In this study, the kinetic response model of the protective structure under single-pulse and continuous double-pulse impact is established,and a continuous double-pulse high overload impact test impact platform based on the sleeve-type bullet is constructed, and the protective performance of the multi-layer structure under multi-pulse is analyzed based on the acceleration decay ratio, and the results show that the protective performance of the structure has a positive correlation with its thickness, and it is not sensitive to the change of the load of the first impact;the first impact under double-pulse impact will cause damage to the microstructure through the superposition of the second impact. The first impact under double-pulse impact will cause an increase in the overload amplitude of the second impact through superposition;compared with the single-layer structure, the acceleration attenuation ratio of the double-layer structure can be increased by up to 26.13%, among which the epoxy-polyurethane combination has the best protection performance, with an acceleration attenuation ratio of up to 44.68%. This work provides a robust theoretical foundation and experimental basis for the reliable operation of MEMS devices, as well as for the design of protective structures in extreme environments.展开更多

The conventional PID control strategy incorporated with optimization GA was put forward to maintain the optimum drying temperature in order to keep the moisture content below 1%, whose adaptation ability included the cost function of optimization GA according to the output change. Simulations on five different industrial process models and practical temperature process control system for selenium-enriched slag drying intensively by using IMDRDWM were carried out systematically, indicating the reliability and effectiveness of control design. The parameters of proposed control design are all on-line implemented without iterative predictive calculations, and the closed-loop system stability is guaranteed, which makes the developed scheme simpler in its synthesis and application, providing the practical guidelines for the control implementation and the parameter design.展开更多
The study of oxide heteroepitaxy has been hindered by the issues of misfit strain and substrate clamping,which impede both the optimization of performance and the acquisition of a fundamental understanding of oxide sy...The study of oxide heteroepitaxy has been hindered by the issues of misfit strain and substrate clamping,which impede both the optimization of performance and the acquisition of a fundamental understanding of oxide systems.Recently,however,the development of freestanding oxide membranes has provided a plausible solution to these substrate limitations.Single-crystalline functional oxide films can be released from their substrates without incurring significant damage and can subsequently be transferred to any substrate of choice.This paper discusses recent advancements in the fabrication,adjustable physical properties,and various applications of freestanding oxide perovskite films.First,we present the primary strategies employed for the synthesis and transfer of these freestanding perovskite thin films.Second,we explore the main functionalities observed in freestanding perovskite oxide thin films,with special attention to the tunable functionalities and physical properties of these freestanding perovskite membranes under varying strain states.Next,we encapsulate three representative devices based on freestanding oxide films.Overall,this review highlights the potential of freestanding oxide films for the study of novel functionalities and flexible electronics.展开更多
To know about the radiation effects on the super large array 9 k×9 k CCDs used in a space telescope induced by energetic protons,the experiments of the super large array 9 k×9 k charge coupled devices(CCDs)u...To know about the radiation effects on the super large array 9 k×9 k CCDs used in a space telescope induced by energetic protons,the experiments of the super large array 9 k×9 k charge coupled devices(CCDs)used in the space telescope irradiated by 60 MeV and 100 MeV protons are presented.The samples were exposed by 60 MeV and 100 MeV protons at fluences of 5×10^(9)/cm^(2) and 1×10^(10)/cm^(2),respectively.The degradations of the main performance parameters of the super large array CCDs which are paid special attention to the space telescope are investigated.The full well capacity,mean dark current,and the charge transfer inefficiency(CTI)versus proton fluence are presented,which are tested at very low temperature of-85℃.The annealing tests of 168 h were carried out after proton irradiation.The dark images before and after proton irradiation are also presented to compare the image degradation.The degradation mechanisms of the super large array CCDs irradiated by protons are analyzed.The experimental results show that the main performance parameters of the CCDs are degraded after 60 MeV and 100 MeV protons and the degradations induced by 60 MeV protons are larger than that induced by 100 MeV protons.The experimental results of the super large array CCDs irradiated by protons will provide the basic test data support for orbit life assessment of the space telescope.展开更多
Among the synthesis techniques for graphene,chemical vapor deposition(CVD)enables the direct growth of graphene films on insulating substrates.Its advantages include uniform coverage,high quality,scalability,and compa...Among the synthesis techniques for graphene,chemical vapor deposition(CVD)enables the direct growth of graphene films on insulating substrates.Its advantages include uniform coverage,high quality,scalability,and compatibility with industrial processes.Graphene is chemically inert and has a zero-bandgap which poses a problem for its use as a functional layer,and nitrogen doping has become an important way to overcome this.Post-plasma treatment has been explored for the synthesis of nitrogen-doped graphene,but the procedures are intricate and not suitable for large-scale production.We report the direct synthesis of nitrogen-doped graphene on a 4-inch sapphire wafer by ethanol-assisted CVD employing pyridine as the carbon feedstock,where the nitrogen comes from the pyridine and the hydroxyl group in ethanol improves the quality of the graphene produced.Additionally,the types of nitrogen dopant produced and their effects on III-nitride epitaxy were also investigated,resulting in the successful illumination of LED devices.This work presents an effective synthesis strategy for the preparation of nitrogen-doped graphene,and provides a foundation for designing graphene functional layers in optoelectronic devices.展开更多

