The design of cost-effective and efficient metal-free carbon-based catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)is of great significance for increasing the production of clean hydrogen by the electrolysis of alkaline water.Precise control of the electronic structure by heteroatom doping has proven to be efficient for increasing catalytic activity.Nevertheless,both the structural characteristics and the underlying mechanism are not well understood,especially for doping with two different atoms,thus limiting the use of these catalysts.We report the production of phosphorus and nitrogen co-doped hollow carbon nanospheres(HCNs)by the copolymerization of pyrrole and aniline at a Triton X-100 micelle-interface,followed by doping with phytic acid and carbonization.The unique pore structure and defect-rich framework of the HCNs expose numerous active sites.Crucially,the combined effect of graphitic nitrogen and phosphorus-carbon bonds modulate the local electronic structure of adjacent C atoms and facilitates electron transfer.As a res-ult,the HCN carbonized at 1100°C exhibited superior HER activity and an outstanding stability(70 h at a current density of 10 mA cm^(−2))in alkaline water,because of the large number of graphitic nitrogen and phosphorus-carbon bonds. 展开更多

Binary composites(ZIF-67/rGO)were synthesized by one-step precipitation method using cobalt nitrate hexahydrate as metal source,2-methylimidazole as organic ligand,and reduced graphene oxide(rGO)as carbon carrier.Then Ru3+was introduced for ion exchange,and the porous Ru-doped Co_(3)O_(4)/rGO(Ru-Co_(3)O_(4)/rGO)composite electrocatalyst was prepared by annealing.The phase structure,morphology,and valence state of the catalyst were analyzed by X-ray powder diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).In 1 mol·L^(-1)KOH,the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)performance of the catalyst was measured by linear sweep voltammetry,cyclic voltammetry,and chronoamperometry.The results show that the combination of Ru doping and rGO provides a fast channel for collaborative electron transfer.At the same time,rGO as a carbon carrier can improve the electrical conductivity of Ru-Co_(3)O_(4)particles,and the uniformly dispersed nanoparticles enable the reactants to diffuse freely on the catalyst.The results showed that the electrochemical performance of Ru-Co_(3)O_(4)/rGO was much better than that of Co_(3)O_(4)/rGO,and the overpotential of Ru-Co_(3)O_(4)/rGO was 363.5 mV at the current density of 50 mA·cm^(-2). 展开更多

Several tritylodontid taxa have been reported from the Upper Jurassic of the Wucaiwan area in the Junggar Basin of Xinjiang,northwestern China,including Yuanotherium minor.The original study described the partially preserved postcanine teeth in the middle of the left upper maxilla.After detailed re-examination of the specimen and by CT scanning,3D reconstruction,and scanning electron microscopy observations,we provided a more detailed description of the osteology,neurosensory,and tooth wear pattern for all the bones preserved in this specimen and clarified some characters.Based on new information about the cusp wear pattern,the chewing movement pattern of the dentition and detailed cusp morphology,we discussed the cuspal homology of upper cheek teeth of tritylodontids and postulate a standardized method for cusp identification.We hypothesize that the unique maxilla characteristics furnish the evidence for transitional stages about the evolution of the upper jaw-palate structure in tritylodontids. 展开更多

Summarizes the potential and limitations of cellular automata in understanding microstructure evolution during solidification, explores the evolution of microstructures during solidification, and adds to our existing knowledge of cellular automaton theory. Theoretical Insights into the Atomic and Electronic Structures of Polyperyleneimide:On the Origin of Photocatalytic Oxygen Evolution Activity

Polymeric perylene diimide(PDI)has been evidenced as a good candidate for photocatalytic water oxidation,yet the origin of the photocatalytic oxygen evolution activity remains unclear and needs further exploration.Herein,with crystal and atomic structures of the self-assembled PDI revealed from the X-ray diffraction pattern,the electronic structure is theoretically illustrated by the first-principles density functional theory calculations,suggesting the suitable band structure and the direct electronic transition for efficient photocatalytic oxygen evolution over PDI.It is confirmed that the carbonyl O atoms on the conjugation structure serve as the active sites for oxygen evolution reaction by the crystal orbital Hamiltonian group analysis.The calculations of reaction free energy changes indicate that the oxygen evolution reaction should follow the reaction pathway of H_(2)O→^(*)OH→^(*)O→^(*)OOH→^(*)O_(2)with an overpotential of 0.81 V.Through an in-depth theoretical computational analysis in the atomic and electronic structures,the origin of photocatalytic oxygen evolution activity for PDI is well illustrated,which would help the rational design and modification of polymeric photocatalysts for efficient oxygen evolution. 展开更多

