Mechanical properties and wear behavior of extruded basalt fibers/7075 aluminum matrix composites used for drill pipes

Basalt fibers/7075 aluminum matrix composites were studied to meet the demand of aluminum alloy drill pipes for material wear resistance.The composites with different basalt fiber additions were prepared by hot pressed sintering and hot extrusion.The mechanical properties as well as friction and wear properties of the composites were studied by microstructure analysis,tensile experiments,friction and wear experiments.The results showed that basalt fibers were oriented and uniformly distributed and led to local grain refinement in the alloy matrix.The hardness and elongation of the composites were improved.The friction coefficient of the composites increased and then decreased,and the maximum wear depth and wear amount decreased,then increased,then decreased again with the growth of basalt fiber addition.Meanwhile,the inclusion of basalt fibers mitigated the uneven wear of the extruded 7075 aluminum alloy.The value of wear depth difference of 7075-0.2BF was the smallest,and that of 7075-2.0BF was close to it.The maximum wear depth and wear volume the 7075-0.2BF and 7075-2.0BF were also the smallest.The inhibition of uneven wear by basalt fibers enhanced of wear resistance for 7075 aluminum alloy,which has reference significance for improving the performance of aluminum alloy drill pipes. 展开更多

The collision and wear caused by inevitable clearance in kinematic pair have an effect on the dynamic characteristics of the mechanism.Therefore,we established the dynamic model of a 3RSR(R is the revolute joint and S is the spherical joint)parallel mechanism with spherical joint clearance based on the modified Flores contact force model and the modified Coulomb friction model using Newton-Euler method.The standard quaternion was introduced in the constraint equation,and the four-order Runge-Kutta method was adopted to solve the 3RSR dynamic model.The simulation results were compared and analyzed with the numerical results.The geometrical parameters of the worn ball socket were solved based on the Archard wear model,and the geometrical reconstruction of the worn surface was carried out.The geometric reconstruction parameters were substituted into the dynamic model,which was to analyze the dynamic response of the 3RSR parallel mechanism with wear and spherical joint clearance.The simulation results show that the irregular wear occurs in the spherical joint with clearance under the presence of the impact and friction force.The long-term wear will increase the fluctuation of the contact force,thereby decreasing the movement stability of the mechanism. 展开更多

Al-Si/15%SiCp(volume fraction) composites with different silicon contents were fabricated by spray deposition technique, and typical microstructures of these composites were studied by optical microscopy(OM). Dry sliding wear tests were carried out using a block-on-ring wear machine to investigate the effect of applied load range of 10-220 N on the wear and friction behavior of these composites sliding against SAE 52100 grade bearing steel. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray microanalysis(EDAX) were utilized to examine the morphologies of the worn surfaces in order to observe the wear characteristics and investigate the wear mechanism. The results show that the wear behavior of these composites is dependent on the silicon content in the matrix alloy and the applied load. Al-Si/15%SiCp composites with higher silicon content exhibit better wear resistance in the applied load range. Under lower loads, the major wear mechanisms are oxidation wear and abrasive wear for all tested composites. Under higher loads, severe adhesive wear becomes the main wear mechanisms for Al-7Si/15%SiCp and Al-13Si/15%SiCp composites, while Al-20Si/15%SiCp presents a compound wear mechanism, consisting of oxidation, abrasive wear and adhesion wear. 展开更多

TiC nanoparticles reinforced 2219 aluminum matrix composites were successfully prepared by ultrasonic casting, followed by forging and T6 heat treatment. The friction and wear properties of the disc-to-column were studied under four separate normal values of 5, 10, 20 and 30 N. The increasing hardness value of the nanocomposite may be attributed to the large amount of TiC(i.e., 1.3 wt.% and 1.7 wt.%) introduced to the composites. The friction coefficient of the nanocomposite decreased with the increase of TiC nanoparticles(0-1.7 wt.%) under the same load. But the wear resistance of the TiC/AA2219 nanocomposite increased by 30%-90% as compared to the 2219 matrix alloy. And it decreased with the increasing load. The composite with 0.9 wt.% TiC produced the best results in terms of friction and wear because of its relatively higher hardness and perfect ability to retain a transfer layer of a comparatively larger thickness. On the wear surface, some Al2O3particles were found which aided in the development of protective shear regions and improved the wear resistance. The wear mechanism for the TiC/AA2219 nanocomposite was a combination of adhesive and oxidative wear, with the composites containing hard TiC nanoparticles being mainly abrasive. 展开更多

