The influence of three factors, such as volume percentage of reinforcement particles(i.e. Al2O3), tool tilt angle and concave angle of shoulder, on the mechanical properties of Cue Al2O3 surface composites fabricated ...The influence of three factors, such as volume percentage of reinforcement particles(i.e. Al2O3), tool tilt angle and concave angle of shoulder, on the mechanical properties of Cue Al2O3 surface composites fabricated via friction stir processing was studied. Taguchi method was used to optimize these factors for maximizing the mechanical properties of surface composites. The fabricated surface composites were examined by optical microscope for dispersion of reinforcement particles. It was found that Al2O3 particles are uniformly dispersed in the stir zone. The tensile properties of the surface composites increased with the increase in the volume percentage of the Al2O3 reinforcement particles.This is due to the addition of the reinforcement particles which increases the temperature of recrystallization by pinning the grain boundaries of the copper matrix and blocking the movement of the dislocations. The observed mechanical properties are correlated with microstructure and fracture features.展开更多

In this paper a new method is proposed to predict the buckling loads of the laminated strips with a surface notch. The theoretical and experimental results show that the buckling loads decrease as the depth or width of the surface notches increase; when the stacking sequence of the laminated strips is [0°/0°/+ θ/-θ/0°/0°/+θ/-θ] s , the buckling load decrease as θ increases. The dynamic parameters of wetting, contact-angles and surface energy of the fiber before and alter the treatment were compared to see the changes in the wetting property. ESCA and electron spin resonance were utilized to examine the chemical composition and the attached free radicals of the fiber surface. The results, together with changes in the magnitude of the contact-angle and the number of free radicals with time after the plasma treatment do not show any ageing effect. Single filament test revealed that the tensile strength was not impaired but even improved somewhat after the plasma treatment. The experiment shows that the interlaminar shear strength of Kevlar fiber reinforced epoxy resin compo- site is increased for more than 60%% after the treatment.展开更多
Solid-state grinding is a simple and effective method to introduce guest species into the channels of microporous materials through filling.The structure and the surface acidity of the materials were obtained from BET...Solid-state grinding is a simple and effective method to introduce guest species into the channels of microporous materials through filling.The structure and the surface acidity of the materials were obtained from BET isotherms and NH3-TPD,respectively.XRD,UV-vis,UV diffuse-reflectance,and TEM were used to characterize the phases,and the morphology,respectively.The clustered layers of MgO-Al2O3phases were formed in the internal pore surface and were highly dispersed inside the channels of the ZSM-5 host.So the volume of MgO-Al2O3/ZSM-5 composite was larger than the ZSM-5 zeolite itself and some mesoporous channels appeared when Mg/Al species entered the channels.Meanwhile,new acid sites emerged in MgO-Al2O3/ZSM-5 composite and the acid amount of the sample changed.The improved Pt dispersion and the increased acid content would cause the increase of propane conversion and the modification of selectivity during the reaction.展开更多
