The application of various artificial intelligent(AI) techniques,namely artificial neural network(ANN),adaptive neuro fuzzy interface system(ANFIS),genetic algorithm optimized least square support vector machine(GA-LSSVM) and multivariable regression(MVR) models was presented to identify the real power transfer between generators and loads.These AI techniques adopt supervised learning,which first uses modified nodal equation(MNE) method to determine real power contribution from each generator to loads.Then the results of MNE method and load flow information are utilized to estimate the power transfer using AI techniques.The 25-bus equivalent system of south Malaysia is utilized as a test system to illustrate the effectiveness of various AI methods compared to that of the MNE method. 展开更多

Discrete event system(DES)models promote system engineering,including system design,verification,and assessment.The advancement in manufacturing technology has endowed us to fabricate complex industrial systems.Consequently,the adoption of advanced modeling methodologies adept at handling complexity and scalability is imperative.Moreover,industrial systems are no longer quiescent,thus the intelligent operations of the systems should be dynamically specified in the model.In this paper,the composition of the subsystem behaviors is studied to generate the complexity and scalability of the global system model,and a Boolean semantic specifying algorithm is proposed for generating dynamic intelligent operations in the model.In traditional modeling approaches,the change or addition of specifications always necessitates the complete resubmission of the system model,a resource-consuming and error-prone process.Compared with traditional approaches,our approach has three remarkable advantages:(i)an established Boolean semantic can be fitful for all kinds of systems;(ii)there is no need to resubmit the system model whenever there is a change or addition of the operations;(iii)multiple specifying tasks can be easily achieved by continuously adding a new semantic.Thus,this general modeling approach has wide potential for future complex and intelligent industrial systems. 展开更多

To fully leverage the advantages of mechanization and informatization in tunnel boring machine(TBM)operations,the authors aim to promote the advancement of tunnel construction technology toward intelligent development.This involved exploring the deep integration of next-generation artificial intelligence technologies,such as sensing technology,automatic control technology,big data technology,deep learning,and machine vision,with key operational processes,including TBM excavation,direction adjustment,step changes,inverted arch block assembly,material transportation,and operation status assurance.The results of this integration are summarized as follows.(1)TBM key excavation parameter prediction algorithm was developed with an accuracy rate exceeding 90%.The TBM intelligent step-change control algorithm,based on machine vision,achieved an image segmentation accuracy rate of 95%and gripper shoe positioning error of±5 mm.(2)An automatic positioning system for inverted arch blocks was developed,enabling real-time perception of the spatial position and deviation during the assembly process.The system maintains an elevation positioning deviation within±3 mm and a horizontal positioning deviation within±10 mm,reducing the number of surveyors in each work team.(3)A TBM intelligent rail transportation system that achieves real-time human-machine positioning,automatic switch opening and closing,automatic obstacle avoidance,intelligent transportation planning,and integrated scheduling and command was designed.Each locomotive formation reduces one shunter and improves comprehensive transportation efficiency by more than 20%.(4)Intelligent analysis and prediction algorithms were developed to monitor and predict the trends of the hydraulic and gear oil parameters in real time,enhancing the proactive maintenance and system reliability. 展开更多

