The association between daily temperature extremes and human biomarkers:heterogeneous effects of occupation and season

The impact of extreme temperatures on the health of individuals in different organizations remains uncertain.We employed stratified analyses to examine the impacts of summer(April-September)daily maximum temperatures and winter(October-March)daily minimum temperatures on blood pressure and lipid profiles across government staff,com-pany employees,and researchers.We examined 209,477 physical examination records from a physical examination center in the First Affiliated Hospital of USTC from 2017 to 2021.Employing a segmented regression model within the frame-work of generalized linear regression(GLM),we examined the causal impact of extreme temperatures on health outcomes.Additionally,sensitivity analyses were conducted via distributed lag nonlinear models(DLNMs),with a focus on ob-serving the long-term effects over a period of 21 days.Our findings indicate that government staff face increased health risks during extremely low temperatures,regardless of the season.Compared with participants experiencing median tem-peratures,government staff exposed to extremely low temperatures(below the 10th percentile,below 24℃)in the sum-mer presented maximum increases of 2.32 mmHg(95%CI:1.542-3.098)in diastolic blood pressure and 6.481 mmHg(95%CI:5.368-7.594)in systolic blood pressure.In winter,government staff exposed to temperatures below the 10th per-centile(below 1℃)demonstrated maximum increases of 0.278 mmol/L(95%CI:0.210-0.346)in total cholesterol,0.153 mmol/L(95%CI:0.032-0.274)in triglycerides,and 0.077 mmol/L(95%CI:0.192-0.134)in low-density lipoprotein.Conversely,warm winters benefit company employees,whereas researchers exhibit lower sensitivity to temperature changes in winter.The maximum temperatures in summer and minimum temperatures in winter had greater impacts on in-dividuals.Small temperature fluctuations impact health more than large changes do.Notably,both the maximum and min-imum temperatures were better predictors of health outcomes than the daily average temperature was.Blood pressure con-sistently displayed significant associations with temperature across all three groups,with extremely low temperatures in-creasing the risk and extremely high temperatures reducing it.However,the relationship between temperature and blood lipids is complex. 展开更多

To meet the challenge of mismatches between power supply and demand,modern buildings must schedule flexible energy loads in order to improve the efficiency of power grids.Furthermore,it is essential to understand the effectiveness of flexibility management strategies under different climate conditions and extreme weather events.Using both typical and extreme weather data from cities in five major climate zones of China,this study investigates the energy flexibility potential of an office building under three short-term HVAC management strategies in the context of different climates.The results show that the peak load flexibility and overall energy performance of the three short-term strategies were affected by the surrounding climate conditions.The peak load reduction rate of the pre-cooling and zone temperature reset strategies declined linearly as outdoor temperature increased.Under extreme climate conditions,the daily peak-load time was found to be over two hours earlier than under typical conditions,and the intensive solar radiation found in the extreme conditions can weaken the correlation between peak load reduction and outdoor temperature,risking the ability of a building’s HVAC system to maintain a comfortable indoor environment. 展开更多

A fast encoding algorithm based on the mean square error (MSE) distortion for vector quantization is introduced. The vector, which is effectively constructed with wavelet transform (WT) coefficients of images, can simplify the realization of the non-linear interpolated vector quantization (NLIVQ) technique and make the partial distance search (PDS) algorithm more efficient. Utilizing the relationship of vector L2-norm and its Euclidean distance, some conditions of eliminating unnecessary codewords are obtained. Further, using inequality constructed by the subvector L2-norm, more unnecessary codewords are eliminated. During the search process for code, mostly unlikely codewords can be rejected by the proposed algorithm combined with the non-linear interpolated vector quantization technique and the partial distance search technique. The experimental results show that the reduction of computation is outstanding in the encoding time and complexity against the full search method. 展开更多

In order to optionally regulate embedding capacity and embedding transparency according to user's requirements in voice-over-IP(VoIP) steganography,a dynamic matrix encoding strategy(DMES) was presented.Differing from the traditional matrix encoding strategy,DMES dynamically chose the size of each message group in a given set of adoptable message sizes.The appearance possibilities of all adoptable sizes were set in accordance with the desired embedding performance(embedding rate or bit-change rate).Accordingly,a searching algorithm that could provide an optimal combination of appearance possibilities was proposed.Furthermore,the roulette wheel algorithm was employed to determine the size of each message group according to the optimal combination of appearance possibilities.The effectiveness of DMES was evaluated in StegVoIP,which is a typical covert communication system based on VoIP.The experimental results demonstrate that DMES can adjust embedding capacity and embedding transparency effectively and flexibly,and achieve the desired embedding performance in any case.For the desired embedding rate,the average errors are not more than 0.000 8,and the standard deviations are not more than 0.002 0;for the desired bit-change rate,the average errors are not more than 0.001 4,and the standard deviations are not more than 0.002 6. 展开更多