Improving vehicle fuel consumption,performance and aerodynamic efficiency by drag reduction especially in heavy vehicles is one of the indispensable issues of automotive industry.In this work,the effects of adding app...Improving vehicle fuel consumption,performance and aerodynamic efficiency by drag reduction especially in heavy vehicles is one of the indispensable issues of automotive industry.In this work,the effects of adding append devices like deflector and cab vane corner on heavy commercial vehicle drag reduction were investigated.For this purpose,the vehicle body structure was modeled with various supplementary parts at the first stage.Then,computational fluid dynamic(CFD) analysis was utilized for each case to enhance the optimal aerodynamic structure at different longitudinal speeds for heavy commercial vehicles.The results show that the most effective supplementary part is deflector,and by adding this part,the drag coefficient is decreased considerably at an optimum angle.By adding two cab vane corners at both frontal edges of cab,a significant drag reduction is noticed.Back vanes and base flaps are simple plates which can be added at the top and side end of container and at the bottom with specific angle respectively to direct the flow and prevent the turbulence.Through the analysis of airflow and pressure distribution,the results reveal that the cab vane reduces fuel consumption and drag coefficient by up to 20 % receptively using proper deflector angle.Finally,by adding all supplementary parts at their optimized positions,41% drag reduction is obtained compared to the simple model.展开更多
Long-time driving and monotonous visual environment increase the safety risk of driving in an extra-long tunnel.Driving fatigue can be effectively relieved by setting the visual fatigue relief zone in the tunnel.Howev...Long-time driving and monotonous visual environment increase the safety risk of driving in an extra-long tunnel.Driving fatigue can be effectively relieved by setting the visual fatigue relief zone in the tunnel.However,the setting form of visual fatigue relief zone,such as its length and location,is difficult to be designed and quantified.By integrating virtual reality(VR)apparatus with wearable electroencephalogram(EEG)-based devices,a hybrid method was proposed in this study to assist analyzers to formulate the layout of visual fatigue relief zone in the extra-long tunnel.The virtual environment of this study was based on an 11.5 km extra-long tunnel located in Yunnan Province in China.The results indicated that the use of natural landscape decoration inside the tunnel could improve driving fatigue with the growth rate of attention of the driver increased by more than 20%.The accumulation of driving fatigue had a negative effect on the fatigue relief.The results demonstrated that the optimal location of the fatigue relief zone was at the place where driving fatigue had just occurred rather than at the place where a certain amount of driving fatigue had accumulated.展开更多
To reduce the longitudinal coupler forces of heavy haul trains and improve the running safety, the velocity method and New-mark method were used for the coupler simulation and numerical integration, and a numerical mo...To reduce the longitudinal coupler forces of heavy haul trains and improve the running safety, the velocity method and New-mark method were used for the coupler simulation and numerical integration, and a numerical model on the longitudinal dynamics of heavy haul trains was established. Validation was performed against the experimental data. Using this model, the emergency braking process for a combined marshalling heavy haul train was investigated to obtain the distributions of the longitudinal compressive forces and strokes of coupler devices. Then, the influences of the initial braking velocity, the synchronization time of master and slave locomotives, the coupler stiffness and the vibrator mass on the longitudinal forces and strokes were analyzed. The results show that it should be avoided that the emergency braking starts at a low initial speed. Keeping synchronism between master locomotive and slave locomotives effectively helps to reduce the longitudinal forces. Reducing the coupler stiffness appropriately and adding rigid arm connections, the longitudinal vibration frequency can be brought down and the longitudinal forces will be decreased, which improves the running safety of heavy haul trains. All of these research results can provide a reference for the operation and development of heavy haul trains.展开更多