Sulfur-doped iron-cobalt tannate nanorods(S-FeCoTA)derived from metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)as electrocatalysts were synthesized via a one-step hydrothermal method.The optimized S-FeCoTA was interlaced by loose nanorods,which had many voids.The S-FeCoTA catalysts exhibited excellent electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction(OER)performance with a low overpotential of 273 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2)and a small Tafel slope of 36 mV·dec^(-1)in 1 mol·L^(-1)KOH.The potential remained at 1.48 V(vs RHE)at 10 mA·cm^(-2)under continuous testing for 15 h,implying that S-FeCoTA had good stability.The Faraday efficiency of S-FeCoTA was 94%.The outstanding OER activity of S-FeCoTA is attributed to the synergistic effects among S,Fe,and Co,thus promoting electron transfer,reducing the reaction kinetic barrier,and enhancing the OER performance. 展开更多

Na and O Co-doped Carbon Nitride for Efficient Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

Elemental doping is an effective strategy for tuning the band structure of graphite carbon nitride(CN)to enhance its photocatalytic performance.In this study,sodium(Na)and oxygen(O)co-doped carbon nitride(Na/O-CN_(x),x=1.0,2.0,3.0,4.0)was synthesized via solid-phase reaction of sodium citrate(NaCA)and pure CN powder in the Teflon-sealed autoclave under air conditions at 180℃.Surface area of Na/O-CN_(3.0) is measured to be 18.8 m^(2)/g,increasing by 60.7%compared to that of pure CN(11.7 m^(2)/g).Bandgap energy of Na/O-CN_(3.0) is determined to be 2.68 eV,marginally lower than that of pure CN(2.70 eV),thereby enhancing its capacity for sunlight absorption.Meanwhile,the incorporation of Na and O atoms into Na/O-CN_(x) is found to effectively reduce recombination rates of photogenerated electron-hole pairs.As a result,Na/O-CN_(x) samples exhibit markedly enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity under visible light irradiation.Notably,the optimal Na/O-CN_(3.0) sample achieves a photocatalytic hydrogen production rate of 103.2μmol·g^(–1)·h^(–1),which is 8.2 times greater than that of pure CN(11.2μmol·g^(–1)·h^(–1)).Furthermore,a series of Na/O-CN_(x)-yO_(2)(y=0,20%,40%,60%,80%,100%)samples were prepared by modulating the oxygen content within reaction atmosphere.The catalytic performance evaluations reveal that the incorporation of both Na and O atoms in Na/O-CN_(3.0) enhances photocatalytic activity.This study also introduces novel methodologies for synthesis of metal atom-doped CN materials at lower temperature,highlighting the synergistic effect of Na and O atoms in photocatalytic hydrogen production of Na/O-CN_(x) samples. 展开更多

When performing tasks,unmanned clusters often face a variety of strategy choices.One of the key issues in unmanned cluster tasks is the method through which to design autonomous collaboration and cooperative evolution mechanisms that allow for unmanned clusters to maximize their overall task effective-ness under the condition of strategic diversity.This paper ana-lyzes these task requirements from three perspectives:the diver-sity of the decision space,information network construction,and the autonomous collaboration mechanism.Then,this paper pro-poses a method for solving the problem of strategy selection diversity under two network structures.Next,this paper presents a Moran-rule-based evolution dynamics model for unmanned cluster strategies and a vision-driven-mechanism-based evolu-tion dynamics model for unmanned cluster strategy in the con-text of strategy selection diversity according to various unmanned cluster application scenarios.Finally,this paper pro-vides a simulation analysis of the effects of relevant parameters such as the payoff factor and cluster size on cooperative evolu-tion in autonomous cluster collaboration for the two types of models.On this basis,this paper presents advice for effectively addressing diverse choices in unmanned cluster tasks,thereby providing decision support for practical applications of unmanned cluster tasks. 展开更多