苹果NBS-encoding基因对斑点落叶病菌侵染的表达响应 被引量:2

[目的]本文旨在分析苹果差异表达NBS-encoding基因的特征,挖掘在苹果斑点落叶病菌侵染过程中的潜在响应基因。[方法]通过苹果斑点落叶病菌侵染‘红星’后的RNA-seq数据筛选出差异表达的NBS-encoding基因,并利用ProtParam、Pfam、SMART等网站分析了其理化性质;利用R studio软件构建表达热图并分析其表达模式;利用Fast Tree 2软件构建苹果NBS-encoding基因家族的系统进化树,并利用MEGA 6.0软件计算差异表达的NBS-encoding基因所在系统进化支的Ka/Ks值,研究NBS-encoding基因在进化过程中受到的选择压力;利用Cytoscape 3.0软件构建共表达网络图,分析NBS-encoding基因之间的关联性。[结果]共筛选得到了19个差异表达NBS-encoding基因。表达模式分析表明,有3个基因(登录号为MDP0000259862、MDP0000304378和MDP0000292810)可能在响应苹果斑点落叶病的过程中起了关键作用。19个差异表达基因分布在系统进化树的15个进化支中,其中进化支10、12、14、15的平均Ka/Ks值均大于1,说明这些进化支中的基因受到正选择压力的作用,尤其是登录号为MDP0000210357、MDP0000751628、MDP0000147704和MDP0000372663的基因;而其余15个NBS-encoding基因的平均Ka/Ks值均小于1,说明它们受到纯化选择的作用。此外,有16个基因处于同一个共表达网络中,登录号为MDP0000210357、MDP0000240537和MDP0000291205的基因扮演着重要的角色。[结论]19个苹果NBS-encoding基因参与苹果斑点落叶病菌侵染后的响应过程,其中登录号为MDP0000259862、MDP0000304378、MDP0000292810、MDP0000210357、MDP0000240537和MDP0000291205的基因可作为候选基因进行苹果抗病品种选育。 展开更多

Fountain codes are considered to be a promising coding technique in underwater acoustic communication(UAC) which is challenged with the unique propagation features of the underwater acoustic channel and the harsh marine environment. And Luby transform(LT) codes are the first codes fully realizing the digital fountain concept. However, in conventional LT encoding/decoding algorithms, due to the imperfect coverage(IC) of input symbols and short cycles in the generator matrix, stopping sets would occur and terminate the decoding. Thus, the recovery probability is reduced,high coding overhead is required and decoding delay is increased.These issues would be disadvantages while applying LT codes in underwater acoustic communication. Aimed at solving those issues, novel encoding/decoding algorithms are proposed. First,a doping and non-uniform selecting(DNS) encoding algorithm is proposed to solve the IC and the generation of short cycles problems. And this can reduce the probability of stopping sets occur during decoding. Second, a hybrid on the fly Gaussian elimination and belief propagation(OFG-BP) decoding algorithm is designed to reduce the decoding delay and efficiently utilize the information of stopping sets. Comparisons via Monte Carlo simulation confirm that the proposed schemes could achieve better overall decoding performances in comparison with conventional schemes. 展开更多

To improve the error correction performance, an innovative encoding structure with tail-biting for spinal codes is designed. Furthermore, an adaptive forward stack decoding(A-FSD) algorithm with lower complexity for spinal codes is proposed. In the A-FSD algorithm, a flexible threshold parameter is set by a variable channel state to narrow the scale of nodes accessed. On this basis, a new decoding method of AFSD with early termination(AFSD-ET) is further proposed. The AFSD-ET decoder not only has the ability of dynamically modifying the number of stored nodes, but also adopts the early termination criterion to curtail complexity. The complexity and related parameters are verified through a series of simulations. The simulation results show that the proposed spinal codes with tail-biting and the AFSD-ET decoding algorithms can reduce the complexity and improve the decoding rate without sacrificing correct decoding performance. 展开更多

