In this work,ultrasonic energy field assistance combined with tempering treatment is proposed to improve the microstructure and mechanical properties of A517Q alloy steel fabricated by laser directed energy deposition(LDED).The effects of ultrasonic vibration(UV)and tempering treatment on microstructure evolution,microhardness distribution and mechanical properties of deposition layer were studied in detail.The microstructure of UV assisted LDED sample after tempering is mainly composed of tempered sorbite(TS).Due to the improvement of microstructure inhomogeneity and grains refinement,UV assisted LDED sample with tempering treatment obtains excellent mechanical properties.The ultimate tensile strength(UTS),yield strength(YS)and elongation after breaking(EL)reach 765 MPa,657 MPa and 19.5%,the increase ratios of UTS and YS are 14.5%and 33.8%while maintaining plasticity compared to original LDED sample,respectively.It is obvious that ultrasonic vibration combined with tempering is a potential and effective method to obtain uniform microstructure and excellent mechanical properties in metal laser directed energy deposition field. 展开更多

NiTi shape memory alloy(SMA)with nominal composition of Ni 50.8 at%and Ti 49.2 at%was additively manufactured(AM)by selective laser melting(SLM)and laser directed energy deposition(DED)for a comparison study,with emphasis on its phase composition,microstructure,mechanical property and deformation mechanism.The results show that the yield strength and ductility obtained by SLM are 100 MPa and 8%,respectively,which are remarkably different from DED result with 700 MPa and 2%.The load path of SLM sample presents shape memory effect,corresponding to martensite phase detected by XRD;while the load path of DED presents pseudo-elasticity with austenite phase.In SLM sample,fine grain and hole provide a uniform deformation during tensile test,resulting in a better elongation.Furthermore,the nonequilibrium solidification was studied by a temperature field simulation to understand the difference of the two 3D printing methods.Both temperature gradient G and growth rate R determine the microstructure and phase in the SLM sample and DED sample,which leads to similar grain morphologies because of similar G/R.While higher G×R of SLM leads to a finer grain size in SLM sample,providing enough driving force for martensite transition and subsequently changing texture compared to DED sample. 展开更多

The state of the ... Test of consistency is critical for the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) methodology. When a pairwise comparison matrix(PCM) fails the consistency test, the decision maker(DM) needs to make revisions. The state of the art focuses on changing a single entry or creating a new matrix based on the original inconsistent matrix so that the modified matrix can satisfy the consistency requirement. However, we have noticed that the reason that causes inconsistency is not only numerical inconsistency, but also logical inconsistency, which may play a more important role in the whole inconsistency. Therefore, to realize satisfactory consistency, first of all, we should change some entries that form a directed circuit to make the matrix logically consistent, and then adjust other entries within acceptable deviations to make the matrix numerically consistent while preserving most of the original comparison information. In this paper, we firstly present some definitions and theories, based on which two effective methods are provided to identify directed circuits. Four optimization models are proposed to adjust the original inconsistent matrix. Finally, illustrative examples and comparison studies show the effectiveness and feasibility of our method. 展开更多

The software reliability testing has many disadvantages in practice, such as high complexity of constructing operational profiles and poor fault detection efficiency. Oppositely, the directed testing with a high fault detection rate is incapable of estimating reliability quantificationally. To solve this problem, a hybrid testing combining reliability and directed testing as well as a reliability model based on the order statistic (OS) model were presented by Mitchell. An extended research on Mitchell's work is proposed. Firstly, the most proper distribution of the fault's failure rate which tends to be Iognormal is suggested, and a detailed form of the OS model based on Iognormal and the corresponding parameter estimation method are proposed, respectively. Secondly, an im- plementing framework for the hybrid testing is proposed. Finally, the hybrid testing and the OS model are applied on a real website system. The experimental results indicate: the hybrid testing has more efficient fault detection power and lower testing cost than the reliability testing; compared with three traditional software reliabil ity growth models, the OS model has a best or pretty estimation or prediction power for each data set; and for the failure data set collected from hybrid testing, the OS model also achieves an ac- ceptable estimation result. 展开更多

Analysis and design techniques for cooperative flocking of nonholonomic multi-robot systems with connectivity maintenance on directed graphs are presented. First, a set of bounded and smoothly distributed control protocols are devised via carefully designing a class of bounded artificial potential fields (APF) which could guarantee the connectivity maintenance, col ision avoidance and distance stabilization simultaneously during the system evolution. The connectivity of the underlying network can be preserved, and the desired stable flocking behavior can be achieved provided that the initial communication topology is strongly connected rather than undirected or balanced, which relaxes the constraints for group topology and extends the previous work to more generalized directed graphs. Furthermore, the proposed control algorithm is extended to solve the flocking problem with a virtual leader. In this case, it is shown that al robots can asymptotically move with the desired velocity and orientation even if there is only one informed robot in the team. Finally, nontrivial simulations and experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

