By introducing the H2 norm of the transfer function from disturbance to estimation error, sufficient and necessary conditions for disturbance decoupling in matrix second-order linear systems are established and are arranged into constraints on the design parameters via Luenberger function observers in terms of the closed-loop eigenvalues and the group of design parameters provided by the eigenstructure assignment approach. Therefore, the disturbance decoupling problem is converted into an eigenstructure assignment problem with extra parameter constraints. A simple example is investigated to show the effect and simplicity of the approach.展开更多

ACO is a parallelized bionic optimization algorithm which is inspired from the behavior of real ants. ACO algorithm is first introduced, a kind of positive feedback mechanism is adopted in ACO. Then, the solu- tion problem of linear systems of equations was reformulated as an unconstrained optimization problem for solution by an ACID algorithm. Finally, the ACID with other traditional methods is applied to solve a kind of multi-dimensional Hilbert ill-conditioned linear equations. The numerical results demonstrate that ACO is effective, robust and recommendable in solving ill-conditioned linear systems of equations.展开更多

First, a control law is established for jump systems based on pontryagin’s minimum principle and it can be constructed through numerical solution of iterative equations. The aim of this control strategy is to obtain an optimal control which can minimize the cost function under the worst disturbance at every sampling time. Due to the difficulty of the assurance of stability, then the above mentioned approach is improved by determining terminal weighting matrix which satisfies cost monotonicity condition. The control move which is calculated by using this type of terminal weighting matrix as boundary condition naturally guarantees the mean square stability of the closed-loop system. A sufficient condition for the existence of the terminal weighting matrix is presented in linear matrix inequality (LMI) form which can be solved efficiently by available software toolbox. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.展开更多

According to the proposed scheduling method, the performance between adjacent characteristic points is preserved by the invariant eigenvalues and the gradually varying eigenvectors. A sufficient stability criterion is given by constructing a series of Lyapunov functions based on the selected discrete characteristic points. An important contribution is that it provides a simple and feasible approach for the design of gain-scheduled controllers for linear time-varying systems, which can guarantee both the global stability and the desired closed-loop performance of the resulted system. The method is applied to the design of a BTT missile autopilot and the simulation results show that the method is superior to the traditional one in sense of either global stability or system performance.展开更多

A global stiff matrix is assembled and st...The strategies that minimize the overall solution time of multiple linear systems in 3D finite element method (FEM) modeling of direct current (DC) resistivity were discussed. A global stiff matrix is assembled and stored in two parts separately. One part is associated with the volume integral and the other is associated with the subsurface boundary integral. The equivalent multiple linear systems with closer right-hand sides than the original systems were constructed. A recycling Krylov subspace technique was employed to solve the multiple linear systems. The solution of the seed system was used as an initial guess for the subsequent systems. The results of two numerical experiments show that the improved algorithm reduces the iterations and CPU time by almost 50%, compared with the classical preconditioned conjugate gradient method.展开更多

An adaptive diagnostic algorithm is developed to diagnose the fault, and a modified version is proposed for general system to improve robustness. The less conservative delaydependent stability criteria for this system are proposed by applying new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and novel polynomials with time-varying delay (PTVD) compensation technique. The aim to deal with systems with fast-varying neutral-type delay can be achieved by using the new functional. The benefit brought by applying the PTVD compensation technique is that some useful elements can be included in criteria, which are generally ignored when estimating the upper bound of derivative of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional. The objective is to design linear memoryless filters such that for all uncertainties, the resulting augmented system is robust stochastically stable independent of delays and satisfies the proposed guaranteed cost performance. Based on stability theory in stochastic differential equations, a sufficient condition on the existence of robust guaranteed cost filters is derived. Robust guaranteed cost filters are designed in terms of linear matrix inequalities. In this paper, we propose a method based on mixed sensitivity H∞ for the control of linear time invariant(LTI) systems with varying time delays. The time delay is assumed bounded and the upper bound is known. In the technique we propose, the delay affecting the plant to be controlled is treated as an unmodeled uncertainty(in form of multiplicative uncertainty). That uncertainty is approximated and then an H∞based controller, for the plant represented by the multiplicative uncertainty and the nominal model, is calculated. The obtained H∞controller is used to control the LTI systems with varying time delays. Simulation examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.展开更多
