This parameter is strongly related to many important applications of performance prediction for search sonar or underwater telemetry, acoustical oceanography, acoustic cavitation, volcanology, and medical and industrial ultrasound. In the present paper, both the analytical and numerical analysis results of the acoustical scattering cross section of a single bubble under multi-frequency excitation are obtained. With the introduction of the concept of “acoustic tweezers”, negative acoustic radiation has become a research hotspot. In this paper, a scheme of realizing negative ARF based on the multiple-layered spherical structure design is proposed. The specific structure and design idea are presented. Detailed theoretical calculation analysis is carried out.Numerical simulations have been performed to verify the correctness of this prediction. 文摘There is limited applicability to the current method for testing the direct tensile strength of rocks because it places stringent requirements on the testing equipment. This work suggests a universal method based on the‘‘compression-to-tensiono idea in response to these difficulties.By applying pressure, this technique makes it possible to test the tensile strength of rocks directly with any conventional compression test machines.Granite was utilized as the test material in order to validate this suggested testing method, and the results showed what follows.Upon determining the true fracture area through digital reconstruction,an average calculated tensile strength of 5.97 MPa with a Cvof 0.04 was obtained. There is a positive correlation between tensile strength and the joint roughness coefficient(JRC)of the failure surface. The aggregation mode of AE events with the loading process conforms to the damage characteristics of rock tensile failure. The direct tensile testing method proposed in this study not only has high universality but also produces test results with outstanding consistency.Additionally, factors influencing the results of the tensile test are pointed out,and recommendations for optimizing the suggested testing method are offered.

文摘Rock fracture mechanisms can be inferred from moment tensors(MT)inverted from microseismic events. However,MT can only be inverted for events whose waveforms are acquired across a network of sensors. This is limiting for underground mines where the microseismic stations often lack azimuthal coverage. Thus, there is a need for a method to invert fracture mechanisms using waveforms acquired by a sparse microseismic network. Here,we present a novel,multi-scale framework to classify whether a rock crack contracts or dilates based on a single waveform. The framework consists of a deep learning model that is initially trained on 2400000+manually labelled field-scale seismic and microseismic waveforms acquired across 692 stations.Transfer learning is then applied to fine-tune the model on 300000+MT-labelled labscale acoustic emission waveforms from 39 individual experiments instrumented with different sensor layouts, loading, and rock types in training. The optimal model achieves over 86%F-score on unseen waveforms at both the lab-and field-scale.This model outperforms existing empirical methods in classification of rock fracture mechanisms monitored by a sparse microseismic network. This facilitates rapid assessment of,and early warning against, various rock engineering hazard such as induced earthquakes and rock bursts.

文摘Acoustic radiation force(ARF), as an important particle manipulation method, has been extensively studied in recent years. The conjecture that the suppression of backscattering can achieve negative ARF is verified concretely, which greatly expands the application prospect and design ideas of the ARF. This work has laid a theoretical foundation for realizing precise control of the structure.

文摘Compared with traditional piezoelectric ultrasonic devices, optoacoustic devices have unique advantages such as a simple preparation process,anti-electromagnetic interference, and wireless long-distance power supply. However, current optoacoustic devices remain limited due to a low damage threshold and energy conversion efficiency, which seriously hinder their widespread applications. In this study, using a self-healing polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS,Fe-Hpdca-PDMS)and carbon nanotube composite,a flexible optoacoustic patch is developed, which possesses the self-healing capability at room temperature, and can even recover from damage induced by cutting or laser irradiation. Moreover, this patch can generate high-intensity ultrasound(>25 MPa)without the focusing structure. The laser damage threshold is greater than 183.44 mJ cm^(-2),and the optoacoustic energy conversion efficiency reaches a major achievement at 10.66×10^(-3),compared with other carbon-based nanomaterials and PDMS composites. This patch is also been successfully examined in the application of acoustic flow, thrombolysis, and wireless energy harvesting. All findings in this study provides new insight into designing and fabricating of novel ultrasound devices for biomedical applications.

