 15.28% lower than that of LESO. 展开更多

In this paper,an improved spatio-temporal alignment measurement method is presented to address the inertial matching measurement of hull deformation under the coexistence of time delay and large misalignment angle.Large misalignment angle and time delay often occur simultaneously and bring great challenges to the accurate measurement of hull deformation in space and time.The proposed method utilizes coarse alignment with large misalignment angle and time delay estimation of inertial measurement unit modeling to establish a brand-new spatiotemporal aligned hull deformation measurement model.In addition,two-step loop control is designed to ensure the accurate description of dynamic deformation angle and static deformation angle by the time-space alignment method of hull deformation.The experiments illustrate that the proposed method can effectively measure the hull deformation angle when time delay and large misalignment angle coexist. 展开更多

As an advanced device for observing atmospheric winds,the spaceborne Doppler Asymmetric Spatial Heterodyne(DASH)interferometer also encounters challenges associated with phase distortion,par-ticularly in limb sounding scenarios.This paper discusses interferogram modeling and phase distortion cor-rection techniques for spaceborne DASH interferometers.The modeling of phase distortion interferograms with and without Doppler shift for limb observation was conducted,and the effectiveness of the analytical expression was verified through numerical simulation.The simulation results indicate that errors propagate layer by layer while using the onion-peeling inversion algorithm to handle phase-distorted interferograms.In contrast,the phase distortion correction algorithm can achieve effective correction.This phase correction method can be successfully applied to correct phase distortions in the interferograms of the spaceborne DASH interferometer,providing a feasible solution to enhance its measurement accuracy. 展开更多

Evolution of the volume expansion of SiO/C composite electrodes in lithium-ion batteries during aging cycles

As a negative electrode material for lithium-ion batteries,silicon monoxide(SiO)suffers from dramatic volume changes during cycling,causing excessive stress within the electrode and resulting in electrode deformation and fragmentation.This ultimately leads to a decrease in cell capacity.The trends of volume expansion and capacity change of the SiO/graphite(SiO/C)composite electrode during cycling were investigated via in situ expansion monitoring.First,a series of expansion test schemes were designed,and the linear relationship between negative electrode expansion and cell capacity degradation was quantitatively analyzed.Then,the effects of different initial pressures on the long-term cycling performance of the cell were evaluated.Finally,the mechanism of their effects was analyzed by scanning electron microscope.The results show that after 50 cycles,the cell capacity decreases from 2.556 mAh to 1.689 mAh,with a capacity retention ratio(CRR)of only 66.08%.A linear relationship between the capacity retention ratio and thickness expansion was found.Electrochemical measurements and scanning electron microscope images demonstrate that intense stress inhibits the lithiation of the negative electrode and that the electrode is more susceptible to irreversible damage during cycling.Overall,these results reveal the relationship between the cycling performance of SiO and the internal pressure of the electrode from a macroscopic point of view,which provides some reference for the application of SiO/C composite electrodes in lithium-ion batteries. 展开更多

One of the detection objectives of the Chinese Asteroid Exploration mission is to investigate the space environment near the Main-belt Comet(MBC,Active Asteroid)311P/PANSTARRS.This paper outlines the scientific objectives,measurement targets,and measurement requirements for the proposed Gas and Ion Analyzer(GIA).The GIA is designed for in-situ mass spectrometry of neutral gases and low-energy ions,such as hydrogen,carbon,and oxygen,in the vicinity of 311P.Ion sampling techniques are essential for the GIA's Time-of-Flight(TOF)mass analysis capabilities.In this paper,we present an enhanced ion sampling technique through the development of an ion attraction model and an ion source model.The ion attraction model demonstrates that adjusting attraction grid voltage can enhance the detection efficiency of low-energy ions and mitigate the repulsive force of ions during sampling,which is influenced by the satellite's surface positive charging.The ion source model simulates the processes of gas ionization and ion multiplication.Simulation results indicate that the GIA can achieve a lower pressure limit below 10-13Pa and possess a dynamic range exceeding 10~9.These performances ensure the generation of ions with stable and consistent current,which is crucial for high-resolution and broad dynamic range mass spectrometer analysis.Preliminary testing experiments have verified GIA's capability to detect gas compositions such as H2O and N2.In-situ measurements near 311P using GIA are expected to significantly contribute to our understanding of asteroid activity mechanisms,the evolution of the atmospheric and ionized environments of main-belt comets,the interactions with solar wind,and the origin of Earth's water. 展开更多

Sea-based rocket launches encounter significant challenges stemming from dynamic marine environmental interactions.During the hot launch phase,characterized by low-velocity ascent,the departure of the rocket from the oscillatory platform exhibits heightened sensitivity to external disturbances.In the development stage,assessing the launch dynamics and the clearance between the rocket and framed launcher are crucial for improving the reliability of sea-based rocket launches in rough sea conditions.This study presents a high-fidelity dynamic model of maritime hot launch system,demonstrating 3.21%prediction error through rigorous validation against experimental datasets from comprehensive modal analyses and the full-scale rocket flight test.To mitigate collision risks,we develop a computational method employing spatial vector analysis for dynamic measurement of rocket-launcher clearance during departure.Systematic investigations reveal that in rough sea conditions,optimal departure dynamics are achieved at θ_(thrust)=270°nozzle azimuth configuration,reducing failure probability compared to conventional orientations.The developed assessment framework not only resolves critical safety challenges in current sea launch systems but also establishes foundational principles for optimizing adapter axial configuration patterns in future designs. 展开更多

Arching and cracking of joints between slabs have become a problem in China Railway Track System(CRTS)II slab track.The slab track is susceptible to complex temperature variations as a longitudinal continuous structure.Based on measured data,a thermal-mechanical coupling model of the track was established.The deformation characteristics and interfacial damage behavior of joints under typical temperature fields were studied.The findings indicate that the annual extreme temperature range of the slab track,fluctuates from−1.4 to 49.8℃.The annual temperature gradient within the vertical depth range of 0 to 0.2 m of the track varies between−16.19℃/m and 30.15℃/m.The vertical deformation of joints is significantly influenced by high temperatures,with a maximum measured deformation of 0.828 mm.The joint seams are primarily affected by low temperatures,which lead to a separation of 0.9 to 1.0 mm.Conversely,interlayer damage of joints is predominantly influenced by elevated temperatures.In summer,the maximum ratio of interface damage area in the joint can reach up to 95%,with the maximum debonding area ratio can be as high as 84%.The research results can provide help for joint damage regularity and deformation control of CRTS II slab track. 展开更多

This study investigates the application of Gurney and flight of fragment equations,typically used to predict metal fragment velocities,in modeling the water jet behavior.Three shotgun cartridge sizes were used as the energy source:2.59 g,5.83 g,and 7.13 g.Two configurations were tested:standard(full-barrel water load)and"negative 8"(partial water load).High-speed footage captured water column velocities,and Gurney models,including infinitely tamped and open-faced configurations,combined with the flight of fragment model were used to assess prediction accuracy.Results showed charge strength significantly affects water column velocity,with higher strengths yielding greater stability and velocity retention over distance.The infinitely tamped Gurney model closely predicted experimental velocities,deviating by as little as 1.4%for standard charges and 2.8% for negative 8 charges.Additionally,interesting dynamics such as a 1-2°rise in jet height and the rear overtaking the front was observed.These findings have significant implications for optimizing PAN disruptors and enhancing performance in high-velocity fluid applications and explosive breaching systems. 展开更多