Tribological behavior of Cu-15Ni-8Sn(mass fraction, %) alloy against GCr15 ring under various loads was investigated on a ring-on-block tester in oil lubrication. The results showed that the wear rate increased slowly from 1.7×10^(-7) to 9.8× 10^(-7) mm^3/mm under the load lower than 300 N, and then increased dramatically to the climax of 216×10^(-7) mm^3/mm under the load over 300 N, which indicated the transition of wear mechanism with the increase of applied load. The wear mechanism mainly was plastic deformation and abrasive wear under the load less than 300 N. As the applied load was more than 300 N, the wear mechanism of Cu-15Ni-8Sn alloy primarily was delamination wear. Besides, the transition can also be confirmed from the different morphologies of worn surface, subsurface and wear debris. It is distinctly indicated that the appearance of flaky debris at the applied load over 300 N may be a critical point for the change of wear mechanism. 展开更多

Taking granite as machining object,we studied influence of cutting speed,feed rate and depth of cut on tool life by means of variance analysis and regression analysis. The result indicated that cutting speed had a more remarkable effect on tool life; feed rate ranked the second; depth of cut had no significant influence on tool life. 目前的力磁耦合J-A模型未考虑钉扎场的畴壁厚度与多周期动态循环应力的影响,导致J-A模型的应力磁化数值偏大,不能准确描述早期疲劳损伤。为此,基于畴壁理论和Burgers位错理论,引入畴壁厚度因子,改进J-A模型的钉扎场方程,进一步考虑循环... 目前的力磁耦合J-A模型未考虑钉扎场的畴壁厚度与多周期动态循环应力的影响,导致J-A模型的应力磁化数值偏大,不能准确描述早期疲劳损伤。为此,基于畴壁理论和Burgers位错理论,引入畴壁厚度因子,改进J-A模型的钉扎场方程,进一步考虑循环载荷的应力幅、循环周次N等因素,建立了多周期动态循环应力下的J-A-N力磁耦合机理模型。获得了不同动态循环的应力幅值σa与平均应力σm下的磁化规律:相同循环周次下,σa主要影响应力磁化率,σm主要影响应力饱和磁化大小;σm相同时,随着σa的增大,达到应力饱和状态的速度升高;σa相同时,随着σm的增大,应力饱和磁化强度逐渐减小。为验证J-A-N模型有效性,对45钢三点弯曲试件进行了多周期动态循环应力下的磁场信号检测实验,实验结果与模型结果一致。 展开更多

As the next generation biomedical titanium alloy, β-type titanium alloys are excellent candidates for biomedical applications due to the relative low elastic modulus and the contained non-toxic elements. However, the relative low strength and unsatisfactory tribological property are undesired for load-bearing implant applications. In this study, 0-5 at% Si was added to the classic Ti-35Nb-5Ta-7Zr alloy to improve its strength and wear resistance, and the(Ti-35Nb-5Ta-7Zr)1-x-Six(x=0, 1 at% and 5 at%) alloy were fabricated by selective electron beam melting(SEBM)technology. The results indicated that Si addition significantly increases in compressive yield strength, which is mainly due to grain refinement strengthening. At the same time, the wear rate of the as-built TNTZ-5Si alloy in SBF solution was only ~30% of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy. Consequently, the TNTZ-5Si alloy showed an excellent combination of compressive yield strength, elastic modulus and wear resistance for potential load-bearing implant applications. 展开更多