In this study,a series of triaxial tests are conducted on sandstone specimens to investigate the evolution of their mechanics and permeability characteristics under the combined action of immersion corrosion and seepage of different chemical solutions.It is observed that with the increase of confining pressure,the peak stress,dilatancy stress,dilatancy stress ratio,peak strain,and elastic modulus of the sandstone increase while the Poisson ratio decreases and less secondary cracks are produced when the samples are broken.The pore pressure and confining pressure have opposite influences on the mechanical properties.With the increase of the applied axial stress,three stages are clearly identified in the permeability evolution curves:initial compaction stage,linear elasticity stage and plastic deformation stage.The permeability reaches the maximum value when the highest volumetric dilatancy is obtained.In addition,the hydrochemical action of salt solution with pH=7 and 4 has an obvious deteriorating effect on the mechanical properties and induces the increase of permeability.The obtained results will be useful in engineering to understand the mechanical and seepage properties of sandstone under the coupled chemical-seepage-stress multiple fields. 展开更多

The cemented-gangue-fly-ash backfill(CGFB)prepared from coal-based solid waste materials commonly exhibits high brittleness,leading to an increased susceptibility to cracking.Uniaxial compressive strength(UCS),acoustic emission(AE),and scanning electron microscopy tests were conducted on CGFB samples with recycled steel fiber(RSF)contents of 0,0.5%,1.0%and 1.5%to assess the mechanical properties and damage evolution law of the CGFB.The research findings indicate that:1)When RSF contents were 0.5%,1%,and 1.5%,respectively,compared to samples without RSF,the UCS decreased by 3.86%,6.76%,and 15.59%,while toughness increased by 69%,98%,and 123%;2)The addition of RSFs reduced the post-peak stress energy activity and increased the fluctuations in the b-value;3)As the RSF dosage increased from 0 to 1.5%,the per unit dissipated strain energy increased from 5.84 to 21.51,and the post-peak released energy increased from 15.07 to 33.76,indicating that the external energy required for the CGFB sample to fail increased;4)The hydration products,such as C-S-H gel,ettringite,and micro-particle materials,were embedded in the damaged areas of the RSFs,increasing the frictional force at the interface between the RSF and CGFB matrix.The shape variability of the RSFs caused interlocking between the RSFs and the matrix.Both mechanisms strengthened the bridging effect of the RSFs in the CGFB,thereby improving the damage resistance capability of CGFB.The excellent damage resistance occurred at an RSF content of 0.5%;thus,this content is recommended for engineering applications. 展开更多

To determine the optimal or near optimal parameters of PID controller with incomplete derivation, a novel design method based on differential evolution (DE) algorithm is presented. The controller is called DE-PID controller. To overcome the disadvantages of the integral performance criteria in the frequency domain such as IAE, ISE, and ITSE, a new performance criterion in the time domain is proposed. The optimization procedures employing the DE algorithm to search the optimal or near optimal PID controller parameters of a control system are demonstrated in detail. Three typical control systems are chosen to test and evaluate the adaptation and robustness of the proposed DE-PID controller. The simulation results show that the proposed approach has superior features of easy implementation, stable convergence characteristic, and good computational efficiency. Compared with the ZN, GA, and ASA, the proposed design method is indeed more efficient and robust in improving the step response of a control system. 展开更多

In order to solve reliability-redundancy allocation problems more effectively, a new hybrid algorithm named CDEPSO is proposed in this work, which combines particle swarm optimization (PSO) with differential evolution (DE) and a new chaotic local search. In the CDEPSO algorithm, DE provides its best solution to PSO if the best solution obtained by DE is better than that by PSO, while the best solution in the PSO is performed by chaotic local search. To investigate the performance of CDEPSO, four typical reliability-redundancy allocation problems were solved and the results indicate that the convergence speed and robustness of CDEPSO is better than those of PSO and CPSO (a hybrid algorithm which only combines PSO with chaotic local search). And, compared with the other six improved meta-heuristics, CDEPSO also exhibits more robust performance. In addition, a new performance was proposed to more fairly compare CDEPSO with the same six improved recta-heuristics, and CDEPSO algorithm is the best in solving these problems. 展开更多

