The simulation results are basically in a...A new method called mixed Lagrangian and Eulerian method (MILE method) was used to simulate the thermomechanical behavior during continuous casting process of steel YF45MnV. The simulation results are basically in agreement with the measured data. The delaying period at the beginning of solidification is about 0.1. in square root of solidification time which is agreement with the data in literatures, and shell thickness increases in linear relation to square root of solidification time. The bloom surface temperature decreases gradually as the casting proceeds. The effective stress in the comer is much larger than that in the mid-face. The comer area is the dangerous zone of cracking. The effects of mold flux break temperature on the air gap and hot tearing indicator were also modeled. The model predicts that the bloom surface temperature increases with the increase of the mold flux break temperature, but the heat flux decreases with the increase of the mold flux break temperature. ,The hot tearing indicator is much smaller when the mold flux break temperature is higher.展开更多
Abstract: The hot deformation behaviors of AI-Zn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy were investigated in a temperature range of 340-500℃ and a strain rate range of 0.001-10 s 1 using uniaxial compression test on Gleeble-1500 thermal si...Abstract: The hot deformation behaviors of AI-Zn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy were investigated in a temperature range of 340-500℃ and a strain rate range of 0.001-10 s 1 using uniaxial compression test on Gleeble-1500 thermal simulation machine. The results show that the flow stress increases with increasing strain and tends to be constant after a peak value. The flow stress increases with increasing strain rate and decreases with increasing deformation temperature. The phenomenon of dynamic recovery and dynamic recrystallization can be observed by microstructural evolutions. Based on the hyperbolic Arrhenius-type equation, the true stress-true strain data from the tests were employed to establish the constitutive equation considering the effect of the true strain on material constants (α, β, Q, n and A), which reveals the dependence of the flow stress on strain, strain rate and deformation temperature. The predicted stress-strain curves are in good agreement with experimental results, which confirms that the developed constitutive equations are suitable to research the hot deformation behaviors of Al-Zn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy.展开更多

Then, an investigation on the influence of two different quenching processes ...Effect of quenching process on the microstrucmre and mechanical properties of a kind of seamless tubes of steel 28CrMnMoV was investigated. Then, an investigation on the influence of two different quenching processes on the ductile-brittle transition behavior of this steel was undertaken. The ductile-brittle transition temperatures of the steel by two different quenching processes were also determined. The results show that a good combination of mechanical properties can be obtained through austenitizing experimental steel at 800 ℃ or 890 ℃ followed by tempering at 630 ℃. Ductile-to-brittle transition temperature of 28CrMnMoV steel austenitized at 800 ℃ followed by tempering at 640 ℃ is about -73 ℃, which is much lower than the value -37 ℃ when the steel was austenitized at 890℃ and then tempered at 650 ℃. This indicates that subcritical quenching process could decrease largely the ductile-to-brittle transition temperature of 28CrMnMoV steel.展开更多

The results ...To study the aerodynamic performance of a new six-axis X2K double-deck container vehicle, numerical simulation was done based on three-dimensional, steady Navier-Stokes equations and k-e turbulence model. The results show that the pressure on the front surface of vehicle is positive, and others are negative. The maximum negative one appears as a "gate" shape on front surfaces. The pressure on vehicle increases with train speed, and pressure on vehicles with cross-loaded structure is smaller than that without it. The airflow around vehicles is symmetrical about train vertical axis, and the flow velocity decreases gradually along the axis to ground. Airflow around vehicles with cross-loaded structure is weaker than that without the structure. The aerodynamic drag increases linearly with the train speed, and it is minimum for the mid-vehicle. The linear coefficient for mid-vehicle without cross-loaded structure is 29.75, nearly one time larger than that with the structure valued as 15.425. So, from the view-point of aerodynamic drag, the cross-loaded structure is more reasonable for the six-axis X2K double-deck container vehicle.展开更多