This process is still going on and is significant for us to understand the formation and the evolution of global continent.It’s generally accepted is act as the northern boundary of the Tibetan Plateau is the Altyn Tagh Fault. The Altyn Tagh Fault is recognized as a large\|scale left\|lateral strike\|slip fault, many studies indicate it is the northern margin of the eastward extruded of crustal blocks and the northern boundary of the Plateau as well. Compared to the knowledge on the southern plateau and the Himalaya, we know much less about the northern plateau and the Altyn Tagh Fault. The cellulosic bast fibers are recognized as a justifiable and biodegradable substitute for producing moderate strength polymer composite materials because of their characteristics of renewability,ecofriendliness,and higher specific strength.Hence the aim of this research work is to fabricate Himalayan bast fibers(Nettle fiber(NF)/bauhinia vahlii fiber(BF)) based mono/hybrid epoxy composites at varying weight percentage of 2-6 wt% and evaluate the physical(void fraction and water absorption),mechanical(tensile strength,flexural strength,hardness) and sliding wear properties of as-fabricated composites.The 6 wt% NBF reinforced composites exhibited higher mechanical properties as compared to NF and BF composites with tensile strength of 34.04 MPa,flexural strength of 42.45 MPa,and hardness of 37.01 Hv respectively.The influence of various control factors(sliding velocity,NF/BF/NBF contents,normal load and sliding distance) on specific sliding wear rate of composites was evaluated by Taguchi(three factors at three levels) experimental design and the percentage contribution of these selected parameters on sliding wear performance was examined by Analysis of variance(ANOVA).The sliding wear property of as-developed composites was found to be greatly influenced by sliding velocity and the wear resistance was observed to be improved with the NF/BF/NBF contents.The wear mechanism of the as-fabricated composites has been elucidated by scanning electron microscopy analysis.The research outcomes demonstrated that the hybridization of Bauhinia vahlii fiber with Nettle fiber led to improve the mechanical and wear properties of epoxy composites. 展开更多

针对核电站管道在受到地震等灾害产生的偶然冲击载荷作用时的应力流动与变形情况,采用电子万能试验机和高速拉伸试验机,分别对碳钢A106(A-106 GR.B)、不锈钢304L(A-312 TP304L)、合金钢A335(A-335 GR.P11)3种核电站常用的管道材料进行... 针对核电站管道在受到地震等灾害产生的偶然冲击载荷作用时的应力流动与变形情况,采用电子万能试验机和高速拉伸试验机,分别对碳钢A106(A-106 GR.B)、不锈钢304L(A-312 TP304L)、合金钢A335(A-335 GR.P11)3种核电站常用的管道材料进行准静态拉伸与动态拉伸试验,并根据试验所得结果拟合建立了3种材料的Johnson-Cook(J-C)本构模型。利用Abaqus有限元分析软件建立管道的冲击模型,并通过冲击试验台架对仿真结果进行验证。结果表明,3种材料都出现了明显的应变率强化效应,A335的抗冲击能力更好一些,304L与A106抗冲击能力差别不大。试验结果与仿真结果吻合度良好,拟合得到的J-C本构模型参数可靠性较高,能够准确地描述材料在冲击载荷下的应力流动与变形行为,对核电站常用管道受冲击载荷作用仿真分析研究具有十分重要的意义。 展开更多

针对机械密封磨损严重、使用寿命低的问题,以摩擦副密封环为研究对象,通过激光在表面加工正多边形织构,研究了其在干磨条件下的磨损性能,探讨了正五边形织构的耐磨性原因。通过摩擦磨损试验,得到了织构化密封端面的摩擦系数、磨损系数... 针对机械密封磨损严重、使用寿命低的问题,以摩擦副密封环为研究对象,通过激光在表面加工正多边形织构,研究了其在干磨条件下的磨损性能,探讨了正五边形织构的耐磨性原因。通过摩擦磨损试验,得到了织构化密封端面的摩擦系数、磨损系数、磨损量以及磨损形貌图,验证了基于Archard磨损公式的数值模型的正确性,研究了织构形状以及旋转角度对磨损数据的影响。结果表明,正五边形织构试件与无织构试件相比,磨损量减少了44.322%,摩擦系数减少了18.803%;当正五边形织构旋转角度在48°左右时,正五边形织构的磨损量和磨损深度最小;在干磨条件下,不同织构的形状、结构参数对机械密封使用寿命的影响不同,选取合适的织构形状、结构参数有利于提高机械密封的寿命。 展开更多

