针对SiC_f/SiC陶瓷基复合材料在干式钻削中的工具磨损快、加工效率低等问题,提出了一种基于有序排布钎焊金刚石套料钻的超声振动辅助干式钻削加工工艺。采用不同排布参数下的钎焊金刚石套料钻对SiC_f/SiC陶瓷基复合材料进行超声振动辅... 针对SiC_f/SiC陶瓷基复合材料在干式钻削中的工具磨损快、加工效率低等问题,提出了一种基于有序排布钎焊金刚石套料钻的超声振动辅助干式钻削加工工艺。采用不同排布参数下的钎焊金刚石套料钻对SiC_f/SiC陶瓷基复合材料进行超声振动辅助钻孔加工,通过对加工孔径的测量,研究钎焊金刚石套料钻磨粒排布参数对钻孔工具寿命和制孔精度的影响规律,分析工具不同位置处磨粒的磨损特征。结果表明:工具端面磨粒越多,工具使用寿命越长;工具侧边磨粒排布越长,列数越多,加工孔的孔径变化越小;距离工具端面越近处的磨粒磨损越大,主要以宏观破碎和磨耗平台为主,而距离工具端面较远处的磨粒磨损较小。 展开更多

2D Plain and 3D Needle-punched C/SiC Composites:Low-velocity Impact Damage Behavior and Failure Mechanism

Continuous carbon fiber reinforced silicon carbide(C/SiC)composites are often subjected to low-velocity impacts when utilized as structural materials for thermal protection.However,research on in-plane impact damage and multiple impact damage of C/SiC composites is limited.To investigate the in-plane impact damage behavior of C/SiC composites,a drop-weight impact test method was developed for strip samples,and these results were subsequently compared with those of C/SiC composite plates.Results show that the in-plane impact behavior of C/SiC strip samples is similar to that of C/SiC composite plates.Variation of the impact load with displacement is characterized by three stages:a nearly linear stage,a severe load drop stage,and a rebound stage where displacement occurs after the impact energy exceeds its peak value.Impact damage behavior under single and multiple impacts on 2D plain and 3D needled C/SiC composites was investigated at different impact energies and durations.Crack propagation in C/SiC composites was studied by computerized tomography(CT)technique.In the 2D plain C/SiC composite,load propagation between layers is hindered during impact,leading to delamination and 90°fiber brittle fracture.The crack length perpendicular to the impact direction increases with impact energy increases,resulting in more serious 0°fiber fracture and a larger area of fiber loss.In the 3D needled C/SiC composite,load propagates between the layers during impact through the connection of needled fibers.The fibers continue to provide substantial structural support,with notable instances of fiber pull-off and debonding.Consequently,the impact resistance is superior to that of 2D plain C/SiC composite.When the 3D needled C/SiC composite undergoes two successive impacts of 1.5 J,the energy absorption efficiency of the second impact is significantly lower,accompanied by a smaller impact displacement.Moreover,the total energy absorption efficiency of these two impacts of 1.5 J is lower than that of a single 3.0 J impact. 展开更多

BNp/Al2O3-SiO2 system ceramic matrix composites with different volume fractions (10%-60%) of hexagonal BN particulates (BNp) were prepared by hot-press sintering technique. Phase components, microstructure, mechanical properties and plasma erosion resistance were also investigated. With the increase of h-BNp content, relative density and Vickers' hardness of the composite ceramics decrease, while the flexural strength, elastic modulus and fracture toughness increase and then decrease. The plasma erosion resistance linearly deteriorated with the increase of BNp content which is mainly determined by the density, crystal structure and atomic number of the elements. 展开更多

Fabrication and plasma arc thermal shock resistance of HfB_2-based ultra high temperature ceramics

Two hafnium diboride based ceramic matrix composites containing 20% (volume fraction) SiC particle and with or without AIN as sintering additives were fabri,aated by hot-pressed sintering. The mechanical properties and microstructures of these two composites were tested and the thermal shock resistances were evaluated by plasma arc heater. The results indicate that the composite with A1N as sintering additive has a denser and finer microstructure than composite without sintering additive, and the mechanical properties, thermal shock resistance of the composite with A1N as sintering additive are also higher than those of the composite without A1N. Microstructure analysis on the cross-section of two composites after thermal shock tests indicates that a compact oxidation scale contains HfO2 and Al2O3 liquid phase is found on the surface of composite with A1N, which could fill the voids and cracks of surface and improve the thermal shock resistance of composite. 展开更多

Processing and mechanical properties of network ceramic/steel composites by pressureless infiltration

A new style Ni-containing alumina ceramic foam based continuous three-dimensional interconnected skeleton was prepared by impregnating a polymeric sponge with aqueous ceramic slurry.Subsequently,alumina ceramic foam/steel metal matrix composites(MMCs) were prepared successfully by sand mold casting technique.The microstructure and mechanical properties of MMCs were investigated by SEM,EDS and compressive test.The results show that the depth of infiltration is about 40 μm to the bonding interface of ceramic/steel and the fracture strength σmax and plastic strain limit εp of composite are 520 MPa and 11.2%,respectively.The fretting wear mechanism of MMCs is mainly performed at the oxidative wear mode with lower load/friction frequency and the predominant oxidation wear together with slight adhesive wear and abrasive wear multiple mode with higher load/ friction frequency.Moreover,the infiltration bonding and continuous three-dimensional interconnected ceramic skeleton play a vital role in the stability of the bonding interface and excellent mechanical properties. 展开更多
