Utilizing the split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) system, the dynamic response mechanism of coal energy evolution is examined, and the energy instability criterion is established. The validity of the instability criterion is explored from the standpoint of damage progression. The results demonstrate that the energy conversion mechanism undergoes a fundamental alternation under impact disturbance. Moreover, the energy release rate as well as the energy dissipation rate undergo comparable changes across distinct levels of impact disturbance. The distinction between the energy release rate and the energy dissipation rate (DRD) increases as coal mass deformation grows. Prior to coal facing instability and failure, the DRD experienced an inflection point followed by a sharp decrease. In conjunction with the discussion on the damage evolution, the physical and mechanical significance of DRD remains clear, which can essentially describe the whole impact loading process. The phenomenon that the inflection point appears and DRD subsequently suddenly decreases can be employed as the energy criterion prior to the failure of instability. Furthermore, this paper provides significant reference for the prediction of dynamic instability of coal under dynamic disturbance.展开更多

文摘Aiming at the problem of deep surrounding rock instability induced by roadway excavation or mining disturbance, the true triaxial loading system was used to conduct graded cyclic maximum principal stress σ_(1) and intermediate principal stress σ_(2) tests on sandstone to simulate the effect of mining stress in actual underground engineering. The influences of each principal stress cycle on the mechanical properties, acoustic emission(AE)characteristics, and fracture characteristics of sandstone were analyzed. The damage characteristics of sandstone under true triaxial cyclic loading were studied.Furthermore, the damage constitutive model of rock mass under true triaxial cyclic loading was established based on AE cumulative ringing count. The quantitative investigation was conducted on cumulative-damage changes in circulating sandstone, which elucidated the mechanism of damage deterioration in sandstone subjected to true triaxial cyclic loading. The results show that the influence of the graded cycleσ_(1) on limit maximum principal strain ɛ_(1max) and limit minimum principal strainɛ_(3max) was significantly greater than that of the limit intermediate principal strain ɛ_(2max).Graded cycleσ_(2) had a greater impact onɛ_(2max) and a smaller impact onɛ_(3max).The elasticity modulus of sandstone decreased exponentially with the increased cyclic load amplitude, while the Poisson ratio increased linearly.b of AE showed a trend of increasing, decreasing, slightly fluctuating, and finally decreasing during cyclingσ_(1).b showed a trend of slight fluctuation, large fluctuation, and finally increase during cyclingσ_(2).Sandstone specimens experienced mainly tensile failure,tensile-shear composite failure, and mainly shear failure with increased initialσ_(2) orσ_(3).This was determined by analyzing the rise angle-average frequency of the AE parameter, corresponding to the rock specimens from splitting failure to shear failure.Besides, the mechanical damage behavior of sandstone under true triaxial cyclic loading could be well described by the established constitutive model. At the same time,it was found that the sandstone damage variable decreased with increasedσ_(2) during cyclingσ_(1).The damage variable decreased first and then increased with increasedσ_(3) during cyclingσ_(2).

文摘The geostress and rock blasting in underground engineering may greatly affect the stress thresholds of surrounding rock.In this study,pre-damage impact tests were first conducted on granite under varying confining pressures(5,10 and 15 MPa)and numbers of impacts(1,5,10 and 15 impacts). Then, uniaxial compression tests were undertaken on the pre-damaged granite to study the evolution of stress thresholds using the crack volume strain method and acoustic emission method. The crack damage stresses determined by the two methods were compared.Additionally, based on the rise time amplitude and average frequency, the evolution law of microcracks inside rock specimens was revealed, and an improved acoustic emission method was proposed. The results indicated that as the number of impacts increased, the crack closure stress, crack damage stress, and peak stress of granite specimens initially rose and then declined, while they continuously increased with the confining pressure. The proportion of shear cracks first declined and then rose with greater number of impacts and decreased with higher confining pressure, and that of tensile cracks showed the opposite trend. The improved acoustic emission method was more accurate in identifying the crack damage stress.

文摘The stress gradient of surrounding rock and reasonable prestress of support are the keys to ensuring the stability of roadways. The elastic-plastic analytical solution for surrounding rock was derived based on unified strength theory.A model for solving the stress gradient of the surrounding rock with the intermediate principal stress parameter b was established. The correctness and applicability of the solution for the stress gradient in the roadway surrounding rock was verified via multiple methods.Furthermore, the laws of stress, displacement, and the plastic zone of the surrounding rock with different b values and prestresses were revealed. As b increases, the stress gradient in the plastic zone increases, and the displacement and plastic zone radius decrease. As the prestress increases, the peak stress shifts toward the sidewalls, and the stress and stress gradient increments decrease. In addition, the displacement increment and plastic zone increment were proposed to characterize the support effect. The balance point of the plastic zone area appears before that of the displacement zone. The relationship between the stress gradient compensation coefficient and the prestress is obtained. This study provides a research method and idea for determining the reasonable prestress of support in roadways.

