Methods Image fusion technology was applied to biological cell imaging processing. It could match the images and improve the confidence and spatial resolution of the images. Using two algorithms, double thresholds algorithm and denoising algorithm based on wavelet transform,the fluorescence image and transmission image of a Cell were merged into a composite image. Results and Conclusion The position of fluorescence and the structure of cell can be displyed in the composite image. The signal-to-noise ratio of the exultant image is improved to a large extent. The algorithms are not only useful to investigate the fluorescence and transmission images, but also suitable to observing two or more fluoascent label proes in a single cell.展开更多

The results show that both GAC and activated bentoni...The adsorption capacity of landfill liners containing granular activated carbon (GAC), or bentonite activated by acid, for Cr(VI) was investigated by batch testing. The results show that both GAC and activated bentonite could be used as sorptive amendments for trapping Cr(VI) in landfill liners. The Cr(VI) sorption to GAC and activated bentonite is much greater than Cr(VI) sorption to natural clay. The adsorption capacity of Cr(VI) onto all the soils increases with increasing temperature; adsorption capacity is also significantly influenced by soil-solid concentration. As the soil-solid concentration increases the adsorption capacity first decreases logarithmically, but then stabilizes when the soil-solid concentration exceeds a critical value (e.g. 400 g/L). Permeability tests were conducted in the laboratory. The results indicate that the hydraulic conductivity of landfill liners containing GAC or activated bentonite can meet the engineering requirement of 1 nm/s. One-dimensional transport simulations for Cr(VI) were performed to evaluate the effect of GAC and activated bentonite on landfill liners. The results of the simulations indicate that landfill liners containing GAC, or activated bentonite, significantly retard the transport of Cr(VI) relative to a conventional clay liner.展开更多
Objective To investigate the response on late stage Chinese AIDS patients after highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART). Methods From October 2002 to March 2004, 20 cases of late stage Chinese AIDS patients we...Objective To investigate the response on late stage Chinese AIDS patients after highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART). Methods From October 2002 to March 2004, 20 cases of late stage Chinese AIDS patients were selected to participate in this opened and randomised study, we purposely chose those with CD4+ T cell counts 〈 100/mm^3. All of them had one or two opportunistic infections and none had been treated with anti-HIV drugs. All patients were tested with CD4+ (naive CD4+ T cell defined by CD45RA+ and CD62L+, memory CD4+ T cell defined by CD45RA-), CD8+ T cell, plasma HIV viral load, and clinical manifestations on before, during, and after HAART (5 different regimes) on 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months. Before HAART mean CD4+ T cell counts were 32 ± 31 (range 2-91)/mm^3, and plasma HIV viral load were 5.07 ± 0.85(range 2.04-5.70) log copies/mL. In 1 month's time patients treated with HAAT had mean CD4+ and CD8+ T cell counts increasing rapidly. After 1 month the increasing speed turned to slow down, but HIV viral load decreased predominantly within the first 3 months. The major part of increasing CD4+ T cells were memory CD4+ T cells, as for naive CD4+ T cells increasing low and slow. Clinical symptoms and signs improved, and opportunistic infections reduced. The quality of life will be far much better than before. Each patient was followed for 12 months, and had finished 12 months' HAAT. Conclusion This is the first report in China that late stage Chinese AIDS patients after HAART could have their immune reconstitution. The regular pattern is similar to what had been reported in Western countries and also in China. So it is worth to treat late stage Chinese AIDS patients with HAAT.展开更多

Some major experimental factor...With this study,we investigated an approach of applying an electrocoagulation method for the removal of humic acid from groundwater. Aluminium electrodes were selected in the experiment. Some major experimental factors,such as electrode distance,current densities and pH values were explored. Results suggest that,given a small electrode interval and/or a high current density,a lower pH value leads to an improved removal rate of humic acid. Under acid conditions with a current density 47.6 A/m2,for instance,humic acid concentrations were reduced from 20 mg/L to 0.43 mg/L which resulted in the removal of 97.8% of the humic acid. This encouraging result demonstrated that our electro-coagulation method is effective in the removal of humic acid from groundwater.展开更多

