The e...A mathematical model of gear tooth profiles using the ellipse curve, whose curvature is convenient to control by changing the mathematical parameters as its line of action, was built based on the meshing theory. The equation of undercutting condition was derived from the model. A special epicycloidal tooth profile was also presented. An example gear drive with variation of the ellipse parameters was taken to illustrate the proposed method. The contact ratio of the gear drive designed by the proposed method was analyzed. A comparison of the property of the gear drive designed with the involute gear drive was also carried out. The results confirm that the proposed gear drive has higher contact ratio in comparison with the involute gear drive.展开更多
Unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)was introduced to take road segment traffic surveillance.Considering the limited UAV maximum flight distance,UAV route planning problem was studied.First,a multi-objective optimization mode...Unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)was introduced to take road segment traffic surveillance.Considering the limited UAV maximum flight distance,UAV route planning problem was studied.First,a multi-objective optimization model of planning UAV route for road segment surveillance was proposed,which aimed to minimize UAV cruise distance and minimize the number of UAVs used.Then,an evolutionary algorithm based on Pareto optimality technique was proposed to solve multi-objective UAV route planning problem.At last,a UAV flight experiment was conducted to test UAV route planning effect,and a case with three scenarios was studied to analyze the impact of different road segment lengths on UAV route planning.The case results show that the optimized cruise distance and the number of UAVs used decrease by an average of 38.43% and 33.33%,respectively.Additionally,shortening or extending the length of road segments has different impacts on UAV route planning.展开更多
Faulted gas reservoirs are very common in reality,where some linear leaky faults divide the gas reservoir into several reservoir regions with distinct physical properties.This kind of gas reservoirs is also known as l...Faulted gas reservoirs are very common in reality,where some linear leaky faults divide the gas reservoir into several reservoir regions with distinct physical properties.This kind of gas reservoirs is also known as linear composite(LC)gas reservoirs.Although some analytical/semi-analytical models have been proposed to investigate pressure behaviors of producing wells in LC reservoirs based on the linear composite ideas,almost all of them focus on vertical wells and studies on multiple fractured horizontal wells are rare.After the pressure wave arrives at the leaky fault,pressure behaviors of multiple fractured horizontal wells will be affected by the leaky faults.Understanding the effect of leaky faults on pressure behaviors of multiple fractured horizontal wells is critical to the development design.Therefore,a semi-analytical model of finite-conductivity multiple fractured horizontal(FCMFH)wells in LC gas reservoirs is established based on Laplace-space superposition principle and fracture discrete method.The proposed model is validated against commercial numerical simulator.Type curves are obtained to study pressure characteristics and identify flow regimes.The effects of some parameters on type curves are discussed.The proposed model will have a profound effect on developing analytical/semi-analytical models for other complex well types in LC gas reservoirs.展开更多