However, most networ...Device to device(D2 D) multi-hop communication in multicast networks solves the contradiction between high speed requirements and limited bandwidth in regional data sharing communication services. However, most networking models demand a large control overhead in eNodeB. Moreover, the topology should be calculated again due to the mobility of terminals, which causes the long delay. In this work, we model multicast network construction in D2 D communication through a fuzzy mathematics and game theory based algorithm. In resource allocation, we assume that user equipment(UE) can detect the available frequency and the fuzzy mathematics is introduced to describe an uncertain relationship between the resource and UE distributedly, which diminishes the time delay. For forming structure, a distributed myopic best response dynamics formation algorithm derived from a novel concept from the coalitional game theory is proposed, in which every UE can self-organize into stable structure without the control from eNodeB to improve its utilities in terms of rate and bit error rate(BER) while accounting for a link maintenance cost, and adapt this topology to environmental changes such as mobility while converging to a Nash equilibrium fast. Simulation results show that the proposed architecture converges to a tree network quickly and presents significant gains in terms of average rate utility reaching up to 50% compared to the star topology where all of the UE is directly connected to eNodeB.展开更多

To achieve both functionality and ...As an essential component of ammunition, pyrotechnics can control ignition with high reliability.However, due to limits of fabrication technology, traditional pyrotechnics are bulky. To achieve both functionality and miniaturization, MEMS pyrotechnics integrate initiator, safety-and-arming(S&A) device and lead charge and keep all components within a small size. MEMS S&A devices, as the core component to ensure system safety, are difficult to achieve active and rapid response to control signals with high safety and reliability. In order to overcome the difficulty, we propose the design and characterization of a MEMS pyrotechnic with a double-layer barrier S&A device. The MEMS pyrotechnic is a high-integrated device with an overall size of 13.4 × 8.5 × 5.2 mm^(3). The initiator is a Ni Cr bridge foil covered with an Al/Cu O energetic film, which can generate flame when ignited by an excitation voltage.To match the flame energy, lead styphnate is chosen in this study as the lead charge. The S&A device contains four semi-circular barriers, which are directly driven by V-shape electro-thermal actuators to gain active control of the pyrotechnics’ ignition condition with rapid response. To improve the system’s reliability, the four barriers are axisymmetrically placed in two layers, two barriers for each layer, to constitute a double-layer structure with a thickness of 100 μm. The ignition test results show that the S&A device can prevent the initiator from detonating the lead charge in safety condition. In arming condition, the lead charge will be detonated.展开更多

The configuration proposed was further studied to derive the empirical relationship for effect of fragment size,charge size, confinement thickness on fragment velocity. The simulations were carried out using ANSYSAUTODYNE explicit solver. Fragment velocities were estimated as a function of different parametric combinations of explosive quantities, charge length to diameter ratio, fragment height to diameter ratio,confinement thickness, fragment material and fragment mass. The data was further converted to charge to metal ratio under fragment and confinement. It was observed that, increase in confinement thickness,charge quantity and decrease in fragment height increases the fragment velocity. It is also noted that,charge to metal mass ratio under fragment significantly affects the fragment velocity. At the end, an empirical relationship for fragment velocity interms of all these parameters was established. Using these relations, two velocities 1831.92 m/s and 2523.9 m/s required for NATO STANAG 4496 IM test were estimated. The design parameters for these velocities are presented. Also, the results estimated using the empirical relationship has been compared with published experimental data. Error in the predicted velocities is within the acceptable range. The empirical relationship proposed will be useful for finalization of design of the fragment launch device.展开更多

