Rockburst is a dynamic phenomenon accompanied by acoustic emission(AE)activities.It is difficult to predict rockburst accurately.Based on the fast Fourier transform(FFT)method and the information entropy theory,the evolution model of dominant frequency entropy was established.The AE energy,frequency and stress were synthetically considered to predict rockburst.Under the triaxial and the single-face unloading tests,the relationship between AE energy and the development of internal cracks was analyzed.Using the FFT method,the distribution characteristics of AE dominant frequency values were obtained.Based on the information entropy theory,the dominant frequencies evolved patterns were ascertained.It was observed that the evolution models of the dominant frequency entropy were nearly the same and shared a characteristic“undulation-decrease-rise-sharp decrease”pattern.Results show that AE energy will be released suddenly before rockburst.The density of intermediate frequency increased prior to rockburst.The dominant frequency entropy reached a relative maximum value before rockburst,and then decreased sharply.These features could be used as a precursory information for predicting rockburst.The proposed relative maximum value could be as a key point to predict rockburst.This is a meaningful attempt on predicting rockburst. 展开更多

The effect of the information delay, which was caused by thc naturc of the distance sensors and wireless communication systems, on the string stability of platoon of automated vehicles was studied. The longitudinal vehicle dynamics model was built by taking the information delay into consideration, and three typical information frameworks, i.e., leader-predecessor framework (LPF), multiple-predecessors framework (MPF) and predecessor-successor framework (PSF), were defined and their related spacing error dynamics models in frequency domain were proposed. The string stability of platoon of automated vehicles was analyzed for the LPF, MPF and PSF, respectively. Meanwhile, the related sufficient string stable conditions were also obtained. The results demonstrate that the string stability can be guaranteed tbr the LPF and PSF with considering the information delay, but the ranges of the control gains of the control laws are smaller than those without considering the information delay. For the MPF, the "weak" string stability, which can be guaranteed without considering the information delay, cannot be obtained with considering the information delay. The comparative simulations further demonstrate that the LPF shows better string stability, but the PSF shows better string scalable performance. 展开更多

Unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)was introduced as a novel traffic device to collect road traffic information and its cruise route planning problem was considered.Firstly,a multi-objective optimization model was proposed aiming at minimizing the total cruise distance and the number of UAVs used,which used UAV maximum cruise distance,the number of UAVs available and time window of each monitored target as constraints.Then,a novel multi-objective evolutionary algorithm was proposed.Next,a case study with three time window scenarios was implemented.The results show that both the total cruise distance and the number of UAVs used continue to increase with the time window constraint becoming narrower.Compared with the initial optimal solutions,the optimal total cruise distance and the number of UAVs used fall by an average of 30.93% and 31.74%,respectively.Finally,some concerns using UAV to collect road traffic information were discussed. 展开更多

A novel method of photographic geological logging based on parallel image sequence in small tunnel

Small tunnels such as engineering geological exploratory tunnels and mine roadways are generally narrow, which make the existing photographic geological logging technique inapplicable. Therefore, geological logging of exploratory tunnels has always been taking the method of manual sketch work which has low efficiency and poor informatization degree of products, and it is a technical issue requiring urgent settlement for geological logging of small tunnels. This paper proposes and studies novel methods of photographic geological logging suitable for small tunnels, including image acquisition, image orientation control, image geometric correction, unfolded image map generation and geological attitude measurement, etc. Experiments show that the method can meet the precision requirement of geological logging. The novel method helps to realize the fast acquisition and processing of image-based geological logging data for small tunnels, and the forms of logging result are more abundant and more applicable to informatized management and application of geological logging data. 展开更多

Settlement monitoring system of pile-group foundation

In order to realize information construction on settlement of pile-group foundation of Sutong Bridge, the monitoring instruments of high-precision micro-pressure sensor and hydrostatic leveling and settlement profiler were integrated synthetically. A set of practical multi-scale monitoring system on settlement of super-large pile-group foundation in deep water was put forward. The reliable settlement results are obtained by means of multi-sensor data fusion. Finite element model of pile-group foundation is established. By analysis of finite element simulated calculation of pile-group foundation, rules of settlement and uneven settlement obtained by monitoring and calculation results are coincident and the absolute error of settlement between them is 4.7 mm. The research shows that it is reasonable and feasible to monitor settlement of pile-group foundation with the system, and it can provide a method for the same type pile-group foundation in deep water. 展开更多

Ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm was modified to optimize the global path. In order to simulate the real ant colonies, according to the foraging behavior of ant colonies and the characteristic of food, conceptions of neighboring area and smell area were presented. The former can ensure the diversity of paths and the latter ensures that each ant can reach the goal. Then the whole path was divided into three parts and ACO was used to search the second part path. When the three parts pathes were adjusted, the final path was found. The valid path and invalid path were defined to ensure the path valid. Finally, the strategies of the pheromone search were applied to search the optimum path. However, when only the pheromone was used to search the optimum path, ACO converges easily. In order to avoid this premature convergence, combining pheromone search and random search, a hybrid ant colony algorithm(HACO) was used to find the optimum path. The comparison between ACO and HACO shows that HACO can be used to find the shortest path. 展开更多

The performances of repaired image depend on the local information in the repaired area and the consistency between the repair directions with structural content.Image repair algorithm with texture information performs well in repairing seriously damaged images,but it has bad performances when the images have the abundant structure information.The dual optimization image repair algorithm based on the linear structure and the optimal texture is proposed.The algorithm uses the double-constraint sparse model to reconstruct the missed information in large area in order to improve the clarity of repaired images.After adopting the preference of Criminisi priority,the image repair algorithm of self-similarity characteristics is proposed to improve the fault and fuzzy distortion phenomena in the repaired image.The results show that the proposed algorithm has more clarity in the image texture and structure and better effectiveness,and the peak signal-to-noise ratio of the repaired images by proposed algorithm is superior to that by other algorithms. 展开更多

By integrating the merits of the map overlay method and the geographic information system (GIS), a GIS based map overlay method was developed to analyze comprehensively the environmental vulnerability around railway and its impact on the environment, which is adapted for the comprehensive assessment of railway environmental impact and the optimization of railway alignments. The assessment process of the GIS based map overlay method was presented, which includes deciding the system structure and weights of assessment factors, making environmental vulnerability grade maps, and evaluating the alternative alignments comprehensively to obtain the best one. With the GIS functions of spatial analysis, such as overlay analysis and buffer analysis, and functions of handling attribute data, the GIS based map overlay method overcomes the shortcomings of the existing map overlay method and the conclusion is more reasonable. In the end, a detailed case study was illustrated to verify the efficiency of the method. 展开更多

Robust control design is presented for a general class of uncertain non-affine nonlinear systems. The design employs feedback linearization, coupled with two high-gain observers: the first to estimate the feedback linearization error based on the full state information and the second to estimate the unmeasured states of the system when only the system output is available for feedback. All the signals in the closed loop are guaranteed to be uniformly ultimately bounded(UUB) and the output of the system is proven to converge to a small neighborhood of the origin. The proposed approach not only handles the difficulty in controlling non-affine nonlinear systems but also simplifies the stability analysis of the closed loop due to its linear control structure. To improve the global search ability and imaging quality of electrical resistivity imaging(ERI) inversion, a two-stage learning ICPSO algorithm of radial basis function neural network(RBFNN) based on information criterion(IC) and particle swarm optimization(PSO) is presented. In the proposed method, IC is applied to obtain the hidden layer structure by calculating the optimal IC value automatically and PSO algorithm is used to optimize the centers and widths of the radial basis functions in the hidden layer. Meanwhile, impacts of different information criteria to the inversion results are compared, and an implementation of the proposed ICPSO algorithm is given. The optimized neural network has one hidden layer with 261 nodes selected by AKAIKE's information criterion(AIC) and it is trained on 32 data sets and tested on another 8 synthetic data sets. Two complex synthetic examples are used to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method with two learning stages. The results show that the proposed method has better performance and higher imaging quality than three-layer and four-layer back propagation neural networks(BPNNs) and traditional least square(LS) inversion. 展开更多

The optimization of high density and concentrated-weight freights loading requires an even distribution of the freight's weight and unconcentrated loading on the floor of the car.Based on the characteristics of concentrated-weight category freights,an improvement method is put forward to build freight towers and a greedy-construction algorithm is utilized based on heuristic information for the initial layout.Then a feasibility analysis is performed to judge if the balanced and unconcentrated loading constrains are reached.Through introducing optimization or adjustment methods,an overall optimal solution can be obtained.Experiments are conducted using data generated from real cases showing the effectiveness of our approach: volume utility ratio of 90.4% and load capacity utility ratio of 86.7% which is comparably even to the packing of the general freights. 展开更多
