The type specimen is deposited in the Entomological Laboratory, Fuj...This paper deals with a new species, Melanitis nigrimaculata Chou et Qi sp.nov., of the family Satyridae (Lepidoptera) from Fujian Province of China. The type specimen is deposited in the Entomological Laboratory, Fujian Agricultural University, China. Melanitis nigrimaculata Chou et Qi, sp.nov. This new species is allied to Melanitis zitnius Herbst, but can be easily distinguished from the latter by the black macule in heart-form on forewing, and without the yellow band and black spots at subapical zone.