However, low electrocaloric strength in nanocomposite dielectric is severely restricting its wide-spread application because of high applied operating voltage to improve electrocaloric effect. After addressing the chosen optimized ferroelectric ceramic and ferroelectric polymer matrix in conjunction with the analysis of crucial parameters, recent progress of electrocaloric effect(ECE) in polymer nanocomposites has been considerably reviewed. Subsequently, prior to proposing the conceptual design and devices/systems in electrocaloric nanocomposites, the existing developed devices/systems are reviewed. Finally, conclusions and prospects are conducted, including the aspects of materials chosen, structural design and key issues to be considered in improving electrocaloric effect of polymer nanocomposite dielectrics for flexible solidstate cooling devices.展开更多

In this system, location of number-plate and recognition of characters in number-plate can be automatically completed. Pixel colors of Number-plate area are classified using neural network, then color features are extracted by analyzing scanning lines of the cross-section of number-plate. It takes full use of number-plate color features to locate number-plate. Characters in number-plate can be effectively recognized using the neural networks. Experimental results show that the correct rate of number-plate location is close to 100%, and the time of number-plate location is less than 1 second. Moreover, recognition rate of characters is improved due to the known number-plate type. It is also observed that this system is not sensitive to variations of weather, illumination and vehicle speed. In addition, and also the size of number-plate need not to be known in prior. This system is of crucial significance to apply and spread the automatic system of vehicle number-plate recognition.展开更多
Objective The trial was designed to evaluate the safety and performance of the ev3 Protégé TM stent in the treatment of de novo or re-stenotic common and/or internal carotid artery stenoses with adjunctive u...Objective The trial was designed to evaluate the safety and performance of the ev3 Protégé TM stent in the treatment of de novo or re-stenotic common and/or internal carotid artery stenoses with adjunctive use of a CE-marked filter embolic protection device.Methods This study was a prospective multi-center, single-arm trial. Between June and October 2003, 77 patients were enrolled in 8 investigational centers throughout Europe. The primary endpoint was the incidence of Major Neurological Events (MANE) through one month. Other endpoints were the ability to properly place the stent, and primary patency and MANE after six months. Eligible for the study were patients with a de novo or restenotic target lesion located in the common and/or internal carotid artery (>70% stenosis for asymptomatic and >50% stenosis for symptomatic patients). The ev3 Spider (Embolic Protection Filter was used in 75 of 77 cases. Results In 76 out of the 77 patients (99%), the stent could be successfully implanted with a residual stenosis ≤30% as criterion. Of the 74 patients that had a carotid ultrasound at one month follow-up, none had a re-stenosis of the target lesion. There were three MANEs during or immediately after the procedure (3.9%), two were major and one was a minor stroke. There were eight severe complications (9.1%); six of these happened during or immediately after the procedure and were related to the procedure, none was related to the device. They are resolved without sequelae. No deaths have occurred.Conclusions The Protégé stent is safe and performs well in the treatment of carotid artery stenosis. The technical success rate for placement of the Protégé stent as assessed by the residual stenosis post implant was very high and all stents were successfully deployed. The incidence of MANE was comparable with that in other recent carotid stent studies and still lower than standard CEA.展开更多

文摘Among the synthesis techniques for graphene,chemical vapor deposition(CVD)enables the direct growth of graphene films on insulating substrates.Its advantages include uniform coverage,high quality,scalability,and compatibility with industrial processes.Graphene is chemically inert and has a zero-bandgap which poses a problem for its use as a functional layer,and nitrogen doping has become an important way to overcome this.Post-plasma treatment has been explored for the synthesis of nitrogen-doped graphene,but the procedures are intricate and not suitable for large-scale production.We report the direct synthesis of nitrogen-doped graphene on a 4-inch sapphire wafer by ethanol-assisted CVD employing pyridine as the carbon feedstock,where the nitrogen comes from the pyridine and the hydroxyl group in ethanol improves the quality of the graphene produced.Additionally,the types of nitrogen dopant produced and their effects on III-nitride epitaxy were also investigated,resulting in the successful illumination of LED devices.This work presents an effective synthesis strategy for the preparation of nitrogen-doped graphene,and provides a foundation for designing graphene functional layers in optoelectronic devices.