Demineralization of the char samples was performed by treating them wi...Five Shenfu char samples were prepared from Shenfu raw coal at different temperatures (950, 1100, 1200, 1300 and 1400℃) using a muffle furnace. Demineralization of the char samples was performed by treating them with 10% nitric acid for 10 min in a CEM Discover microwave reactor. The gasification of the chars, and corresponding demineralized chars, in a carbon dioxide (CO2) atmosphere was conducted in a Netzsch STA 409Cl31F tempera- ture-programmed thermogravimetry apparatus. The effects of charring temperature and demineralization on the gasification reactivity of chars were systematically investigated. The results show that a char formed at a lower temperature is more reactive except for demineralized char formed at 1100℃, which is less reactive than char formed at 1200℃. Demineralization decreases the char reactivities toward gasification with CO2 to a small extent.展开更多
Objective To explore the effects of Scutellaria baicalensis on activity and biofilm formation of Klebsiella pneumonia(Kp).Methods The broth and agar dilution methods were carried out to determine minimum inhibitory co...Objective To explore the effects of Scutellaria baicalensis on activity and biofilm formation of Klebsiella pneumonia(Kp).Methods The broth and agar dilution methods were carried out to determine minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration of Scutellaria baicalensis for TW518.VITEK-32 system was used to assay TW518 susceptibility to antibiotics.Kp biofilms were formed in vitro and stained with Bac Light Live/Dead stain.The class integron geneⅠ1 m RNA expression was analyzed with RT-PCR.Results The minimum inhibitory concentration of Scutellaria baicalensis on TW518 identified as a Kp colony was 32 mg/ml,and minimum bactericidal concentration was 64 mg/ml.Scutellaria baicalensis and broad-spectrum penicillin,cephalosporin,quinolones,or beta-lactamase had synergistic bactericidal effects.Biofilm formation activity of Kp treated with Scutellaria baicalensis was significantly lower than that of the control group.And class integron geneⅠ1 m RNA expression of TW518 was significantly inhibited by Scutellaria baicalensis.Conclusions Scutellaria baicalensis has sterilization effect on Kp,and Scutellaria baicalensis could effectively inhibit Kp biofilm formation with prolonged treatment.Scutellaria baicalensis might inhibit Kp biofilm formation through down-regulating integron geneⅠ1 expression.展开更多
The mesoporous Al-SBA-15 zeolite was obtained via impregnation of pure silica-based SBA-15 zeolite with aluminum nitrate.The Al-SBA-15 sample was calcined in air at 800 ℃ for 6 h and hydrothermally treated at near 1...The mesoporous Al-SBA-15 zeolite was obtained via impregnation of pure silica-based SBA-15 zeolite with aluminum nitrate.The Al-SBA-15 sample was calcined in air at 800 ℃ for 6 h and hydrothermally treated at near 100 ℃ for 120 h,respectively,and then the thermal and hydrothermal stability of Al-SBA-15 sample was investigated by X-ray diffractometry (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM),transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and nitrogen adsorption and desorption techniques.The Al-SBA-15 sample was also studied by 27 Al nuclear magnetic resonance (27 Al NMR) and ammonia temperature programmed desorption (NH 3-TPD) techniques.In addition,the catalytic activity of Al-SBA-15 zeolite was investigated by the Friedel-Crafts reactions of 2,4-di-tert-butylphenol with cinnamyl alcohol.The test results showed that the thermal and hydrothermal stability of Al-SBA-15 zeolite was better than that of SBA-15 zeo-lite.The Al-SBA-15 zeolite sample prepared by impregnation method exhibits more framework aluminum species and Al-O-Si units.Therefore,the number of the surface hydroxyl groups was reduced,resulting in the stabilization of framework structure ofAl-SBA-15 zeolite.The aluminum species can form weak and medium-strong acid sites with catalytic activity.展开更多