Millimeter-wave(MMW)technology has been widely utilized in human security screening applications due to its superior penetration capabilities through clothing and safety for human exposure.However,existing methods largely rely on fixed polarization modes,neglecting the potential insights from variations in target echoes with respect to incident polarization.This study provides a theoretical analysis of the cross-polarization echo power as a function of the incident polarization angle under linear polarization conditions.Additionally,based on the transmission characteristics of multi-layer medium,we extend the depth spectrum model employed in direct detection to accommodate scenarios involving multi-layered structures.Building on this foundation,by obtaining multiple depth spectra through polarization angle scanning,we propose the Polarization Angle-Depth Matrix to characterize targets across both the polarization angle and depth dimensions in direct detection.Simulations and experimental validations confirm its accuracy and practical value in detecting concealed weapons in human security screening scenarios. 展开更多

Preparation and structure evolution of coal-based needle coke by co-carbonization of coal direct liquefaction pitch and waste engine oil

Needle coke,a highperformance artificial carbon material,requires precise composition control of its raw materials as this critically determines the structural characteristics and performance of the final product.In this study,needle coke samples were prepared from coal direct liquefaction pitch(CDLP)and waste engine oil(WEO)through component optimization and a cocarbonization process.The microstructure and properties were investigated using the following characterization techniques:Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FT-IR),Polarized Light Microscopy(PLM),Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM),X-ray Diffraction(XRD),Raman Spectroscopy,Thermogravimetric Analysis(TGA),Micro-Strength(MS)and Powder Resistivity(PR).The co-carbonization mechanism of CDLP and WEO was systematically investigated.The results indicated that the incorporation of WEO significantly reduced the viscosity of the co-carbonization system,and its abundant aliphatic structures provided alkyl radicals and active sites.The synergistic interaction of aromatic components between the CDLP and WEO effectively promoted the growth and order accumulation of aromatic carbon layers.When 50%WEO was introduced,the prepared needle coke exhibited an excellent microstructure and properties.The fibrous and leaflet structure content reached 76.2%,the ideal graphite lattice content reached 89.7%.These results demonstrated remarkable oxidation resistance and electrical conductivity,with a powder resistivity of 605.1 mΩ·mm.This work establishes a process with cost advantages for the production of needle coke. 展开更多

S-scheme unidirectional transmission of CdS-CuO heterojunction benefits for superior photocatalytic hydrogen evolution efficiency

The efficiency and stability of catalysts for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution(PHE)are largely governed by the charge transfer behaviors across the heterojunction interfaces.In this study,CuO,a typical semiconductor featuring a broad spectral absorption range,is successfully employed as the electron acceptor to combine with CdS for constructing a S-scheme heterojunction.The optimized photocatalyst(CdSCuO2∶1)delivers an exceptional hydrogen evolution rate of 18.89 mmol/(g·h),4.15-fold higher compared with bare CdS.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflection absorption spectroscopy(UV-vis DRS)confirmed the S-scheme band structure of the composites.Moreover,the surface photovoltage(SPV)and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)indicated that the photogenerated electrons and photogenerated holes of CdS-CuO2∶1 were respectively transferred to the conduction band(CB)of CdS with a higher reduction potential and the valence band(VB)of CuO with a higher oxidation potential under illumination,as expected for the S-scheme mechanism.Density-functional-theory calculations of the electron density difference(EDD)disclose an interfacial electric field oriented from CdS to CuO.This built-in field suppresses charge recombination and accelerates carrier migration,rationalizing the markedly enhanced PHE activity.This study offers a novel strategy for designing S-scheme heterojunctions with high light harvesting and charge utilization toward sustainable solar-tohydrogen conversion. 展开更多

To deal with the problem that the block sparse Bayesian algorithm exists in grid estimation,an off-grid weighted block sparse Bayesian algorithm is proposed based on coherent accumulation.The algorithm first uses the signal characteristics to coherently accumulate the polarization-sensitive array received data to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR);then the first-order Taylor expansion of the steering vector is performed,and an off-grid real-valued model is introduced by improving the block structure;then the weighting vectors are introduced to accelerate the iteration of the algorithm and reduce the number of iterations;and finally,the solution of the off-grid parameters is achieved by iterative optimization of the parameters.Compared with the traditional block sparse Bayesian learning(BSBL)algorithm,the method iterates faster and achieves efficient joint off-grid polarization-DOA estimation.Simulation results show the effectiveness of the algorithm. 展开更多

