The annealing time is an important affecting factor in the performance of many furnaces.The present work deals with the transient simulation of annealing process in a cubic furnace in which a solid element is placed in its center.As the working gas can have some radiating features,a set of governing equations including the energy balance with the radiative transfer equation(RTE)for the gray radiating medium and the conduction equation inside the solid product are numerically solved with progressing in time.Numerical results which are validated against both analytical and theoretical findings in the literature demonstrate that during the starting period,a high rate of radiant energy transfers into the solid body even at small optical thickness.This behavior which hastens the rate of heat transfer at low values of the radiation conduction parameter,causes a fast annealing process in which the solid body warms up to its maximum temperature.Moreover,it is revealed that the rate of heat transfer is an increasing function of radiation-conduction parameter. 展开更多

The calculation method of sliding ratios for conjugate-curve gear pair, generated based on the theory of conjugate curves,is proposed. The theoretical model of conjugate-curve gear drive is briefly introduced. The general calculation formulas of sliding ratios are developed according to the conjugate curves. The applications to the circular arc gears based on conjugate curves and the novel involute-helix gears are studied. A comparison on the sliding coefficient with the conventional corresponding gear drive is also carried out. The influences of gear parameters such as spiral parameter, gear ratio and modulus on the sliding ratios of gear drive are discussed. Brief description of manufacturing method for conjugate-curve gear pair is given. The research results show that the sliding ratios of gear pair become smaller with the increase of spiral parameter and gear ratio, respectively. And it will be greater with the increase of modulus for the tooth profiles. The meshing characteristics of conjugate-curve gears are further reflected and the optimization design of tooth profiles with high performance may be obtained. 展开更多

The performance of lactating dairy cows and composition of the fatty acids in milk fat were measured to investigate the effect of parity on conjugated linoleic acid(CLA)in milk fat and△~9-desaturase indices from Holstein dairy cows.Milk samples of two hundred and thirty-five lactating Holstein dairy cows in north China were tested.In order to avoid possible confounding effects of diet and season,Holstein cows were fed a single diet and milk was sampled on the same day.The average content of cis-9,trans-11 CLA was 5.14 mg/g fatty acids in milk fat,varying between 1.5 and 10.5 mg/g fatty acids.The average content of cis-9,trans-11 CLA of primiparous cattle was 5.19 mg/g fatty acids in milk fat,while it was 5.11 mg/g fatty acids in multiparous animals,with no significant difference between them(P】0.05).There was a significant(P【0.05)difference between the△~9-desaturase index of cis-9 C14:l and cis-9 C16:l between primiparous and multiparous cattle but not(P】0.05)in the△~9-desaturase index of cis-9 C18:l and cis-9,trans-11 CLA. 展开更多

This article aims to review the physical and chemical properties of ultra-high temperature heat-resistant energetic compounds and provide valuable theoretical insights for the preparation of ultra-high temperature heatresistant energetic materials. A low-complexity method for direction of arrival(DOA) estimation based on estimation signal parameters via rotational invariance technique(ESPRIT) is proposed.Instead of using the cross-correlation vectors in multistage Wiener filter(MSWF),the orthogonal residual vectors obtained in conjugate gradient(CG) method span the signal subspace used by ESPRIT.The computational complexity of the proposed method is significantly reduced,since the signal subspace estimation mainly needs two matrixvector complex multiplications at the iteration of data level.Furthermore,the prior training data are not needed in the proposed method.To overcome performance degradation at low signal to noise ratio(SNR),the expanded signal subspace spanned by more basis vectors is used and simultaneously renders ESPRIT yield redundant DOAs,which can be excluded by performing ESPRIT once more using the unexpanded signal subspace.Compared with the traditional ESPRIT methods by MSWF and eigenvalue decomposition(EVD),numerical results demonstrate the satisfactory performance of the proposed method. 展开更多

This paper presents an algorithm that aims to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) communication systems while maintaining frequency tracking.The algorithm achieves PAPR reduction by applying the complex conjugates of the data symbol obtained from the frequency domain to cancel the phase of the data symbol.A likelihood estimator is used to obtain the sub-carrier phase error due to the residual carrier frequency offset(RCFO) using the same complex conjugates as a pilot signal.Furthermore,a joint time and frequency domain multicarrier phase locked loop(MPLL) is developed to compensate additional frequency offset.Simulation results show that this algorithm is capable of reducing PAPR without impacting the frequency tracking performance. 展开更多