文摘Birch has long suffered from a lack of active forest management, leading many researchers to use mate-rial without a detailed management history.Data collected from three birch(Betula pendula Roth,B.pubescens Ehrh.)sites in southern Sweden were analyzed using regression analysis to detect any trends or differences in wood proper-ties that could be explained by stand history, tree age and stem form. All sites were genetics trials established in the same way.Estimates of acoustic velocity(AV)from non-destructive testing(NDT)and predicted AV had a higher correlation if data was pooled across sites and other stem form factors were considered.A subsample of stems had radial profiles of X-ray wood density and ring width by year created, and wood density was related to ring number from the pith and ring width. It seemed likely that wood density was negatively related to ring width for both birch species.Linear models had slight improvements if site and species were included, but only the youngest site with trees at age 15 had both birch species. This paper indicated that NDT values need to be considered separately, and any predictive models will likely be improved if they are specific to the site and birch species measured.

文摘The continental shale reservoirs of Jurassic Lianggaoshan Formation in Sichuan Basin contain thin lamina, which is characterized by strong plasticity and developed longitudinal shell limestone interlayer. To improve the production efficiency of reservoirs by multi-cluster fracturing,it is necessary to consider the unbalanced propagation of hydraulic fractures and the penetration effect of fractures. This paper constructed a numerical model of multi-fracture propagation and penetration based on the finite element coupling cohesive zone method;considering the construction cluster spacing, pump rate, lamina strength and other parameters studied the influencing factors of multi-cluster fracture interaction propagation;combined with AE energy data and fracture mode reconstruction method, quantitatively characterized the comprehensive impact of the strength of thin interlayer rock interfaces on the initiation and propagation of fractures that penetrate layers, and accurately predicted the propagation pattern of hydraulic fractures through laminated shale oil reservoirs.Simulation results revealed that in the process of multi-cluster fracturing, the proportion of shear damage is low,and mainly occurs in bedding fractures activated by outer fractures.Reducing the cluster spacing enhances the fracture system's penetration ability, though it lowers the activation efficiency of lamina. The high plasticity of the limestone interlayer may impact the vertical propagation distance of the main fracture.Improving the interface strength is beneficial to the reconstruction of the fracture height, but the interface communication effect is limited.Reasonable selection of layers with moderate lamina strength for fracturing stimulation, increasing the pump rate during fracturing and setting the cluster spacing reasonably are beneficial to improve the effect of reservoir stimulation.

文摘Identifying the real fracture of rock hidden in acoustic emission(AE)source clusters(AE-depicted microcrack zone)remains challenging and crucial. Here we revealed the AE energy(representing dissipated energy)distribution rule in the rock microcrack zone and proposed an AE-energy-based method for identifying the real fracture.(1)A set of fracture experiments were performed on granite using wedgeloading, and the fracture process was detected and recorded by AE.The microcrack zone associated with the energy dissipation was characterized by AE sources and energy distribution, utilizing our selfdeveloped AE analysis program(RockAE).(2)The accumulated AE energy,an index representing energy dissipation, across the AE-depicted microcrack zone followed the normal distribution model(the mean and variance relate to the real fracture path and the microcrack zone width). This result implies that the nucleation and coalescence of massive cracks(i.e.,real fracture generation process)are supposed to follow a normal distribution.(3)Then,we obtained the real fracture extension path by joining the peak positions of the AE energy normal distribution curve at different cross-sections of the microcrack zone.Consequently,we distinguished between the microcrack zone and the concealed real fracture within it.The deviation was validated as slight as 1–3 mm.

文摘Acoustic emission(AE)localization algorithms based on homogeneous media or single-velocity are less accurate when applied to the triaxial localization experiments. To the end,a robust triaxial localization method of AE source using refraction path is proposed.Firstly, the control equation of the refraction path is established according to the sensor coordinates and arrival times.Secondly, considering the influence of time-difference-of-arrival(TDOA)errors,the residual of the governing equation is calculated to estimate the equation weight.Thirdly, the refraction points in different directions are solved using Snell’s law and orthogonal constraints. Finally, the source coordinates are iteratively solved by weighted correction terms. The feasibility and accuracy of the proposed method are verified by pencil-lead breaking experiments. The simulation results show that the new method is almost unaffected by the refraction ratio, and always holds more stable and accurate positioning performance than the traditional method under different ratios and scales of TDOA outliers.