This study aims to establish an integrated sensitivity analysis framework for optimization and design of the dynamic performance of mechanical systems such as tracked vehicles,by combining the direct differentiation method(DDM)with the linear multibody system transfer matrix method(linear MSTMM).The rigid-flexible coupled multibody system dynamics model of a tracked vehicle is established using the linear MSTMM and validated through the modal test.Building upon the existing DDM-based eigenvalue sensitivity analysis method within the linear MSTMM,the DDM is embedded into it to enable programmable and efficient computation of dynamic response sensitivities for mechanical systems.The proposed approach is used to quantitatively evaluate the sensitivities of both natural vibration characteristics(e.g.,natural frequencies and mode shapes)and transient dynamic responses of the tracked vehicle with respect to system parameters,successfully identifying critical structural parameters.Compared to conventional finite difference methods,the developed methodology eliminates sensitivity to perturbation step sizes.The contributions of this work lie in establishing a unified theoretical foundation and analysis framework for guiding dynamics optimization and design of mechanical systems,and extending the applicability of the linear MSTMM to sensitivity analysis of transient dynamic responses. 展开更多

Causality,the science of cause and effect,has made it possible to create a new family of models.Such models are often referred to as causal models.Unlike those of mathematical,numerical,empirical,or machine learning(ML)nature,causal models hope to tie the cause(s)to the effect(s)pertaining to a phenomenon(i.e.,data generating process)through causal principles.This paper presents one of the first works at creating causal models in the area of structural and construction engineering.To this end,this paper starts with a brief review of the principles of causality and then adopts four causal discovery algorithms,namely,PC(Peter-Clark),FCI(fast causal inference),GES(greedy equivalence search),and GRa SP(greedy relaxation of the sparsest permutation),have been used to examine four phenomena,including predicting the load-bearing capacity of axially loaded members,fire resistance of structural members,shear strength of beams,and resistance of walls against impulsive(blast)loading.Findings from this study reveal the possibility and merit of discovering complete and partial causal models.Finally,this study also proposes two simple metrics that can help assess the performance of causal discovery algorithms. 展开更多

重性抑郁障碍(MDD)是全球最常见的精神疾病之一,其复杂的神经生物学机制以及对个体化治疗的迫切需求,推动了抑郁症脑影像大数据研究的进一步发展。静息态功能磁共振成像作为活体无创的全脑神经影像学技术,已广泛应用于MDD的脑影像病理... 重性抑郁障碍(MDD)是全球最常见的精神疾病之一,其复杂的神经生物学机制以及对个体化治疗的迫切需求,推动了抑郁症脑影像大数据研究的进一步发展。静息态功能磁共振成像作为活体无创的全脑神经影像学技术,已广泛应用于MDD的脑影像病理特征分析,但由于小样本和分析方法差异等因素,研究结果推广性受限。为解决这一问题,我国学者依托DPARSF的国内临床用户网络,联合全国精神科专家,牵头建立了抑郁症脑影像大数据(DIRECT)联盟,通过统一标准化预处理,显著提高了研究结果的可重复性。DIRECT联盟于2020年面向全球公开了REST-meta-MDD数据库,为研究者提供了一个开放的数据资源。本研究对2019–2025年使用REST-meta-MDD数据库进行研究的103篇文章进行了文献计量学分析。结果发现,REST-meta-MDD不仅加速了抑郁症的脑影像学研究,还促进了跨国合作和开放科学的发展。通过数据共享,研究者在MDD的亚型分类、诊断模型优化及脑结构和功能异质性等方向取得了进展,也为其他精神疾病的诊断提供了重要参考,增强了不同神经精神疾病之间的诊断差异化。未来,随着更多样本的加入和数据共享的深入,REST-meta-MDD数据库将在训练多疾病分类模型、实现跨疾病诊断、指导神经调控干预以及针对特定临床问题的人工智能分析等方面发挥更大作用。 展开更多

Electronic reconnaissance units commonly utilize an interferometer direction-finding system to measure the incoming direction of radar radiation signals.This approach enables the accurate determination of threat source locations,which is essential for devising route plans oriented toward flight path generation.When a frequency diverse array(FDA)system is adopted by ground radars,errors are introduced into the angle measurements of the passive direction finding system.To address this issue,this study starts with FDA model establishment and equiphasic surface characteristics analysis and analyzes the principles of FDA deception in identifying one-dimensional single-baseline interferometer directions.Additionally,the Cramer-Rao bounds of the signal carrier frequency estimation error and angle measurement error during the interferometer’s direction finding process are considered.The simulation results verify that the one-dimensional single-baseline interferometer direction finding system can be deceived by the FDA radar,and the FDA with a sine frequency offset exhibits the optimum deception effect. 展开更多