针对目前基于签到时空数据的跨社交网络用户匹配方法未充分利用时空信息之间的耦合关系,导致时空数据特征提取困难,匹配准确率下降的问题,提出了一种基于时空Transformer-encoder的跨社交网络用户匹配方法。该方法通过网格映射将签到时... 针对目前基于签到时空数据的跨社交网络用户匹配方法未充分利用时空信息之间的耦合关系,导致时空数据特征提取困难,匹配准确率下降的问题,提出了一种基于时空Transformer-encoder的跨社交网络用户匹配方法。该方法通过网格映射将签到时空信息转换为序列数据,生成签到序列;利用序列嵌入层将离散的签到序列映射到连续高维空间;然后借助多头注意力机制和卷积神经网络提取高维签到特征,并利用卷积神经网络实现优化多头注意力模块权重变换和特征融合;最后利用前馈神经网络实现分类,输出用户匹配得分。在两组真实社交网络用户数据集上进行大量用户匹配实验,与现有方法相比,准确率提升了0.40~10.53百分点,F_(1)值提升了0.43~9.5百分点。这验证了所提方法能够有效提取用户签到耦合特征,并提高用户匹配的性能。 展开更多

In this study, the influence of opening parameters on the ultimate strength of perforated plates subjected to extreme cyclic loading in the presence of material kinematic hardening and isotro pic hardening was analyzed. It is found that the ultimate strength of the perforated plates decreases rapidly and stabilizes in the first four cycles. Plates with oblong openings have a greater ultimate strength compared to plates with rectangular openings, while the relative strengthening ratio decreases over the duration of the cycle. The location of the openings is also an important parameter that affects the strength of the structure, as the plates with openings close to the edges in the longitudinal direction have higher strengths, while in the transverse direction the strengths are higher when the openings are close to the center. Among the three opening-strengthening methods compared, the Carling stiffener method maintains a better strengthening effect under cyclic loads for many periods. 展开更多

全球气候正在加速变暖,2023、2024年连续刷新历史高温纪录,2024年较工业革命前升温达1.55℃。“全球沸腾时代”已至,与之伴随的是极端天气事件频发,2000—2019年气象灾害损失较之前20年翻倍。应对气候变化亟须科学突破,国际学术界聚焦... 全球气候正在加速变暖,2023、2024年连续刷新历史高温纪录,2024年较工业革命前升温达1.55℃。“全球沸腾时代”已至,与之伴随的是极端天气事件频发,2000—2019年气象灾害损失较之前20年翻倍。应对气候变化亟须科学突破,国际学术界聚焦气候预测与极端事件等七大挑战。中国气候研究委员会作为中国-国际气候研究交流的桥梁,评选出了2024年十大气候研究进展:东北亚极端增温机制、气溶胶气候效应复杂性、全球降水变率增强、梅雨特征演变、降水系统扁平化、青藏高原水-热-碳耦合、北太平洋海温影响、大西洋-太平洋盐度差异、深时环流与ENSO、AI气候预测系统等。这些成果突显气候研究的前沿领域、跨学科性与社会价值。未来气候领域的研究热点将聚焦全球变暖加速、气候极端化、新北极和青藏高原新时代、气候系统多圈层耦合、气候系统预测与人工智能、气候变化风险与应对等方面,以更好地为防灾减灾、应对气候变化风险、全球气候治理提供科学支撑。 展开更多

1961—2023年中国降雨侵蚀力变化特征及未来趋势预估 被引量:1

为水土流失预防和科学治理提供参考,基于1961—2023年中国均一化逐日降水资料对降雨侵蚀力进行估算,并结合侵蚀性降雨特征开展降雨侵蚀力变化趋势和成因分析,并探讨降雨侵蚀力的极端变化,在此基础上,摸清中国及十大流域降雨侵蚀力变化... 为水土流失预防和科学治理提供参考,基于1961—2023年中国均一化逐日降水资料对降雨侵蚀力进行估算,并结合侵蚀性降雨特征开展降雨侵蚀力变化趋势和成因分析,并探讨降雨侵蚀力的极端变化,在此基础上,摸清中国及十大流域降雨侵蚀力变化危险状况,并基于Hurst方法预估未来变化趋势。结果表明:1)1961—2023年,中国及东南诸河、西北诸河流域年降雨侵蚀力呈现显著增加趋势,西南诸河流域则呈现显著减少趋势,其余大多数流域增加趋势不明显;2)中国及十大流域大多年侵蚀性降雨量、雨日、平均降雨强度增加,其中平均降雨强度和/或降雨量的变化为大多数流域年降雨侵蚀力变化的主要成因;3)中国大部地区年最大日降雨侵蚀力增加,10年一遇次降雨侵蚀力1961—2023年相比1961—1990年呈增加的站点比例多达64.3%;4)近60年来,中国大部地区降雨侵蚀力变化具有危险性,站点比例达80%,其中降雨侵蚀力总量及极端都呈增加变化的类型在各流域均最为突出、范围最大;5)除西南诸河流域外,预估大多数流域年降雨侵蚀力未来变化趋势将均以持续增加为主。目前和未来气候条件对中国水土流失治理不容乐观,需根据降雨侵蚀力变化特点,因地制宜制定长期规划和采取有效措施。 展开更多