Accurate assessment of coal brittleness is crucial in the design of coal seam drilling and underground coal mining operations.This study proposes a method for evaluating the brittleness of gas-bearing coal based on a statistical damage constitutive model and energy evolution mechanisms.Initially,integrating the principle of effective stress and the Hoek-Brown criterion,a statistical damage constitutive model for gas-bearing coal is established and validated through triaxial compression tests under different gas pressures to verify its accuracy and applicability.Subsequently,employing energy evolution mechanism,two energy characteristic parameters(elastic energy proportion and dissipated energy proportion)are analyzed.Based on the damage stress thresholds,the damage evolution characteristics of gas bearing coal were explored.Finally,by integrating energy characteristic parameters with damage parameters,a novel brittleness index is proposed.The results demonstrate that the theoretical curves derived from the statistical damage constitutive model closely align with the test curves,accurately reflecting the stress−strain characteristics of gas-bearing coal and revealing the stress drop and softening characteristics of coal in the post-peak stage.The shape parameter and scale parameter represent the brittleness and macroscopic strength of the coal,respectively.As gas pressure increases from 1 to 5 MPa,the shape parameter and the scale parameter decrease by 22.18%and 60.45%,respectively,indicating a reduction in both brittleness and strength of the coal.Parameters such as maximum damage rate and peak elastic energy storage limit positively correlate with coal brittleness.The brittleness index effectively captures the brittleness characteristics and reveals a decrease in brittleness and an increase in sensitivity to plastic deformation under higher gas pressure conditions. 展开更多

To solve dynamic optimization problem of chemical process (CPDOP), a hybrid differential evolution algorithm, which is integrated with Alopex and named as Alopex-DE, was proposed. In Alopex-DE, each original individual has its own symbiotic individual, which consists of control parameters. Differential evolution operator is applied for the original individuals to search the global optimization solution. Alopex algorithm is used to co-evolve the symbiotic individuals during the original individual evolution and enhance the fitness of the original individuals. Thus, control parameters are self-adaptively adjusted by Alopex to obtain the real-time optimum values for the original population. To illustrate the whole performance of Alopex-DE, several varietal DEs were applied to optimize 13 benchmark functions. The results show that the whole performance of Alopex-DE is the best. Further, Alopex-DE was applied to solve 4 typical CPDOPs, and the effect of the discrete time degree on the optimization solution was analyzed. The satisfactory result is obtained. 展开更多

When the maneuverability of a pursuer is not significantly higher than that of an evader,it will be difficult to intercept the evader with only one pursuer.Therefore,this article adopts a two-to-one differential game strategy,the game of kind is generally considered to be angle-optimized,which allows unlimited turns,but these practices do not take into account the effect of acceleration,which does not correspond to the actual situation,thus,based on the angle-optimized,the acceleration optimization and the acceleration upper bound constraint are added into the game for consideration.A two-to-one differential game problem is proposed in the three-dimensional space,and an improved multi-objective grey wolf optimization(IMOGWO)algorithm is proposed to solve the optimal game point of this problem.With the equations that describe the relative motions between the pursuers and the evader in the three-dimensional space,a multi-objective function with constraints is given as the performance index to design an optimal strategy for the differential game.Then the optimal game point is solved by using the IMOGWO algorithm.It is proved based on Markov chains that with the IMOGWO,the Pareto solution set is the solution of the differential game.Finally,it is verified through simulations that the pursuers can capture the escapee,and via comparative experiments,it is shown that the IMOGWO algorithm performs well in terms of running time and memory usage. 展开更多

An improved differential evolution(IDE)algorithm that adopts a novel mutation strategy to speed up the convergence rate is introduced to solve the resource-constrained project scheduling problem(RCPSP)with the objective of minimizing project duration Activities priorities for scheduling are represented by individual vectors and a senal scheme is utilized to transform the individual-represented priorities to a feasible schedule according to the precedence and resource constraints so as to be evaluated.To investigate the performance of the IDE-based approach for the RCPSP,it is compared against the meta-heuristic methods of hybrid genetic algorithm(HGA),particle swarm optimization(PSO) and several well selected heuristics.The results show that the proposed scheduling method is better than general heuristic rules and is able to obtain the same optimal result as the HGA and PSO approaches but more efficient than the two algorithms. 展开更多

A modified harmony search algorithm with co-evolutional control parameters(DEHS), applied through differential evolution optimization, is proposed. In DEHS, two control parameters, i.e., harmony memory considering rate and pitch adjusting rate, are encoded as a symbiotic individual of an original individual(i.e., harmony vector). Harmony search operators are applied to evolving the original population. DE is applied to co-evolving the symbiotic population based on feedback information from the original population. Thus, with the evolution of the original population in DEHS, the symbiotic population is dynamically and self-adaptively adjusted, and real-time optimum control parameters are obtained. The proposed DEHS algorithm has been applied to various benchmark functions and two typical dynamic optimization problems. The experimental results show that the performance of the proposed algorithm is better than that of other HS variants. Satisfactory results are obtained in the application. 展开更多