The performance of adaptive beamforming techniques is limited by the nonhomogeneous clutter scenario. An augmented Krylov subspace method is proposed, which utilizes only a single snapshot of the data for adaptive processing. The novel algorithm puts together a data preprocessor and adaptive Krylov subspace algorithm, where the data preprocessor suppresses discrete interference and the adaptive Krylov subspace algorithm suppresses homogeneous clutter. The novel method uses a single snapshot of the data received by the array antenna to generate a cancellation matrix that does not contain the signal of interest (SOI) component, thus, it mitigates the problem of highly nonstationary clutter environment and it helps to operate in real-time. The benefit of not requiring the training data comes at the cost of a reduced degree of freedom (DOF) of the system. Simulation illustrates the effectiveness in clutter suppression and adaptive beamforming. The numeric results show good agreement with the proposed theorem. 展开更多

The strategies that minimize the overall solution time of multiple linear systems in 3D finite element method (FEM) modeling of direct current (DC) resistivity were discussed. A global stiff matrix is assembled and stored in two parts separately. One part is associated with the volume integral and the other is associated with the subsurface boundary integral. The equivalent multiple linear systems with closer right-hand sides than the original systems were constructed. A recycling Krylov subspace technique was employed to solve the multiple linear systems. The solution of the seed system was used as an initial guess for the subsequent systems. The results of two numerical experiments show that the improved algorithm reduces the iterations and CPU time by almost 50%, compared with the classical preconditioned conjugate gradient method. 展开更多

In order to provide guideline for choosing a suitable tube-wall thickness(d)for the micro-jet methane diffusion flame,the effect of tube-wall thickness on the blow-off limit is investigated via numerical simulation in the present work.The results show that the blow-off limit of micro-jet methane diffusion flame firstly increases and then decreases with the increase of tube-wall thickness.Subsequently,the underlying mechanisms responsible for the above non-monotonic blow-off limit are discussed in terms of the flow filed,strain effect and conjugate heat exchange.The analysis indicates that the flow field is insignificant for the non-monotonic blow-off limit.A smaller strain effect can induce the increase of the blow-off limit fromd=0.1 to 0.2 mm,and a worse heat recirculation effect can induce the decrease of the blow-off limit fromd=0.2 to 0.4 mm.The non-monotonic blow-off limit is mainly determined by the heat loss of flame to the tube-wall and the performance of tube-wall on preheating unburned fuel.The smallest heat loss of flame to the tube-wall and the best performance of tube-wall on preheating unburned fuel result in the largest blow-off limit atd=0.2 mm.Therefore,a moderate tube-wall thickness is more suitable to manufacture the micro-jet burner. 展开更多

A range-spread target(RST)detector is proposed for wideband radar.The detector,referred to as a conjugate multiplication and block thresholding(CMBT)detector,is simple for implementation in existing radar systems and has the advantage of minor calculation.First,the target energy of adjacent stretched echoes is coherently accumulated via conjugate multiplication and Fourier transform operations.It is noted that conjugate multiplication of two complex Gaussian distributed noise is complex double Gaussian distributed,leading to a signal to noise ratio(SNR)loss.Subsequently,considering the sparsity and clustering characteristics of the conjugate multiplication amplitude spectrum(CMAS),the block thresholding method is adopted for denoising,where the noise and cross-terms are adaptively smoothed,and the signal terms can be basically preserved.Finally,numerical simulation results for both synthetic and real radar data validate the effectiveness of the proposed detector,comparing with the conventional integration detector(ID),the spatial scattering density(SSD)detector,and waveform entropy(WE)and waveform contrast(WC)based detectors. 展开更多

Two soluble copolymers of fluorenone and dioctoxylbenzene (PFN) or anthracene (PFNAn) were synthesized through Heck polymerization, and were characterized by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), FT-IR, IH-NMR, elemental analysis and thermogravimetric analysis. The polymers possess good solubility in common organic solvents and high thermal stability with the Onset decomposition temperature at higher than 410 ℃. The photophysical properties of the polymers were investigated in both solutions and spin-coated films. Cyclic voltammetry results revealed that the copolymers possess higher electron affinity and reversible reduction/re-oxidation processes. Their electroluminescent properties were further investigated. PFN and PFNAn show stable and saturated red light emission with high thermal stability and high electron injection ability. This type of conjugated polymers may be promising for the applications as electron acceptors in polymer photovoltaic cells and electron transporting materials. 展开更多

A numerical scheme to obtain the radar cross section (RCS) of scattering bodies of resonant size with serrated structure is described. The RCS is obtained by solving the electric field integral equation (EFIE) using the conjugate gradientfast Fourier transform method (CGFFT). With this combination, the computational time required to solve scattering problems of resonant size bodies is much less than the time required by the ordinary conjugate gradient method and the method of moments. On the other hand, since the spatial derivatives are replaced with simple multilocations in the transformed domain. Some of the computational difficulties present in the ordinary conjugate gradient method and the method of moments do not exist here. The choice of a suitable set of basis and testing functions to discretize the EFIE leads to obtain a very accurate efficient CGFFT procedure.
