To control the robot and track the designed trajectory with uncertain disturbances in a specified precision range, an adaptive fuzzy control scheme for the robot arm manipulator is discussed. The controller output error method (COEM) is used to design the adaptive fuzzy controller. A few or all of the parameters of the controller are adjusted by using the gradient descent algorithm to minimize the output error. COEM is adopted in the adaptive control system for the robot arm manipulator with 5-DOF. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the method and the real time adjustment of the parameters. 展开更多

On the simple continuously variable transmission (CVT) driveline model, the design of adaptive fuzzy control system for CVT vehicle is presented. The adaptive fuzzy control system consists of a scaling factor self-tuning fuzzy-PI throttle controller, and a hybrid fuzzy-PID CVT ratio and brake controller. The presented adaptive fuzzy control strategy is vehicle model independent, which depends only on the instantaneous vehicle states, but does not depend on vehicle parameters. So it has good robustness against uncertain vehicle parameters and exogenous load disturbance. Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive fuzzy strategy has good adaptability and practicality value. 展开更多

This paper presents the design and implementation of an energy management system (EMS) with wavelet transform and fuzzy control for a residential micro-grid. The hybrid system in this paper consists of a wind turbine generator, photovoltaic (PV) panels, an electric vehicle (EV), and a super capacitor (SC), which is able to connect or disconnect to the main grid. The control strategy is responsible for compensating the difference between the generated power by the wind and solar generators and the demanded power by the loads. Wavelet transform decomposes the power difference into a smoothed component and a fast fluctuated component. The command approach used for fuzzy logic rules considers the state of charging (SOC) of EV, renewable production, and the load demand as parameters. Furthermore, the command rules are developed in order to ensure a reliable grid when taking into account the EV battery protection to decide the output power of the EV. The model of the hybrid system is developed in detail under Matlab/Simulink software environment. 展开更多

A pressurizer is one of important equipment in a pressurized water reactor plant. It is used to maintain the pressure of primary coolant within allowed range because the sharp change of coolant pressure affects the security of reactor, therefor, the study of pressurizer’s pressure control methods is very important. In this paper, an adaptive fuzzy controller is presented for pressure control of a presurizer in a nuclear power plant. The controller can on-line tune fuzzy control rules and parameters by self-learning in the actual control process, which possesses the way of thinking like human to make a decision. The simulation results for a pressurized water reactor plant show that the adaptive fuzzy controller has optimum and intelligent characteristics, which prove the controller is effective. 展开更多

The experimental setup for the needle insertion is built up to validate the algorithm. How the forces dur- ing the insertion make the needle deflect away from the planned path is given, and the normal meth- od correcting the deflection is obtained accordingly. Because the normal method cannot perform well for correction, a fuzzy controller is established. The input module, output module, fuzzification module, defuzzification module and inference engine for the controller are given respectively accord- ing to the fuzzy theory. Our experimental results show that the fuzzy controlling system presenting in the paper can better eliminate the deflection. 展开更多

The design of room temperature controller is taken as an example to discuss the design of fuzzy controller using common microprogrammed control unit (MCU) in detail. Based on fuzzy theory the query control tables fixed in read only memory (ROM) of MCU are established to realize the energy saving in the room temperature controller and the reasoning procedure is analyzed. The diagram of hardware design and the flow chart of software of room temperature controller are presented. The results show that the proposed method is practical and effective to achieve the energy saving goal. 展开更多

On the basis of analyzing the system constitution of tracked vehicle semi-active suspension, which consists of electrorheological (ER) damper and shape memory alloy (SMA) spring, a seven degree of freedom (7-DOF) dynamic model is established. The change of the elasticity of SMA spring and the characteristics of the ER shock absorber are studied. In addition, the study about fuzzy control logic is also carried out. Simulation of a C grade road under random excitations and definite disturbances is performed. Simulation result shows the fuzzy control strategy, which is used in the control of semi-active suspension system with ER damper and SMA springs, is effective, stable and reliable. 展开更多

In order to study the dynamic characteristics of automobile with a CVT system, a bond graph analysis model of continuously variable transmission is established. On the base of the simulation state space equations that are established with bond graph theory, a fuzzy control strategy with an expert system of starting process has been introduced. Considering uncertain system parameters and exterior resistance disturbing , the effect of the profile of membership function and the defuzzification algorithm on the capacity of the fuzzy controller has been studied. The result of simulation proves that the proposed fuzzy controller is effective and feasible. Such controller has been employed in the actual control and has proved practicable. The study lays a foundation for design of the fuzzy controller for automobile with a CVT system. 展开更多