文摘As the proton transport channel and binder within the catalytic layer(CL),the physicochemical properties of the ionomer can affect the CL microstructure and performance of the membrane electrode assembly. In this paper,we select ionomers with different side-chain lengths and investigate the effects of the side-chain structure and content of the ionomers on the performance of membrane electrode assembly(MEA).Electrochemical tests show that at a mass ratio of 10 wt.%of ionomer/Ir(I/Ir),long-side-chain(LSC)ionomer exhibits the best performance(2.141 V@2.00 A/cm^(2),while short-side-chain(SSC)ionomer is 2.208 V@2.00 A/cm^(2)).The MEA containing LSC ionomer shows better electrochemical performance than the SSC at the same I/Ir mass ratio, especially at high current density. The MEA containing LSC ionomer has a larger average pore size and porosity, which indicates that it may have better mass-transfer properties. From the analysis of voltage loss,it can be seen that LSC ionomers have a smaller ohmic impedance and mass transfer resistance than SSC ionomers. In conclusion,LSC ionomers are more conducive to water-gas transport, which can provide excellent water electrolysis performance. This article focuses on the optimization of ionomer side chains and content, which can enhance PEM water electrolysis performance at lower cost.

文摘Efficient tool condition monitoring techniques help to realize intelligent management of tool life and reduce tool usage costs. In this paper, the influence of different wear degrees of ball-end milling cutters on the texture shape of machining tool marks is investigated, and a method is proposed for predicting the wear state(including the position and degree of tool wear)of ball-end milling cutters based on entropy measurement of tool mark texture images.Firstly, data samples are prepared through wear experiments, and the change law of the tool mark texture shape with the tool wear state is analyzed. Then,a two-dimensional sample entropy algorithm is developed to quantify the texture morphology. Finally, the processing parameters and tool attitude are integrated into the prediction process to predict the wear value and wear position of the ball end milling cutter. After testing, the correlation between the predicted value and the standard value of the proposed tool condition monitoring method reaches 95.32%,and the accuracy reaches 82.73%,indicating that the proposed method meets the requirement of tool condition monitoring.

文摘Accurate assessment of coal brittleness is crucial in the design of coal seam drilling and underground coal mining operations. This study proposes a method for evaluating the brittleness of gas-bearing coal based on a statistical damage constitutive model and energy evolution mechanisms.Initially, integrating the principle of effective stress and the Hoek-Brown criterion,a statistical damage constitutive model for gas-bearing coal is established and validated through triaxial compression tests under different gas pressures to verify its accuracy and applicability.Subsequently, employing energy evolution mechanism, two energy characteristic parameters(elastic energy proportion and dissipated energy proportion)are analyzed.Based on the damage stress thresholds, the damage evolution characteristics of gas bearing coal were explored. Finally,by integrating energy characteristic parameters with damage parameters,a novel brittleness index is proposed. The results demonstrate that the theoretical curves derived from the statistical damage constitutive model closely align with the test curves, accurately reflecting the stress−strain characteristics of gas-bearing coal and revealing the stress drop and softening characteristics of coal in the post-peak stage. The shape parameter and scale parameter represent the brittleness and macroscopic strength of the coal, respectively. As gas pressure increases from 1 to 5 MPa,the shape parameter and the scale parameter decrease by 22.18%and 60.45%,respectively,indicating a reduction in both brittleness and strength of the coal.Parameters such as maximum damage rate and peak elastic energy storage limit positively correlate with coal brittleness. The brittleness index effectively captures the brittleness characteristics and reveals a decrease in brittleness and an increase in sensitivity to plastic deformation under higher gas pressure conditions.

文摘Permeable roads generally exhibit inferior mechanical properties and shorter service life than traditional dense-graded/impermeable roads.Furthermore, the incorporation of recycled aggregates in their construction may exacerbate these limitations. To address these issues, this study introduced a novel cement-stabilized permeable recycled aggregate material.A total of 162 beam specimens prepared with nine different levels of cement-aggregate ratio were tested to evaluate their permeability, bending load, and bending fatigue life. The experimental results indicate that increasing the content of recycled aggregates led to a reduction in both permeability and bending load.Additionally, the inclusion of recycled aggregates diminished the energy dissipation capacity of the specimens. These findings were used to establish a robust relationship between the initial damage in cement-stabilized permeable recycled aggregate material specimens and their fatigue life, and to propose a predictive model for their fatigue performance.Further,a method for assessing fatigue damage based on the evolution of fatigue-induced strain and energy dissipation was developed. The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the mechanical behavior and fatigue performance of cement-stabilized permeable recycled aggregate materials, offering guidance for the design of low-carbon-emission,permeable,and durable roadways incorporating recycled aggregates.

文摘Rock residual strength,as an important input parameter, plays an indispensable role in proposing the reasonable and scientific scheme about stope design, underground tunnel excavation and stability evaluation of deep chambers. Therefore, previous residual strength models of rocks established were reviewed. And corresponding related problems were stated.Subsequently, starting from the effects of bedding and whole life-cycle evolution process, series of triaxial mechanical tests of deep bedded sandstone with five bedding angles were conducted under different confining pressures. Then, six residual strength models considering the effects of bedding and whole life-cycle evolution process were established and evaluated. Finally,a cohesion loss model for determining residual strength of deep bedded sandstone was verified. The results showed that the effects of bedding and whole life-cycle evolution process had both significant influences on the evolution characteristic of residual strength of deep bedded sandstone.Additionally, residual strength parameters:residual cohesion and residual internal friction angle of deep bedded sandstone were not constant, which both significantly changed with increasing bedding angle.Besides, the cohesion loss model was the most suitable for determining and estimating the residual strength of bedded rocks, which could provide more accurate theoretical guidance for the stability control of deep chambers.

