Certain elements and compounds when heated to high temperature are able to emit unique wavelengths in the visible region. This study, reports on the development of novel colored flames that cannot be generated by emitting atomic/molecular species. This was achieved by using chromaticity of basic colored flames. Mixing of high quality primary colored flames including Blue, Yellow, and Red in proper ratio was conducted; any interfering incandescent emission resulted from MgO was eliminated using Al metal fuel. The spectral characteristics in terms of luminous intensity, and color quality were evaluated using digital luxmeter and UV-Vis. spectrometer respectively.High quality mixed colored flames include violet, sweet pink, and marigold were developed. This study shaded the light on the state of the art for the real development of novel colored flame compositions and chromaticity of basic colored flames.展开更多

Currently available image defogging methods are mostly suitable for environments with natural light in the daytime, but the clarity of images captured under complex lighting conditions and spatial changes in the presence of fog at night is not satisfactory. This study proposes an algorithm to remove night fog from single images based on an analysis of the statistical characteristics of images in scenes involving night fog. Color channel transfer is designed to compensate for the high attenuation channel of foggy images acquired at night. The distribution of transmittance is estimated by the deep convolutional network DehazeNet, and the spatial variation of atmospheric light is estimated in a point-by-point manner according to the maximum reflection prior to recover the clear image. The results of experiments show that the proposed method can compensate for the high attenuation channel of foggy images at night, remove the effect of glow from a multi-color and non-uniform ambient source of light, and improve the adaptability and visual effect of the removal of night fog from images compared with the conventional method.展开更多

The thermodynamics calculation shows that all the standard Gibbs free energy changes of the reactions to form Na2CrO4, Na2O-Fe2O3, Na2O·Al2O3 and Na2O3 SiO2 via chromite ore and Na2CO3 are negative, and the standard Gibbs free energy changes of the reactions between MgO, Fe2O3 and SiO2 released from chromite spinel to form MgO-Fe2O3 and MgO·SiO2 are also negative at the oxidative roasting temperatures (1 173 1 473 K). The phrase analysis of the sinter in lime-free roasting process shows that Na2O·Fe2O3, Na2O·Al2O3 and Na2O·SiO2 can be formed in the first 20 min, but they decrease in contents and finally disappear with the increase of roasting time. The final phase compositions of the sinter are Na2CrO4, MgO·Fe2O3, MgO·SiO2 and MgO. The results indicate that Na2CrO4 can be formed easily via the reaction ofNa2CO3 with chromite ore. Na2O·Fe2O3, Na2O-Al2O3 and Na2O·SiO2 can be formed as intermediate compounds in the roasting process and they can further react with chromite ore to form Na2CrO4. MgO released from chromite ore may react with iron oxides and silicon oxide to form stable compounds of MgO·Fe2O3 and MgO·SiO2, respectively.展开更多

The effects of reaction temperature, reaction time, ratio of alkali-to-ore were studied, together with a discussion of the thermodynamics and macro kinetics. It is observed that the reaction temperature and reaction time have significant influence on the roasting reaction. The reaction mechanism changes greatly as the temperature varies. A two-stage roasting process is favorable for the roasting reaction, and a recovery ratio of 96.51% is obtained through this two-stage roasting method. The chromium residue yielded from this method is quite little, only one third of the product. Moreover, the component of Fe in the residue is as high as 54.28%. Therefore, it can be easily recovered to produce sponge iron, realizing zero-emission of chromium residue.展开更多
