Aqueous zinc ion batteries are regarded as one of the most promising candidates for large-scale energy stor-age due to their high safety,cost-effectiveness,and environ-mental friendliness.However,uncontrolled zinc den...Aqueous zinc ion batteries are regarded as one of the most promising candidates for large-scale energy stor-age due to their high safety,cost-effectiveness,and environ-mental friendliness.However,uncontrolled zinc dendrite growth and side reactions of the zinc anode decrease the sta-bility of Zn batteries.We report the synthesis of an air-oxid-ized carbon nanotube(O-CNT)film by chemical vapor de-position followed by heat treatment in air which is used as a protective layer on the Zn foil to suppress zinc dendrite growth.The increase in the hydrophilicity of the O-CNT film caused by air oxidation facilitates zinc deposition between the film and the anode instead of deposition on the film surface.The porous structure of the O-CNT film homogenizes the Zn^(2+)ion flux and the electric field on the surface of the Zn foil,leading to the uniform deposition of Zn.As a result,a O-CNT@Zn symmetric cell has a much better cycling stability with a life of more than 3000 h at 1 mA cm^(−2) with a capacity of 1 mAh cm^(−2),and values of more than 2000 h and 1 mAh cm^(−2) at 5 mA cm^(−2).In addition,a O-CNT@Zn||Mn^(2+)inserted hydrated vanadium pentoxide(MnVOH)full cell has a better rate per-formance than a Zn||MnVOH cell,achieving a high discharge capacity of 194 mAh g^(−1) at a high current density of 8 A g^(−1).In a long-term cycling test,the O-CNT@Zn||MnVOH full cell has a capacity retention of 58.8%after 2000 cycles at a current density of 5 A·g^(−1).展开更多
Despite being a promising photoanode material for water splitting,WO_(3) has low conductivity,high onset potential,and sluggish water oxidation kinetics.In this study,we designed Ti-doped WO_(3) nanoplate arrays on fl...Despite being a promising photoanode material for water splitting,WO_(3) has low conductivity,high onset potential,and sluggish water oxidation kinetics.In this study,we designed Ti-doped WO_(3) nanoplate arrays on fluoride-doped tin oxide by a seed-free hydrothermal method,and the effects of doping on the photoelectrochemical performance were investigated.The optimal Ti-doped WO_(3) electrode achieved a photocurrent density of 0.53 mA/cm^(2) at 0.6 V(vs Ag/AgCl),110%higher than that of pure WO_(3) nanoplate arrays.Moreover,a significant cathodic shift in the onset potential was observed after doping.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy valence band and ultraviolet–visible spectra revealed that the band positions of Ti-doped WO_(3) photoanodes moved upward,yielding a lower onset potential.Furthermore,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements revealed that the conductivities of the WO_(3) photoanodes improved after doping,because of the rapid separation of photo-generated charge carriers.Thus,we report a new design route toward efficient and low-cost photoanodes for photoelectrochemical applications.展开更多
This work presents a method to solve the weak solubility of zinc chloride(ZnCl_2) in the ethanol by adding some reasonable water into an ethanol electrolyte containing ZnCl_2 and myristic acid(CH_3(CH_2)_(12)COOH).A r...This work presents a method to solve the weak solubility of zinc chloride(ZnCl_2) in the ethanol by adding some reasonable water into an ethanol electrolyte containing ZnCl_2 and myristic acid(CH_3(CH_2)_(12)COOH).A rapid one-step electrodeposition process was developed to fabricate anodic(2.5 min) and cathodic(40 s) superhydrophobic surfaces of copper substrate(contact angle more than 150°) in an aqueous ethanol electrolyte.Morphology,composition,chemical structure and superhydrophobicity of these superhydrophobic surfaces were investigated by SEM,FTIR,XRD,and contact angle measurement,respectively.The results indicate that water ratio of the electrolyte can reduce the required deposition time,superhydrophobic surface needs over 30 min with anhydrous electrolyte,while it needs only 2.5 min with electrolyte including 10 mL water,and the maximum contact angle of anodic surface is 166° and that of the cathodic surface is 168°.Two copper electrode surfaces have different reactions in the process of electrodeposition time,and the anodic copper surface covers copper myristate(Cu[CH_3(CH_2)_(12)COO]_2) and cupric chloride(CuCl);while,zinc myristate(Zn[CH_3(CH_2)_(12)COO]_2) and pure zinc(Zn) appear on the cathodic surface.展开更多