Objective To evaluate the possibility of vaginal hysterectomy for patients with moderately enlarged uterus of benign lesions. Methods One hundred and seventeen women with benign uterine diseases underwent vaginal hyst...Objective To evaluate the possibility of vaginal hysterectomy for patients with moderately enlarged uterus of benign lesions. Methods One hundred and seventeen women with benign uterine diseases underwent vaginal hysterectomy. These patients were divided into two groups according to uterine weight. Group Ⅰ contained 60 patients with uterine enlargement to a weight of 200 to 750 g, and group Ⅱ contained 57 patients with uterine weight of less than 200 g. Uterine morcellation was performed in some cases. The peri-operative data in both groups were analyzed. Results In group Ⅰ, 59 cases underwent transvaginal hysterectomy successfully, except 1 case con-verted to abdominal operation and the uterine morcellation was performed in 21 women. In group Ⅱ, all patients successfully underwent transvaginal hysterectomy without any assistance of special technique. The mean uterine weight of group Ⅰ was significantly heavier than that of group Ⅱ(280.18 ± 100.40 g vs 146.48 ± 35.19 g). The mean operating time was significantly longer for group Ⅰ than that for group Ⅱ(83.93 ± 26.26 minutes vs 35.22 ± 20.55 minutes). There were no significant differences in blood loss and complications between groupⅠ and group Ⅱ. There was no injury of urinary bladder or rectum, and no vaginal vault infection. Conclusions Vaginal hysterectomy of moderately enlarged uterus can be safely and effectively performed by experienced operators. In some cases, in order to reduce the uterine volume, uterine mor-cellation should be used to shorten operative time, reduce the bleeding, and lower the postoperative complications.展开更多
The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the existing conditions and the stability of a mining site in which the unique features of seismicity, mining activity, hydrological conditions, geological condition...The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the existing conditions and the stability of a mining site in which the unique features of seismicity, mining activity, hydrological conditions, geological conditions, environmental conditions, and future development plans were considered. In particular, the potential subsidence locations near the proposed construction site, the effects of mining boundary profile,and the influence scope of the mining activity on the neighboring areas were investigated using the finite element method. The study results indicate:(1) the overlying sandstone layer to the coal layer is the key to the stability of the mining roof;(2) the broken boundary has the most effect, followed by the arc boundary and linear boundary;(3) the safe distance from the mining boundary should be at least400 m if the proposed structure is to be built near an active mining site. Other relevant engineering recommendations are also proposed. The concluded results from this study may serve as a guide to other similar sites in the world.展开更多