文摘Improving vehicle fuel consumption,performance and aerodynamic efficiency by drag reduction especially in heavy vehicles is one of the indispensable issues of automotive industry.In this work,the effects of adding append devices like deflector and cab vane corner on heavy commercial vehicle drag reduction were investigated.For this purpose,the vehicle body structure was modeled with various supplementary parts at the first stage.Then,computational fluid dynamic(CFD) analysis was utilized for each case to enhance the optimal aerodynamic structure at different longitudinal speeds for heavy commercial vehicles.The results show that the most effective supplementary part is deflector,and by adding this part,the drag coefficient is decreased considerably at an optimum angle.By adding two cab vane corners at both frontal edges of cab,a significant drag reduction is noticed.Back vanes and base flaps are simple plates which can be added at the top and side end of container and at the bottom with specific angle respectively to direct the flow and prevent the turbulence.Through the analysis of airflow and pressure distribution,the results reveal that the cab vane reduces fuel consumption and drag coefficient by up to 20 % receptively using proper deflector angle.Finally,by adding all supplementary parts at their optimized positions,41% drag reduction is obtained compared to the simple model.

文摘Long-time driving and monotonous visual environment increase the safety risk of driving in an extra-long tunnel.Driving fatigue can be effectively relieved by setting the visual fatigue relief zone in the tunnel.However,the setting form of visual fatigue relief zone,such as its length and location,is difficult to be designed and quantified.By integrating virtual reality(VR)apparatus with wearable electroencephalogram(EEG)-based devices,a hybrid method was proposed in this study to assist analyzers to formulate the layout of visual fatigue relief zone in the extra-long tunnel.The virtual environment of this study was based on an 11.5 km extra-long tunnel located in Yunnan Province in China.The results indicated that the use of natural landscape decoration inside the tunnel could improve driving fatigue with the growth rate of attention of the driver increased by more than 20%.The accumulation of driving fatigue had a negative effect on the fatigue relief.The results demonstrated that the optimal location of the fatigue relief zone was at the place where driving fatigue had just occurred rather than at the place where a certain amount of driving fatigue had accumulated.

文摘To reduce the longitudinal coupler forces of heavy haul trains and improve the running safety, the velocity method and New-mark method were used for the coupler simulation and numerical integration, and a numerical model on the longitudinal dynamics of heavy haul trains was established. Validation was performed against the experimental data. Using this model, the emergency braking process for a combined marshalling heavy haul train was investigated to obtain the distributions of the longitudinal compressive forces and strokes of coupler devices. Then, the influences of the initial braking velocity, the synchronization time of master and slave locomotives, the coupler stiffness and the vibrator mass on the longitudinal forces and strokes were analyzed. The results show that it should be avoided that the emergency braking starts at a low initial speed. Keeping synchronism between master locomotive and slave locomotives effectively helps to reduce the longitudinal forces. Reducing the coupler stiffness appropriately and adding rigid arm connections, the longitudinal vibration frequency can be brought down and the longitudinal forces will be decreased, which improves the running safety of heavy haul trains. All of these research results can provide a reference for the operation and development of heavy haul trains.

