On the condition of determined open cabin position error,the allowable range of entry angle error is inversely calculated with interdiction probability. The calculated results indicate that the method mentioned can estimate the intelligence missile interdiction efficiency to the runway and the range of entry angle error,which provides available basis for analyzing the intelligence missile attack assignment on the way. 展开更多

Investigation of clogging mechanism and hydrodynamic behavior of sediment movement in patch-type drip irrigation emitters

Sediment particles,as one of the key components of drip irrigation technology,significantly affect the service life of emitters and restrict the popularization of drip irrigation technology.Hence,two types of patch drip irrigation emitters,focusing on the anti-clogging performance through the experiment,were investigated.The dynamic variations in the clogging characteristics of emitters,specifically were subjected to statistical analysis.The movement mechanism of emitter clogging and discharging sediment was studied.The effects of emitter structure and position factors on emitter clogging were analyzed.The results show that the pressure-compensated emitter exhibits superior anti-clogging perfor-mance,with a service life that is 227.8%greater than that of the labyrinth channel emitter.A single structural factor cannot completely evaluate the anti-clogging performance of emitters.All factors causing emitter clogging should be considered comprehensively.Emitters contain sensitive sediment prone to clogging,however,significant blockage occurs primarily when the sediment content is elevated.The discharge of sediment,denoted as V90,from the emitter is affected by the accumulative effect of clogged sediment.These results may offer valuable insights for the application and advancement of drip irrigation technology. 展开更多

The present study numerically explored the aerodynamic performance of a novel railway tunnel with a partially reduced cross-section.The impact of the reduction rate of the tunnel cross-section on wave transmissions was analyzed based on the three-dimensional,unsteady,compressible,and RNG k-εturbulence model.The results highlight that the reduction rate(S)most affects pressure configurations at the middle tunnel segment,followed by the enlarged segments near access,and finally the exit.The strength of the newly generated compression wave at the tunnel junction where the cross-section abruptly changes increases exponentially with the decrease of the cross-sectional area.The maximum peak-to-peak pressureΔP on the tunnel and train surface for non-uniform tunnels is reduced by 10.7%and 13.8%,respectively,compared with those of equivalent uniform tunnels.Overall,the economic analysis suggests that the aerodynamic performance of the developed tunnel prototype surpasses those conventional tunnels based on the same excavated volume. 展开更多

The objective of this work is to develop a novel feature for traffic flow models, when traffic queues on two-way arterials periodically extend until then they block an upstream signal in oversaturated conditions. The new model, proposed as conditional cell transmission model (CCTM) has been developed with two improvements. First, cell transmission model (CTM) is expanded for two-way arterials by taking account of all diverging and merging activities at intersections. Second, a conditional cell is added to simulate periodic spillback and blockages at an intersection. The results of experiments for a multilane, two-way, three-signal sample network demonstrate that CCTM can accommodate various traffic demands and accurate representation of blockages at intersections. The delay of left turns is underestimated by 40 % in moderate conditions and by 58% in oversamrated condition when using the CTM rather than CCTM. Finally, the consistency between HCS 2000 and CCTM shows that CCTM is a reliable methodology of modeling traffic flow in oversaturated condition. 展开更多

The present study focuses on the mitigation of shock wave using novel geometric passages in the flow field.The strategy is to produce multiple shock reflections and diffractions in the passage with minimum flow obstruction,which in turn is expected to reduce the shock wave strength at the target location.In the present study the interaction of a plane shock front(generated from a shock tube)with various geometric designs such as,1)zig-zag geometric passage,2)staggered cylindrical obstructions and 3)zigzag passage with cylindrical obstructions have been investigated using computational technique.It is seen from the numerical simulation that,among the various designs,the maximum shock attenuation is produced by the zig-zag passage with cylindrical obstructions which is then followed by zig-zag passage and staggered cylindrical obstructions.A comprehensive investigation on the shock wave reflection and diffraction phenomena happening in the proposed complex passages have also been carried out.In the new zig-zag design,the initial shock wave undergoes shock wave reflection and diffraction process which swaps alternatively as the shock front moves from one turn to the other turn.This cyclic shock reflection and diffraction process helps in diffusing the shock wave energy with practically no obstruction to the flow field.It is found that by combining the shock attenuation ability of zig-zag passage(using shock reflection and diffraction)with the shock attenuation ability of cylindrical blocks(by flow obstruction),a drastic attenuation in shock strength can be achieved with moderate level of flow blocking. 展开更多

In order to investigate enhancements to cell transmission model (CTM) as a tool for traffic signal timing in oversaturated conditions, randomly distributed saturation flow rates and arrival rates were used instead of constant values to simulate traffic flow movement, estimate the average delay of the network and search for an optimal traffic signal timing plan. A case study was given to demonstrate that the proposed methodology can capture unique phenomena in oversaturated conditions such as forward wave, spillback and lane entrance blockage. The results show that CTM underestimates travel time by 25% when compared to Simtraffic, while the enhanced CTM underestimates by only 3%. A second case study shows that a dynamic signal timing plan is superior to a fixed signal timing plan in the term of average delay. 展开更多

Pure Cu nanowires as catalyst were prepared by electrochemical deposition and were used in CO2 hydrogenation to methanol.The active sites of the Cu based catalyst were discussed.The performance and structural development of the catalyst were observed during CO2 hydrogenation.A mechanism for the deactivation of the catalyst was discussed.The key factors that affect the deactivation of the catalyst were found.Cu nanowire sample was characterized by SEM,EDS,XRD,and BET.The results show that Cu nanowires have very high sintering resistance and catalytic stability.This helps to develop high performance catalysts.The changes in the grain size,SEM morphology and catalytic properties of the sample during CO2 hydrogenation show that the migration of the Cu atoms on the surface of the Cu nanowires can occur.Continuous migration of Cu atoms and sintering of Cu grains can lead to flow blockage in gas channels.The gas channel flow blockage or the sintering of Cu grains can lead to deactivation of the catalyst.However,the shape of catalytic performance curve indicates that the main reason for the deactivation of the catalyst is the gas channel flow blockage. 展开更多