文摘Orbital angular momentum(OAM)conversion is critical in understanding interactions between a structural sound field and a planar lattice.Herein,we explore the evolution of a monochromatic acoustic vortex beam(AVB)that is scattered by a phononic crystal(PnC)or a correlated random lattice. The phenomenon is ascribed to the enhanced orbit–orbit angular momentum coupling induced by the band structure.By modifying the coupling condition, accurate and continuous micromanipulation of AVBs can be achieved, including the transverse/lateral gravity shift, the dynamics of the phase singularities, and the spatial distribution of acoustic pressure, etc. This research provides insight to the inhomogeneous coupling of AVBs with both propagating Bloch waves and localized Anderson modes, and may facilitate development of novel OAM-based acoustic devices for active sound field manipulation.

文摘The orthogonal time frequency space(OTFS)modulation proposed in recent years is considered to have superior performance than orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM)for the doubly selective(DS)channels. The works in the existing literature on OTFS mainly focus on the cases where the channels are underspread(i.e.,the product of the delay spread and the Doppler spread is less than 1).In the scenario of overspread DS channel, which has large delay spread and severe Doppler spread, such as underwater acoustic(UWA)channel, the channel model in delay-Doppler(DD)Domain derived by existing work is no longer applicable. In this paper,we derive a more generalized expression of the channel model in delay-Doppler domain, which allows the product of the delay spread and Doppler spread to be larger than1.The result shows that the existing channel model is just a special case of the one we proposed.Using the proposed channel matrix in DD domain,we build the OTFS detectors with the minimum mean square error(MMSE)and message passing(MP)algorithms on overspread doubly selective channel. Finally, simulation results are presented to verify the theoretical derivation and the effectiveness of the detectors.

文摘We investigate propagation of dust ion acoustic solitary wave(DIASW)in a multicomponent dusty plasma with adiabatic ions, superthermal electrons, and stationary dust. The reductive perturbation method is employed to derive the damped Korteweg-de Vries(DKdV)equation which describes DIASW.The result reveals that the adiabaticity of ions significantly modifies the basic features of the DIASW.The ionization effect makes the solitary wave grow, while collisions reduce the growth rate and even lead to the damping. With the increases in ionization cross sectionΔσ/σ_(0),ion-to-electron density ratioδ_(ie)and superthermal electrons parameterκ,the effect of ionization on DIASW enhances.

文摘During the process of constructional backfill mining, the cemented paste backfill(CPB)typically exhibits a high degree of brittleness and limited resistance to failure. In this study, the mechanical and damage evolution characteristics of waste tire steel fiber(WTSF)-modified CPB were studied through uniaxial compression tests, acoustic emission(AE)tests, and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The results showed that the uniaxial compressive strength(UCS)decreased when the WTSF content was 0.5%,1%,and 1.5%.When the WTSF content reached 1%,the UCS of the modified CPB exhibited a minimal decrease(0.37 MPa)compared to that without WTSF.When the WTSF content was 0.5%,1%,and 1.5%,peak strain of the WTSF-modified CPB increased by 18%,31.33%,and 81.33%,while the elastic modulus decreased by 21.31%,26.21%,and 45.42%,respectively.The addition of WTSF enhances the activity of AE events in the modified CPB,resulting in a slower progression of the entire failure process. After the failure, the modified CPB retained a certain level of load-bearing capacity.Generally, the failure of the CPB was dominated by tensile cracks. After the addition of WTSF,a gradual increase in the proportion of tensile cracks was observed upon loading the modified CPB sample to the pore compaction stage. The three-dimensional localization of AE events showed that the WTSF-modified CPB underwent progressive damage during the loading, and the samples still showed good integrity after failure.Additionally, the response relationship between energy evolution and damage development of WTSF-modified CPB during uniaxial compression was analyzed, and the damage constitutive model of CPB samples with different WTSF contents was constructed. This study provides a theoretical basis for the enhancement of CPB modified by adding WTSF,serving as a valuable reference for the design of CPB constructional backfill.