[Objective]Under the combined impact of climate change and urbanization,urban rainstorm flood disasters occur frequently,seriously restricting urban safety and sustainable development.Relying on traditional grey infrastructure such as pipe networks for urban stormwater management is not enough to deal with urban rainstorm flood disasters under extreme rainfall events.The integration of green,grey and blue systems(GGB-integrated system)is gradually gaining recognition in the field of global flood prevention.It is necessary to further clarify the connotation,technical and engineering implementation strategies of the GGB-integrated system,to provide support for the resilient city construction.[Methods]Through literature retrieval and analysis,the relevant research and progress related to the layout optimization and joint scheduling optimization of the GGBintegrated system were systematically reviewed.In response to existing limitations and future engineering application requirements,key supporting technologies including the utilization of overground emergency storage spaces,safety protection of underground important infrastructure and multi-departmental collaboration,were proposed.A layout optimization framework and a joint scheduling framework for the GGB-integrated system were also developed.[Results]Current research on layout optimization predominantly focuses on the integration of green system and grey system,with relatively fewer studies incorporating blue system infrastructure into the optimization process.Moreover,these studies tend to be on a smaller scale with simpler scenarios,which do not fully capture the complexity of real-world systems.Additionally,optimization objective tend to prioritize environmental and economic goals,while social and ecological factors are less frequently considered.Current research on joint scheduling optimization is often limited to small-scale plots,with insufficient attention paid to the entire system.There is a deficiency in method for real-time,automated determination of optimal control strategies for combinations of multiple system facilities based on actual rainfall-runoff processes.Additionally,the application of emergency facilities during extreme conditions is not sufficiently addressed.Furthermore,both layout optimization and joint scheduling optimization lack consideration of the mute feed effect of flood and waterlogging in urban,watershed and regional scales.[Conclusion]Future research needs to improve the theoretical framework for layout optimization and joint scheduling optimization of GGB-integrated system.Through the comprehensive application of the Internet of things,artificial intelligence,coupling model development,multi-scale analysis,multi-scenario simulation,and the establishment of multi-departmental collaboration mechanisms,it can enhance the flood resilience of urban areas in response to rainfall events of varying intensities,particularly extreme rainfall events. 展开更多

The simultaneous transmitting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surface(STAR-RIS)can independently adjust surface’s reflection and transmission coefficients so as to enhance space coverage.For a multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)communication system with a STAR-RIS,a base station(BS),an eavesdropper,and multiple users,the system security rate is studied.A joint design of the power allocation at the transmitter and phase shift matrices for reflection and transmission at the STAR-RIS is conducted,in order to maximize the worst achievable security data rate(ASDR).Since the problem is nonconvex and hence challenging,a particle swarm optimization(PSO)based algorithm is developed to tackle the problem.Both the cases of continuous and discrete phase shift matrices at the STAR-RIS are considered.Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and shows the benefits of using STAR-RIS in MIMO mutliuser systems. 展开更多

Optimization model for performance-based warranty decision of degraded systems based on improved sparrow search algorithm

Performance-based warranties(PBWs)are widely used in industry and manufacturing.Given that PBW can impose financial burdens on manufacturers,rational maintenance decisions are essential for expanding profit margins.This paper proposes an optimization model for PBW decisions for systems affected by Gamma degradation processes,incorporating periodic inspection.A system performance degradation model is established.Preventive maintenance probability and corrective renewal probability models are developed to calculate expected warranty costs and system availability.A benefits function,which includes incentives,is constructed to optimize the initial and subsequent inspection intervals and preventive maintenance thresholds,thereby maximizing warranty profit.An improved sparrow search algorithm is developed to optimize the model,with a case study on large steam turbine rotor shafts.The results suggest the optimal PBW strategy involves an initial inspection interval of approximately 20 months,with subsequent intervals of about four months,and a preventive maintenance threshold of approximately 37.39 mm wear.When compared to common cost-minimization-based condition maintenance strategies and PBW strategies that do not differentiate between initial and subsequent inspection intervals,the proposed PBW strategy increases the manufacturer’s profit by 1%and 18%,respectively.Sensitivity analyses provide managerial recommendations for PBW implementation.The PBW strategy proposed in this study significantly increases manufacturers’profits by optimizing inspection intervals and preventive maintenance thresholds,and manufacturers should focus on technological improvement in preventive maintenance and cost control to further enhance earnings. 展开更多

A multi-objective intelligent coordinating optimization strategy based on qualitative and quantitative synthetic model for Pb-Zn sintering blending process was proposed to obtain optimal mixture ratio. The mechanism and neural network quantitative models for predicting compositions and rule models for expert reasoning were constructed based on statistical data and empirical knowledge. An expert reasoning method based on these models were proposed to solve blending optimization problem, including multi-objective optimization for the first blending process and area optimization for the second blending process, and to determine optimal mixture ratio which will meet the requirement of intelligent coordination. The results show that the qualified rates of agglomerate Pb, Zn and S compositions are increased by 7.1%, 6.5% and 6.9%, respectively, and the fluctuation of sintering permeability is reduced by 7.0%, which effectively stabilizes the agglomerate compositions and the permeability. 展开更多