文摘The zirconium(Zr)alloy fuel cladding is one of the key structural components of a nuclear reactor and the first and most important line of defense for accommodating fission products.During the operation of nuclear reactors,Zr alloy fuel cladding is subjected to extreme harsh environments, such as high temperature, high pressure and high flow rate for a long period of time. The wear and corrosion resistance of Zr alloys is important for the safe operation of nuclear reactors.Surface modification can effectively improve the corrosion and wear resistance of fuel cladding.Compared with coating technology, nitriding technology does not have problems for bonding between the coating and the substrate.Current research on surface nitriding of Zr alloys mainly focuses on plasma nitriding and ion implantation techniques.Research on laser nitriding of Zr alloy surfaces and their fretting wear characteristics is scarce. In this study, the surface of Zr alloy was treated with laser nitriding at different laser energies. The microstructure of Zr alloy treated with different laser energies and its fretting wear performance were studied. The results showed that after nitriding with different laser energies, the surface of the Zr alloy showed a typical molten state after melting, vaporizing and cooling under the thermal effect of the laser, and this state was more obvious with the increase of the laser energy. At the same time, doping of N atoms and formation of the ZrN phase led to different cooling rates in the molten zone that produced large tensile stresses after cooling. This led to cracks on the surface of Zr alloys after laser nitriding at different energies, and the crack density increased with increasing laser energy. This also led to an increase in the surface roughness of the Zr alloy with increasing laser energy after laser nitriding treatment.Due to the presence of water in the industrial nitrogen, nitrides were generated on the surface of the sample along with some oxides. When the laser energy was 100 mJ,there was no ZrN generation, and N existed mainly as a diffusion layer within the Zr alloy substrate.ZrN generated when the laser energy reached 200 mJ and above, which increased with the increase of laser energy.Due to the generation of ZrN phase and the presence of some oxides, the surface Vickers hardness of Zr alloys after laser nitriding treatment at different energies increased by 37.5%compared to Zr alloys. After laser nitriding treatment, the wear mechanism of Zr alloys changed. For the untreated Zr alloys, the wear mechanism was dominated by delamination and spalling wear, accompanied by oxidative and abrasive wear. The phenomenon of delamination and peeling decreased with the increase of laser energy.Wear mechanisms changed to predominantly abrasive wear with oxidative wear and delamination spalling. The wear volume of sample nitriding with laser energy 400 mJ was reduced by 46.5%compared with that of untreated Zr alloy.

文摘This paper developed a statistical damage constitutive model for deep rock by considering the effects of external load and thermal treatment temperature based on the distortion energy. The model parameters were determined through the extremum features of stress−strain curve.Subsequently, the model predictions were compared with experimental results of marble samples. It is found that when the treatment temperature rises, the coupling damage evolution curve shows an S-shape and the slope of ascending branch gradually decreases during the coupling damage evolution process. At a constant temperature, confining pressure can suppress the expansion of micro-fractures.As the confining pressure increases the rock exhibits ductility characteristics, and the shape of coupling damage curve changes from an S-shape into a quasi-parabolic shape. This model can well characterize the influence of high temperature on the mechanical properties of deep rock and its brittleness-ductility transition characteristics under confining pressure. Also,it is suitable for sandstone and granite, especially in predicting the pre-peak stage and peak stress of stress−strain curve under the coupling action of confining pressure and high temperature. The relevant results can provide a reference for further research on the constitutive relationship of rock-like materials and their engineering applications.

文摘Four key stress thresholds exist in the compression process of rocks,i.e.,crack closure stress(σ_(cc)),crack initiation stress(σ_(ci)),crack damage stress(σ_(cd))and compressive strength(σ_(c)).The quantitative identifications of the first three stress thresholds are of great significance for characterizing the microcrack growth and damage evolution of rocks under compression. In this paper,a new method based on damage constitutive model is proposed to quantitatively measure the stress thresholds of rocks.Firstly, two different damage constitutive models were constructed based on acoustic emission(AE)counts and Weibull distribution function considering the compaction stages of the rock and the bearing capacity of the damage element. Then, the accumulative AE counts method(ACLM),AE count rate method(CRM)and constitutive model method(CMM)were introduced to determine the stress thresholds of rocks. Finally, the stress thresholds of 9 different rocks were identified by ACLM,CRM,and CMM.The results show that the theoretical stress−strain curves obtained from the two damage constitutive models are in good agreement with that of the experimental data, and the differences between the two damage constitutive models mainly come from the evolutionary differences of the damage variables. The results of the stress thresholds identified by the CMM are in good agreement with those identified by the AE methods,i.e.,ACLM and CRM.Therefore, the proposed CMM can be used to determine the stress thresholds of rocks.
