A tunneled planing hull has unique hybrid hydrodynamic and aerodynamic characteristics due to the presence of a tunnel.In this paper,experimental and numerical investigations on hydrody namic analysis of a tunneled pl...A tunneled planing hull has unique hybrid hydrodynamic and aerodynamic characteristics due to the presence of a tunnel.In this paper,experimental and numerical investigations on hydrody namic analysis of a tunneled planing hull are carried out.The resistance tests of models with three dif ferent masses(127.4 kg,159.5 kg,202.9 kg)are conducted for the Froude number in the range of 0.761≤Fn≤1.925.The results of resistance measured by towing tank imply that the tunneled planing hull with a larger displacement has a superior resistance performance.The numerical simulation of Reynolds Average Navier Stokes(RANS)equations based on the finite volume method is performed to analyze the hull characteristics in calm water(M=159.5 kg)with two degrees of freedom(sinkage and trim).The numerical results are compared with the experimental data,which shows good agreement.Pressure distribution,wave profiles and lift forces obtained by SST k-ωand Realizable k-εturbulence models are compared and discussed.Finally,the local fluid flow of streamline around the hull can be divided into four regions due to the presence of a tunnel,which is different from the behaviors of the conventional planing monohull with prismatic form.展开更多

According to the actual engineering problem that the precise load model of shield machine is difficult to achieve,a design method of sliding mode robust controller oriented to the automatic rectification of shield mac...According to the actual engineering problem that the precise load model of shield machine is difficult to achieve,a design method of sliding mode robust controller oriented to the automatic rectification of shield machine was proposed. Firstly,the nominal load model of shield machine and the ranges of model parameters were obtained by the soil mechanics parameters of certain geological conditions and the messages of the self-learning of shield machine by tunneling for previous segments. Based on this rectification mechanism model with known ranges of parameters,a sliding mode robust controller was proposed. Finally,the simulation analysis was developed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller. The simulation results show that the sliding mode robust controller can be implemented in the attitude rectification process of the shield machine and it has stronger robustness to overcome the soil disturbance.展开更多
The theoretical model of axial ultrasonic vibration grinding force is built on the basis of a mathematical model of cutting deforming force deduced from the assumptions of thickness of the undeformed debris under Rayl...The theoretical model of axial ultrasonic vibration grinding force is built on the basis of a mathematical model of cutting deforming force deduced from the assumptions of thickness of the undeformed debris under Rayleigh distribution and a mathematical model of friction based on the theoretical analysis of relative sliding velocity of abrasive and workpiece. Then, the coefficients of the ultrasonic vibration grinding force model are calculated through analysis of nonlinear regression of the theoretical model by using MATLAB, and the law of influence of grinding depth, workpiece speed, frequency and amplitude of the mill on the grinding force is summarized after applying the model to analyze the ultrasonic grinding force. The result of the above-mentioned law shows that the grinding force decreases as frequency and amplitude increase, while increases as grinding depth and workpiece speed increase; the maximum relative error of prediction and experimental values of the normal grinding force is 11.47% and its average relative error is 5.41%; the maximum relative error of the tangential grinding force is 10.14% and its average relative error is 4.29%. The result of employing regression equation to predict ultrasonic grinding force approximates to the experimental data, therefore the accuracy and reliability of the model is verified.展开更多