功能组元表面镀层处理是1种在保持摩擦材料功能性同时提高摩擦材料强韧性的有效表面改性方法,有利于摩擦材料在高速重载工况下的可靠性提升.面向不同表面镀层方法对铜基摩擦材料中重要的润滑组元MoS_(2)的性能影响,采用SEM(扫描电镜)、E... 功能组元表面镀层处理是1种在保持摩擦材料功能性同时提高摩擦材料强韧性的有效表面改性方法,有利于摩擦材料在高速重载工况下的可靠性提升.面向不同表面镀层方法对铜基摩擦材料中重要的润滑组元MoS_(2)的性能影响,采用SEM(扫描电镜)、EDS(能谱仪)、XRD(X射线衍射仪)和微米滑擦测试等现代分析检测手段,分析了含不同镀层MoS_(2)润滑组元的本征特征、与基体形成的界面特性以及界面处的微摩擦性能;采用MM-3000摩擦试验机进行宏观湿摩擦学性能检测,系统对比了含不同镀层MoS_(2)铜基摩擦材料在高速重载下的摩擦学行为.结果表明:Ni镀层有效防止MoS_(2)在烧结中分解,促使镀镍MoS_(2)(MoS_(2)@Ni)与基体形成高强度的扩散结合界面,有助于平顺含MoS_(2)@Ni铜基摩擦材料的摩擦曲线,并有效降低摩擦材料的磨损率.而镀铜MoS_(2)(MoS_(2)@Cu)在烧结过程中发生分解,与基体形成扩散-反应结合界面.界面缺陷的存在导致含MoS_(2)@Cu摩擦材料在高速高压下的磨损机制转化为犁削-剥层磨损. 展开更多

TiO_(2)添加量对ZTA陶瓷及ZTA/ZMn13复合材料力学性能的影响

探讨了TiO_(2)添加量对ZTA陶瓷组成、微观结构、力学性能及ZTA/ZMn13复合材料耐磨性能的影响.结果表明,ZTA陶瓷的致密度随烧结温度上升和TiO_(2)添加量的增加均先增加后降低,当烧结温度为1600℃,TiO_(2)添加量为2%(质量分数)时,ZTA陶瓷... 探讨了TiO_(2)添加量对ZTA陶瓷组成、微观结构、力学性能及ZTA/ZMn13复合材料耐磨性能的影响.结果表明,ZTA陶瓷的致密度随烧结温度上升和TiO_(2)添加量的增加均先增加后降低,当烧结温度为1600℃,TiO_(2)添加量为2%(质量分数)时,ZTA陶瓷具有最佳的综合性能:相对密度达到最高,为98.73%,抗弯强度为(429.60±24.56)MPa,维氏硬度(HV)为(1691.73±120.65)N/mm^(2);断裂韧性为(7.24±0.38)MPa∙m^(1/2);1450℃下,ZTA与ZMn13熔液的接触角随TiO_(2)添加量增加而减小,这是因为ZTA表面的TiO_(2)会与ZMn13基体之间通过Ti—O—Fe键相连接,从而改善ZTA与ZMn13基体的界面润湿性;以ZTA陶瓷颗粒所制备的三维多孔预制体在1450℃浇铸制备ZTA/ZMn13复合材料,材料的抗弯强度随ZTA中TiO_(2)含量的提高先增加后下降,当TiO_(2)含量为2%(质量分数)时,其抗弯强度达到最大值273.63 MPa;相较于不含TiO_(2)的ZTA制备的ZTA/ZMn13复合材料(201.72 MPa),其强度提高了35.65%,三体磨损条件下耐磨性提高了21.98%. 展开更多