A designing method of intelligent proportional-integral-derivative(PID) controllers was proposed based on the ant system algorithm and fuzzy inference. This kind of controller is called Fuzzy-ant system PID controller. It consists of an off-line part and an on-line part. In the off-line part, for a given control system with a PID controller,by taking the overshoot, setting time and steady-state error of the system unit step response as the performance indexes and by using the ant system algorithm, a group of optimal PID parameters K*p , Ti* and T*d can be obtained, which are used as the initial values for the on-line tuning of PID parameters. In the on-line part, based on Kp* , Ti*and Td* and according to the current system error e and its time derivative, a specific program is written, which is used to optimize and adjust the PID parameters on-line through a fuzzy inference mechanism to ensure that the system response has optimal transient and steady-state performance. This kind of intelligent PID controller can be used to control the motor of the intelligent bionic artificial leg designed by the authors. The result of computer simulation experiment shows that the controller has less overshoot and shorter setting time. 展开更多

To solve the problem of advanced digital manufacturing technology in the practical application, a knowledge engineering technology was introduced into the computer numerical control(CNC) programming. The knowledge acquisition, knowledge representation and reasoning used in CNC programming were researched. The CNC programming system functional architecture of impeller parts based on knowledge based engineering(KBE) was constructed. The structural model of the general knowledge-based system(KBS) was also constructed. The KBS of CNC programming system was established through synthesizing database technology and knowledge base theory. And in the context of corporate needs, based on the knowledge-driven manufacturing platform(i.e. UG CAD/CAM), VC++6.0 and UG/Open, the KBS and UG CAD/CAM were integrated seamlessly and the intelligent CNC programming KBE system for the impeller parts was developed by integrating KBE and UG CAD/CAM system. A method to establish standard process templates was proposed, so as to develop the intelligent CNC programming system in which CNC machining process and process parameters were standardized by using this KBE system. For the impeller parts processing, the method applied in the development of the prototype system is proven to be viable, feasible and practical. 展开更多

To explore the influence of intelligent highways and advanced traveler information systems(ATIS)on path choice behavior,a day-to-day(DTD)traffic flow evolution model with information from intelligent highways and ATIS is proposed,whereby the network reliability and experiential learning theory are introduced into the decision process for the travelers’route choice.The intelligent highway serves all the travelers who drive on it,whereas ATIS serves vehicles equipped with information systems.Travelers who drive on intelligent highways or vehicles equipped with ATIS determine their trip routes based on real-time traffic information,whereas other travelers use both the road network conditions from the previous day and historical travel experience to choose a route.Both roadway capacity degradation and travel demand fluctuations are considered to demonstrate the uncertainties in the network.The theory of traffic network flow is developed to build a DTD model considering information from intelligent highway and ATIS.The fixed point theorem is adopted to investigate the equivalence,existence and stability of the proposed DTD model.Numerical examples illustrate that using a high confidence level and weight parameter for the traffic flow reduces the stability of the proposed model.The traffic flow reaches a steady state as travelers’routes shift with repetitive learning of road conditions.The proposed model can be used to formulate scientific traffic organization and diversion schemes during road expansion or reconstruction. 展开更多

An artificial intelligence technique was applied to the optimization of flux adding systems and air blasting systems, the display of on line parameters, forecasting of mass and compositions of slag in the slagging period, optimization of cold material adding systems and air blasting systems, the display of on line parameters, and the forecasting of copper mass in the copper blow period in copper smelting converters. They were integrated to build the Intelligent Decision Support System of the Operation Optimization of Copper Smelting Converter(IDSSOOCSC), which is self learning and self adaptating. Development steps, monoblock structure and basic functions of the IDSSOOCSC were introduced. After it was applied in a copper smelting converter, every production quota was clearly improved after IDSSOOCSC had been run for 4 months. Blister copper productivity is increased by 6%, processing load of cold input is increased by 8% and average converter life span is improved from 213 to 235 furnace times. 展开更多