In this paper, we will study the scenario where multiple mobiles upload tasks to a MEC server in a sing cell, and allocating the limited server resources and wireless chan- nels between mobiles becomes a challenge. We formulate the optimization problem for the energy saved on mobiles with the tasks being dividable, and utilize a greedy choice to solve the problem. A Select Maximum Saved Energy First (SMSEF) algorithm is proposed to realize the solving process. We examined the saved energy at different number of nodes and channels, and the results show that the proposed scheme can effectively help mobiles to save energy in the MEC system.展开更多

Methods SIRT1 and FasL protein levels were d...Objective To study the role of sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) in Fas ligand (FasL) expression regulation during vascular lesion formation and to elucidate the potential mechanisms. Methods SIRT1 and FasL protein levels were detected by Western blotting in either mouse arteries extract or the whole rat aortic vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) lysate. Smooth muscle cell (SMC)-specific human SIRT1 transgenic (Tg) C57BL/6 mice and their littermate wild-type (WT) controls underwent complete carotid artery ligation (ligation groups) or the ligation-excluded operation (sham groups). The carotid arteries were collected 1 day after operation. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction was performed to detect the mRNA levels of SIRT1 and FasL. Luciferase reporter assays were performed to detect the effect of WT-SIRT1, a dominant-negative form of SIRT1 (SIRT1H363Y), and GATA-6 on the promoter activity of FasL. Flow cytometry assay was applied to measure the hypodiploid DNA content of VSMC so as to monitor cellular apoptosis. Results SIRTI was expressed in both rat aortic VSMCs and mouse arteries. Forced SIRT1 expression increased FasL expression both in injured mouse carotid arteries 1 day after ligation (P〈0.001) and VSMCs treated with serum (P〈0.05 at the transcriptional level, P〈0.001 at the protein level). No notable apoptosis was observed. Furthermore, transcription factor GATA-6 increased the promoter activity of FasL (P〈0.001). The induction of FasL promoter activity by GATA-6 was enhanced by WT-SIRT1 (P〈0.001), while SIRT1H363Y significantly relieved the enhancing effect of WT-SIRT1 on GATA-6 (P〈0.001). Conclusions Overexpression of SIRT1 up-regulates FasL expression in both flow-restricted mouse carotid arteries and serum-stimulated VSMCs. The transcription factor GATA-6 participates in the transcriptional regulation of FasL expression by SIRT 1.展开更多

The elder...A proportion of elderly with coronary artery disease is rapidly growing. They have more severe coronary artery disease, therefore, derive more benefit fi'om revascularization and have a greater need for it. The elderly is a heterogeneous group, but compared to the younger cohort, the choice of the optimal revascularization method is much more complicated among them. In recent decades, results has improved dramatically both in surgery and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), even in very old persons. Despite the lack of evidence in elderly, it is obvious, that coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) has a more pronounced effect on long-term survival in price of more strokes, while PCI is certainly less invasive. Age itself is not a criterion for the selection of treatment strategy, but the elderly are often more interested in quality of life and personal independence instead of longevity. This article discusses the factors that influence the choice of the revascularization method in the elderly with stable angina and presents a complex algorithm for making an individual risk-benefit profile. As a consequence the features of CABG and PCI in elderly patients are exposed. Emphasis is centered on the frailty and non-medical factors, including psychosocial, as essential components in making the decision of what strategy to choose. Good communication with the patients and giving them unbiased information is encouraged.展开更多

We investigate the Word Activation Force (WAF) model that compatibly encodes syntactical and semantic information into sparse coding directed networks. A high-level confidence feature Keyword Activation Force (KAF) based on WAF is proposed. KAF can be used for detecting false alarms by considering information about the neighbors to provide a more reliable and accurate keyword affinity. Compared with the baseline system, a relative reduction of 30.94% in average error rate could be achieved when KAF is combined with the posterior probability and the language model score.展开更多

We describe a Survivable Traffic Cognition (STC) algorithm with joint failure probability. Survivable Traffic Assignment (STA) algorithm and Conventional Traffic Assignment (CTA) algorithm are added to illustrate the effectiveness of our proposed STC. We investigate the effect of joint failure probability on blocking probability, spectral utilization ratio, average joint failure probability, and the average hops. Simulation results show that our proposed STC not only achieves better performance in terms of blocking probability and spectral utilization ratio than CTA and STA, but also does not cause higher average joint failure probability or larger average hops compared with STA. As a result, STC makes the best use of spectral resources and does not cause large average joint failure probability.展开更多

Early detection and accurate diagnosis of th...Diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer have been improved during the last decade; however, breast cancer is still a leading cause of death among women in the whole world. Early detection and accurate diagnosis of this disease has been demonstrated an approach to long survival of the patients. As an attempt to develop a reliable diagnosing method for breast cancer, we integrated support vector machine (SVM), k-nearest neighbor and probabilistic neural network into a complex machine learning approach to detect malignant breast tumour through a set of indicators consisting of age and ten cellular features of fine-needle aspiration of breast which were ranked according to signal-to-noise ratio to identify determinants distinguishing benign breast tumours from malignant ones. The method turned out to significantly improve the diagnosis, with a sensitivity of 94.04%, a specificity of 97.37%, and an overall accuracy up to 96.24% when SVM was adopted with the sigmoid kernel function under 5-fold cross validation. The results suggest that SVM is a promising methodology to be further developed into a practical adjunct implement to help discerning benign and malignant breast tumours and thus reduce the incidence of misdiagnosis.展开更多