文摘Device to device(D2 D) multi-hop communication in multicast networks solves the contradiction between high speed requirements and limited bandwidth in regional data sharing communication services. However, most networking models demand a large control overhead in eNodeB. Moreover, the topology should be calculated again due to the mobility of terminals, which causes the long delay. In this work, we model multicast network construction in D2 D communication through a fuzzy mathematics and game theory based algorithm. In resource allocation, we assume that user equipment(UE) can detect the available frequency and the fuzzy mathematics is introduced to describe an uncertain relationship between the resource and UE distributedly, which diminishes the time delay. For forming structure, a distributed myopic best response dynamics formation algorithm derived from a novel concept from the coalitional game theory is proposed, in which every UE can self-organize into stable structure without the control from eNodeB to improve its utilities in terms of rate and bit error rate(BER) while accounting for a link maintenance cost, and adapt this topology to environmental changes such as mobility while converging to a Nash equilibrium fast. Simulation results show that the proposed architecture converges to a tree network quickly and presents significant gains in terms of average rate utility reaching up to 50% compared to the star topology where all of the UE is directly connected to eNodeB.

文摘A new tamping device which is driven by an electrohydraulic exciter was proposed to overcome the limitations of mechanically driven devices.The double-rod oscillation cylinder drives the tamping arm to realize vibration.A new spin valve was designed in order to fulfill dynamic state requirements of the oscillation cylinder.Parametric analysis was carried out by establishing mathematic model.Then,the relationships among the structure of valve port and the frequency,amplitude,output shock force of the cylinder were researched.An experimental device of the electrohydraulic exciter was established to validate the theoretical results.The signals were acquired by AVANT dynamic signal analyser of vibration.The results show that new tamping device can satisfy all kinds of complex working conditions with the flexible adjustment of frequency and amplitude.

文摘As an essential component of ammunition, pyrotechnics can control ignition with high reliability.However, due to limits of fabrication technology, traditional pyrotechnics are bulky. To achieve both functionality and miniaturization, MEMS pyrotechnics integrate initiator, safety-and-arming(S&A) device and lead charge and keep all components within a small size. MEMS S&A devices, as the core component to ensure system safety, are difficult to achieve active and rapid response to control signals with high safety and reliability. In order to overcome the difficulty, we propose the design and characterization of a MEMS pyrotechnic with a double-layer barrier S&A device. The MEMS pyrotechnic is a high-integrated device with an overall size of 13.4 × 8.5 × 5.2 mm^(3). The initiator is a Ni Cr bridge foil covered with an Al/Cu O energetic film, which can generate flame when ignited by an excitation voltage.To match the flame energy, lead styphnate is chosen in this study as the lead charge. The S&A device contains four semi-circular barriers, which are directly driven by V-shape electro-thermal actuators to gain active control of the pyrotechnics’ ignition condition with rapid response. To improve the system’s reliability, the four barriers are axisymmetrically placed in two layers, two barriers for each layer, to constitute a double-layer structure with a thickness of 100 μm. The ignition test results show that the S&A device can prevent the initiator from detonating the lead charge in safety condition. In arming condition, the lead charge will be detonated.

文摘MEMS Safety-and-Arming(S&A)device is the new generation of S&A device which integrates the mechanism of actuation and barrier.The features of minimized structure and easy integration make it to be the indispensable support to the development of weapon miniaturization,integration and intelligence.As a key component in the new generation weapon system,the sound development of MEMS S&A devices will have a significant impact on the future national defense system.Herein,the research status and development trend of MEMS S&A devices are introduced in this paper.From literature review on various MEMS S&A devices,it can be seen that the researches have evolved from individual components to system integration,and many prototypes have the potential for live-fire testing.Different driven principles and structures of the MEMS S&A devices are compared and summarized.At present,the MEMS S&A device can realize the mutual integration of the driving mechanism and the blocking mechanism on the micron level.In the future,with the establishment of new design criteria,MEMS S&A devices will develop from prototypes to practical applications,which will further promote the integration and intelligent of weapon systems.