To enhance the recuperation rate of the mine and comply with the stipulations of green mining technology, it is vital to expeditiously recuperate the coal pillar resources in the final stage, thus preventing the considerable squandering of resources. The coal pillar resource of the main roadway and its branch roadway constitutes a significant recovery subject. Its coal pillar shape is regular and possesses a considerable strike distance, facilitating the arrangement of the coal pillar recovery working face (CPRWF) for mining operations. However, for the remaining coal pillars with a thick and hard roof (THF) and multiple tectonic zones, CPRWF encounters challenges in selecting an appropriate layout, managing excessive roof pressure, and predicting mining stress. Aiming at the roadway coal pillar group with THF and multi-structural areas in specific projects, a method of constructing multi-stage CPRWF by one side gob-side entry driving (GSED) and one side roadway reusing is proposed. Through theoretical calculation of roof fracture and numerical simulation verification, combined with field engineering experience and economic analysis, the width of the narrow coal pillar (NCP) in the GSED is determined to be 10 m and the length of the CPRWF is 65 m. Concurrently, the potential safety hazard that the roof will fall asymmetrically and THF is difficult to break during CPRWF mining after GSED is analyzed and verified. Then, a control method involving the pre-cutting of the roof in the reused roadway before mining is proposed. This method has been shown to facilitate the complete collapse of THF, reduce the degree of mine pressure, and facilitate the symmetrical breaking of the roof. Accordingly, a roof-cutting scheme based on a directional drilling rig, bidirectional shaped polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe, and emulsion explosive was devised, and the pre-splitting of 8.2 m THF was accomplished. Field observations indicate that directional cracks are evident in the roof, the coal wall is flat during CPRWF mining, and the overall level of mining pressure is within the control range. Therefore, the combined application of GSED and roof-cutting technology for coal pillar recovery has been successfully implemented, thereby providing new insights and engineering references for the construction and pressure relief mining of CPRWF. 展开更多

Among the synthesis techniques for graphene,chemical vapor deposition(CVD)enables the direct growth of graphene films on insulating substrates.Its advantages include uniform coverage,high quality,scalability,and compatibility with industrial processes.Graphene is chemically inert and has a zero-bandgap which poses a problem for its use as a functional layer,and nitrogen doping has become an important way to overcome this.Post-plasma treatment has been explored for the synthesis of nitrogen-doped graphene,but the procedures are intricate and not suitable for large-scale production.We report the direct synthesis of nitrogen-doped graphene on a 4-inch sapphire wafer by ethanol-assisted CVD employing pyridine as the carbon feedstock,where the nitrogen comes from the pyridine and the hydroxyl group in ethanol improves the quality of the graphene produced.Additionally,the types of nitrogen dopant produced and their effects on III-nitride epitaxy were also investigated,resulting in the successful illumination of LED devices.This work presents an effective synthesis strategy for the preparation of nitrogen-doped graphene,and provides a foundation for designing graphene functional layers in optoelectronic devices. 展开更多

Direct ethanol fuel cells(DEFCs)are a promising alternative to conventional energy sources,offering high energy density,environmental sustainability,and operational safety.Compared to methanol fuel cells,DEFCs exhibit lower toxicity and a more mature preparation process.Unlike hydrogen fuel cells,DEFCs provide superior storage and transport feasibility,as well as cost-effectiveness,significantly enhancing their commercial viability.However,the stable C-C bond in ethanol creates a high activation energy barrier,often resulting in incomplete electrooxidation.Current commercial platinum(Pt)-and palladium(Pd)-based catalysts demonstrate low C-C bond cleavage efficiency(<7.5%),severely limiting DEFC energy output and power density.Furthermore,high catalyst costs and insufficient activity impede large-scale commercialization.Recent advances in DEFC anode catalyst design have focused on optimizing material composition and elucidating catalytic mechanisms.This review systematically examines developments in ethanol electrooxidation catalysts over the past five years,highlighting strategies to improve C1 pathway selectivity and C-C bond activation.Key approaches,such as alloying,nanostructure engineering,and interfacial synergy effects,are discussed alongside their mechanistic implications.Finally,we outline current challenges and future prospects for DEFC commercialization. 展开更多