文摘Objective To explore the effects of Scutellaria baicalensis on activity and biofilm formation of Klebsiella pneumonia(Kp).Methods The broth and agar dilution methods were carried out to determine minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration of Scutellaria baicalensis for TW518.VITEK-32 system was used to assay TW518 susceptibility to antibiotics.Kp biofilms were formed in vitro and stained with Bac Light Live/Dead stain.The class integron geneⅠ1 m RNA expression was analyzed with RT-PCR.Results The minimum inhibitory concentration of Scutellaria baicalensis on TW518 identified as a Kp colony was 32 mg/ml,and minimum bactericidal concentration was 64 mg/ml.Scutellaria baicalensis and broad-spectrum penicillin,cephalosporin,quinolones,or beta-lactamase had synergistic bactericidal effects.Biofilm formation activity of Kp treated with Scutellaria baicalensis was significantly lower than that of the control group.And class integron geneⅠ1 m RNA expression of TW518 was significantly inhibited by Scutellaria baicalensis.Conclusions Scutellaria baicalensis has sterilization effect on Kp,and Scutellaria baicalensis could effectively inhibit Kp biofilm formation with prolonged treatment.Scutellaria baicalensis might inhibit Kp biofilm formation through down-regulating integron geneⅠ1 expression.
文摘The mesoporous Al-SBA-15 zeolite was obtained via impregnation of pure silica-based SBA-15 zeolite with aluminum nitrate.The Al-SBA-15 sample was calcined in air at 800 ℃ for 6 h and hydrothermally treated at near 100 ℃ for 120 h,respectively,and then the thermal and hydrothermal stability of Al-SBA-15 sample was investigated by X-ray diffractometry (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM),transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and nitrogen adsorption and desorption techniques.The Al-SBA-15 sample was also studied by 27 Al nuclear magnetic resonance (27 Al NMR) and ammonia temperature programmed desorption (NH 3-TPD) techniques.In addition,the catalytic activity of Al-SBA-15 zeolite was investigated by the Friedel-Crafts reactions of 2,4-di-tert-butylphenol with cinnamyl alcohol.The test results showed that the thermal and hydrothermal stability of Al-SBA-15 zeolite was better than that of SBA-15 zeo-lite.The Al-SBA-15 zeolite sample prepared by impregnation method exhibits more framework aluminum species and Al-O-Si units.Therefore,the number of the surface hydroxyl groups was reduced,resulting in the stabilization of framework structure ofAl-SBA-15 zeolite.The aluminum species can form weak and medium-strong acid sites with catalytic activity.
文摘Objective To evaluate the possibility of vaginal hysterectomy for patients with moderately enlarged uterus of benign lesions. Methods One hundred and seventeen women with benign uterine diseases underwent vaginal hysterectomy. These patients were divided into two groups according to uterine weight. Group Ⅰ contained 60 patients with uterine enlargement to a weight of 200 to 750 g, and group Ⅱ contained 57 patients with uterine weight of less than 200 g. Uterine morcellation was performed in some cases. The peri-operative data in both groups were analyzed. Results In group Ⅰ, 59 cases underwent transvaginal hysterectomy successfully, except 1 case con-verted to abdominal operation and the uterine morcellation was performed in 21 women. In group Ⅱ, all patients successfully underwent transvaginal hysterectomy without any assistance of special technique. The mean uterine weight of group Ⅰ was significantly heavier than that of group Ⅱ(280.18 ± 100.40 g vs 146.48 ± 35.19 g). The mean operating time was significantly longer for group Ⅰ than that for group Ⅱ(83.93 ± 26.26 minutes vs 35.22 ± 20.55 minutes). There were no significant differences in blood loss and complications between groupⅠ and group Ⅱ. There was no injury of urinary bladder or rectum, and no vaginal vault infection. Conclusions Vaginal hysterectomy of moderately enlarged uterus can be safely and effectively performed by experienced operators. In some cases, in order to reduce the uterine volume, uterine mor-cellation should be used to shorten operative time, reduce the bleeding, and lower the postoperative complications.

