The traditional manner to design public transportation system is to sequentially design the transit network and public bicycle network. A new public transportation system design problem that simultaneously considers b...The traditional manner to design public transportation system is to sequentially design the transit network and public bicycle network. A new public transportation system design problem that simultaneously considers both bus network design and public bicycle network design is proposed. The chemical reaction optimization(CRO) is designed to solve the problem. A shortcoming of CRO is that, when the two-molecule collisions take place, the molecules are randomly picked from the container.Hence, we improve CRO by employing different mating strategies. The computational results confirm the benefits of the mating strategies. Numerical experiments are conducted on the Sioux-Falls network. A comparison with the traditional sequential modeling framework indicates that the proposed approach has a better performance and is more robust. The practical applicability of the approach is proved by employing a real size network.展开更多
The cutoff wavenumbers of elliptical waveguides were calculated by using isogeomtric analysis method (IGA). With NURBS basis functions in IGA, the computational model was consistent with geometric model imported fro...The cutoff wavenumbers of elliptical waveguides were calculated by using isogeomtric analysis method (IGA). With NURBS basis functions in IGA, the computational model was consistent with geometric model imported from CAD system. The field variable (longitudinal electric/magnetic field) was constructed by the same NURBS basis functions as the representation of geometric model. In the refinement procedure used to get a more accurate solution, communication with original CAD system is unnecessary and the geometric shape is kept unchanged. The Helrnholtz equation is weakened to a set of general eigenvalue equation by virtual work principal with diseretized degree-of-freedom on control points. Elliptical waveguides with three typical eccentricities, 0.1, 0.5 and 0.9, are calculated by IGA with different size mesh. The first four cutoff wavenumbers are obtained even in coarse mesh and the RMS of first 25 cutoff wavenumbers has much more swift convergence rate with decreasing the mesh size than traditional FEM. The accuracy and robustness of the proposed method are validated by elliptical waveguides, and also the method can be applied to waveguides with arbitrary cross sections.展开更多

An algorithm was proposed to select one (or a group of) sensor at each time from a set of sensors. Then, a hybrid estimation algorithm was designed to compute the estimates of the continuous and discrete states of the SLHS based on the observations from the selected sensors. As the sensor scheduling algorithm is designed such that the Bayesian decision risk is minimized, the true discrete state can be better identified. Moreover, the continuous state estimation performance of the proposed algorithm is better than that of hybrid estimation algorithms using only predetermined sensors. Finallyo the algorithms are validated through an illustrative target tracking example.展开更多