Aiming at the problem of network-induced delay and data dropout in networked control system, an improved fuzzy controller is proposed in this paper. Considering the great influence of a controller on the performance of control system, an improved controller with a second order fuzzy controller and network-induced delay compensator being added to the basic fuzzy controller is proposed to realize self-regulation on-line. For this type of controller, neither plant model nor measurement of network delay is required. So it is capable of automatically adjusting quantified factor, pro- portional factor, and integral factor according to the control system error and its derivative. The design makes full use of the advantages of quickness in operation and reduction of steady state error because of its integral function. The con- troller has a good control effect on time-delay and can keep a better performance by self-regulation on-line in the net- work with data dropout and interference. It is good in quickness, adaptability, and robustness, which is favorable for controlling the long time-delay system. 展开更多

By using fuzzy inference, PID parameters can be adjusted on line by the fuzzy controller with PID parameters self-tuning. According to the characteristics of target tracking system in a robot weapon, grey prediction theory and fuzzy PID control ideas are combined. A grey prediction mathematical model is constructed and a fuzzy PID controller with grey prediction was developed. Simulation result shows fuzzy PID control algorithm with grey prediction is an efficient method that can improve the control equality and robustness of traditional PID control and fuzzy PID control, and has much better performance for target tracking. 展开更多

The dynamic model of power transmission and automatic clutch system is developed. Using tools of Simulink, the transient characteristics during the vehicle starting, including the jerk and the clutch slip time, are provided here. The new adaptive genetic algorithm(AGA) is built for inducing suitable search and optimization relationship. The use of six fuzzy logic controllers(6FLCs) is proposed for dynamic control genetic operating parameters of a symbolic-coded GA. This paper uses AGA based on 6FLCs to deal with the travelling salesman problem (TSP). Experimental results show that AGA based on 6FLCs is more efficient than a standard GA in solving combinatorial optimization problems similar to TSP. 展开更多

Aim To analyse the influence of knowledge base on the performance of the fuzzy controller of the electrohydraulic position control system,and to determine their selection cri- teria. Methods Experiments based on different membership functions,scaling factors and con-trol rules were done separately.The experiment results and the influence of different know- ledge base on the control performance were analysed in theory so that criteria of selcting knowledge base can be summarized correctly.Results Knowledge base,including membershipfunctions, scaling factors and control rules,has a crucial effect on the fuzzy control system.Suitably selected knowledge base can lead to good control performance of fuzzy control sys-tem. Conclusion Being symmetric,having an intersection ratio of 1 and satisfying width con- dition are three necessities for selecting membership functions.Selecting scaling factors dependson both the system requirement and a comprehensive analysis in the overshoot,oscillation, rising time and stability. Integrity and continuity must be guaranteed when determining control rules. 展开更多

Due to the structure characteristics of the flexible manipulator, the vibration modes must be controlled to realize the high-precision tip position. The Lagrangian principle is utilized to model the dynamic function of the single-degree flexible manipulator incorporating the assumed modes method. Simulation results of the fuzzy adaptive control method in the location control and the trajectory tracking with different tip disturbances are presented and compared with the results of the classic PD control. In considering the characteristic of a rudder,the maneuvers of a ship were described by an unmatched uncertain nonlinear mathematic model with unknown virtual control coefficient and parameter uncertainties.In order to solve the uncertainties in the ship heading control,specifically the controller singular and paramount re-estimation problem,a new multiple sliding-mode adaptive fuzzy control algorithm was proposed by combining Nussbaum gain technology,the approximation property of fuzzy logic systems,and a multiple sliding-mode control algorithm.Based on the Lyapunov function,it was proven in theory that the controller made all signals in the nonlinear system of unmatched uncertain ship motion uniformly bounded,with tracking errors converging to zero.Simulation results show that the demonstrated controller design can track a desired course fast and accurately.It also exhibits strong robustness peculiarity in relation to system uncertainties and disturbances. 展开更多

This paper presents a robust output feedback control method for uncertain chaotic systems, which comprises a nonlinear inversion-based controller with a fuzzy robust compensator. The proposed controller eliminates the unknown nonlinear function by using a fuzzy system, whose inputs are not the state variables but feedback error signals. The underlying stability analysis as well as parameter update law design are carried out by using the Lyapunov-based technique. The proposed method indicates that the nonlinear inversion-based control approach can also be applied to uncertain chaotic systems. The basic principle of the adaptive fuzzy algorithm is analyzed. The initial value of the fuzzy based vector is given by the traditional fuzzy membership. Adaptive law of the adjustable parameters 6 is also determined. The directly adaptive fuzzy ACC controller is designed based on Matlab fuzzy toolbox. Matlab-Simulink is adopted to test the function of the adaptive fuzzy ACC controller. The control system is established using a 7 DOF vehicle dynamics model. Simulation results indicate that the principle of the method is correct and it performs well both in cruise and distance keeping. 展开更多