文摘The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the existing conditions and the stability of a mining site in which the unique features of seismicity, mining activity, hydrological conditions, geological conditions, environmental conditions, and future development plans were considered. In particular, the potential subsidence locations near the proposed construction site, the effects of mining boundary profile,and the influence scope of the mining activity on the neighboring areas were investigated using the finite element method. The study results indicate:(1) the overlying sandstone layer to the coal layer is the key to the stability of the mining roof;(2) the broken boundary has the most effect, followed by the arc boundary and linear boundary;(3) the safe distance from the mining boundary should be at least400 m if the proposed structure is to be built near an active mining site. Other relevant engineering recommendations are also proposed. The concluded results from this study may serve as a guide to other similar sites in the world.

文摘There are more and more research on active control in the application of civil structure.However,some problems such as the drive levers design,optimization and control law problems restricted its application development.In this work,we presented a kind of piezoelectric drive lever to convert pulling force to pressure without flexural moments based on characteristics of the piezoelectric pile,using the genetic algorithm to optimize the layout of the driving lever,which greatly improved the efficiency.Then an active control experiment on a three-layer intelligence space structure was carried out.The experimental data show that the intelligent structures can produce through active control greatly inhibitive effects on the correspondingly controlled modal displacement and acceleration.Spectral analysis shows that the corresponding modal damping coefficient can be improved to different degrees.

文摘Mobile edge computing (MEC) is a novel technique that can reduce mobiles' com- putational burden by tasks offioading, which emerges as a promising paradigm to provide computing capabilities in close proximity to mobile users. In this paper, we will study the scenario where multiple mobiles upload tasks to a MEC server in a sing cell, and allocating the limited server resources and wireless chan- nels between mobiles becomes a challenge. We formulate the optimization problem for the energy saved on mobiles with the tasks being dividable, and utilize a greedy choice to solve the problem. A Select Maximum Saved Energy First (SMSEF) algorithm is proposed to realize the solving process. We examined the saved energy at different number of nodes and channels, and the results show that the proposed scheme can effectively help mobiles to save energy in the MEC system.

