A new highly selective thiocyanate PVC membrane electrode based on bisbebzoin-semitriethylenetetraamine binuclear cobalt(Ⅱ) metallic complex [Co(Ⅱ) 2-BBSTA] as neutral carrier is reported, which displays an anti-Hof...A new highly selective thiocyanate PVC membrane electrode based on bisbebzoin-semitriethylenetetraamine binuclear cobalt(Ⅱ) metallic complex [Co(Ⅱ) 2-BBSTA] as neutral carrier is reported, which displays an anti-Hofmeister selectivity sequence. The electrode exhibits Nernstian potential linear range to thiocyanate from 1.0×10 -1 to 1.0×10 -6 mol/L with a detection limit 8.0×10 -7 mol/L and a slope of -52.0 mV/dec in phosphorate buffer solution of pH=5.0 at 25 ℃. The response mechanism is discussed in view of the a.c. impedance technique and the UV spectroscopy technique. The electrode based on binuclear cobalt(Ⅱ) compound was used to determine the thiocyanate content in waste water with satisfactory results.展开更多
The extraction of thiocyanate(SCN-) from potassium thiocyanate(KSCN) solution and waste solution for coke oven gas desulfurization using tributyl phosphate(TBP) and affect of several factors were investigated.IR analy...The extraction of thiocyanate(SCN-) from potassium thiocyanate(KSCN) solution and waste solution for coke oven gas desulfurization using tributyl phosphate(TBP) and affect of several factors were investigated.IR analysis shows that TBP is able to extract SCN-,but can not extract thiosulfate anion(S2O32-).For extaction from 6% KSCN solution with TBP,the single extraction rate of SCN-is 10.95% and the partition coefficient is 0.1230.SCN-is extracted by TBP via the formation of coordination bond.The main impacting factors on extraction includes phase ratio,extraction time,and the presence of NH4+.For extracting SCN-from diluted waste solution for coke oven gas desulfurization,the average single extraction rate is 15.39%,and the waste solution can be reused after desalting extraction.The single stripping rate is 61.73% using distilled water as strippant.The total stripping rate can reach 95.15%,after stripping for three times.For reuse of TBP that removed SCN-,it must be undergone further purification.展开更多
