The catalyst was synthesized by stainless steel wire mesh as support and then treated by anodic oxidation technology to develop a porous membrane on the support. During the anodic oxidation process, various electrolytes were used to investigate the formation of porous membrane. And the catalytic performance of the catalysts was tested by using toluene and acetone combustion as model reaction. The temperatures of complete toluene and acetone conversion were decreased to 180℃ and 240 ℃, respectively. The morphologies of the stainless steel wire mesh supports and catalysts were characterized by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and temperature-programmed reduction (TPR).展开更多

The electrochemical properties of Mg-1%Sn, Mg-6%Al and Mg-6%Al-1%Sn alloys are measured by galvanostatic and potentiodynamic tests. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) with energy dispersive spectrometry(EDS) is used to characterize the microstructures of the experimental alloys. The results show that the Mg-6%Al-1%Sn alloy obtains more negative discharge potential(-1.38 V(vs SCE)) in hot-rolled condition. This is attributed to the fine dynamically recrystallized grains during the hot rolling process. After the experimental alloys are annealed at 473 K for 1 h, the discharge potentials of Mg-6%Al-1%Sn alloy are more negative than those of Mg-6%Al alloy under different current densities. After annealing at 673 K, the discharge potentials of Mg-6%Al-1%Sn alloy become more positive than those of Mg-6%Al alloy. Such phenomenon is due to the coarse grains and the second phase Mg2 Sn. The discharge potentials of Mg-1%Sn shift positively obviously in the discharge process compared with Mg-6%Al-1%Sn alloy. This is due to the corrosion products pasting on the discharge surface, which leads to anode polarization.展开更多

X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (gEM) were employed to characterize the structure and morphology of Li4Ti4.psW0.05Ol2. W-doping does not change the phase composition and particle morphology, while remarkably improves its cycling stability at high charge/discharge rate. Li4Ti4.95W0.05O12 exhibits an excellent rate capability with a reversible capacity of 131.2 mA.h/g at 10C and even 118.6 mA.h/g at 20C. The substitution of W for Ti site can enhance the electronic conductivity of Li4TisO12 via the generation of mixing Ti4+/Ti3+, which indicates that Li4Ti4.psW0.05O12 is promising as a high rate anode for the lithium-ion batteries.展开更多

The passivation reaction of Pb-Ag-Nd anode during pre-treatment process was investigated using cyclic voltammetry, linear scanning voltammetry, environmental scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. The results show that Pb F2 and PbSO4 are formed near the potential of Pb/PbSO4 couple. The pre-treatment in fluoride-containing H2SO4 solution contributes to the formation of a thick, compact and adherent passive film. Furthermore, pre-treatment in fluoride-containing H2SO4 solution also facilitates the formation of PbO2 on the anodic layer, and the reason could be attributed to the formation of more PbF2 and PbSO4 during the pre-treatment which tend to transform to PbO2 during the following electrowinning process. In addition, the anodic layer on anode with pre-treatment in fluoride-containing H2SO4 solution is thick and compact, and its predominant composition is β-PbO2. In summary, the pre-treatment in fluoride-containing H2SO4 solution benefits the formation of a desirable protective layer in a short time.展开更多

The results show that the cathodic diffusion current density presents the variation trend of initial increase and subsequent decrease with the decrease of TEL thickness, and the maximum deposits at 58 μm. The cotangent-hyperbolic impedance(O) is rationally first introduced to study the diffusion process of the reactants through the corrosion products layer with many permeable holes. The initial corrosion rate of 907 steel under different TEL thickness increases with the decrease of TEL thickness except that of 104 μm,whereas the corrosion rate after long time corrosion can be ranked as 104 μm﹥402 μm﹥198 μm﹥301 μm﹥bulk solution.展开更多

The structures, surface morphologies and electrochemical performances of TiO2-B were characterized by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electrochemical measurement, respectively. The effects of calcining temperature, molar ratio of K2O to TiO2 and calcining time on the characteristics of TiO2-B were investigated. The results show that the calcining time exerts a significant influence on the electrochemical performances of TiO2-B. The TiO2-B is obtained with good crystal structure and suitable size by using K2Ti4O9, which is prepared at 950 ℃for 24 h under the condition of x(K2O)/x(TiO2)=1:3.5. The TiO2-B delivers all initial discharge capacity of 231.6 mA.h/g. And the rate caoacitv is 73.2 mA-h/g at 1 675 mA/g, which suggests that TiO2-B is a promising anode material for the lithium ion batteries.展开更多