In this paper,an intelligent control method applying on numerical virtual flight is proposed.The proposed algorithm is verified and evaluated by combining with the case of the basic finner projectile model and shows a good application prospect.Firstly,a numerical virtual flight simulation model based on overlapping dynamic mesh technology is constructed.In order to verify the accuracy of the dynamic grid technology and the calculation of unsteady flow,a numerical simulation of the basic finner projectile without control is carried out.The simulation results are in good agreement with the experiment data which shows that the algorithm used in this paper can also be used in the design and evaluation of the intelligent controller in the numerical virtual flight simulation.Secondly,combined with the real-time control requirements of aerodynamic,attitude and displacement parameters of the projectile during the flight process,the numerical simulations of the basic finner projectile’s pitch channel are carried out under the traditional PID(Proportional-Integral-Derivative)control strategy and the intelligent PID control strategy respectively.The intelligent PID controller based on BP(Back Propagation)neural network can realize online learning and self-optimization of control parameters according to the acquired real-time flight parameters.Compared with the traditional PID controller,the concerned control variable overshoot,rise time,transition time and steady state error and other performance indicators have been greatly improved,and the higher the learning efficiency or the inertia coefficient,the faster the system,the larger the overshoot,and the smaller the stability error.The intelligent control method applying on numerical virtual flight is capable of solving the complicated unsteady motion and flow with the intelligent PID control strategy and has a strong promotion to engineering application. 展开更多

Aiming at the longterm dependence of air target intention recognition, this paper deeply explores the potential attribute features from the spatiotemporal sequence data of the target. First, we build an intelligent dynamic intention recognition framework, including a series of specific processes such as data source, data preprocessing,target space-time, convolutional neural networks-bidirectional gated recurrent unit-atteneion (CBA) model and intention recognition. Then, we analyze and reason the designed CBA model in detail. Finally, through comparison and analysis with other recognition model experiments, our proposed method can effectively improve the accuracy of air target intention recognition,and is of significance to the commanders’ operational command and situation prediction. 展开更多

As an important attribute of robots, safety is involved in each link of the full life cycle of robots, including the design, manufacturing, operation and maintenance. The present study on robot safety is a systematic project. Traditionally, robot safety is defined as follows: robots should not collide with humans, or robots should not harm humans when they collide. Based on this definition of robot safety, researchers have proposed ex ante and ex post safety standards and safety strategies and used the risk index and risk level as the evaluation indexes for safety methods. A massage robot realizes its massage therapy function through applying a rhythmic force on the massage object. Therefore, the traditional definition of safety, safety strategies, and safety realization methods cannot satisfy the function and safety requirements of massage robots. Based on the descriptions of the environment of massage robots and the tasks of massage robots, the present study analyzes the safety requirements of massage robots; analyzes the potential safety dangers of massage robots using the fault tree tool; proposes an error monitoring-based intelligent safety system for massage robots through monitoring and evaluating potential safety danger states, as well as decision making based on potential safety danger states; and verifies the feasibility of the intelligent safety system through an experiment. 展开更多

Mission planning was thoroughly studied in the areas of multiple intelligent agent systems,such as multiple unmanned air vehicles,and multiple processor systems.However,it still faces challenges due to the system complexity,the execution order constraints,and the dynamic environment uncertainty.To address it,a coordinated dynamic mission planning scheme is proposed utilizing the method of the weighted AND/OR tree and the AOE-Network.In the scheme,the mission is decomposed into a time-constraint weighted AND/OR tree,which is converted into an AOE-Network for mission planning.Then,a dynamic planning algorithm is designed which uses task subcontracting and dynamic re-decomposition to coordinate conflicts.The scheme can reduce the task complexity and its execution time by implementing real-time dynamic re-planning.The simulation proves the effectiveness of this approach. 展开更多