文摘Objective To study the role of sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) in Fas ligand (FasL) expression regulation during vascular lesion formation and to elucidate the potential mechanisms. Methods SIRT1 and FasL protein levels were detected by Western blotting in either mouse arteries extract or the whole rat aortic vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) lysate. Smooth muscle cell (SMC)-specific human SIRT1 transgenic (Tg) C57BL/6 mice and their littermate wild-type (WT) controls underwent complete carotid artery ligation (ligation groups) or the ligation-excluded operation (sham groups). The carotid arteries were collected 1 day after operation. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction was performed to detect the mRNA levels of SIRT1 and FasL. Luciferase reporter assays were performed to detect the effect of WT-SIRT1, a dominant-negative form of SIRT1 (SIRT1H363Y), and GATA-6 on the promoter activity of FasL. Flow cytometry assay was applied to measure the hypodiploid DNA content of VSMC so as to monitor cellular apoptosis. Results SIRTI was expressed in both rat aortic VSMCs and mouse arteries. Forced SIRT1 expression increased FasL expression both in injured mouse carotid arteries 1 day after ligation (P〈0.001) and VSMCs treated with serum (P〈0.05 at the transcriptional level, P〈0.001 at the protein level). No notable apoptosis was observed. Furthermore, transcription factor GATA-6 increased the promoter activity of FasL (P〈0.001). The induction of FasL promoter activity by GATA-6 was enhanced by WT-SIRT1 (P〈0.001), while SIRT1H363Y significantly relieved the enhancing effect of WT-SIRT1 on GATA-6 (P〈0.001). Conclusions Overexpression of SIRT1 up-regulates FasL expression in both flow-restricted mouse carotid arteries and serum-stimulated VSMCs. The transcription factor GATA-6 participates in the transcriptional regulation of FasL expression by SIRT 1.
文摘A proportion of elderly with coronary artery disease is rapidly growing. They have more severe coronary artery disease, therefore, derive more benefit fi'om revascularization and have a greater need for it. The elderly is a heterogeneous group, but compared to the younger cohort, the choice of the optimal revascularization method is much more complicated among them. In recent decades, results has improved dramatically both in surgery and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), even in very old persons. Despite the lack of evidence in elderly, it is obvious, that coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) has a more pronounced effect on long-term survival in price of more strokes, while PCI is certainly less invasive. Age itself is not a criterion for the selection of treatment strategy, but the elderly are often more interested in quality of life and personal independence instead of longevity. This article discusses the factors that influence the choice of the revascularization method in the elderly with stable angina and presents a complex algorithm for making an individual risk-benefit profile. As a consequence the features of CABG and PCI in elderly patients are exposed. Emphasis is centered on the frailty and non-medical factors, including psychosocial, as essential components in making the decision of what strategy to choose. Good communication with the patients and giving them unbiased information is encouraged.

文摘Many Spoken Term Detection (STD) systems use query expansion to return an increased number of keyword candidates and make posterior probability a confidence feature to reject false alarms. However, some keyword candidates hold high posterior probability although these are not recognized correctly. We investigate the Word Activation Force (WAF) model that compatibly encodes syntactical and semantic information into sparse coding directed networks. A high-level confidence feature Keyword Activation Force (KAF) based on WAF is proposed. KAF can be used for detecting false alarms by considering information about the neighbors to provide a more reliable and accurate keyword affinity. Compared with the baseline system, a relative reduction of 30.94% in average error rate could be achieved when KAF is combined with the posterior probability and the language model score.

文摘This paper addresses the problem of survivable traffic assignment with failure probability requirement in flexible bandwidth optical networks. We describe a Survivable Traffic Cognition (STC) algorithm with joint failure probability. Survivable Traffic Assignment (STA) algorithm and Conventional Traffic Assignment (CTA) algorithm are added to illustrate the effectiveness of our proposed STC. We investigate the effect of joint failure probability on blocking probability, spectral utilization ratio, average joint failure probability, and the average hops. Simulation results show that our proposed STC not only achieves better performance in terms of blocking probability and spectral utilization ratio than CTA and STA, but also does not cause higher average joint failure probability or larger average hops compared with STA. As a result, STC makes the best use of spectral resources and does not cause large average joint failure probability.

文摘Diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer have been improved during the last decade; however, breast cancer is still a leading cause of death among women in the whole world. Early detection and accurate diagnosis of this disease has been demonstrated an approach to long survival of the patients. As an attempt to develop a reliable diagnosing method for breast cancer, we integrated support vector machine (SVM), k-nearest neighbor and probabilistic neural network into a complex machine learning approach to detect malignant breast tumour through a set of indicators consisting of age and ten cellular features of fine-needle aspiration of breast which were ranked according to signal-to-noise ratio to identify determinants distinguishing benign breast tumours from malignant ones. The method turned out to significantly improve the diagnosis, with a sensitivity of 94.04%, a specificity of 97.37%, and an overall accuracy up to 96.24% when SVM was adopted with the sigmoid kernel function under 5-fold cross validation. The results suggest that SVM is a promising methodology to be further developed into a practical adjunct implement to help discerning benign and malignant breast tumours and thus reduce the incidence of misdiagnosis.