文摘In this article, parametric study of single confined fragment launch device was carried out. The configuration proposed was further studied to derive the empirical relationship for effect of fragment size,charge size, confinement thickness on fragment velocity. The simulations were carried out using ANSYSAUTODYNE explicit solver. Fragment velocities were estimated as a function of different parametric combinations of explosive quantities, charge length to diameter ratio, fragment height to diameter ratio,confinement thickness, fragment material and fragment mass. The data was further converted to charge to metal ratio under fragment and confinement. It was observed that, increase in confinement thickness,charge quantity and decrease in fragment height increases the fragment velocity. It is also noted that,charge to metal mass ratio under fragment significantly affects the fragment velocity. At the end, an empirical relationship for fragment velocity interms of all these parameters was established. Using these relations, two velocities 1831.92 m/s and 2523.9 m/s required for NATO STANAG 4496 IM test were estimated. The design parameters for these velocities are presented. Also, the results estimated using the empirical relationship has been compared with published experimental data. Error in the predicted velocities is within the acceptable range. The empirical relationship proposed will be useful for finalization of design of the fragment launch device.

文摘Nanocomposite dielectrics show great promising application in developing next generation wearable all-solidstate cooling devices owing to the possessed advantages of high cooling efficiency, light-weight and small volume without the induced greenhouse effect or serious harm to ozone layer in the exploited refrigerants. However, low electrocaloric strength in nanocomposite dielectric is severely restricting its wide-spread application because of high applied operating voltage to improve electrocaloric effect. After addressing the chosen optimized ferroelectric ceramic and ferroelectric polymer matrix in conjunction with the analysis of crucial parameters, recent progress of electrocaloric effect(ECE) in polymer nanocomposites has been considerably reviewed. Subsequently, prior to proposing the conceptual design and devices/systems in electrocaloric nanocomposites, the existing developed devices/systems are reviewed. Finally, conclusions and prospects are conducted, including the aspects of materials chosen, structural design and key issues to be considered in improving electrocaloric effect of polymer nanocomposite dielectrics for flexible solidstate cooling devices.

文摘This paper presents an automatic system of vehicle number-plate recognition based on neural networks. In this system, location of number-plate and recognition of characters in number-plate can be automatically completed. Pixel colors of Number-plate area are classified using neural network, then color features are extracted by analyzing scanning lines of the cross-section of number-plate. It takes full use of number-plate color features to locate number-plate. Characters in number-plate can be effectively recognized using the neural networks. Experimental results show that the correct rate of number-plate location is close to 100%, and the time of number-plate location is less than 1 second. Moreover, recognition rate of characters is improved due to the known number-plate type. It is also observed that this system is not sensitive to variations of weather, illumination and vehicle speed. In addition, and also the size of number-plate need not to be known in prior. This system is of crucial significance to apply and spread the automatic system of vehicle number-plate recognition.
文摘Objective The trial was designed to evaluate the safety and performance of the ev3 Protégé TM stent in the treatment of de novo or re-stenotic common and/or internal carotid artery stenoses with adjunctive use of a CE-marked filter embolic protection device.Methods This study was a prospective multi-center, single-arm trial. Between June and October 2003, 77 patients were enrolled in 8 investigational centers throughout Europe. The primary endpoint was the incidence of Major Neurological Events (MANE) through one month. Other endpoints were the ability to properly place the stent, and primary patency and MANE after six months. Eligible for the study were patients with a de novo or restenotic target lesion located in the common and/or internal carotid artery (>70% stenosis for asymptomatic and >50% stenosis for symptomatic patients). The ev3 Spider (Embolic Protection Filter was used in 75 of 77 cases. Results In 76 out of the 77 patients (99%), the stent could be successfully implanted with a residual stenosis ≤30% as criterion. Of the 74 patients that had a carotid ultrasound at one month follow-up, none had a re-stenosis of the target lesion. There were three MANEs during or immediately after the procedure (3.9%), two were major and one was a minor stroke. There were eight severe complications (9.1%); six of these happened during or immediately after the procedure and were related to the procedure, none was related to the device. They are resolved without sequelae. No deaths have occurred.Conclusions The Protégé stent is safe and performs well in the treatment of carotid artery stenosis. The technical success rate for placement of the Protégé stent as assessed by the residual stenosis post implant was very high and all stents were successfully deployed. The incidence of MANE was comparable with that in other recent carotid stent studies and still lower than standard CEA.
