A well-defined new reduction peak appeared at a more positive potential than the original reduction peak. The new reduction peak current was linearly related to the acid value (AV) of oil. Based on it, a rapid electrochemical method for determining AV of transformer oil was developed using PPy/GC electrode. A working curve was obtained in the AV range of 0.01 to 0.40 mg(KOH).g^-1, with a sensitivity of 39.42 μA0.5/(mg(KOH).g-l) and the detection limit of 0.0014 mg(KOH).g^-1 (signal-to-noise ratio is 3, standard deviation is 2.247%). Moreover, the proposed method has been successfully applied to AV determination of several transformer oil samples with advantages of rapidness, high sensitivity and accuracy compared to the conventional method.展开更多

The passivation reaction of Pb-Ag-Nd anode during pre-treatment process was investigated using cyclic voltammetry, linear scanning voltammetry, environmental scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. The results show that Pb F2 and PbSO4 are formed near the potential of Pb/PbSO4 couple. The pre-treatment in fluoride-containing H2SO4 solution contributes to the formation of a thick, compact and adherent passive film. Furthermore, pre-treatment in fluoride-containing H2SO4 solution also facilitates the formation of PbO2 on the anodic layer, and the reason could be attributed to the formation of more PbF2 and PbSO4 during the pre-treatment which tend to transform to PbO2 during the following electrowinning process. In addition, the anodic layer on anode with pre-treatment in fluoride-containing H2SO4 solution is thick and compact, and its predominant composition is β-PbO2. Pickling sludge generated during the neutralization of pickling wastewater with calcium hydroxide in stainless steel pickling process was characterized using X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, X-ray diffractometry, scan...Pickling sludge generated during the neutralization of pickling wastewater with calcium hydroxide in stainless steel pickling process was characterized using X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, X-ray diffractometry, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry, etc. The major compositions of pickling sludge are CaF2, CaSO4, Me(OH), (M: Fe, Cr, Ni), and the content of CaF2 is high in the sludge. The melting point of pickling sludge is about 1350℃ and the viscosity is about 0.14 Pa.s at 1450 ℃, which are comparatively lower than those of normal refining slag. After heat treatment, the contents of sulfur and fluorine in the pickling sludge were reduced, confirming the thermal decomposition of sulfate in the sludge. Fluorine in the sludge is reduced by the gaseous SiF4 and A1F3 generated through the reactions of CaF2 with SiO2 and Al2O3. The preliminary results from the reduction test indicate that the sulfur content in the steel is not affected by the presence of sulfur in the sludge. The recovery of nickel is about 40%, and the chromium content changes marginally due to the protective atmosphere under the reduction condition of chromic oxide. The pickling sludge is a potential auxiliary material for the production of stainless steel.展开更多

Line extra...In order to obtain a compact and exact representation of 2D range scans,UKF(unscented Kalman filter) and CDKF(central difference Kalman filter) were proposed for extracting the breakpoint of the laser data. Line extraction was performed in every continuous breakpoint region by detecting the optimal angle and the optimal distance in polar coordinates,and every breakpoint area was constructed with two points. As a proof to the method,an experiment was performed by a mobile robot equipped with one SICK laser rangefinder,and the results of UKF/CDKF in breakpoint detection and line extraction were compared with those of the EKF(extended Kalman filter) . The results show that the exact geometry of the raw laser data of the environments can be obtained by segmented raw measurements(combining the proposed breakpoint detection approach with the line extraction method) ,and method UKF is the best one compared with CDKF and EKF.展开更多
